For the price of the room I expected better.Cleanliness is must regardless of the price. As we checked in we wanted to put our food we brought for the next day in the fridge. The fridge had leftovers and half eaten salad bowls in it.when calling reception, they said to wait till the morning and speak with the manager. In the morning they cam to take out the debris but didn't wipe nor properly clean the fridge.Since our food stayed unrefrigerated,we had to throw it away!! No compensation was offered,we asked for breakfast but would have to pay ! Overal bad experience.coffee station was not cleaned nor refilled so the next morning we we left without coffee.bad services and no manager available as was said

Avoid this hotel!!! Unless you are completely comfortable to see your partner defecate and urinate, you will be very uncomfortable. The bathroom consists of semitransparent glass cubicle. You can totally see inside. And it illuminates the whole room. So if you go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, you'll wake up your companion. The room is dirty as it is not cleaned properly. We found hair in the shower and bed. And something resembling excrements on the soap dispenser. The hotel attracts shady kind of people. You will not feel safe, especially if you are a woman. The smell of weed outside is constant. Sometimes it gets in the rooms. Everything, including the sheets is old. The rotating door is a bit dangerous. The breakfast is pretty bad. Coffee is bad. The juice is not real juice. The charcuterie tastes weird. Even the scrambled eggs are bad.

The best room they have to offer needs maintenance in both walls, pipes and heater, which by the way couldn't make the room get warmer than 18°C and the water it's just a little warmer than that, making a terrible experience to use the bathtub. Also the walls are too thin, you can easily hear any noise in the hotel, specially during the cleaning of the rooms and guests arriving late. The good part is that the room is comfortable, have a nice space and design, it's well clean and quite modern, in general it's not a bad choice for the right price.

Hands down, the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. We asked to be moved to another room after discovering there was an issue with the shower head that was causing the bathroom to flood. The concierge had a terrible attitude about the ordeal and refused to change our room until housekeeping inspected it the next day. After housekeeping determined it couldn't be fixed, we had to rush to change rooms because they showed up late and caused a delay in our day. In the haste to leave the room, I left my adapter behind, which caused yet another back and forth with concierge. In the new room we discovered that the curtains and window sill were filthy and the sink did not drain properly. I reported all of this and a few other issues we had during our stay to the manager. He did not resolve the issue on the spot. Instead, he told me to send him an email outlining my complaint. It took him an entire month to finally respond with an offer to stay at the hotel for free for one night. This did not make sense to me because 1) I live in a different country with no plans of visiting Amsterdam in the near future 2) I would never step foot in this hotel again after such a horrible experience. A partial refund would've been an appropriate and fair offer. All of this to say, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. I have no idea how this kind of service was given 4 stars. You can find far better accommodations closer to the city center for a similar or cheaper price point.

I don’t understand how this is a 4 star hotel honestly. Cleaning was poor, old sheets, breakfast was very bad for a 4 star. They tried to do something cool with the bathroom but there is no privacy and you wake up everybody in the middle of the night since it illuminates the whole room. Also the curtains were dirty and the corridors were the ones of a pension more than a 4 star hotels. People were weird: I’ve been in other hotels in Amsterdam and people were not in the terrace smoking weed. Also some of the staff were very unfriendly.

I feel the need to leave this review to warn other women who are thinking of staying at this hotel, alone or not, or those who are due to stay here in the future. We stayed at this hotel in 2019 and had such a nice time we booked again but unfortunately now won’t be returning. The hotel is in a great location near a metro station and the hotel is overall nice, however, an experience on our last day left me feeling very uncomfortable. I left our hotel room to use the toilet on the ground floor. On my way back up to our hotel room, I was alone in the lift with a male who worked at the hotel. I stood by the door, and he was stood very close to me and asked ‘how my day was’ which was a normal thing to ask. However the conversation then changed and he commented on my appearance and asked me whether I was staying alone at the hotel, to which in answered ‘no I am staying with my boyfriend’. By that point the lift had reached the floor that I needed and I quickly exited. He followed me out and saw which room I had gone into. Guests should be able to feel comfortable in a hotel and if it wasn’t our last day, or if I was a woman staying at the hotel on my own I would have cancelled our booking and stayed elsewhere. On our departure, I informed the reception of what had happened. I would advise any woman staying at this hotel to be very cautious or stay elsewhere if you can!!

I visited the Netherlands for the first time on a business trip. I was impressed by the hospitality of the taxi driver from the airport to the hotel and expected an enjoyable stay. However, my expectations were dashed in this hotel. First, we were assigned a room that was considerably lower grade than the room we had reserved. I requested a staff to change the room to appropriate grade, and he promised to assign a room which to be checked out the next day. However, when I returned to my room the next day, a female staff member claiming to be a supervisor told me that she had never heard of such a situation, and the room was not changed. It was humiliating and unforgettable to see this supervisor sneering at me when she saw me in trouble. I would like to think that this is not related to my Asian race. It also took 3 days to respond to a request to change the bed sheets because they were soiled. As such, everything I requested for had been in this fashion. I don't know if this kind of service is standard in the Netherlands, but it seems to be a problem with this hotel, as all the people I met during the stay were friendly.

We had a pleasant stay at the Ozo Hotel Amsterdam. The fact that the location is a bit further out of the city center didn't bother us, as you can get to the metro station within 5 minutes and Amsterdam Central station within 15 minutes. We found the hotel to be very clean, the room was spacious, modern and well equipped. We especially liked the bathroom with the glass wall. Beds were also very comfortable.

The hotel wasn’t bad. Stayed for a night before moving to another hotel . Wouldn’t recommend staying for long at all. A four star hotel is not what I would call it. Maybe a three star. It’s very basic, room very small, bathroom quite tight. Don’t get me started on the horrible night we had, could not sleep at all because we could hear the drainage system of I’m assuming the surrounding rooms, through our bathroom. Every maybe 5/10 minutes there was a very loud flushing/drainage noise that kept us up all night. It was very frustrating. Due to the room being small meant the bathroom is basically part of the room , just separated by a glass. Aside from that there was a cracking sound coming from the doorway that sounded like someone was attempting to enter the room. It was quite frightening. I did report all to staff but they said there’s nothing they could do about it 😕 The breakfast was expensive(17.50 pp) and nothing to shout about. Very basic and not tasty. Undercooked croissants and absolutely watered down juices and a broken toaster. Thankfully only 1 of us paid for it The location wasn’t bad I guess, it wasn’t far from the train station

I accidentally booked my room to a wrong date and requested a change and help from the hotel. The night reception told me that they need to talk to the manager to reschedule it, later on I noticed that my booking was canceled and I got charged 80% of the booking price. So basically I paid for a room that I never stayed in. Thank you for your hospitality.

Probably the worst stay at a hotel I’ve experienced. Shower faulty on arrival and couldn’t be repaired, it was suggested that we just put up with it but I requested a new room understandably. This couldn’t be provided as it was a Saturday so the hotel was fully booked which is fair, so we were promised a room swap the next day. This never happened and we had to put up with a faulty shower the entire stay. We had accidentally spilt coffee on the bedding so requested fresh sheets, we were told it wouldn’t be possible as there were no cleaners so had to sleep in them for the night and they’d be changed next day. They weren’t. We ended up sleeping in the sheets for 2 nights. We had also requested towels which were never seen. I’ve been trying to get in touch with the hotel to raise a complaint however they have ignored my email. Location is okay, 30-40 minutes or so into the centre by metro which is the only highlight of the hotel. I would recommend avoiding if you intend to shower and sleep in fresh sheets

the Receptionist were kind. The room was horrible, is lived down so hard and dirty. The room Service just cleaned the Bath but leaved the rest of the Room untouched. Breakfast had a very small and bad selection of food. compare to other 4 Star Hotels, this one is the 4 stars not worth! we were very happy that we have done our stay, after that we were in the Van der Valk Hotel, they saved our Experience!

Everything is very good, just remembering to inform them when you want to change the bedclothes, otherwise they will do the cleaning correctly but only change the bedclothes if you make the request. the breakfast was great the price paid for the 4 day stay was great. I recommend.🙏

The hotel is located less than 5 minutes from the metro station from which trains depart to Amsterdam Centraal station every <10 minutes. The room are pretty good and the sound isolation is extremely good. The breakfast choices are well stocked and lots of things to eat and drink available. Staff are friendly and ready to help you if need arises.

Rooms are very big however not maintained well. My bathroom was very dirty. Unfortunately my colleagues who stayed in the Hotel as well mentioned the same. Stains in the bathroom and hairs. Cleaning service needs to definitely improve. Staff very inexperienced and not trained in the way they should be. Overall a disappointment. It was a business trip but I will definitely avoid Ozo in future.

The hotel was okay, but the service was really bad. We wanted to rent bikes for which we had already paid, but which turned out to be broken. After we said that at the reception, we were just rudely sent back outside to check more bikes. After 30 minutes we had looked at all the bikes and found that all have defects - they were not in good condition. Why this is not checked before taking money for it and then leave it to the guests is a mystery to me. When we then simply wanted to cancel the bike rental it was said that they do not know if that would work and that we have to clarify the next day with another person. What an impertinence. So we had to spend about 45 minutes the next day to show another person the defects and then fight longer that we at least get our money back, after we have already put so much time and nerves in it. At first, they only wanted to give us back part of the amount. I just can't understand why they would be so uptight about canceling obviously defective bikes and leave the customer with a bad feeling (for 2 days). So it's best to not rent bikes!

The Hotel is because of its location next to the Sport and event arena' s top but only for this reason. The online pictures are, in my opinion, no longer up to date. Cleanliness is only adequate. The Service personnel were a mixed bag, some were helpful and polite, others were not. The fixtures and furnishings have seen their best days. Breakfast is a large buffet with something for everyone however the Bacon, eggs etc were not even remotely warm ( not a singular occurrence ). The remedy was a short blast in the microwave. Would I visit the Hotel again, no. There is a choice of Hotels in this area.

30 euros to park for the 2 nights, no reserved spaces, if they are full its tough and you dont get your money back. Room is ok, beds comfy but the bathroom is a disgrace. Poorly frosted glass, you can literally see someone on the toilet. The shower is pathetic, no pressure in the main shower head, water barely warm. The cabinet has no lip so water goes all over the whole bathroom floor. Had to use 3 of the 4 provided towels as a water barrier to stop it flooding the bathroom and the bedroom. Not worth the price despite being so cheap. I would avoid unless you had no other option.

I made a reservation at this hotel approximately one month before my trip to Amsterdam, where I was headed for a work event. Although I hadn’t previously stayed in this particular area of Amsterdam, I’m no stranger to the city, having stayed in numerous hotels during past visits without any issues. To start I needed to cancel due to personal reasons. I reached out to Trip.com to inquire about amending or canceling my hotel reservation, mainly because I had accidentally booked two hotels (pay on arrival), and no charges had been made. I also inquired about rescheduling my operation date, as I was informed that nothing could be done regarding my hotel booking. This created a significant amount of stress, as you can imagine. Additionally, I requested a room with two separate beds, as I was traveling with a work colleague who would be sharing the room. However, upon our arrival, we were given a room with a double bed instead. On the day we were due to arrive, our flight was canceled due to technical issues with the plane. We promptly contacted the hotel to inform them that this was beyond our control and that we would be accommodated on a flight the following day, which would leave us with only one night in the hotel, despite having originally booked for two nights. However, upon our arrival, it seemed as though the hotel was unaware of this situation. We were informed that we were still required to pay for two nights, amounting to nearly €500 not including breakfast or dinner. The receptionist’s attitude was rather condescending and sarcastic, which only added to our frustration. I had read reviews about this hotel before my stay but assumed that our experience might differ. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The hotel’s location was inconvenient, and the decor appeared outdated and poorly maintained. The bed had stains. Our room had damp marks, and the heating system didn’t function properly. Overall, my stay at this hotel left me extremely disappointed. In fact, I ended up booking an alternative hotel, the Holiday Inn, which provided an incredible experience at a much lower price point. The stark contrast between the two accommodations only highlighted the shortcomings of my stay at the initial hotel.

I am expecting better for a 4stars hotel. I stayed there a few times and always find hairs on the floor of my room, Should remove the plastic glasses in the bathroom, And personel could be more friendly. Dutch service is often a bit too rude for me.

We had booked one night in this hotel. Our first room was not clean the second room we got was even worse. There were hairs and stains all over the bed. We directly left the Hotel. Also the service was not good at all. They first said we will refund and then suddenly changed their mind and we needed to pay the full price even though we left due to the dirty rooms. We are not recommending this accommodation.

Great facility, location and room. Stay was pleasant. The room itself is top notch and comfortable. They are as good as, if not better than any Marriott or Hiton. Everything is in working order. I would not hesitate to stay there again. The only imperfections was its staff during checkout accusing me of not paying for the room. After a couple min of back and forth and I suggested them to check my other room (I booked two rooms) and they found the payment was bundled with that room. How could you let a guest checkin without securing payment first, so from the get go, they should investigate on their end first before blaming customer of non payment. Their attitude left a lot to be desired. It is a shame such a nice facility is stained by these individual's staff.

Good hotel, good food, maybe breakfast at €17.50 is a little expensive. Comfortable beds, clean room. Everything worked as it should. 20 minute easy walk to the Ziggo Dome and Arena

I stayed at Ozzo twice, once in 2008 and the second time in May 2023. My honest feedback is that it got worse in terms of cleanliness of the room. I personally do not recommend and would fore sure stay the next time at Jaz (which was fully booked both times). The bathroom was ok, nice and clean. But the room felt rather dirty: walls splashed with a yellowish liquid near the bad, signs of water damage on the cieling, bad, pillows and duvet certainly not 4 stars quality. The breakfest was really poor for 4 stars: average ham and cheese, eggs, average bread and cereals. No vegan milk average coffee. It's also a 15-20 min walk to Ams Arena.

Spacious room, not a bad location if you're heading to the ziggo dome or stadium (roughly 10-15 minute walk) Metro station nearby, which goes into centraal. The room was clean(ish), There were a few stray hairs on the bed when arriving. Kettle was temperamental, turning itself off intermittently the same applies for the heating/aircon. The shower is a nightmare. The big head just leaks all over the place, and the shower door does not keep the water in. The bathroom floor was flooded after a shower and needed multiple towels to mop it up. If you're having a shower, do it before the cleaners come in so you can actually have fresh towels for the next one. I tried to call reception a few times to ask for another towel, but they didn't answer The TV is not a smart TV. It's not a big deal, but most hotels I've stayed in recently with a lesser rating have had one. The TV itself is a smart TV, and when I asked at reception about the connectivity, the guy was very abrupt and quick to shoot me down about it. Realistically, this place would be good for someone on a 1 or two night business trip or if you're just going to a concert at the arena. Other than that and based on other hotels I've recently stayed at with fewer stars and for less money, I struggle to see how it is a 4-star hotel.

Awesome location (near the Johan cruff Arena. Rooms are good sized and clean. Only issue i had wan not enough light in the bathroom to get a good shave :). Breakfast was well priced with lots of options. A true 4 stars hotel.

This hotel is truly nothing to write home about. I was not a fan of the bathroom. Also, the stuff was not that nice or helpful. The hotel it’s self is close to the arena, that’s why we stayed there.

We booked this hotel as part of a package deal with easyJet as it was closest to the Ziggo Dome (10 minute walk). We read the reviews and thought it couldn't be that bad. It is! Terrible staff - they are so unwelcoming, unapproachable and have no enthusiasm. The room was clean on the surface but under the sheets the mattress was full of fluff, stains and hairs. The heating didn't work and it was -4 outside! The shower drain was blocked so on the first shower the water leaked out into the bathroom and bedroom floors. We had to use all available towels to soak it up. Leaving no towels to dry ourselves. The bathroom is frosted glass. At first you think it's adequate screening then when you put a light on it looks like you're a worker in the red light district. The communal areas are disgusting, dirty carpets, dirty lifts, gum on the stairs. One of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in!!!!!!

  • 4/5 Li-Chen L. 11 months ago on Google
I think the room is sound approved. During my stay, I slept well and barely heard any noise from outside. Room was clean, except that I found the cups were used and dirty on the day I checked in. The hotel provides real basic bathroom amenities only, like shampoo, shower gel, plastic cups, and towels. No slippers, cotton pads/buds, shaver, toothpaste, or toothbrush.

  • 2/5 Julien G. 9 months ago on Google
Where do I even start, if less stars for the service were possible, i would have given -5 stars. You book a room and explicitly say that you need an additional bed, they say it's okay and it will be done upon your arrival. Dont get me wrong the rooms were great and all and location wise you're also only a 5 minute walk away from the next station. But man I called the receptionist 4 times to ask where my bed is, starting from 9PM to 12PM and he always said it'll be done soon. I mean come one you pay a few hundred euros for one room and then you can't even sleep because there is no bed, how do you except people to accept this. If not for the fact that the rest of hotel was ok i wouldn't even have bothered to give 2 stars.

This is a lovly. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the room had a beautiful view with the best hairdryer ever. We stayed 2 nights and ate both evenings in the restaurant and enjoying both meals. There are restaurants a short walk away. The best part of the hotel were the staff. At first everything seems to be fine, but the devil is in the details. For example, one evening, after we got back to the room, there were NO TOWELS in the room, had to call to the reception, and I got the impression it was usual thing for them. The other day there were trash bags (full!) in the room and dirty towels on top of that. Good one! I mean, I saw some terrible places in my time, and this one isn’t so bad, but let’s be fair, it’s not 4-star hotel, far from it. But again, it’s not so bad ;)

This hotel is nothing like the photos, the place is dirty and the place has a smell. I would not recommend this place at all. The new management does not care about its customers they only care about money. The place needs to updated and throughly cleaned! Do not stay here!

The location of this hotel is it’s best asset. The subway stop is very close by, every 15 minutes you will be able to hop on and get dropped off at the central station in the centre of Amsterdam. The rooms are clean and the cleaning ladies are very friendly and helpful if you have any additional needs/questions. We had a breakfast included in our stay which was nice but basic. Parking is not included in the price of your stay, they charge €12,50 per day which we found quit expensive and were disappointed this wasn’t included. But all and all a good quality/price ratio for a stay in Amsterdam.

I really don’t recommend this hotel for nobody. The service was bad and the staff aren’t helpful at all. And at the check out they took my deposit, because they found in our room a paper in the bin from my brother rolling cigarette. I told them that my brother wasn’t smoking in the room but just rolling his cigarette and keep it for later, and the room was clean, so smell, No dirt. but they didn’t want to give my money back. They are not honest !

Great hotel. Spotlessly clean. Rooms were really modern with a lovely en suite shower room enclosed in frosted glass. The hotel was really quiet. The evening and morning staff were really helpful and greeted us with kind words and a smile. The tv in the room had English channels. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel and won't hesitate to book again next time I visit Amsterdam.

We have previously stayed in hotels in Spain, Portugal, France, United Kingdom and Ireland, and this is the first time that a hotel has asked us to pay a 75€ deposit (plus the full price of the room) before entering the room. Also, before we left, the staff made us wait 10 minutes in the lobby while they confirmed that the room was in order before releasing our deposit. We did not feel welcome at any time during our stay. Some of the staff seemed more concerned about their own makeup than the hostel guests. Buffet style breakfast not according to a 4 star hotel. Avoid it if possible.

This hotel is EXTREMELY UNHYGIENIC and does not follow their own covid protocols! Both rooms I was given had urine and blood stains on the bed sheets. The toilet seat was completely unhinged, bathroom floods whenever you shower and several brown stains on the window seal. I spoke to reception four times to have the room changed and speak to a manager who apparently is not available on weekends. An email was sent to follow up with the complaint which has been ignored and open calling to seek a resolution, I was advised that it was the cleaning company fault. No apology and compensation received

Ok place to stay if you don't plan to stay long in downtown, or if you are here with a car. Otherwise it has a lot of logistical challenges, especially now with COVID restrictions. Hotel itself is more or less new, clean and breakfast is ok.

I booked a room from 17. -18. OCT and a day later I asked if i can change the date to 14. - 15. I checked first if there were rooms available. They answered that it is not possible to change, because i booked a nonrefundable room. Well. I didnt want to cancel the reservation. I did want to change it and a told them that I would accept a charge for it. No Service. I waited nearly 24 h for a response. I have not been there, but I dont want it either

This hotel is situated a great distance from the city center. I would not recommend staying in this hotel if you are after a fun filled holiday. Further more the room we were appointed had a dirty bathroom which was cleaned the day after we arrived by housekeeping. Front of house or receptionist was very rude on our arrival. Breakfast in this hotel is very expensive for very little choice of food. On our departure from this hotel we had forgotten some of our belongings which we had placed in the room safe, after contacting the hotel via email they have said our belongings have not be found in any part of the hotel after giving them the room number and dates we stayed. They are not making any efforts in returning our property. The only good thing I can say about this hotel is to do with the barman, he was a gentleman with great conversation and recommendations on things to do in Amsterdam. Its very unfortunate that this man has to work in such an awful hotel!!

A classic business hotel, but that doesn't have to mean anything bad. It is located rather far from the city, not ideal for sightseeing (about 40 minutes by metro including the way to the station). But the Ajax Stadium is within walking distance. Ideal for sporting events or concerts. There are also restaurants and grocery shops near the stadium. The rooms are solid and clean. There is a hotel bar with terrace and a fitness room.

The check-in took ages, but the receptionist was very friendly. The room was very spacious and also clean. The bathroom only had a semi transparent door that you couldn’t close properly, so there was no privacy. The breakfast cost 15€ per person, but didn’t have a lot of variety, so definitely not worth buying. All in all, it was ok for a night, wouldn’t go there for a longer stay though

The room was clean and well furnished. I found the check-in experience somewhat underwhelming: the receptionist talked in a unusually low voice and avoided eye contact for most of the time, which made me feel awkward and out of place. But this could've been just a bad day for her because on the next day she was friendly and welcoming. So there's that. All in all a pleasant experience.

Great localization for my visit purpose. Breakfast's fine. Rooms clean and tidy. Only service could be better. No smile, minimum informations. The service at the reception was the only thing I can say I was not happy with

Hotel is affordable for Amsterdam and near public transport. Rooms definitely need some TLC and the hotel is very outdated. I've stayed in much, much older hotels that are more looked after and clean. Good for a budget option but not for comfort.

The rooms are nice, nothing fancy but they are big enough, clean and there is a mini-fridge. The bed was comfortable. Someone come every day in the room to clean it (there is a safe in the room to put your valuable things if you are not confident). The breakfast is the same every day, but there is some choice so you can take something different. The reception desk is 24/7, which is a plus, and the employees there were helpful. There is a meeting room and a small gym accessible. The metro is 5 minutes away, so you can move but it stop around midnight (if you are planning to visit Amsterdam during the night, that might be something to take into consideration) and it takes a bit more than 20 minutes to get to the center of the city. My feeling is that it's a bit overpriced, but I did not have any bad surprises and the staff seemed reliable.

We are a travel agency and we made a booking in June for a stay in September in the amount of over 3.000 EUR. We made a payment with our CC but the hotel informed us that the payment did not go trough and that we need to pay via bank transfer. Which we did in the same day. After we received our CC bank statement we saw that we were charged by the hotel so they received the payment twice. They have not been replying to our emails and requests for a refund of the double payment even if we did send them all the proof that we were charged twice. The staff is RUDE and nobody does anything to solve the problem. We have been waiting for a refund since June. Disgrace for the travel industry.

Everything is very good, just remembering to inform them when you want to change the bedclothes, otherwise they will do the cleaning correctly but only change the bedclothes if you make the request. the breakfast was great the price paid for the 4 day stay was great. I recommend.🙏

The staff is good. The barman is nice, reception desk is ok, cleaners are good. The whole place is adequate. The only things that bother are : the cook is on holidays and there’s no restaurant. That’s not the fault of the staff. Management had to come up with a replacement. Second thing is the bathroom, which includes a toilet : it’s in a sort of aquarium. A semi-transparent glass. So you see people on the toilet. I can’t believe that some people thought this was a good idea.

We had a wonderful family vacation at this hotel. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and ensure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed

The hotel is not in the city center of Amsterdam but there is a metro station nearby. The staff was really kind and helpful. They have a buffet breakfast which had either sweet or salty things. The rooms were pretty cleaned along with the bathroom. Only problem was the showers since it was easy to let water get outside the shower space.
