I tried staying at this hotel while visiting from the states but I canceled my reservation and left. This was by far one of the worst hotels I stayed in. My room smelled funny, the floor was dirty, the chair had stains and was ripped, there was stains on the walls, my bed legs had weird spill marks on it and there was a draft from the window. I was so surprised I immediately called my credit card company since I booked it through them. I went to voice my dissatisfaction with the front desk but they said this a standard room and there’s nothing wrong with it. They refused to give me a full refund or provide accommodations to a different hotel stating “they gave me the room I booked.” And they said if I want a different I would need to pay for an update to executive suite or business suit. I was so appalled I searched for another hotel that was equally priced but a lot better in terms of cleanliness and smell. Staff wasn’t bad but they didn’t try to help at all. Ver very disappointed.

Rooms very tired and dirty, we had a broken blind and lamp in our room. Booked the hotel on accreditation of 4 star, was certainly not a 4 star hotel. Major renovation needed. Would recommend spending your money elsewhere

Their rooms and beds are spacious. The location is a bit out of the city centre. However, the price we got this hotel was very low. The staff were courteous and newly built. The facilities at the hotel were amazing. I loved the hotel and lobby is well decorated.

Stayed at this Hotel last week for 4 nights and overall it was far from a 4 star experience expected from this Hotel. Staff were friendly and very helpful. However this is probably the only upside to the Hotel. The location is not bad with tram and metro a 10-15 minute walk away. The hotel itself is very deceiving as it does not look as good as it does online, the cleanliness was probably the most disappointing as the room was not clean at all with hair found around the room. The cleaners are also not the best as it was hardly recognisable they cleaned the room the next day. We were not given clean cups or glasses each day and were made to wash and reuse our own cups. The worst part about the hotel is the room. The air conditioning does not work meaning the room is hot at all times and the door would constantly vibrate making it difficult to sleep at night. The gym facilities are awful, literally a treadmill and some freeweights. The lounge and lobby is also closed at most times and is not very exciting anyway. Far better hotel’s around the area which I wish I would have booked Instead.

Booked this hotel thinking it would be nice and clean. The rooms were extremely dusty. The lamp in my room did not work and had alerted the front desk and they said they would get it fixed - not sure if they have - The breakfast food was ok. Nothing too special. Quite far from centraal amsterdam but there was a tram stop a couple minutes away. The staff were nice and maintained. The only fault I have about this hotel is that the rooms are extremely outdated. The mattress was thin piece of foam? And the rooms were very dusty and kept quite unclean. I think they should hire better cleaners or come up with a better cleaning plan. Other than that the stay was great. Also the ice and water machine inside the hotel looked as if it hasn’t been working for a long time.

By mistake we booked a superior twin room, a room with 2 seperate beds. When we want to change to an equally priced room, we had to pay more. The receptionist was very cold with us. The room was dirty & dirty. Everywhere was dust. The service in the restaurant was bad and the breakfast itself was not worthy for a 4-star hotel

Overall not awful. Hotel room interiors are tired, mattress topper had a moderate stain on it (vomit looking). For the price hotel was acceptable, staff were very diligent and helpful, hotel was probably four star worthy a couple of years ago… not so sure now.

Everything is good except for the location. If you planning to take cab then you can ignore the location point. But if you are going to take tram/metro/bus then location is an issue. Even though the nearest tram is 10-15 min walk, I felt after roaming around whole day, this short walk feels like a very long one.

Have just stayed at hotel. Not impressed at all. The cleaning was bad - dirty cups and glasses left unwashed. Only bed made. A 20 minute walk to tram. Far too far from City Centre - expensive for what it is. Web site says they have a mini bus into town centre for 5€. It does not exist. You can buy City passes got varying times and prices. I had hardly walked through the door when I was told I had to pay the local taxes there and then. The hotel had been paid for in advance so was not impressed. I could have waited until I checked out. The bar didn't stay open up to 11. Always seemed to shut early. I booked hotel in conjunction with Eurostar - never again. Boom separately.

This is only my experience, Room large with all the commodities, fridge, kettle, tea and coffee Bathroom: found a long hair....not good Bed: sheets folded or not nicely ironed Temperature : cold or with noisy air conditionning. Breakfast not included 12 min walks to the bus stop + 15 min bus to the airport. Experience ok

A great hotel with the softest bed I ever encountered. Great food, great staff and great connection to the city. We will return!

The hotel is outside of everything. Only food for conferences. Although you can be with one tram in 45min at the central station. They have a nice terrace next to some water. Drinks are a bit expensive. The lunch and dinner buffet was not impressive. The bathroom was not equipped with everything what such a hotel should have (ears ticks was missing)

Great hotel and friendly staff. Just a minor issue - the beds were joined together but not clipped into place so left us with often sinking in the middle of the bed. Otherwise a great artsy hotel

Nice terrace, very cozy lounge seats, great bar! (Secret tip: Once a month they do BBQ's on the terrace, definitely will go there again) The staff is very friendly, Dimitri, Thomas and Teddy were very friendly and courteous.

They let us check in earlier in a not ready room. When we point that out about it few hours later, another manager couldn't believe it and after checking the room with him he repeatedly said that it was our fault and we had to report this situation as soon as we walked inside the room in order to get another room. We were waiting for a cleaning lady to show up, but nobody came. They changed our room but still why did we get assigned to a not ready room in the first place? Apart this inconvenient the room was great and there is a handy supermarket just outside.

Stayed at the Dutch Design Hotel for a business meeting with 70 guests and it was a success. The meeting room facilities were very good. The staff were extremely helpful, they really went above and beyond to accommodate my requests. They helped me organize a successful meeting and I'm grateful for that. Would recommend for large business meeting, the location is also ideal for travellers, as well connected to the airport.

We love staying here. Perfect for us. We used their bikes and toured the city all day. They were very comfortable to ride. The train stop isn't far. Everything is nice and walkable

Just come back from a short stay at the Dutch Design Hotel Artemis. The room was great, very clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helped with all queries/questions. The location was also great, not too far from the number 2 tram stop which leads straight in to central Amsterdam. The hotel is also not very far from the airport which is a plus. All in all no complaints, would highly recommend.

Excellent room with great shower. The staff were very friendly and helpful. An added and surprising bonus on this hotel is the wonderful bicycle rental they offer. The neighborhood is very quiet and serene and there is a park very close by which is perfect for rides! The only con is the location which is very far from the city centre and the nearest tram station is a 10 minute walk away. However the hidden oasis the hotel is located in makes it all worth it. Additionally, the restaurant is amazing, with the mushroom pasta being a must try for anyone dining there.

I have no idea how this hotel gets it’s 4 star rating. The fridge in the room doesn’t work and the service leaves something to be desired. My husband asked for sauce for fries we had bought while out and a gentleman at the restaurant was rather unpleasant. When complaining to reception about the rude staff, we were told the hotel loses money from people asking for free sauce… like really how much can you be losing for the odd packet of ketchup?! In the first place they could politely ask us to purchase the sauce which we would happily have done. They gave us the sauce and apologized for the rude staff member but honestly that is not 4 star quality service. Definitely would not recommend or come back.

The hotel was super nice and super friendly staff. Everything was clean & we were able to check in early as well as checking out later. It is a bit far from inner city but we knew that when we booked. Was no Problem to catch the Train.

Practically this hotel is awful. The room doors are not soft closing so if they're let go, they slam. This slam then makes the large wooden headboard (which is at least 75% of the ceiling height) bang against the wall too. When placing items on the wooden side tables, also attached to the headboard, this can again be heard from neighbouring rooms. Finally, the light switches attached to the headboard can be clearly heard when being switched on neighbouring rooms. I'm confident we disturbed our neighbours at least twice late at night as we went out our normal bedtime routine of simply turning lights off. House keeping seemed focused on speed, we walked past another room and saw them running the hoover round purposely banging into the floor lamp and chair purely to get done quicker. When they were in our room, the bed was not made, replacement loo roll not supplied, dust was everywhere, no was hoovering done. Tea, sugar, coffee and milk all missing from the room. None of the draws or wardrobe doors are soft closing either, more noise. The other hotel staff were wonderful.

To start off with, the lobby is nice. I stayed in a superior twin room, which was decently sized. The room overall was not bad, nothing special, fairly clean. However they only give you one pillow, which is very bizarre. Also, the bathroom door does not close properly and does not have a lock. The shower isn't the best, it does the job though. The bathroom in general could be cleaner. They have AC in the room which is always nice. A bonus is they offer a bike rental service for 18 Euros per day which is a nice convenience. The surrounding area is very quiet and nice to ride in as an added benefit.

This hotel was advertised as "close to the city center of Amsterdam" ... well, it isn't ... not even close! Don't get fooled like we were! It's situated in a business park near the highway but quite far from the center! On top of this, the tram line which was supposed to take us to the center was out of order. Result: we had take our car (even then, it took about a 15 minute drive to the museumplein, which is still outside of the town center). Given that parking in Amsterdam is outrageously expensive, we would have been better off to stay in the center of town. (We ended spending about 100 euro in parking fees)

Rooms are not really that clean. Toilet door and floor in the rooms were very dirty. Standard facilities, no biscuits! Ironing board in the room. Spar shop next door closes at 8pm. Self check out on site at €4 a beverage.... Bike hire available at double price of local rental. Staff are pretty good and helpful. Small walk to transport to town.

It was a great stay for 3 days. The hotel is very close to business offices and is not too far away from the city center. Bike rental service was great. Nearby there is also a cheap supermarket which is open until 8 pm. Staff was nice and helpful.

Quite far out, 10 minute walk to both transport lines. Room was clean enough, some dust but I'm not picky. Nice big TV and windows. Staff helpful, 24hour shop with drinks and basics next to reception, spar right across the street.

Second time staying at the hotel, it’s a little further out from the central, however, the #2 tram takes you right into the city in 25-30 minutes. The hotel is in a nice neighbourhood, there is a Spar nearby which is very good, the hotel itself also has a 24 hour area to buy snacks and drinks and is very convenient. An Uber to/from the airport is around €20. The rooms are very spacious and clean enough, staff are very helpful too.

Good hotel, no complaints. Staff very helpful, good breakfast, decent restaurant. Only 3 stars for location because unless you are working in the (plentiful) nearby offices I would see no reason to stay there

So so. Think before book. Reception woman who did check in for us so kind. She must work in some 5* hotel. So far but quite. Housekeeping can enter your room immediately after Bell door, without giving you even 30 sec. Can trow your clothes on the floor too. My socks been missing 😪

Excellent hotel. Room was very spacious, clean, good size television. Staff were very helpful, spoken very good English. On our final day, let us leave our bags at no additional charges. Spar next door which was really convenient, the lobby also has a selection of food and drinks 24 hours. Don’t be put off by the location, walk 5 minutes and board the #2 tram which takes you to the city centre for €3. Also, it’s only a short bus journey to the airport. Would definitely recommend!

Lovely hotel. Helpful staff and cosy rooms. Very quiet. Clean and nice to come back to after a day out. Only downside is a little bit far out from main city but once you have got your head round the trams it's not a major issue.

😐 It is a large, somewhat impersonal, completely unshaded and extremely noisy campsite (we were in the tented section).Noisy because there is a large multi-lane bridge nearby, which is still very busy at night.
