This hotel is by far the loudest place I have ever stayed in. Even after midnight, the noise from the reception downstairs is unbearable. If you're willing to pay a hotel price for an experience comparable to a loud hostel, then this is the right place for you. However, if you value a peaceful and quiet stay, I strongly advise against considering this place.

I booked a room for two nights for € 397.67(very pricey) at this hotel in 2019 to attend a festival in Amsterdam but then pandemic happened and things changed completely. My friends who booked other hotels somewhere else either got refund or credits to use whenever they can plan to visit Amsterdam but this hotel kept on insisting only giving voucher for six months and you will have to book in that time even though we had different covid variants coming in 2020-2021. I tried to explain them my situation and festival I was coming for has been moved to some other city so I requested them to extent my voucher for 2022 and I will surely book my hotel and visit there but they dint listen to me and told me if i dont book then I wont get to book anything in 2022 and here we are, I had to let go € 397.67 as there was still pandemic in 2021 and I countn't book anything, this hotel has been taking advantage of pandemic and would never ever come here and make sure my friends wouldn't either. Update- I had to add this to my review after owner's reply so this hotel thinks they are not liable to give even voucher to customers when their hotel was shutdown during pandemic? And let me tell you 2020-2021 was very much affected by pandemic and even Amsterdam had lock downs so how would anyone in right mind plan to book at your hotel...lol

Stayed here four nights in the start of February. Nice rooms, friendly staff, but I did not like the neighbourhood. Did not like to be out after 21. Close to public transport taking 15 minutes to city center

The hotel in my opinion was very modern looking and welcoming. The only thing I would say its just not in a pleasant area but has great supermarkets to get too which we loved and food places. I would highly recommend the cedar restaurant which is 8 minutes away from the hotel. (Halaal) It is modern and clean inside and I loved the vending machine’s they had for stone pizzas ice creams and various other vending machines. They have bar area and restaurant separate which was nice and the team on the desk were pleasant. The tram system is great not to far from hotel However this hotel is little too far from main attractions, including Central and entertainment area but is 30 minutes away so it’s not bad. You will need a travel card which cost 30 euros for three days and we used it every where with no problem. I want to give a great shout out too Agija who was helpful and pleasant with our stay and I’m sure she will remember she shared the story of skittles to us. Breakfast is good! No complaints.

I recently stayed at the Best Western in Amsterdam and overall, my experience was decent. The room I was given was on the ground floor and unfortunately, did not have any outside view. Additionally, the air conditioning unit only produced warm air, so we had to keep it turned off throughout our stay. However, the room was clean and the breakfast was satisfactory. On the weekends, the hotel could get quite busy. In terms of value for the cost, I would say it was average. Overall, it's a decent option for a budget-friendly stay in Amsterdam, but be aware of the downside of the lack of natural light and malfunctioning air conditioning.

We loved this place. They are comfortable with you smoking outside which is cool. They then have coffee/ tea vending machines, pizza vending machine 24/7 and Ice cream and snack vending machines. Their breakfast is bang on. Heaps of bread, pastries, sausages, mushrooms, bacon, eggs and unlimited juices and coffees. Mind you the guy who runs breakfast doesn’t muck around, if breakfast ends at 10:30am, you can be sure he will be telling you to leave at 10:30am so be aware of that. Other than that, the room is clean and the access to the nearest tram into town is only 500m walk away. Beds are comfy and rooms are cleaned daily if you like. For the price I think this place is hard to beat. Check in is quick and friendly. We have been here twice, once for 3 nights and then decided to return a few days later for 5 nights. Can’t fault this place for what you pay, much love from Australia 🇦🇺

Great location - yes. Really overpriced, unfortunately not the same level as you know it from the other cities of the same hotels. The air cons working very loud, so even if you have the windows on the other side from the highway, it's still very loud. Pillows were extremely cheap, but normally comfy. Do not extra purchase the breakfast! No value at all! Omelette and all the juices are from powder, no taste at all. Coffee machine was continuously broken or without milk. Everything was so tasteless and totally cheap. I'm very sad, because I have not expecting such a level from the Best Western hotel...

I liked everything. The hotel has nice breakfasts, I liked the food. The room was spacious and clean. It had some tea and a kettle (love that!). My friend had a pizza from the pizza vending machine at the lobby and said it was delicious. We mostly spent our time at the city center and the museums and it was easy to get there by the tram number 2. It seems that there’s no nightlife around the hotel so if you’re coming to hang out at the coffeeshops and bars maybe you won’t like it that much. Overall I didn’t expect the place with such an affordable price to be this great

Great budget hotel We stayed for 2 night here. Reception was welcoming as soon as we entered in. The hotel has kitchen too where they serve food including coffee and alcohol. Our room was clean and comfortable. Best part was the mattress. I slept like a baby on their bed. But there was no kettle or iron in the room. We had breakfast too which €12 per person. They were serving scramble and boiled eggs, sausages, cheese collection, salads, types of cereal, fruits, different pastries and bread. We enjoyed our breakfast. Having said that there is 8-10 mins walk to nearest tram to travel to central Amsterdam, its an important tram which takes you all the important destination.

Good Hotel. It is all like it is described. Room was clean and you get fresh towels every day. You need around 20 minutes with line Number 2 from the station "Westlandgracht" to the city. To get there you need to take a 5 minute walk. All in all a good hotel for a very good price.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights, as a group of four friends. During our first night, they gave us a terrible room, which was really cold and with an extremely small bathroom. The next morning we complained with the guy at the reception, and we were immediately given another room, which was way better - and it was like three doors away from the first night room! The second room was nice, warm, clean and with a modern bathroom. Overall we enjoyed our stay, since the hotel is close to public transportation, but I felt like they tried to cheat us by simply giving us the cheapest room as we were a group of four young friends.

My recent stay at Best Western Amsterdam was underwhelming. The front desk service was particularly frustrating, as the staff member was not only unhelpful regarding a request for split payment, but also lacked basic courtesy. This put a damper on the entire check-in experience. Room cleanliness left much to be desired. I found hair on the bathroom floor, raising concerns about the thoroughness of their cleaning process. Moreover, the bathroom drain was visibly malfunctioning, which is unacceptable in a hotel of this reputation. A significant issue for me was the automated air freshener system, which released scents every 10 minutes. This was especially bothersome as I suffer from asthma, and such strong fragrances can trigger health problems. Overall, the hotel did not meet my expectations, especially considering the standards typically associated with the Best Western brand. The combination of poor service, inadequate cleanliness, and the problematic air quality significantly marred my stay.

Pretty basic hotel at the Southern side of Amsterdam and well connected to the city centre with trains and buses. The room I stayed in was spacious but the washroom was quite small though we did not need to spend much time there. There were a safe box and a small fridge but the room had no view as we were in the middle block where the window looked out to a corridor. This hotel seemed to be popular among Germans as we saw a lot of German car number plates. After all, it was quite expensive but that seemed to be the issue of Amsterdam where living standards are quite high.

Rooms are simple, but beds are comfy, good shower. Food was badly overpriced, and poor quality. Location is 30 minutes by train to Central Station where most of what you want to see is. But Front desk is very knowledgeable and provided great customer service

This hotel barely meets the standards for a 3-star rating, if not less. I didn't witness any efforts to exceed expectations. The facilities, although present in name, aren't very convenient. For instance, the gym is only accessible between 9 AM and 9 PM, while breakfast starts early but ends at 10 AM. If you plan to exercise and then have breakfast, you're likely to miss it. The bathrooms were cleaned where you use them, but there were still brush sprays left on the side, and some fittings were loose. The AC functioned well and could be controlled, but the AC blower fins were filled with dirt. The reception staff was genuinely helpful, but there's a catch – you have to deposit 20 euros to borrow an iron and ironing board, which are often unavailable. Instead, you might be offered a travel iron. On the positive side, the hotel's location is convenient, and the breakfast and reception service were satisfactory. However, there are several drawbacks, including the hotel's policies, limited gym hours, and inconvenient timing for various services.

Everything would be fine if not for the soft mattresses - far too soft. Breakfast and dinner are the same every day, but they are tasty. There is air conditioning in the rooms, unfortunately too noisy at night. Opening the window means noise from the highway. Moderate prices. The car park is fenced and paid.

Terrible hotel, this was my 9th best western hotel, but after this one i will never stay in a hotel of this brand, I arrived early the lady in the reception was kind and welcoming i asked that the bill for the parking and hotel will be on separate receipt, they said no problem, gave me the room key, arrived to a room with NO WINDOWS to the outside, only to the corridor, i went back and they gave me another room, the walls of the room were paper thin and i could hear it all from the room next to me, the shower floor is flat and therefore the water does not drain properly and create a pool of water and since there is no mop, it all just stays there after you shower for a long time, the water temperature of the water keeps shifting between hot and cold which was also very annoying. Upon checkout i asked for my receipt but the rude guy said just no, it is impossible and refused to talk to me and moved to the next person then continued to ignore me till i left.

I was shocked by the qualities and experience !!! We had issue with the heater and the reception wasn't even interested . He literally tell us he can do nothing . I almost bagged for a second blankets to pass the night . Also the pillows and the sheets wasn't clean ! We had to buy our own from the city. Honestly I wasn't a good experience and the staff didn't try to do any commercial gesture to ease our stay !!! They didn't even ask us to change the room 🙄.

Stayed here over the weekend, staff were all great and we were checked in quickly. The lady behind the desk was dealing with a difficult customer which caused us some delay, we were given some free drinks vouchers for the inconvenience which was a nice touch. Room basic, but we literally only needed a room to sleep in and didn't have high expectations, plugs were blocked which wasn't great for the morning shower!

Rooms were decent and hygienic, one of the affordable ones. There was no sound insulation. The heating was pretty old fashioned and slow, no thermostats. The price was decent given the location but the tourist tax they charged was exorbitant 50€. There was a lot of hassle in payment as Indian credit cards were not accepted, so had to wait in the lobby for a while.

We stayed there for 4 nights and The rooms were nice and spacious. However, on the second night, our Air conditioner wasn’t cooling at all and the staff said it was centrally controlled and nothing could be done. And we were then later given a table fan. I think the management needs to look into this and not let this happen to another guest who pays so much just to have a good stay.

Close to tram station where you can take no:2 to go to city centre quickly. The beds are very comfortable and facilities of hotel is enough. But unfortunately some rooms look to inner backyard which is not good. So I recommend to book a room with an outer view.

Great hotel! Nice room, had everything we needed. Has food on site and great location near train/tram. Maybe a 7 minute walk away. Staff are helpful. We arrived early and they let us secure our bags, while we waited until our room became available. Safe neighborhood for walking, with cafe and markets within walking distance if you didn't want to eat on site. We ate all you can eat BBQ 2 nights and all you can eat breakfast 2 mornings. All very tasty.

If you want to go to Amsterdam by car, but use public transport within Amsterdam, then Best Western is a great location. Just a few hundred meters of the highway and close to bus and tram service it was the perfect location for us. Our 3-beds room was big enough with good size bathroom. Room service does not vacuum every day. Breakfast is good but as dinner there is only a buffet available. Internet allowed streaming on all mobiles, unless when sitting behind the bathroom wall.

Me and my friend unicycled across the Netherlands. There was a lot of tricky back and forth stuff we had to do and they were very accommodating! They let us leave our unicycles there for a month for free while we backpacked in other countries. Even when we did not end up staying there again, as planned, because of the sudden passing of one of my family members our experience was great for the nights we did get to stay there. Staff were very nice and helpful!

The hotel is well reachable with public transport and also easily reachable by car. They have a big parking space at fair rates. Unfortunately the rooms are quite simple and look more like a converted office space. Also the bathrooms are horribly cramped. Might be acceptable for a business traveler, but certainly not for a holiday. Also it’s located in a rather poor neighborhood and women will probably not feel safe alone. In total I‘d recommend looking for somehing else.

Stayed here for 4 nights, the actual hotel is OK but after the first night I noticed my headphones were missing. I placed them on the table and then went out for the night and when I came back they were gone. I'm not claiming a staff member stole them, but it's quite suspicious that they were placed on the table and then missing the next day. Overall a decent hotel but be careful of your valuables.

The room is bigger then I thought before, I’m glad the have air conditioner and refrigerator in the room. The location is not bad, you can walk to tram station for about 10 mins. About 20-30mins to the city center by tram. But the cleaning part is quite disappointing, we live for 3 nights, the last day we go back to the room, we see there was dirty water in the cup and put in the washing room.

Clean and good hotel. Short tram stop ride to Central Amsterdam a short distance away. Rooms cleaned daily, but no breakfast included. I paid 12 uros for it daily and it was ok, but room for improvements. They did a really nice pizza in the evening in the hotel. Staff were friendly!

Not recommended at all! If you want to be freezed in winter, choose this hotel. very very cold room, super uncomfortable bed. We asked for double bed but got twin beds, so unfriendly staff. They do not have any facilities in the room, not even a boiler.

The rooms had no windows that could be opened, the bathroom no ventilation. When you shower the bathroom gets kind of flooded. The toiletpaper is transparent. The room smells because of the lack of fresh air. The closet had no doors and the whole building seemed like an renovated prison. The breakfest has to be ordered a day before during corona. They brought us food we didnt order and forgot things we did order. So it happend that we didnt eat everything (in total 4 buns and 4 eggs, 2 slices of cheese and and the stuff we didnt order). The hotelmanager came to our tables and shoutet at us for ordering to much. He didnt even tried to be nice. He didnt even introduced himself insteat He startet with:“What is this ppl are dying in africa!“ We totaly understand the problem of foodwasting but its about how to speak up a problem. The quality of the food could be improved, but the scrambled eggs and bacon was okay.

The room was clean, comfortable and fairly spacious with an on suit shower room of a decent size. The room was very warm as it didn't have airconditioning but was provided with a small electric fan to move the air. The breakfast was not good value for money so it's better to avoid. The hotel is positioned about 10 minutes from the tram stop. The tram passes some of the most interesting areas of Amsterdam and arrives in the centre in about 20 minutes. The parking in the hotel is secure but you could unload and park outside saving a good sum depending on the duration of your stay. Check it out with Google. Overall, good value for money considering the position and costs in Amsterdam city.

Let me start by saying I was here for about 20 days and have seen how slowly all the facilities at the hotel were opening 1 by 1. The best part about the hotel is their staff always trying to help and very friendly. Breakfast: Good spread and always fresh. Lunch and Dinner: Not open yet Bar: Open Parking: Ample parking space for hotel guests Location: Very close to tram and bus stops so one can get easily anywhere. They also sell day passes for public transport at the hotel. Rooms: Are quite spacious, not all of them have a view They also have bicycles on rent.

We had 2 night stay in BW Amsterdam, rooms were clean and neatly maintained. Although location is not at the centre of Amsterdam but it can be reached within short time. You can get trams trans metros by a short walk. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

Nice hotel, well connected to the center and the airport. The pizza machine is a hit! Cons: soap and shower gel were not refilled and were already almost empty when we arrived. Also, we found a used towel and socks from the previous guest. This wasn't terrible, but could definitely work on cleaning and maintaining the rooms better.

I didn't stay at Best Western Amsterdam, but I had to leave this review because the staff was amazing at helping me and my brother. My brother almost slept in for his flight home. He wasn't answering his phone, and I realized that he'll be late if someone doesn't wake him up. So immediately I called the hotel's front desk and explained the situation to them, and asked them to wake him up. They acted quickly, and managed to wake him up in time for him to make it to his flight in time. Just wanted to say thank you to the hotel staff who were really friendly and helpful, you guys are the best! Cheers!

Our 5th floor room was nice but only had one window that opened a couple of inches. It was so hot the 3rd week of June we could not sleep. Much cooler outside.

  • 3/5 Ana V. 1 year ago on Google
3.5 stars from me. The room was spacious enough to spend a night or 2 and quite clean. The rooms located at the side of the road are quite noisy to have the window open during the night and hot during the afternoon. The sun is on that side for the full afternoon so if you don't have the airco on, it feels like entering a sauna. Service was good, checked in quite smoothly. Breakfast was also ok, not a lot of options in terms of food, but acceptable. Location perfect to get around Amsterdam and also to the convention center.

Just a little visit in the city. Not in the center this is what we looked for. Tram in 500 m - easy access to city center, 1-1 ticket to and back. Free parking. The breakfast could be better, but okay. Room was clean and big enough for few nights.

I got here with 3 other persons, we took one room. We didn't eat anything at the hotel. The entry is beautiful. The employees were good, they took the time to explain everything. The room is spacious, good for 4 persons. It looks modern, but was dirty. There is clearly a lack of hygien. Dirt on the desk, dirt on the tv, dirt on the fan, dirt on the plugs... (Look at the photo: i put my bag in the wardrobe) The bathroom is pretty but it lacks storage. When we arrived, we didn't have toilet paper. But when we asked, it was fast to get served. Everytime someone was walking on the room above us, something metallic was vibrating in the ceiling. It waked up us many times.

Rooms were clean and basic. What really turned us off was the customer service...or lack there of. Everyday we had an issue with something and nothing was done in ways of apologies. Manager was respectful and nice, but problems still happened. Not only to us but also the rest of the group we we're with here. Will not return.

Very bad costumer service. I was unable to book room online and hoped that they help me at the location . The man with a beard was rude.No help. All his look was trying to send us away from the hotel. He laugh and said that we are rude. He did not even give us phone number of his manager. Do not go to this hotel. I would leave 0 stars for the costumer service!

Very satisfied with this hotel. Great value for money. Decent sized rooms with all the necessary equipment. Good sized bathrooms too, cleaning service is good as well, everything was sparkling clean. Great stuff members and amazing breakfast with lots of choices. Location is quite good too, quiet neighborhood with lots of parking space around and 5 minute walk to tram stop. Will definitely be staying there next time I visit Amsterdam.
