Extremely disappointed with the service here. My fiancé has been ambassador for six years. He stays at Marriott properties about 100 days out of the year. This is the first property that he hasn’t had any status recognition. We were not offered any of his benefits at check in. Had to ask repeatedly and was never given a straight forward answer. Stayed over his birthday and no recognition of that. We are at a Marriott property every year for his birthday and this has never happened. No upgrades, despite the app showing many suites available throughout our stay. Pay 600 euros a night and they can’t even answer the phone to take a room service order. Service in the W lounge is non existence. It took about 45 minutes to order a hot chocolate and then another 30 minutes to receive it. Unacceptable. Wish we would had chose a different Marriott property for our first visit to Amsterdam because this place really ruined the experience

We loved the ultra modern design of this W hotel. The location is perfect, and it is very close to the central Dam Square. The service is also excellent. We arrived early and our rooms were not ready, but they were able to let us rest at their W Lounge on the top floor after a long flight to Amsterdam. The room was smaller than we expected for a W hotel. But it's very well designed and make super efficient use of the limited space they have. The shower desk/bathroom sink are all combined into a single module. Very clever. The dining options are phenomenal. Between the two buildings of this hotel, there is Mr. Porter and also The Duchess which is a Michelin stared restaurant. There's also a spa which we did not have time to take advantage of. And we will have to come back and try it next time.

One of the best restoration works by any hotel chain in Amsterdam. 2 big blocks of buildings were bought by the W and have been opened as a luxury hotel. The hotel has a young and friendly vibe. The staff are always on hand to help. The restaurant Mr Porter and the bar W Lounge are very popular with locals and tourists too. Great views over the rooftops of this beautiful city. Definitely drop by for a few drinks if you are not staying here.

Love love love this stylish W. We checked in too early and our room was not ready, so we rest in the beautiful "W Lounge" can't believe it's opened at 10 AM. The decor is modern and you are going to love the view, the heated pool look so pretty. After 2 hours our room was ready, and we had an awesome view, even though it was tiny, the room was modern and made efficient use of a limited space. There's a Michelin one star restaurant "The Duchess" I am going to try soon. And Mr. porter the steakhouse looks legit. My breakfast at Mr. Porter is delicious & the service here is superb. Highly recommend this hotel.

My room was a funky room, only way to describe it. Mirrors pipes and a dark interior. It was a loft conversion done very well. The fact that check in was on the 6th floor was strange and little or no signage to say so. Then my room was across the road in another building. Just had to get use to the quirkiness. But and this is disappointing. The w lounge was booked out every night I was there for private functions. Making a relaxing drink at hotel after work impossible. If you are going to rent that space out then make another space for your quests. After all we are paying as well.

Amazing stay in this hotel. The check in went super smooth thanks to Jordan and Anastasia, also thankful for the champagne bottle in the room thanks to Naomi. The room lights specially the ones in the mirror...(first time i can make Up with nice artificial lights) The pool amazing views to the royal Palace and amazing service at the lounge... Great experience thanks everyone!!!

Great location, cool rooms, the usual nice smell if you're into that. 3 stars for service which was very inconsistent with the W brand I've done to expect. Perhaps they were having a tough day at the check-in desk. Lounge was closed, bar was full - no issue there, but the host team struggled to offer any alternative suggestions or service.

We arrived quite early in the morning, way before check-in time. After flying through the night we just wanted to rest. Luckily for us, Pius was assisting us at the front desk. He took care of us right away, giving us options as the room we booked was understandably not yet ready. He went above and beyond with each aspect of our arrival. In addition, our concierge/bellman was at the same level. The first impression of both the city and this unique hotel were so positive. We booked two different hotels before settling on this one - our third choice. Very grateful we went with this hotel... Not just because of the customer service and beautiful property, but also the location. It's so central and easy to get around to the major sites in the city. Highly recommended!!

Our “Wow” suite was quirky (as all W hotel rooms are) and lovely. There was a bathtub in the main room, a large modern shower tucked away, and even an additional half bath when you walk in. Definitely visit the rooftop pool in the checkin building and the spa in the W bank building across the street. Highly recommend!

This hotel was fantastic for a two night stay with my parents visiting from the states in February 2023. The mix of modern and classic style was stunning and the service was top tier. Loved the rooftop restaurants and The Duchess for breakfast. Hands down one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in Europe, if not ever!

We enjoyed our stay on 9/12/23. The location is great! Great service during check-in. We appreciate the recognition in the note from Naomi for being Gold Elite member. For future guests, we recommend to use the sauna and spa pool. It is included. Great service during check-out as well with Aida.

Horrible Hotel Came to this hotel for business and want to warn people not to go for multiple reasons. This is the kind of hotel that prides itself in being techy, but they really haven’t worked out the issues yet. When we arrived they couldn’t make us keys so the whole first day we weren’t able to go freely in and out of the room without an escort. The front desk people are really rude, perhaps it is the culture but rolling your eyes at customers when they ask simple questions like “how do I get to the spa?” Is not ok. The customer service is pretty non-existent unfortunately. Everything you need you’ll have to ask at least twice for them to do anything. I Had to call twice for them to send an electrician because the room is fully automated: meaning the blinds and everything are not manual and our room has multiple outages while we were there. I had to call four times, once in person for them to send an adapter. I called for water, and as usual had to call three times. Every time they say yes of course I will do that now and no one actually means it. They don’t collect food when you’re done with room service, even though they say they will and we called four times over two days about it. Every single request requires at least two phone calls, but usually three, and a few times four calls. Don’t stay here, rooms are so tiny and very ugly weird art of naked people.

The spa is a must! Really nice and relaxing. The rooms are good, beds comfy like all W. Style and vibe differ and depend on the building, will try the Bank building next time. Very good breakfast at Mr Porter, and great drinks in the W lounge. One tip for management: put a door stopper on the door between Mr Porter and W Lounge, as it closes VERY loudly.

I stayed in Mr. Porter building. Staff were nice and friendly. I liked the logistics available in my room. I had a wonderful stay. Window was not fully sound proofed. The tram movement is a bit disturbing. At early morning the phone peeped and interrupted my sleep. I called front desk and they fixed it immediately. The desk chair was not comfortable for long sitting. One day I left the room at 8:30a.m and asked to clean the room. I came back at 4:30p.m and room cleaning was not finished yet! Overall. The hotel is perfect especially its location and accessibility to dam square, restaurants, shopping stores and grocery stores and more. The bed and pillows were cozy. I would recommend this hotel for your next stay.

Second time staying here. The first was several years ago so it was nice to return to something a little familiar but with some new twists. The hotel itself was very responsive to our needs. Had a, mostly, fantastic time celebrating the new year at Mr. Porter's restaurant. Two observations: 1) The breakfast service at The Duchess was inconsistent Fantastic one day and very lacking the next. 2) Service at the W Lounge in the sixth floor for the Exchange Building was lacking in both options on the menu and sufficient staff. Neither observation is enough to offset the stellar performance of the property as a whole. Mr. Porter's reviewed separately.

The rooms had a very unique design to them and a very comfortable bed. My reception was very smooth and welcoming, genuinely probably the best so far. The service in the W Lounge however, was less desirable. I tried to order and was informed they wouldn't take my order unless I was at my table - so I went back and had to wait. Admittedly it was a relatively short wait but I was still displeased. Otherwise great experience.

Rooms are tiny. Stayed in a two bedroom loft. Was nice but tiny. The shower opens directly to the bedroom - there is no separate bathroom. No place to hang towels. But service was prompt and friendly. Breakfast was fantastic.

Stayed at the W for 5 days and 4 nights and spent New Year’s at their Starlight Soirée. Location is close to everything. Rooms were comfortable. Water pressure in the shower was truly the best. Helene was amazing!!! She was very kind and very attentive from the beginning of our stay until the end. She made this trip very special.

Outstanding experience and hospitality at the W Amsterdam! Can’t say enough wonderful things about the hotel, room, and team! Lexi and Celine were amazing. Clayton at the spa was incredible. Thank you for making my stay so special.

The staff was extremely friendly and the room was outstanding. However, the carpet in the corridor was somewhat dirty and should have had a deep cleaning. The breakfast buffet was excellent but was more expensive compared to other hotels.

A nicely designed hotel in Amsterdam center. This hotel used to be home of the KAS bank built in 1906 and the restoration was done in 2015 and it’s beautiful. The spa and pool amenities are located inside an old vault in the basement of the hotel. The restaurant Mr. porter offers a great menu for breakfast and dinner. For a fine dining experience I would suggest The Duchess right across from the hotel the old Exchange Building, which used to house the former Telephone Exchange company. Service was great. Rooms are comfortable and the staff at the hotel are kind and accommodating. A fun and comfortable place to stay.

Cool, stylish, couldn’t be better located. Great rooms and a very chic spa. The bar is very popular and can be hard to access even as a guest. The hotel food offering could be better though Mr Porter does an excellent steak tartare.

very BAD experience during ADE week! As a five star hotel they supposed to have no issues and good internal communication! But sometimes it’s not like it seems! I got charged twice and still waiting after more then a week the refund ! They charged me a different price then it was supposed to be! Elevator was too busy. Room was nice and big but all the experience changed my mood.

Rooms are great and well proportioned for business or relaxing. Hotel gym is great however the hotel is noisy. There is a nightclub in the basement of the hotel and Thursday-Saturday it is open until 0500. The music can be heard in the lifts and lower floor bedrooms. I asked for a quieter room and whilst I was on the opposite side to the nightclub that meant being woken at 0700 when the trams start running.

We had an excellent stay! We would like to give a special thanks to the staff that has made our stay as comfortable as possible. Starting with a warm and enthusiastic welcome by Julian at the front desk, the dinner at mr. Porter was simply amazing and the staff was very nice. In the W lounge we had a very kind and passionate waiter named mr Tetteh, and a big thanks to Georgia and Chris from W insiders/welcome desk for organising the decorated room for our anniversary and my boyfriend’s birthday! We have always loved coming to the W, and being treated with so much respect as at W makes us want to come more often!

I was blown away by the kindness of the staff. From the front desk to the housekeeping staff. Everyone was friendly and kind. Our room was constantly being cleaned and stocked. Although this hotel is known for fantastic night clubbing we were never bothered with noise or rowdy people. Location is beautiful and centrally located. Our room has a beautiful view of the royal palace. Would definitely stay here again.

Check-in experience requires reconsideration, takes too long. Valet parking service is slower than expected - an hour minimum to have the car at the door. For the rest, excellent hotel with unique facilities, priceless location. Oh yea, rooftop bar is a must ! Swimming pool with a view but in summer requires reservation days in advance or you gotta be very lucky like me

We were super impressed by the hotel and especially the service. • When we arrived the welcome desk was perfect, they helped my wife with her bags from the intersection into the hotel • At the front desk, the receptionist made sure we got a great room with space for a crib; the staff there was very attentive; the receptionist on duty gave us donuts, the bartender started a conversation with us even though we clearly weren’t there to drink (with a baby) • The spa was unique and memorable • One night our little one had an accident and the staff came quickly to help change our bed – they were great! We have 0 complaints. Loved the hotel. Loved our room. The staff were great. We feel like we got tremendously lucky and great value for our money.

A great luxury boutique hotel in the middle of Amsterdam. Two buildings located on both sides of the street. The hotel is well decorated with nice modern and highly convenient rooms. Breakfast is one of the richest you can ask for. The hotel has also a swimming pool. The service is fabulous. It has also a very good meet Restarant Mr Porter (you should book a long time in advance). We have been before and we will come back. It’s quite expensive but the overall impression is very positive.

The service at Mr Porter is exceptional. Great ambiance and music, great selection of cocktails and really great steak. On a sunny day, the view from the terrace is really beautiful. End the night off at W Lounge.

Make sure to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a room. They compare thousands of hotel sites and usually will have rooms much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the highest rated in the area. I've been staying here for years. If you stay for a few days you definitely will love it I'm sure! Great hotel & staff. Enjoyed my visit and the panoramic view in the W Lounge. Beds are very comfortable also. Special thanks to reception & Marcha for the smooth check-in & check-out process.

Had hoped for early check in post cruise so walked around the neighborhood yet still had to wait for our room to be ready...and it was worth it as it had a wow view and size! Dark hallways and lounge restroom were interesting, large shower in the room was quirky and cool. Lounge and rooftop are nice and seem popular for gatherings and even locals (heard Mr Porter was one of the best restaurants in the city). The wet spa made me want to come back and the vibe of the two buildings was very cool, all the bellmen on ground level were welcoming and it was nice to feel secure in the early AM hours waiting for a taxi to the airport!

Fantastic hotel. We were made to feel extra welcome with our titanium status. Service was fantastic, lounge was great, spa was delightful, and the breakfast wait staff was the best. Our waitress (I'm so bad with names, sorry) took extra time out of her day to recommend out of the way things to see and do for us, and really made us feel welcome. Looking forward to the next time we get to visit.

The spa design and location within the building is very cool. Treatments were fantastic. Sadly they let the place go a bit. There is only one toilet and it was so disgusting, I had to say something. However, once cleaned the toilet roll was still not inserted in the holder, there were no push tops on the soap and moisturiser, so you couldn't wash your hands. In the shower all bottles were empty and the first 4 of the locks I tried in the locker room were broken.

It was a great stay!! We arrived a bit early and the front desk (two Italian ladies, I didn’t catch their name) was very helpful and have a our room ready right away. Concierge was also pretty helpful. The room was spacious and the bed is comfortable. We went for the sauna and indoor swimming pool. It was so relaxing after all day walking in Amsterdam.

OVERPRICED AND GLOOMY HOTEL The whole hotel is super dark and has a gloomy vibe. This was not good especially since the hotel was near empty because of COVID closure. There was in room breakfast only and it was bad. Since all of the restaurants were closed, the only room service was from the hotels restaurant "The Butcher" and was not good. The main building of the hotel was being renovated, this part was just the annexx. Dont stay in this depressing hotel especially during COVID

All I can say about the W Amsterdam is …….Wow. In general, W hotels are my “cup of tea”. Trendy, modern and a little weird but after staying in a few w properties, I know what really makes the brand is the people they hire. From blue hair to tattoos it doesn’t matter what they look like …..these folks are always always willing to go the extra mile for the guest. Living up to the “whenever wherever” slogan. Amsterdam is no exception. Arriving, our check in experience with Milo and most of all Pius and Georgia was easy and super helpful. Given the lockdown restrictions and reduced capabilities of the hotel they walked us through everything we needed to know. As Bonvoy ambassador we were upgrade to the Extreme Wow suite. We were staying in Amsterdam for our anniversary and later that day Georgia and Enrica (public relations) stopped by the room to help us finalize the plans for the evening and to just have a super pleasant conversation. Room was exciting with all the modern amenities for the 2022 nomad or frequent business traveler with the classic W mix of local culture and art highlighted. Also a super positive interaction that evening with Maibell of the cleaning staff when she stop by to check if we needed any cleaning for the evening. Final despite being his last day at the Hotel Micheal …… (gentlemen who moved to the Renaissance hotel) was a gem. Brokedown all the capabilities of the suite. Losing him is a L for the W team but a Win for the Bonvoy franchise. Location: great near major sites and shopping centers. Staff: incredible Spa (wet area): once in a lifetime experience. The incorporated bank infrastructure with the design of the Wet Area is soo cool and aesthetically pleasing. Only draw back is because the hotel encompasses two separate buildings and access to the wet area is through a retail store, you cant just walk to the spa in your rode. This is not the worse things as there are staff and changing rooms in the wet area. Room Service: it is ok…. They don’t have traditional room service available at the moment but there is some stuff through the hotel restaurant which seems to be a three party. They also charge like 8€ for delivery which is Almost the price of a burger on the room service menu. But it would be nice to have a more traditional room service where guest could order food and cocktail prepared in house. The deliver apps are super easy to use in Amsterdam. Bar: closed due to restrictions Restaurant: closed due to restrictions Thanks for the experience team W Amsterdam!! Billy
