Gorgeous hotel in the best part of Amsterdam. The rooms are very well appointed with beautiful views of the canal. There is an excellent restaurant in the hotel, Brasserie Ambassade. The hotel is close to everything, tons of shops and restaurants and other attractions. Service was impeccable.

We’ve been traveling around Europe on honeymoon, and stayed at the Ambassade Hotel while in Amsterdam. We are so happy with our choice of hotel! It was perfectly centrally located, making everything within walking distance. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful. A few small examples: They had a power adapter in the room for us upon arriving. We decided to stay and extra few nights and switched rooms. They handled the luggage transfer. They made several reservations on our behalf. They helped us mail a package, providing the supplies and mailing it on our behalf. Room service is 24 hours. Also, the library bar is unique and delightful. I am confident you will not regret your decision to say at the Ambassade Hotel!

When you get to your Amsterdam Airbnb and it isn’t anything like the description, then call the one fancy hotel you know of and they are booked BUT they recommend another hotel and it turns out to be the Ambassade Hotel and they can juggle bookings and give you two rooms for four nights, you definitely have had a very lucky day. Lovely, cheerful staff; elegant furnishings, including a private art collection; delicious breakfast buffet; and just a few sidewalk tables overlooking the canal for drinks and snacks. I’d go back to Amsterdam just to stay here again.

Stayed here twice and enjoyed amazing service. Celebrated a special birthday here. The hotel is warm and cosy with a lovely sitting area on the main level with lots of books and art work to keep you busy. The room was comfortable with amazing views of the canal. Extra care was made with the interior design and luxurious drapery. Street Parking can be a challenge but we did fine. The bathroom was nice and clean with great lighting. Location is close to lots of great restaurants. Really like the fragranced BVLGARI toiletries provided. Would highly suggest and will be back ! Also the communication with the front desk is stellar!!!

The Ambassade staff and location was awesome. They really go out of their way to ensure you are happy. We did complain the ac was not working as our canal view was very hot. They ended up bringing in a portable ac to alleviate the heat since it couldn’t be fixed until the morning. That was really going above and beyond. The room was nice. I’m not sure paying for the canal view was worth it. It would have been fantastic with a deck but those don’t exist. We didn’t spend much time looking out the window. I was surprised how quiet it was. We did rent bikes from the hotel which were very easy to ride. Although, walking was preferable as it’s so busy with traffic and hard to navigate google maps from a bike. Easy to walk to shopping area and Red Light district. I would stay again.

Stayed here with my Mum for business. The staff were so friendly and professional from the very start to the very end of our stay. We both felt very welcomed. The surroundings are elegant and fresh. The room was spotless and quite large, with a lovely rain shower in the bathroom and a double sink. There are plenty of lovely lounge style areas in the communal areas of the hotel to relax too. The staff are always willing to help. The location is excellent, it was easy to walk to all the different sights we wanted to see in Amsterdam and to get there from the train station. If I would recommend any improvements (it's really minor) I would just say the hair dryer isn't very powerful and could be better. But that's all! Everything else was absolutely perfect and I hope to visit again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

This is a beautiful upscale hotel located near the city center. It has an impressive restaurant and provides exceptional guest services. We were here for almost a week and were very impressed with all the staff.

A heartfelt thanks to the charming Ambassador Hotel! Amidst the cold and rain, I invited friends to seek refuge and enjoy a warm drink. The hotel, recommended by a friend. The bartender suggested a delightful bottle that I thoroughly enjoyed – truly lovely. We savored the atmosphere before continuing our stroll through the charming ambiance of Amsterdam after the rain.

This place is a gem! We found the Ambassade looking at others' reviews and they were accurate. The staff was helpful and kind, breakfast delicious and location perfect. Rooms are small by North American standards, but nicely appointed and very comfortable. We had the canal view which was nice and quiet most nights, but our daughter also enjoyed her non canal room and it was quiet every night. Would definitely stay here again!

Room was small for the price and far more price point than the Okura, Grand Canal in Delft. Unfortunately we lost a night of sleep due to people setting off the alarms at 2 am. Staff was exceptional at every level; front desk, and breakfast buffet included. Derek's recommendation were always spot on. Location is unmatched and as central as it gets.

Great location at the heart of the canals ring and nine streets and walking distance from Centraal rail station. Clever restoration and conversion of typical historic houses. Well appointed, comfortable rooms. Good use of space. The hotel staff are really friendly, courteous and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble and they will book you tickets. Excellent bar in library with great draft beers and wines by the glass. Try the Bitterballen for a tasty, filling snack. Restaurant expensive so did not eat there but there are plenty of options nearby. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is an absolute delight. It is sandwiched between the canals and represents the postcard picture of Amsterdam. The staff are all helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The room was stunningly clean and the bar, a gorgeous retreat. We would find it hard to stay anywhere else in Amsterdam after our wonderful fewnights at the Ambassade Hotel.

Beautiful hotel, perfect location. Very central and walkable to everything but also even in a room on street level it was very quiet at night. perfect service from all staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. Breakfast was also really lovely! Would highly recommend and definitely would stay again.

Loved every minute of being here, the staff was extremely courteous in bringing our luggage to our rooms upon check in, giving us a map with hand marked recommendations and even assisting us in getting cabs to the airport for our checkout. The rooms were beautiful with views of the canal, can’t wait to come here again.

Spent the most incredible two days in Amsterdam at this incredible hotel. Beautiful, wonderful service, comfortable beds and location location location! No two rooms are alike. I loved this city and want to come back and stay here for a week. Every person on the staff was knowledgeable and accommodating. Thank you!

Great location and excellent service. The museums, Little Nine Streets, Jordaan, Anne Frank House, restaurants and shopping are all in close walking distance. We had a room facing the canal. It is small but that is typical in Europe. I thought it was relatively expensive.

We had such a lovely stay at the Ambassade. Everything about the hotel was perfect - the friendly staff; the welcoming ambience; the quiet but convenient location; the canal views; the collections of art and books; the marvellous breakfasts in the gorgeous brasserie…. Yes, especially these wonderful breakfasts! We also thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour with Eduard Janssen, arranged by the hotel. We were in Amsterdam to see the Vermeer exhibition - which was sublime - and the Ambassade was the most fitting base. We have found our perfect Amsterdam hotel. Thank you so much for looking after us so well.

Service was great. We were greeted by a very friendly guest services team when we walked in. They took our bags and delivered it to our room for us while we explored the city. The room was beautiful with incredible views of the canal. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Highly recommend staying here if you visit Amsterdam.

We had a great stay in the quad room for four nights. The location is ideal, all the staff were really friendly and great with our kids (6 & 8). Breakfast was delicious and a highlight to start every day. Hopefully we’ll be back at some point!

If you’re a Traveller who loves authentic hotels that have owners and staff that are passionate about creating a special place, then you’ve just found a gem. The art and interior here is well beyond anything I’ve seen. The book lined bar area is like from a dream. The space is welcoming, spotless, beautifully designed. The people are a treat. Seriously, one in a million.

For all the reviews and price, it was severely un-impressive. If you are a writer and this hotel means something to you on an artistic level.. then it's worth every moment. If you're looking for a quality stay in Amsterdam, there are nicer options for less. That said, it's still super cute and right on the canals. The location/district is mostly traversable by foot, and Rokin station is the closest metro to get anywhere outside of the area. The front desk dropped the ball in a few places worth noting: 1 - We had called and confirmed on check in for a private boat touring and even after verbal confirmation, we did not get the boat touring. They owned up to this, but it was unfortunate given the waste of our time and expectations. 2 - They didn't provide a wifi, which you can call and ask for yourself. 3 - The room service menu is very minimal, and vegetarian options are not present. Having to walk to McDonalds (ew) to get a bite when the staff mentioned they had some food options was also off-putting. If you do stay here, know that the hotel is gated and gets closed/shuttered at night, making it tough to spot when returning after dark. Having stayed at 6 hotels in Amsterdam thus far, this one isn't the worst but it's far from the best by my standards.

This hotel is the best I’ve ever visited. The reception staff are really helpful, as soon as we arrived they asked our reason for stay & showed us a map marking places to visit. We were also shown up to our room. Rooms were spotless, lovely underfloor heating in the bathroom. Great mini bar plus tv. The attention to detail is like no other. You’re certainly treated really special. Breakfast is amazing everything you could possibly need & yet again staff excel. Really friendly service from everyone with a smile. The waitress knew it was my partner’s birthday a birthday plate was taken to our room with a bottle of sparkle. Was a lovely surprise when we came back in the evening. Everyone single on of you have absolutely made our little break away truly a memorable experience we will never forget. Thanks from the bottom of our hearts to you all.

very nice hotel, quiet location (if you are on the hotel side), very nice people (at breakfast too!). few glitches that dont make it a 5 nor a 4). we got the elevator suite. beautiful room but the elevator machinery is right in the middle of your room so every time the elevator starts you hear a clack. same when it stops. so no need for an alarm clock, it wakes you up around 7am daily! the suite is also in the back of the hotel on a larger and noisier canal. we ordered food and they delivered it wrong. i called and they partially fixed it. but i was shocked to discover they charged me for their mistake at check-out. I had to review the bill in details. In the end they fixed it to my advantage (I believe :). Last i asked them help me book a boat for a canal tour and they didnt seem very interested. they never called me back and i found the boat by myself.

😐 It is a large, somewhat impersonal, completely unshaded and extremely noisy campsite (we were in the tented section).Noisy because there is a large multi-lane bridge nearby, which is still very busy at night.
