I can only recommend this museum, it was like a new world to us. A lot of Highlight, unique presentations and details. It had a good impact on us and it brings you to think about life and all the happenings around you. And I’ve to say that the body world team has been very helpful and friendly to us, so that they even revalidate our ticket, cause of our delayed train. Thank you so much again and hope to see you soon. 😘

Really nice museum. It was very well organized and very interesting. Also the interactive activities (such as blood pressure measurement and body score calculation) were a nice addition to the exhibition.

Absolutely incredible. By far the beat thing you can do. The information and visuals are astounding. You will not regret visiting! Such a good place to being children for them to learn. It's over 6 floors which has a lift snd toilets. Also includes a body scan for free at the end which was pretty cool!

Very interesting place if you‘re not disgusted by human body parts. You can learn a lot about the human complex and it‘s diseases. On the other hand you‘ll see a lot of explanations about human happiness. I can recommend a visit!

Very, very good experience. This is a wonderful exhibition of plasticized human bodies and body parts. I found it fascinating. You can look at the bodies from multiple angles. The text with each exhibit is very interesting and in both English and Dutch. The staff at the entrance were very friendly. This is well worth the money.

Very cool experience. It’s sorta bitter sweet because you’re looking at past human lives. But there is such a strong educational value in how it’s all presented and put together. Would highly recommend this for 14+ age groups. As an adult it was very cool to experience and well worth the money. Plan on spending approximately an hour inside the exhibit.

Amazing! So interesting and very well explained. It's interactive throughout. The organs and bodies are well presented. Definitely worth the money. If you take reading all descriptions seriously allow a good amount of time. I read some and not others and was still in there for around 1hr 15.

Very interesting, impressive and educational museum about the human body. Currently (nov '21) there is an exhibition about happiness. It's intense and also shows diseases and smokers lungs etc. But you can ignore those parts if it's too much for you. And great if you need to stop smoking. 😅 Our daughter of 5yo is very interested in the human body and loved the museum and (free!) treasure hunt they had. That made our visit extra special. I highly recommend it! Staff was also very friendly.

An exhibition worth visiting if you're interested in knowing more about the human body. The whole exhibition is spread across four floors so there is much to see. A nice ending with the body scan as well.

I've been trying to see this exhibition for a while now, since they have a travelling setup, but haven't been able to catch it. I was thrilled to see there's a permanent installation in Amsterdam. This is something really special and really fascinating to see. It trully drives home the fact that people are all the same no mater the race, age, religion or anything. To see in real detail the inner workings of every system of the human body is amazing. They really try and tell a story through the exhibit and you can learn so much. Absolutely a must see.

Must visit & experience this place.. there is so much to learn about our human body & thoughts. Visit this place, and you will be surprised how our body functions. How happiness and our thoughts affect our entire system. Highly recommended..

The Body Worlds is a museum that is worth seeing if you are interested in the mysteries of the human body in all it's (gory) details. Virtually all the exhibit are made from real human body, treated and plasticised to allow us to see all the different tissues that make up the different "layers" of our bodies,, including muscles, bones, nerves, other soft tissues and even blood vessels. The exhibition is spread over five floors and all very well presented. Each floor is dedicated to a one system of our body, although the stand-out exhibits are the ones showing a full human is different postures and being able so see who the body reacts to the performing different actions. There’s a couple of fun machines to take measure of your body, one for testing your blood pressure and the other for measure body composition. Well worth the price of the ticker for more than two hours of entertainment.

Very fascinating museum. If you have a job in a medical background like doctor of pharmacist: you are not going to learn a lot of new things. The information of the museum is very basic biology. Nevertheless: really interesting seeing REAL bodies and parts of bodies of REAL humans. Also loved that they added doing a full body scan at the end.

My visit to the Human Body World Museum was an enjoyable and awe-inspiring experience. The museum provides a comprehensive and scientific view of the human body and its workings. The interactive exhibits and explanations were clear and easily understandable for everyone. You can explore the organs and systems and grasp how they function and relate to each other. The staff was friendly, helpful, and patiently answered all my questions. The Human Body World Museum is an excellent place for learning and gaining scientific knowledge about our amazing bodies. I highly recommend it to people of all ages who are interested in understanding the wonders of this incredible human being

Absolutely stunning ❤️ Body worlds is a unique exhibition that shows you how the body works. From birth to death and everything in between. Everything is done so respectfully and has so much information on how your body works. If you're a knowledge buff like me, this is a must-see. We were not offered the audio guide, which was a pity. I'd recommend asking for it. But even without the audio guide, it is worth it. There are enough information plaques that you can read and understand everything. We took our time looking around, and it took a little over 2 hours (without the body scan at the end). Was a nice ending to our visit in Amsterdam 🤗

Amazing museum. You can learn more about human body and happiness. I loved fun facts about happiness and tips how you can be more happy. The expositions are various and really interesting. You can measure your body condition at the end of exhibit. There were small queue there. There is a map with happiness level by countries. I wonder what data they used. It looks weird for me. Not crowded overall.

Fantastic and amazing place to visit and enjoy the great experience with very well preserved human bodies and organs for demonstration. This place is very well organized and designed as well as illustrated by the donated human bodies which show many ways of life including harmful effects of alcohol consumption and tobacco use, cancer and the beautiful blood vessels dissecting techniques. They show various systems of human including nervous system, cardiovascular system, etc. Very easy to understand with the hilarious illustrations and descriptions. PS Dear Body Worlds staff, We tried everything inside including body scan, swinging on a swing like that beautiful lady demonstration, mood recognition etc. Many thanks for your hospitality and warm welcome. So much appreciated, fun and enjoy ourselves. Hope we can be there again.

We enjoyed our visit here, as medical students the information tables were pretty basic but we very much enjoyed the museum (1.5-2 hour stay). You can see there was a lot of hard work put into this place and it’s also a fun visit, as there are interactive pieces on almost every floor. At the end of the tour we had a free body scan, it was a nice add to our pleasant visit.

This was my second visit, as my daughter wanted to see it. I remember it bigger and more impressive. It was okay, some really cool plastinated bodies and parts, but it felt somehow limited and sobered, as if many of the items I had seen before were no longer there. Many good explanations, tho, in both Dutch and English. Don't pay the full price; it is not worth it. We used a discount we found online.

Highly recommended! They have a well organized tour, with explanatory signs. It may seem like just another biology class to many, but it is quite illustrative. Suitable not only for children but also for adults who have no idea about the anatomy of the human body. The only thing to improve (but it doesn't depend on the place) is that some visitors believe that they are the only ones doing the tour and are quite rude and disrespectful.

This was incredible! Quite surreal to think the veins, organs and everything else was donated body parts - very cool! It’s very interesting, and would be a great school trip for biology class! Highly recommend if you’re in Amsterdam, plus the body scan at the end is a good indication to know if you need to diet and exercise after your trip! 😂 The museum is big, with each level for different parts of the body & functions. We paid on their official website a few days in advance, no queues and wasn’t busy when we were there (midweek about lunchtime)

Price (3*) - a bit high. shouldn't raise anymore Exhibition (4*) - Quite interesting but a bit thin in decoration and sometimes it could be a bit flat. The audio guide helps a lot but cost in addition. result: seeing it one time should be fine but the exhibition itself should be a bit more colorful, should be a good journey.

Really enjoyed this museum. The explanations were really on point and well presented. People of all levels of knowledge can enjoy this museum as long as they are passionate about the human body. The floors are divided by subjects, so you can decide what's more interesting to you. It's a bit pricey but for me was definitely worth the visit.

As a doctor I was really looking forward to visit this museum.. and it exceeded my expectations! 6 floors with each system of the body in each floor, i spent about 3 hours and it wasn’t enough.. i was hoping to stay more as it was a fun way to learn about the human body, its also amazing for kids to learn and enjoy at the same time.

  • 5/5 Jamie M. 4 years ago on Google
What an experience and informative couple of hours! If this is your first time in Amsterdam the Body Worlds is a must see attraction! You will learn things about the body you wouldn't expect! You start at the 5th floor right at the top and work your way down the stairs or elevator for disabled access. Each floor consists of different parts of your body beggining with the head and brain right down tho the feet and toes. Being able to see real muscles and tendons and in different positions definitely gives you a different perspective on how you think about your own body.

(Translated by Google) Body Worlds is a beautiful museum where the human body is displayed without shame. And that does something to you. The way you look into the body of preserved, deceased people shows you what a powerful machine the human body is. At the same time, the exhibition shows you all the vulnerabilities of the human body and makes you think about your own mortality. Besides this powerful effect, the exhibition itself is not very special. The focus is mainly on showing the preserved people and body parts. You will be taken to the top floor via an elevator and you will start at the first part about the brain. After this you descend per floor to a lower part in the human body. The exhibition is about happiness, but this feels a bit separate from what is actually displayed (namely all kinds of diseases in the body). In between, some interactive media has been added, but it doesn't really stand out. The preserved bodies are much more interesting! All in all, well worth it! Even if it is only to realize how your body is built inside. Be amazed by what you look like on the inside!

Museum is at the city centre, can be visited for 2 hr approx. It has around 5-6 sections based on different body functions. It has a lot of models of body parts along with its information. I felt it more suitable for school children. But if one likes science and biology, then it can be fun for anyone. One time watch.

Very interesting exposition of the human body. Educational and intriguing, fun for young and old. I was wandering around for a little more than 2 hours. At the end there is a body scan to measure your stats!

Having visited the Birmingham Real Bodies exhibition this was on my list of things to do while in Dam, absolutely wonderful trip and Arjen on the door was hilarious

Cleverly laid out and simply explained, this took us through the whole body. Fascinating detail and information, sensitively presented. I particularly loved all the little mindfulness based quotes around the museum. Thoroughly recommended - and do allow an hour and a half to take it all in.

I have visited many exhibitions of body worlds in different countries and can say that this one is very nicely setup. We love the signs in the staircases and how interactive elements were incorporated. I will absolutely go again

Great museum well worth the money! Be prepared to leave the museum with the realisation taht our bodies are complex and fragile systems who can break down easily. We spent about 3 hours reading everything and taking our time. The place itself was not crowded.

Enlightening trip to Body Worlds a day after King's Day! I learned a lot from the exhibition over several floors related to the body and happiness. Did you know, for example, that over the course of a 75 year lifespan the heart pumps enough blood to fill more than three supertankers?! And I appreciated the care taken by the front of house staff like Jim, Andries (if I remember correctly) and another nice lady who helped me with directions. They all helped to make my visit a happy one. What a great time at Body Worlds and, generally, in Amsterdam!

A remarkable place to visit, myself and my children learnt so much. I worried that my children would be uncomfortable but they were fascinated and asked loads of questions. Very interactive and engaging. We booked ahead, got there an hour early but was ok to go in.

Really cool place and staff were really nice. The two young pretty ladies on the reception desk were lovely & friendly and also gave me a treasure hunt booklet for my little boy. It was quite busy (think a school trip were there) but still very interesting. I do think it's probably better suited to older children but my 5 year old still had a good time. The gentleman at the end of the trip was very nice aswell (I think his name was Arie)

Amazing experience and would recommend to anyone who wants to know a bit more about the body or even students would get so much information. Wonderful experience

Strange but interesting experience. The real bodies and parts really do show you another level of understanding of the body. The blood pressure and body scan are a great interactive part of the visit. Price worth it.

I do recommend this place to visit. This place is something else you can see things that you were never imagined. You will see with your own eyes. The ticket price is really good stuff is really polite and if you visit Amsterdam I would definitely go and visit this unique place.

Very interesting, I would not recommend it for the feint of heart or those who do not like graphic scenes. All of the body parts shown are real and there are "corpses" on show for educational purposes. The educational aspect of it is fascinating

We didn't prebook and there was no queue on a Monday lunchtime. The exhibition is over 7 floors and has some interactive sections such as blood pressure and body analysis. Interesting to look at the human body and the workings and I personally didn't find it too creepy.

We really enjoyed our visit to Body Worlds Amsterdam! It was really interesting, it was jarring seeing the human body in so many ways, especially with the sculpture of the body just with blood vessels - it made me feel weird. They also had wee cards to fill in at the end and hang on rope, so many stories of people’s experiences, it was really sweet. The only issue we had is the blood pressure monitors they had out didn’t work and it was too busy for us to scan our bodies at the end. But other than that it was a fun wee educational activity!

A cool way to learn about our own body and also see how our organs are impacted by smoking (almost all bodies presented in museum had grey lungs) or other bad habits. Made me rethink my life choices haha

I'm sure it'd be great for kids but after coming out I did feel a little underwhelmed for the price. Exhibits I'm sure will have cost a lot to put together with many many hours of work in the plastination process but I felt overall the experience was flat and not worth the price. There was a question when leaving about what staff made the trip worth it, but the truth is we only saw two members of staff and they were at the front desk. Took our transaction and nothing else.

I would like to say that this museum is an experience. It's great to learn stuff about the body and is very interesting. Definitely one of a must to go see when in amsterdam.

Informative and very interesting museum (albeit a little morbid) but an eye opening experience to say the least. Staff are really friendly and helpful too, especially Arjen. Would recommend visiting in the morning (10am) to avoid the crowds.

The exhibition at Body Worlds is educational and enlightening. It provides a unique opportunity to learn about the human body, its intricacies, and how it functions. The various exhibits offer a comprehensive look at the human anatomy, from the skeletal system to the circulatory system and beyond. Each display is accompanied by clear and concise explanations that make complex concepts accessible to visitors of all ages. One of the standout features of Body Worlds is the sheer number of exhibits. There's a diverse range of specimens, including preserved human bodies and organs, all of which are thoughtfully presented. The attention to detail in the displays is impressive and adds to the overall educational experience. Whether you have a keen interest in anatomy or simply want to learn more about the human body, Body Worlds in Amsterdam is a must-visit. It's a thought-provoking exhibition that provides a deep understanding of our bodies and how they work. I left with a newfound appreciation for the complexity of the human body and would highly recommend this exhibition to anyone seeking an informative and engaging experience.

[visited in December 2023, very soon after opening hour, ticket bought in advance helped to get in quicker; lockers available for inexpensive amount paid by card] A six story building on the very busy Damrak hosts one of the most popular attractions of Amsterdam. Some - but far fewer than in the original traveling exposition - of the Gunther von Hagens world famous plastinated human bodies can be seen here, together with middle school level explanations of how the various body parts and systems work. Find a less popular time slot (check out Google) and plan for a 60-90 minutes visit.

We were passing by here while in Amsterdam yesterday, and had an hour to spare. There were no queues and the entry fee was very reasonable. The exhibition was amazing! The 6 floor exhibit is truly wonderful and educational. I’d highly recommend this to anyone young or old. My 14yr old loved it, once she quickly got over the fact that the bodies were all real.
