The hostel is very underwhelming. The bar is not really bar, it doesn’t feel super nice, the common area is not a space you want to spend time in. The kitchen is the only common space that’s kinda nice. The rooms are not great but super clean, and the staff is lovely and I felt very safe. The location is fine if you have friends with you. Biking is easy and it takes 25/30 minutes to the city center with all the bars. I wouldn’t recommend this hostel for solo travelers.

Would only say it has an excellent location next to the station (expensive train trip for 1 stop to central station), nice area for small kids to play, and the lovely cleaning staff but otherwise would not return.

I loved that this hostel was basically the quality of a hotel! So clean and modern. Definitely one of the best hostels I’ve been to. Your room is cleaned everyday and it’s in a convenient location. There’s a Starbucks and the train/bus station literally next door. Another great plus is the 24/7 front desk. The people working there are very kind and patient. The only thing that I didn’t like was that if you book a bed in a dorm room it comes with a square locker, but 1) it’s not big enough to fit a regular sized suitcase & 2) they don’t provide a lock for free. If you don’t have one on you, you can buy one for 7 EUR. I think the least a hostel can do for you is provide a lock so that you know your belongings are safe around strangers. Overall, a good experience and would recommend to people.

Unfortunately the toilet seat and handle were broken. One bed had already been repaired several times. One evening you could clearly hear the neighbors. At breakfast there wasn't enough choice of sausage and cheese, otherwise everything you need. Otherwise, the rooms were big enough for 4 + dog. Very conveniently located, unfortunately getting around without a bike in Amsterdam is very expensive. Very friendly service staff.

Really close to the train station. Super clean and staff are friendly. There are a few convenience stores nearby at the train station which aren't too expensive. Also, being only a couple of minutes walk from Sloterdijk station is really useful! Stayed here with my partner, we like that it's family and pet friendly as it makes it feel safe. Would recommend and would stay again :) the only downside is that the shop inside the hotel is very very expensive and you have to pay to use the luggage rooms

Great location, great service & furthermore great price! Booked last min for 2 nights as missed connecting flight & couldn’t have been happier with service received. Staff are super friendly. As always with all hotels keep your belongings safe and lock your door when you leave but this is common knowledge anyway! Id like to personally thank the staff here for my great stay:) only a 7 min train to central and the hotel is right next to train station so honestly couldn’t ask for more. Thank you to you all

It was a perfect stay for me. Me and my 3 friends came to Amsterdam for two nights. Even though we payed for the mixed shared room, the reception put us in a 4-person private room. It was a great detail. Apart from this, it is actually not a hostel, it is huge hotel also offers cheap rooms. I felt so safe when I was at the hostel, and sheets, towel are changed everyday. It was only 6 minutes from the center by train. You can't walk to the center but train a great option. If I come back to Amsterdam, I will definitely stay here again.

Wish I could give less than a star. We were overcharged by around 250€. The hotel refuses to honor the price we were given on Booking.com. I would have booked a better hotel for the price we paid. Also, there were blood stains on two of the blankets. I mean a little bleach would’ve probably taken care of it. Just yuck. The room was tiny which we can handle, but like I said not for the price we actually paid. Also could not turn off AC. Continuously blowing on me all night. The sound and the cold was annoying.

I arrived earlier than the usual check-in time and had some issues with the booking and payment, but the staff was very very patient with me, helped me through everything and had always a smile for me. The room was lovely, the bed very comfy and nice. The bathroom size surprised me, it was bigger than i expected it and it made my stay even more comfortable. Whenever i needed some help with my plans for the day ( how to get somewhere, which bus, etc. ) they took time to help me out happily. I rarely stayed in a hotel before, that was so open and welcoming to a guest. Thank you soooo much, i will come back to stay again.

This is my second stay here. Both times I was appreciative of the proximity to Sloterdijk station with trains, metro, and buses. Reception was very helpful, even assisting us with printing our train tickets and itinerary! Thank you! The little shop downstairs was convenient for a late night bottle of wine without leaving the hotel. The private room was clean and bare-bones, but that also means you're not paying for anything you don't use. Would stay here again.

Upon initial arrival the reception area looked clean and staff were fine, not what I would call friendly or welcoming but it didn’t bother us really. Our room was fairly clean besides some minor holes and stains in the bedding, the decor was acceptable but slightly outdated. In regards for value for money,I’d say it’s quite good. Unfortunately, I can’t say we had a peaceful nights sleep. We were disturbed several times each night by what sounded to be screaming teenagers running up and down the hall. As far is location is concerned, the hotel is situated right next to the train station which is fantastic. In summary,I don’t think I would stay here again just because I felt unable to sleep well, which is important for me when I’m on holiday.

It is definitely an excellent hotel for a short city trip to Amsterdam. The location is very pleasant. The room was very clean and the service was really good. The only thing to complain about is that you couldn't open the windows, which made it very stuffy. It was also a bit louder at night due to the pipes and the sound of the water was rather unpleasant. But otherwise everything was great!

I am quite happy with this hotel's assistance. The room was comfortable and tidy. The hotel has an excellent atmosphere. Next to the bar is a gaming room. Within the hotel area is a little store where you can get cold drinks and snacks. The kitchen is the finest part of this place since you can wash your clothes and cook spaghetti, pizza, or sandwiches with your friends.

Stayed in a private room. It was clean and simple. Unfortunately there are not a lot of restaurants near by but the train was very close to take you to anywhere in Amsterdam. Our only really negative experience was that there was a bar across the street that blasts rave music at all hours… we could here it all the way up on the 6th floor

Stayed here for a short weekend getaway. It is conveniently located to public transportation, nice selection for breakfast, friendly staff and games for family/children. They also have a bar downstairs and a shared kitchen for anyone desiring to cook. I was a little skeptical to book at first but I am happy I did. This will definitely be my families choice of hotel when visiting Amsterdam.

Despite small defects, I felt comfortable here. The hotel is well located and you can reach the city within 10 minutes by train and 30 minutes by subway. The mailbox and shopping opportunities (groceries) in the immediate vicinity are also perfect. The hotel is modernly furnished and perfect for people who are young at heart. However, I find the parking fees at €15 per day very expensive. I have now paid €260 for two nights in a double room with breakfast and parking fees. That's a lot of money for young people.

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at, super organized, very clean, great room structure and very comfortable beds. Very good that the rooms are cleaned every day and towels are changed frequently. Also the location is great, it is possible to access tram, bus and train walking only 1 minute from the hotel, and from there you are in 20...30 minutes in the city center. Parking is also very good and not expensive. Negative point: During breakfast hours, or check-in and check-out times, the elevator is very busy and sometimes it is necessary to wait several minutes for an available elevator.

  • 4/5 Nicholas M. 10 months ago on Google
Good experience at this hotel. Room was small but clean and modern. Location is good as it is beside the train station and easy to get to central Amsterdam quickly. Staff were professional. The price for storing a bag in a locker was a bit steep considering many hotels don't charge for this. There were no options for anything between 2 and 24 hours. I only needed to store my bag for 3 hours but had to select the 24 hour option. Overall vibe is casual/catered towards backpackers which is good if that's what you are looking for.

I'm from Taiwan and I think this restaurant is great. Very close to the station, there is a supermarket. The room was clean and the staff cleaned and changed towels every day. The public kitchen is clean and convenient with complete kitchen utensils. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit Amsterdam. I would like to express a special thank you to our waiter James. I just asked him how to get to the bus station, but he said he could take me there. Even in Taiwan, such warm, friendly and trouble-free waiters are rare. I think he treats everyone as a friend and his kindness is commendable. He declined my tip. I‘m really grateful to him. I can only give him Taiwanese pineapple cake. This is a well-known bakery where you have to queue up to buy. I hope he will like it.

Excellent location close to train , metro and tram that may get you in the centre of the city quickly. Our room didn't have a trash bin and even if we asked for it at the very dirst moment, we didn't get one. The heating system was not good . It's ventilation but we didn't get a warm feeling. Rooms are clean and well preserved

I did book a Private Room in this Hotel during the Amsterdam Dance Event. Room was small but well furbished. There is no clean service unless you ask. Staff Is friendly and check-in was fast. Recommended if you are looking just for a place where to get some sleep and have a shower during your visit in Amsterdam

Such a good experience! Absolutely friendly staff, room and comum areas well clean, they provided towels, good duvet and there was a nice bathroom where I got a deserved shower. After that experience I’m booking them for Poland and Czech as well as I’ll be there in a week. I would suggested them had a look at menu foods for dinner, it doesn’t look attractive if somebody it’s starving. Thanks for welcoming! Cheers

Check in was really easy and hotel very convenient if arriving by bus (literally next door to the station). Room was slightly odd in arrangement with 7 beds but two beds originally pushed together - luckily easy to separate otherwise I would have been sleeping next to a stranger! But room very big and airy with all beds having a light and charging point. Also good to have toilet and shower separate as ensuite. Towels also provided as standard so great if you're travelling light! Breakfast buffet great with loads of healthy (and not so healthy) choices. Pretty expensive for a shared hostel room, but very high standards!

One of the best hostel I have ever stayed in, located just 5-9 min walking distance away from the metro. They offer you with multiple options when i comes to choosing a bed or room with good price range. The kitchen, dining, receptions are open all night and their breakfast is really good. I am coming to stay again for sure

I have never been to any hotel that treats you so poorly. NOT CLEAN! Shower was filthy. You ask stuff something and you get !Rude! Answer back. It says hotel but its actually “Hostel”. It is a living space for students every morning, hallway was full of people laying outside their doors and no one cared about them. Overall worst experience i have ever had.

Very nice colourful hotel in a perfect location with very comfortable beds and pillows. Is ideal for young people on holiday as it's decently priced and has common social areas near the reception. Furthermore, it is also great for families

The location is perfect if you come by Flixbus. And just 1 stop away from the Central station. The rooms are cleaned everyday. The layout of the room and the attitude of the staff is 4/5 as compared to the other MEININGER branches. And all the games and things are paid. But still a far better place than many others.

I do apologise. I thought I had given 5 stars in my first review but clearly had not. This place is amazing value for the money. It is right next to the station but is very quiet. You also have a Spar supermarket where you can get sandwiches and wraps to take out. There is also a Starbucks next door. The staff at the hotel were lovely and very helpful. Would definitely recommend this hot, especially to people in their seventies like me!!!!

  • 5/5 Jonny G. 4 months ago on Google
As a family with very young children, they couldn't have been more accommodating. The place is amazing, and the kitchen area so useful is looking to travel on a budget. The option as well though for good there and the bar area mean you can still treat yourself. Couldn't recommend it more

Great location for a group get away. Only a few stops on the metro and we were into the city. Located next to a spar offering food to eat if you don’t fancy hotel breakfast. Breakfast on site was well stocked. Brilliant common areas and staff really friendly and helpful Look forward to visiting again.

I just spent a night here because I wanted to pick up my partner from the airport early in the morning so the location of the hotel was perfect! It was also an appropriate price, I stayed in a 7 bed dorm and it was overall clean and agreeable, nothing fancy or outstanding but didn’t expect anything of the like. Only the doors were a bit annoying, sometimes the key cards wouldn’t work and people were stuck outside or someone would have to get up at night to let the other ones in. And the shower was a bit shabby but otherwise a good stay :)

It is right next to the train station so it's very convenient. The staff is very friendly and I didn't personally get food from the cafeteria but the people I was with did and said it was very good. The only problem we had was that the ac couldn't be turned up to more than 23 degrees and it was very cold inside the room.

My husband and I recently stayed at your esteemed hotel for four nights. Regrettably, our breakfast experience was consistently disappointing throughout our stay. Each morning, we encountered a lack of essential breakfast items such as bread, ham, and boiled eggs, significantly diminishing the quality of our dining experience. On our first day, we arrived at the breakfast service approximately 15 minutes before closing time, at 10:15 AM. Despite this, and our subsequent earlier visits around 9:45 AM in the following days, we were met with the same situation - an inadequate selection of food items. When we inquired with the supervisor about replenishing the buffet, we were informed that no additional food could be prepared at that time. This response, unfortunately, made us feel unwelcome and undervalued as guests. Furthermore, on our final day, we waited 25 minutes for boiled eggs, only to leave disappointed. The recurring lack of attention to restocking essential items and the unaccommodating responses from the staff significantly impacted our overall experience. We felt a sense of disregard for guest satisfaction, which is not what we expected from an establishment of your reputation. The room could be more clean.

Very good hostel with in-house kitchen that allows you to depend less on supermarkets and packaged food. The place is near a transportation hub so you'll not have a trouble going in and out of the city center. The ambiance is pretty. Really good value.

I stayed in a one bed bedroom. Everything works pretty well. Good bed, good size bathroom with hot water and everything, super tiny TV, right next to the metro and train station, friendly staff... I just think it's a bit expensive for a simple hotel like this. Maybe it's just Amsterdam prices...

  • 5/5 Hanna C. 2 years ago on Google
Great location right by the train station. We had a big family room which was very spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable and great breakfast. We stayed there with the kids and they loved the bunk beds! This is apparently a 2 star hotel but I'm not sure how as it certainly exceeded all our expectations. I've stayed in 4 star hotels before that weren't anywhere near this good. We'll be staying there again on our next visit.

  • 4/5 Wongyu K. 2 years ago on Google
The location is good and the price is also reasonable. This MEININGER HOTEL has good rooms for 4 family members. (2 single best, 2 stair bed for kids.) Everything is good but I would like to point 2 things. 1) The space is so small, so if possible, I recommend that the shower/WC door would change to the sliding type. 2) As far as I remember, there is no Ventilation fan, Of course, there is A/C. but it would be better there was a ventilation fan in WC or bedroom. The reception crews are so kind. (including a beautiful woman... ^^)

I had the 1 person room, which was fine. But nothing more than that. The room was small which I knew so that's okay. It wasn't very clean (lot of dust besides that is was clean) and the shower didn't work properly but the bathroom was overall nice and modern

When we arrived, the personal was really lovely and nice! the prices for the room are cheap and the room is fantastic and clean! I recommend this hotel very much, they also had a Guest Kitchen and we just cook there to save some money, it was by train just 5 minutes until the Amsterdam Central Station and by walk 50 minutes.

This is a lovely place, just one train stop from Centraal. The staff is super friendly, the decor very modern and trendy, and the rooms very clean. They have a lovely kitchen area, a great buffet breakfast, and a game/bar area.

Everything was good in the hotel. Staff in the reception was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well equiped. One negative point, the toilet was not clean and no toilet paper was provided when I came to the room

  • 5/5 Samantha C. B. 2 years ago on Google
It is a bit far from city center, but it is right next to the train station. Get an unlimited train pass and you'll be golden, it's only one stop from Central Station. Nice clean rooms, friendly helpful staff. What more can you ask for? Oh yeah it has a guest kitchen as well, not to mention the bar inside the lobby (so convenient for those relaxing nights)

  • 4/5 Mark W. 2 years ago on Google
Great price for a decent facility. Quite far from city centre but excellent public transport capabilities next door. I personally had a quiet dorm so did not meet many people as you may anticipate in a hostel. Not sure if I'd recommend as a short stay solo traveler but otherwise great venue.

This hotel was pretty spacious. He we can can nice pool and other playing items. This hotel have inclusive bar and the have good sit-in arrangements. They also have kitchen that we can use. Though the rooms were well maintained. The main thing in this hotel is near to bus and train station. It's recommended to stay in this hotel in Amsterdam.

Nice hotel, breakfast buffet is good, BUT there is absolutely no cleaning during the stay. We stayed 4 nights and requested cleaning every day but without success. The hotel has a lot of young people staying: spring break, schools etc so expect some noise.

I had a good experience. The hotel has a kitchen where you can prepare your meals 24h. The rooms are clean and bathrooms has a good shower. The hotel's location is fantastic, there's a lot of public transport to the central station or anywhere. It takes 10 minutes from the Schipol airport by train. I recommend.

I had a great time here at this hotel. They have friendly staff, there's luggage service but you do need to pay, the shared kitchen is amazing, the location is near the tram. The room which I stayed (Room of 5 Persons) was clean and they do have shower gels too.

This hostel was just perfect. So conveniently located right at the train station and with a great supermarket right next door. You can make your own food in a super well-organized guest kitchen and always use the common areas. Very friendly staff and people. Very clean overall. Recommend 1000%.

My experience in this hotel was excellent. The personal is kind and problem solving, the rooms are extremely clean and with towels changed everyday, the staff is welcoming and available 24/7. Since is a 8 floors hotel the view is amazing and there is so much light!! If you are on a solo trip this hotel is for you cause you are going to meet incredible people in the lobby or the shared kitchen!

I booked a 7 bed and ended up in a 3 bed, which felt like an upgrade at first until I realized I was in a room with a couple that snores. Thankfully, they were quick to switch me the next day to a much nicer 4 bed dorm! The rooms and beds were very nice and comfortable, and the staff was all very helpful. However, since I booked last minute I didn't realize how 1) far out of the city center it is (25-45 minutes by tram/bus depending on what time of day it is) and 2) what an antisocial place it is for a solo traveler. Because my room was small, because there were mostly groups of other people, and because there's not really a cozy common area there isn't much opportunity for meeting new people if you're in a room on your own. However, it was a very nice place to relax!

  • 5/5 J A. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely stay, I stayed with 4 friends and it was a great experience. Breakfast was very nice, the downstairs area is great, and you can’t beat the close proximity to the station (maybe 30 seconds walking!) rooms were comfortable, bathroom was very nice and spacious. No complaints here, would stay again.

Great hostel, totally worth being outside the city center. The women I shared a the dorm with were quiet and considerate, and the hostel team regularly refreshed the room. Very clean, however beds were quite small and uncomfortable for me, personally. Right next to the train station, while also being close to the bus. This is a top notch place!

Clean. Well Organized. Near to the train station. Car parking behind the hotel. Check in check out easy. You find everything you need for urgent things! Paying with card. The rooms are good isolated so you can good sleeping. I liked it!

The guy at the front desk was rude when we checked in. The room wasn't ready when we came back at 10pm. We were mad. My husband wanted to book another hotel for the remaining days. I went to the reception. There was another worker. His name was Sandro. I complained about his colleague and the dirty room. He apologized for the room. He was loyal to his colleague. That was impressive. He gave us a new room. He was super polite and helpful. The hotel is in a good area. The breakfast is great. They also have a supermarket in the hotel and washing machines for guests. The prices are good.

this hostel is very nice!! we got to go in a private four room even though we paid for a seven mixed room. which was sick!! the staff are friendly and helpful—they gave me a bag of ice when i asked which was lovely because my friend’s foot is in the process of falling off. it’s also literally right next to the train/tram station which is very convenient.

This place is super nice and clean and the security is super tight the location is a little far from the center but u have all the connections at the walking distance. There is a super market across which has everything you want as the stuff available at the ground floor of the hostel is super expensive. The only issue we kept having was that key cards weren't working which was super annoying. Apart from the they are not really flexible with the checkout though represent late checkout only in this case I think a&o hostels are better .

I like to use cash — it’s empowering and comes without cost, but seems this hotel accept only credit card forcing you to get into debt or incur banking fees. Not cool. Otherwise comfortable beds and reasonably clean — bathroom could do with clean and top up of shower gel and soap. Not so hygienic to see empty soap containers.

Overall our stay was just fine however for the price I would expect a little more in terms of cleanliness. There were obviously spots throughout the room, especially the bathroom that were not cleaned well before our arrival. The hotel was quite busy with many teen groups which was not a problem for us however in the evening time it did get quite noisy. The parking was 15 per night which was a good price for a nice secure garage. The big bonus is the location as it is right next to public transport.

Very simple rooms, but fine if you just need a place to sleep and a bathroom. Very conveniently located next to a key transportation hub with trains, the metro, and trams. Very quiet. Good breakfast buffet. I just wish they offered earlier check-in options to travelers arriving on overnight flights. Surely some rooms are clean and ready before 3pm!

Great experience. We stayed at a 4 beds room and with the Covid 19 rules we got to be alone in the room which was amazing. Additionally the receptionist were very kind because they prepared the room way earlier than the check-in time, since we arrived very early in the morning. The rooms were clean and very modern. People took care of the shared kitchen and it was cleaned everyday. I would recommend to stay there!

  • 3/5 Jeffrey B. 10 months ago on Google
If you’re visiting alone and don’t mind a hostel (sharing space), then it’s fine. For small groups, they have private rooms on the higher floors but the 24/7 partying in the lower level is a distraction. Again, this is fine if you know what you’re getting before you book. There’s a washing machine and kitchen, however, they’re way too small for how many people are there at any one time. We had to wash the same load twice to get it clean. The machines are abused and not well maintained so beware of that as well if you intend to use these services. Location is great as it’s two minutes by foot away from a major rail station and a few grocery stores. All in all, it’s fine. Didn’t hate it but didn’t love it either.

When booking online we booked a 7 bed mixed room and then to our surprise we were put in a 4 bed mixed room. I thought it would be nicer so we stuck with it. Until we found out we were just shoved into a room with someone who has been living here. He was loud, obnoxious and wildly drunk and high every night. As a female, it made me feel very unsafe. If you know someone has been staying at the hostel for an extended period of time why put us in a room with them. The cleaning was nice but sometimes it was overwhelming when sitting in the common areas and someone is literally constantly vacuuming around you. Could not go out there at anytime without someone vacuuming or mopping the floor. They would also come in our room to clean while we were in there. Once we were in bed relaxing after a busy morning and were kicked out of our room to clean. We said we didn’t need new sheets because they were our beds and she continued to take the sheets off and make us move anyways. The hostel also felt like a hotel. No small hostel feel at all. Beds were also super close together. You are essentially sleeping in the same bed as a stranger. While the bunk beds are shoved into the room to make it feel even smaller.

The hotel is well located and you can get into the city within 30 minutes by subway. It is modernly furnished and the staff is very friendly and explains everything in detail. However, the plumbing ran through our room and everything could be heard and the beds are really hard. If you are traveling by car, you should look for something else besides the option offered for €15. I couldn't rate breakfast.
