2/5 Apartments N. 1 year ago on Google
Old,
tired,
in
need
of
restoration,
and
understaffed.
The
hotel
must
have
been
stunning
in
1866
when
it
was
built.
Today,
it
feels
sad.
The
room
seem
like
it
hadnât
been
touched
since
the
1980âs.
âDrapes
donât
closeâso
light
comes
in,
âThe
couch
looks
like
one
that
was
in
my
college
dormâmy
wife
suggested
we
put
a
towel
down
to
sit
on
it.
No
joke,
âI
would
recommend
slippers
for
walking
in
the
room
as
the
rug
in
our
suite
looked
filthy.
We
rolled
it
up
and
put
it
under
the
couch
â1980s
heat/ac
system
so
you
have
to
guess
at
the
temperature
settings
by
how
far
to
set
it
in
the
blue
or
red
â
To
say
something
positive,
the
sheets
and
towels
are
crisp
and
clean.
Staffing:
I
feel
sorry
for
the
staff.
They
are
very
nice
and
try
hard,
but
the
hotel
is
thinly
staffed
âwe
called
to
confirm
our
reservation
a
day
ahead.
Had
to
call
three
times
as
no
one
answered.
On
third
call
we
let
it
ring
10+
minutes.
They
answered
and
said
âthey
is
no
one
to
help
you,
we
are
very
busyâ.
I
hadnât
had
this
experience
beforeâa
precursor
to
our
experience
âwhen
we
arrived
there
was
no
one
to
help
with
bags.
My
wife
had
to
go
into
the
hotel
while
I
waited
on
the
street.
(The
hotel
has
a
big
flight
of
stairs,
and
we
thought
the
must
have
a
ramp
or
luggage
entranceâotherwise
we
would
have
just
brought
the
luggage
in
ourselves).
She
asked
the
person
at
the
Reception
desk
if
someone
could
help
us.
It
was
late
and
the
hotel
was
completely
empty.
He
said,
âMy
colleague
is
very
busy,
I
will
do
it
myself.
â
and
came
from
behind
the
desk
to
help.
(Very
nice,
but
Iâve
never
seen
this
before).
But
only
2
staff
for
a
200
room
hotel?
OVERALL:
This
may
have
been
a
5-Star
hotel
in
the
1990s,
itâs
definitely
not
today.
I
think
most
of
the
reviews
must
be
paid
for,
they
canât
be
real.
