Excellent location. Pretty decent room (eveb though the bed was way too soft for me). The best part of my stay with Swissotel AMS was the staff (especially Steven). Extremely friendly and very helpful. Unfortunately is very rare to find someone like him even in good hotels across Europe. Well done and keep it up!

5 stars for this hotel, stayed for 3 nights, it's a few mins walk from train station, it's central location if perfect, rooms had everything you would need, coffee machine, iron, hairdryer, mini bar. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable I've ever stayed in, in a hotel. Rooms were cleaned daily, bottled water replaced daily, The staff were all very friendly, we will definitely stay here again, highly recommended.

Opting for a Europe-based hotel rather than American chain while across the pond (always a good idea), selected Swisshotel Amsterdam for our several-day visit just before Christmas. This was a five star stay. Airline cancelled flight from US to Amsterdam a couple of weeks in advance, so made reservation with Swisshotel for the early, extra night. Upon arrival, didn't charge for early check-in and put us in the best suite in the hotel! Went out for the next day and hotel staff moved our luggage to reserved room - a beautiful suite well-appointed overlooking Damrak (boulevard in front of hotel) and view into Damrak Square with all the Christmas decorations, etc. Very quiet even facing street. Bathroom great with all accomodations and classy look with separate bathtub and shower. Mentioned this was our 25th anniversary trip, so next day while we were out they put balloons all over the room! Great front desk, always incredibly courteous and very knowledgeable. Convenient restaurant connected. Amsterdam Centraal train station a five minute walk down same boulevard and within minutes of both sides of old town. Will definitely return. Thanks, Rob (clef de or concierge) for all you did!

The staff is nice enough, and the location is reasonable if you want to be close to the tourist hotspots - but that's about all the hotel has to offer. Quite frankly looks (and feels) like an IBIS that was reflagged to Swissotel without quite meeting the brand standards. If you've been to any other Swissotel, don't expect this to match. The rooms are as bleak as the lobby, and for €200 to 300 a night you can easily do better. The rooms barely meet the minimum standard for an economy hotel. Also, despite our window facing a brick wall, it was extremely loud so no fresh air either. Ventilation in the bathroom can't be switched off and is loud enough to keep one awake at night. Last but not least - walls are paper-thin so you can hear the neighbours talk. Massive queue for breakfast in an over-crowded room. Breakfast was basic at best. No coffee because cups were missing. Plates were missing. Half the food was out. Severely disappointed, next time I'd rather sleep in a tent.

The location of the hotel is excellent. I found myself close to everything from convenience stores to pharmacies clothing and all what anyone can need. The service provided by the crew is 5 stars to say the least. You can see a hotel respects itself and its guests when you see such professionalism for the crew.

Great location, within easy walking distance of most of the city. Very friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant on our first visit was everything we wanted. Great food, staff and atmosphere. Second visit food was fab, service should have been better. Would highly recommend though. Beds are like clouds to sleep on. Rooms clean and comfortable.

I stayed in a Junior Suite at this hotel for 8 nights and I couldn't be happier. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet, and with an amazing view of central Amsterdam. Every one of the hotel staff were extremely professional, courteous, and helpful (Savanah in particular was a delight to deal with). The internet was extremely fast. The location absolutely cannot be beat. It is as central in Amsterdam as you can get yet still within walking distance of the train station. It is also next to the best currency exchange in town which gives you the best rates (Potts Exchange). The only minor issue was that my room was directly across from the service room and the maid would go in and out of that room for every little thing and the door would slam. Even with my white noise machine sent to a very high volume I was still awaken by the service room door many times. I think the manager either needs to make those service doors gently close or tell the maid to keep the door propped open the entire time on the floor so it doesn't slam shut every time she goes in it for something. But despite that minor negative I am still forced to give the hotel a 5 out of 5 just because the hotel, the room, and the staff were so perfect.... I will be back!

We booked on 20th till 23rd (February 2024) we had the junior suite room 609 this was absolutely lovely. Before we arrived on booking we had called the hotel and was advised by a very informative friendly lady receptionist. We asked for a good quality room, with nice view and not noisy, when we arrived we were greeted by the reception staff who couldn’t do enough for us. They were always smiling and very helpful. The room itself was on the top floor. It is right by the lift but we didn’t hear any noise from this. On entry we discovered a very clean well presented room. The bed was lovely and big and the bathroom shower room and toilet all clean and looked fantastic. We had very relaxing few days stay. This hotel is central to everything!! The only noise we heard was while in the room was the chanting on the square from the protesters. (All for a good cause) so this didn’t bother us. When we were due to check out we enquiries a late check out this was granted as our flight wasn’t till the night. We had to be out of the room by 14.00 due to the hotel being full to capacity. We were grateful for the extra few hours, they even let us leave our luggage in a secure area while we enjoyed our last few hours in Amsterdam.

The location of the hotel is great near so many restaurants and stores very close to convenience store and 7 minutes walk from the central station, it’s in a very crowded and busy street full of tourists if you are not into those kinda places then this place is not for you because it sometimes can get so noisy at night. The staffs were so kind and very friendly, the room was so clean and nit, we booked a room with balcony but it wasn’t as expected because the balcony can barely fit two standing persons so don’t get fooled by the balcony 😅 but overall was good and with delicious breakfast.

Best dern breakfast you will ever get. Make sure to reserve the night before so they can cook enough for you. The doorman kept our luggage behind the desk before we check in time so we woudnt have yo carry it around.

Excellent location! The breakfast was quite basic but not worse than expected! The friendly and polite staff are definitely a credit to the hotel.

We loved our stay here. Very friendly staff and great location. Only complaint is the air conditioning could've worked a bit better but we survived. Lovely stay

As soon as we arrived we were met with the warmest welcome and service by Patricia. Not only did she organise balloons and some treats for us she also took the time to mark on a map some recommended tourist attraction sites, things to do, great restaurants to dine at and where everything is and even made sure we had an umbrella for the rainy Dutch weather. The rooms are modern, spacious and comfortable with decent amenities. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

Forgot to take a picture but wow it was great! Very clean, modern, comfy, and quiet. 10 minute walk from the Amsterdam Centraal Station. The gym is quite nice. Nothing crazy but it has what you need to get a good workout in. The type room we booked was full so they upgraded us to a better room.

We had a long weekend here. This hotel is in a perfect spot to explore Amsterdam. The Staff were very helpful. Breakfast as far as I'm concerned is excellent. Buffet style with hot and cold choices.Fresh fruit and salads and little brownies and muffins..yummy. Our room whilst clean and functional was dark and we had to have lights on even in daylight. However since we were out and about so much,it didn't affect our stay and I would definitely go back again.

The location is very good right by Dam Square and convenient for pretty much everything. The room was great...a suite; very comfortable and well furnished. The only issue was the shower which did not drain well. There are six floors and two lifts. One did not work at all during our three night stay and the other was out of order for half a day...not great although staff was very apologetic. Breakfast was a little underwhelming. The great location and modern rooms gets this hotel a recommendation.

Great location, just about a 1/2 mile from the central train station, and close to several trams. Central enough my wife and I walked everywhere. Three room was big enough and comfortable. The biggest drawback was the shower did not get very warm water and was not well maintained.

One of the best Hotels I stayed in Amsterdam. Rooms are exceptionally neat and clean. The service is excellent. And the staff is really friendly and supportive. The food was excellent with lots of variety that suites everyone. I felt home and will book the same room each time😀

I can’t say enough about the hotel. Everyone there was wonderful and so willing to help. It was our first time in Amsterdam. We were given recommendations and directions. The room was beautiful. And I have to say that the bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on. I don’t know what it was about the bed, but when you lay down you just melted into it and slept like a log. I wish I knew where they bought it. The location was absolutely perfect, right next to damn square And in walking distance to any metro line that you needed. I highly recommend this hotel if you visit Amsterdam.

The staff members were amazing, Margarita at the reception helped us getting around the city. She recommended us places around the city and by visiting those places our trip because better!

For a tourist, this place is great. Close to the station, next to the area with food and drink, and real close to tourist views and shops. The water pressure here for the showers (rain and handle) is nuts and I wish I could take it home. Wish they had Chromecast though.

Clean, comfortable and efficient. Excellent location central to downtown. Have not tried the restaurant, so I cannot offer an opinion there.

Been traveling for 30+ years and stayed at Swissotel properties all over. Some of the rooms at the Amsterdam location are in need of renovations. Overall clean, perfect location, and has the cozy feel of a boutique hotel. Giving it a 5 star thanks to the Assistant Front office Manager Lola H. who made our stay very pleasant. She’s Professional, attentive, pro active, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Swissotel is very lucky to have her.

I booked this hotel because of its excellent location as part of my first international vacation since the start of the pandemic. The initial communication was excellent, but when plans changed due to unforeseen circumstances, they stopped responding and had no consideration, although other hotels from the same chain (in other countries) did flex their cancellation policy!

The rooms, the staff and it fantastic location were wonderfull. But the breakfast was not, it was hard bred - except the one you sliced, the eggs were cold, and the scrambled egg were cold. However, I would love to visit again, and then eat out.

Highly recommend. Wasn’t expecting much as the location of the hotel was at the very, very center of city. Was expecting standard touristy hotel service, but the staffs were 5 stars. Accommodating and nice all around.

Spent 3 nights at the hotel. Everything was great from the begining to the end. Staff are polite and always welcoming. Rooms are very clean and being cleaned on a daily basis. Overall experience has been over my expectations. Will come back for sure.

Had a bad trip in the hotel lobby. The manager Lola brought me snacks and kept me calm. It was nice to go to a super clean and quiet room after that and have a nice bath. Definitely recommend this place.

😐 It is a large, somewhat impersonal, completely unshaded and extremely noisy campsite (we were in the tented section).Noisy because there is a large multi-lane bridge nearby, which is still very busy at night.
