I dined with three friends at The Hoxton in Amsterdam and encountered the worst service in my 10 years here. Initially, it was decent, but after our server's shift ended, everything went downhill. Plates lingered after the main course, no one offered more drinks, and our four desserts were never delivered. Despite three requests to collect dishes, the waiter was arrogant, insisting it wasn't his responsibility. After an hour of waiting, we left, anticipating a dessert delay. A terrible experience—I'd recommend avoiding this restaurant.

What a great private room dining experience we had! It's like dining in your own living room but with an incredible atmosphere, decoration, cocktails and location. The perfect option when you want to avoid overcrowded and noisy Amsterdam restaurants! The 3-course seasonal menu was simple, and while it could have used a bit more extravaganza or maybe a 4th meal, we spent an amazing family time.

Just awful service. I could have set fire to the building and they would still have ignored me

Rooms are great, very clean. Front desk staff is super nice. Location is perfect. I’ve actually stayed here twice (once in 2018 and once in 2023) they used to have a small indoor/outdoor space for guests which was great if you wanted to sit and have a drink not in your room because the rooms don’t have balconies. They still advertise this extensively on their website, (tons of photos of it) but they won’t actually let you in it anymore. We were told several times that it is only available to rent out for group events although it was sitting empty. So the only downside I could list is there is nowhere to sit and hang out if you aren’t in your room. If you want to hang out not in your room you are forced to go their restaurant.

Amazing hotel in the heart of the city center. Very friendly and inviting staff. The room was very clean and very quiet. The restaurant in the hotel, Lotti’s is delicious. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Amsterdam!

Cozy, stylish, atmospheric. Rooms are cozy and warm. The atmosphere being at home doesn’t leave you although the space is large and packed. Still feeling the privacy. Interesting design and amazing decorations.

Cute hotel with more rooms than expected. The basement is serving as the lobby with a small restaurant. Unfortunately there’s no space to work a bit in silence but if you’re okay with noise around, there are some table available. The rooms are rather small but very clean and well equipped. I had a great experience there. Only thing that could’ve made it better would’ve been a canal view :)

I had a fantastic experience at this bar and restaurant! Let me start with the cocktails – they were not just good; they were outstanding, and that spicy one was a real standout! The food was equally impressive, bursting with delicious flavors that left my taste buds dancing. The atmosphere is a perfect blend of cozy and chic, making it an ideal spot for a night out. Now, onto the service – it was truly top-notch. The staff was not only polite but also incredibly quick to attend to our needs, making our dining experience all the more enjoyable. I recommend giving this place a try; you won't be disappointed!

This is a beautiful hotel with a very vibrant atmosphere. The shared spaces in the restaurant are always full with people drinking coffee or wine. The location is ideal, on the canal very quiet but in a short walking distance to all attractions. Rooms are clean and very comfortable.

I was just here for 1 night but this hotel is outstanding. First the deco is outstanding and the room as well. The people are really nice and professional . Kudos to the Bar team yesterday ( 11/05) they really know how to make cocktails! Price is not cheap but it worth it for this kind of experience. Will come back for sure.

Very cool hotel, conveniently located. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the restaurant has a hip, friendly vibe. We stayed with our three kids and while I didn’t see many other kids at the hotel it was a super smooth and very enjoyable stay. I’d definitely book here again and recommend to friends.

Stayed at many Hoxton before and they never disappoint. The location was super beautiful and easy to get around, staff were very friendly and helpful and it’s a busy location in Amsterdam, the room had great vibes and I used the next day laundry service and it was so worth it. Compared to other locations I stayed, dinners reservations and walk-ins are very easily accommodated for hotel guests but we couldn’t get a dinner in the hotel because it’s also a popular spot with locals. But got cocktails at the bar later in the evening and it was just as good.

Stayed for a business trip and overall very comfortable. My room was on the first floor and i suspect in an old wing, which unfortunately very noisy (though im not sure it can be helped as the pipes are exposed and you can hear the hot water!) Maybe its just character! Overall the staff working in the hotel and the bar/restaurant were all lovely

I’m so happy we stayed here! I highly recommend the Roomy with a Canal View room. We were on the lowest floor which is still above ground level and I loved it! Beautiful view and so nice to open the windows during the day. I was impressed by the personalization, gift, decor and complimentary beverages in the refrigerator. A major plus for me was the level of cleanliness and attention to detail. The staff was incredibly helpful. This is in a central location and in walking distance to many museums, Anne Frank house and metro stations. The on site restaurant was 5 stars. Great breakfast and dinner options, even for vegetarians. This hotel stay added to my overall experience in the Netherlands and I highly recommend this!

I went to the restaurant last night and it had a great summer menu (I especially enjoyed the sea bass). The restaurant team were very nice, especially Hannah, who looked after us…. Amazing! We will definitely be back.

Overall a great 3 night stay here. The staff was friendly, the room & bathroom were nice and the bar/restaurant in the lobby was great for a quick drink. The hotel is also located in a great spot, with everything accessible on foot and bikes to rent if you’d like. Pricing is a little high but you’re getting a quality product here. Update: Lost a small item in the room and the hotel staff was able to find the item a week later and ship to us. Amazing people!

This is the second time I’ve booked my family here to stay and they LOVE it. Myself included. The atmosphere when you enter the hotel is lively, with great food at the restaurant. Irene (in Greek, Eirini) is a great waitress at the restaurant. Super sweet, funny, and treated us very well for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner. The rooms are fantastic as well, a fun elegant twist to the traditional Dutch style building. Very clean, and very comfy. Overall a great experience and we will continue to come back!

We rented the lounge area for my b-day party. The staff was kind and friendly. But the menu was different than they shared with us a day ago and the service was delayed than the time communicated to the contact person. On the good side, the atmosphere was really pleasant. There was a live DJ performance downstairs which we enjoyed a lot. The space was cozy and spacious. Overall we had a very nice experience. Recommended.

The hotel is excellent in the most perfect location. Located in the heart of Amsterdam, just a short walk away from the city center, nine streets, beautiful canals, etc. The food at the hotel is incredible as well. Irene served us very well, always smiling and overall bubbly personality. Would definitely recommend staying here when visiting Amstersam.

Just an amazing hotel full of energy. Great staff. Avoid rooms 409 and 509 though, one has steps down to the bathroom the other very low ceilings. Room service breakfast was great except the fruit plate. They were nice to let us change rooms to a much nicer one. Location is incredible absolutely perfect.

Both my partner and I have had our birthdays here in the last year and each time we've been treated exceptionally. The food and cocktails are wonderful and the team ensure an amazing experience, being friendly, attentive and engaging. Needless to say I was very impressed with the staff after the way they handled our two birthdays. We'll come back for sure.

Amazing stay at this hotel. We had a room on the second floor with a great view of the canal. Front desk staff were super friendly. The room was basic but comfortable with a very nice bathroom. There is a restaurant at this hotel which seems to be very popular and busy. We did not try the restaurant. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from the central train station. Less than 10 minutes to Ann Frank House and central to many great restaurants and cafes. We will definitely stay here again.

Cozy hotel with a great location. Rooms are relatively small compared to the ad but still manageable. People are lovely and helpful. Great bar and restaurant downstairs.

Staying at The Hoxton was such a lovely experience. The rooms were really comfortable, air conditioned, with extra amenities. The service was incredible as well. We had an issue with a cancelled flight and The Hoxton was super easy and accommodating to switch our plans. It’s got a great coffee bar for the day and nightlife bar for the night. Even though it was always pretty busy the noise never bled into the room. Amazing location as well, right on the shopping streets. Can’t wait to stay there again when we go back to Amsterdam.

My stay at The Hoxton was a great experience. The room had a great vibe, the bed was very comfortable and the additional services and amenities were also great. I especially appreciated the no-nonsense minibar with free water and milk every day. The wi-fi was great and allowed me to keep in touch with home base while on my trip. The breakfast that was included in the price was almost entirely delicious, the only thing that disappointed me was the fruit bowl. Throughout my stay, the staff was firendly and accomodating and I was able to extend my my stay for a couple of hours before checking out without any issue at all. Thank you for taking care of me while I visited your beautiful city. I will most certainly be back. :)

20.00 for double whiskey is an absolute joke. Beyond expensive. Service from Irish staff is great but dutch were incredibly rude and not very informative. Got pushed away from the bar after waiting 15mins just to ask about options. Waiting for a long time for service and 18€ a burger is mental. Drop your prices and hire trained customer service staff who represent the brand properly. Hotel I'm sure is great but if you visit as a guest or walk in they treat you like a last priority. Expect a 10minute wait to pay bill Expect 30minute wait for food. Expect 7-10 euro per drink if you aren't buying beer. Won't be back and will ensure friends don't visit either by informing them of this horrible experience.

Place has a beautiful living room type cosy set up. But I gave it a 3 because service is pretty bad. With almost no customers we waited almost 1 hour for our drinks.

Maybe the staff had a bad day but I was never treated in that way as a guest. Not recommended in any way. If you want to enjoy the beautiful city of Amsterdam better look for another location.

Food well presented. Although meatballs look better than they taste. Not bad but nothing special. The terrace is nice in front of the canals and inside the place has a lot of space so it’s good for groups.

Nice location, but overall level of services average. And bedroom is expensive, view on the opposit outside wall, no real storage, many staircases…a bit disappointing, maybe we are too old (40….). At the end, a bit expensive for what we got.

Awesome hotel, much like other Hoxtons. Great looks, very comfortable, nice food, and, cherry on the cake, they serve hose made kombucha!

We had a lovely breakfast here - only leaving three stars as can’t say other guests shared our experience? It was painful to watch and not sure what was going on with their staff. I wished I could have gotten up to help. They had more than enough people to serve up breakfast to guests but *just a very apparent* lack of communication amongst staff. We would have sat there longer and enjoyed another cup of coffee, but left quite quickly as it was a bit uncomfortable. Hope they sort themselves out as it’s a lovely seating area right on the canal 🤩

The bar on the second floor offers a amazing view of the canal. The Double Dutch was my favourite drink. The restaurant has a nice selection of food .

Outstanding hotel. Cool to its very core. If you are lucky enough to be in Amsterdam, then be sure to make a beeline for this hotel. Everyone that works there seems to be so happy that they work there ...it's obvious to see ...Real style without any pretence. Also try and check out the internal restaurant Lottie's. Great food served with style and grace. Rooms are sumptuous and luxurious. I can't wait to get back here again soon. What's not to like ?!

Amazing hotel, perfect location to walk everywhere. Super clean and modern. Amazing view of the canal right I front of the hotel. Staff are super helpful. Hotel is vibrant and has an amazing design. The rooms are very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay

We came here for cocktails a few times and really enjoyed the ambiance. You can pick between casual living room-esque seating or typical table+chairs. Service was fast. Definitely feels more like a lounge than a hotel lobby (and that's a good thing!). PS food is great, too! Recommend the veggie burger or the soup.

We stayed for 3 nights. Location is great, staff are really welcoming and happy to help with everything. we stayed at the "Cosy Room" which was great. it was very clean and the bed was comfy The hotel have a great restaurant on the ground floor. they also have an option to take a bike and we really enjoyed it.

Cocktails and ambience are nice, but it took +30min and 3 times reminding the waitress to get my drink. They offered it complementary ant then they include it on the bill. Not a great experience

1 star for food, 1 star for the place itself. Stars lost thanks to staff. When I came, nobody came to greet me so I had to find someone to tell them I had booked a table. Staff very little attentive, we received our drinks after the food and forgot about my additional order once the food came. On top of that, the waitress charged me 10 eur more. I believe she misheard when I said 23 and I guess it’s my fault for not checking what is she charging me, so that’s a nice tip for them. I love the place but staff needs to wake up.

A nice place. I come here often to relax and have some drinks or to work. It's great for getting work done. Many young people, aged between 20-30, come here. The food is also excellent. I would recommend the bagel with salmon; loved it!🥯

👍👍 The perfect place to enjoy high-quality seafood at a reasonable price.
