Location!!!! This place is not pretty but it is in the best location in Amsterdam. The rooms are big, breakfast is great and the service is the best. Don't expect anything modern but it is clean for a run down 1860's hotel building. The stairs are challenging so be prepared. They provide clean linen whenever you want it as well as daily cleaning if that's your thing. We will return.

Unbearably hot rooms, and incredibly noisy location with pumping music until 5:00am. One shared toilet & shower for an entire floor of 6 - 7 rooms. Couldn't recommend it for anyone actually wanting to sleep in Amsterdam.

Really grotty and not nice to stay. Ok for a night but any longer and it will depress you.

Location is central, room walls are this so... overall small quaint place with morning breakfast you cast buy for 10 euro. Basic necessities, some room share WC and other have a private one. I'd stay again but would make sure room had bathroom. There's a restaraunt down stairs and food everywhere it's located right in Rembrandt square near the ice skating outdoors rink.

I was a bit worried after reading some negative reviews but after staying here I feel that they are unfair to the hotel. Our room was clean. Lovely bathroom. Great location. Very friendly staff. Great base to explore the city. Cheap and cheerful hotel. I would recommend it to anyone on a budget. It was perfect for our needs. 👍

It was in a great area... very lively! If you have a front room, it will get REALLY loud! The stairs are very steep and narrow, no elevator. We had mold in our shower and the toilet literally moved off the ground when we sat on it. The room was small and the bed wasn't the most comfy. We did the breakfast our last morning. It costs 10 euro and was definitely not worth it. You can get a cheaper and better breakfast elsewhere. I would recommend finding another hotel in Amsterdam.

Great value for money. Ideal location and sanitary rooms. Nothing over the top, but you don't travel to another city to sit inside. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, giving the hotel added comfort. Plus, good security.

As others have said, the hotel is dated and the rooms are old-fashioned, but it’s not a bad location. It can be quite noisy with music thumping from nearby clubs, but it would only bother light sleepers (ear plugs would work well). The shared men’s toilet was rather cramped however, and the automatic light kept going off after a few seconds if you weren’t constantly moving. Room was old fashioned, but warm and the bed was comfortable.

My room was disgusting!!! Pillows, bedding, and towels were all covered in hair and stains! The room was also falling apart- duct tape on walls and the floors were incredibly dirty. Walls also paper thin!! The only redeeming quality about this place was the nice staff at front desk- other than that- do not waste your money on this place!!!

to start, the location is amazing and the staff are very kind and sweet, so i do recommend staying here the minibar prices are also quite reasonable if you compare them to local stores however, the entire time we stayed our room had this awful mildew like smell that didn’t go away and the fan was super creaky we were here in the winter so didn’t notice the extreme heat that other commenters refer to the specific room we had though, we didn’t hear any outside noise just the loud neighbours across the hallway occasionally

The Hotel is central to everything, nice clean rooms and great for people watching on Rembrand square! The staff are all lovely and very helpful. The breakfast is lovely with a great choice of food.

Hotel was okay. Clean and in a great location. However (and this may sound crazy), every night me and my partner woke up to shadow people walking around the room. I am only writing this review to see if anyone else has had the same experience as it freaked us out so much.

Staff friendly and accomodating. Great location. Not very private, poor housekeeping, had to sleep above the sheets after first night. Good hotel as long as you come prepared.

The location is amazing!! Although before booking it you should know that the room is very very small. The double bed is really just a one-and-a-half. My friend and I are both small so it wasn't a problem. The window lock was kinda broken so it kept opening and closing by itself but the room was really warm so it didn't bother us really. All in all I would totally book it again. I was amazed by the location and personally I don't care how big the room is

Room was small, but great location and great friendly people. If in Amsterdam, and just need a place for a night or 2 it's perfect.

This hotel deserves a better rating. If you're ever in Amsterdam there's no better hotel than hotel Atlanta. Beautiful hotel. Clean in and out. The staffs are amazing. Did I mentioned location! Lol! Love it.

TERRIBLE!!! DON'T GO TO ATLANTA HOTEL!!!!! I MADE A RESERVATION AT JUNE FOR A WEEK IN OCTOBER (16-23.10). BECAUSE OF THE WAR IN ISREAL I WASN'T ALLOWED TO LEAVE MY COUNTRY. I ASKED FOR ALTANTA HOTEL TO CANCEL MY RESERVATION OR INSTEAD TO KEEP IT FOR NEXT YEAR. THEY DIDN'T AGREE! EVEN AFTER "BOOKING" ASKED THEM TO BRING ME BACK MY MONEY!!! AND WHEN I CALLED TO THE HOTEL TO ASK THEM TO UNDERSTAND MY SITUATION - THE GUY FROM THE RECEPTION TOLLED ME "YOU PAY FOR YOUR MISTAKES". WORST PLACE IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PROs Good location (15-20 min walk from Central Station/Museumplein), with lots of restaurants, bars, and supermarkets nearby. We stayed in room 5 which was big enough, and we didn't hear any noise from the bars in front of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. CONs The room smelled like mold, so we needed to keep the window open at all times. Also, there's no ventilation in the bathroom. The view from our room was awful, just look at the photo I've attached and you'll understand.

Conviently situated, understandabley cheap. This tiny hotel felt like sleeping inside a small cupboard, but this is to be expected when staying in the centre of Amsterdam in a standard building. There are far better hotels in the area, but they are much more expensive. I stayed here for one night while waiting for a flight, and would only recommend staying here in identical circumstances. I would never stay here for any longer as, although the location is good, it is not built for people taller than 5'5" (165 cm) and I am 6'2" (188 cm)...

The only good thing is the location which is close to downtown and everything is almost within walking distance. However since there are many restaurants and bars in the same square there is too much noise in midnight we barely could sleep b/c of noise. Breakfast was very typical and i didnt see much refill with the foods like eggs were running out and they didnt fill it at all. Its very old hotel and the rooms looks more like a hostel. The towels in bathroom was not clean and there were stains in the towel

This place wasn’t too bad but it definitely had pros and cons. The pros: the location is good in the way that it is walkable to many tourist things, the staff were great, easy check in/out, rooms were clean. The cons: the location is extremely touristy which means it’s crowded and busy at all times of the day. This made it very loud and difficult to sleep. There is a club/bar across the street that plays loud music until the early morning, even on weekdays. We could hear the music throughout the night so if you are a light sleeper, either stay elsewhere or bring ear plugs. Amsterdam’s public transportation is very easy to figure out so I would recommend staying somewhere slightly out of city centre. It will be quieter, less crowded and barely more of a walk into the centre. The mattresses were also very hard and hurt my back. For the price, this place was not worth it in my opinion.

Amazing, but noisy location. 10 minute walk from pratically anything. Rooms are okay, but a lot of ambient noise and very thin walls. But the location is almost definitely worth it.

Good service, very central location, the house is old and the many stairs are not for beginners. Price was right

Look.. this is not an expensive hotel. Its perfectly located but because of where it is, is loud. Like bass through the floor loud and paper walls to hear the next room. The hotel is old AF and its... let's say quirky but as a bed for the night its just fine. The rooms are tired....The service is friendly. Breakfast i wouldn't bother with for €10 a day you can get something nicer, close anyway. Tram stop right across from hotel. Easy walk to centraal down Rokin in 15 to 20mins

The place is great in terms of location and staff. We had a great view from the second floor to the square. Another bonus is that they helped to keep our luggage after checking out. However, the bathroom smells so bad (urine smell like others said) when we first stepped in. It was not improved after we asked it to be cleaned. I had to hold my breath when having a shower. Also, if you book through an agent, be aware of 7% city tax. The confirmation booking email has a note on this but that's after booking and we didn't notice.

Good location and nothing more. We booked two nights. The stuff is friendly but very unprofessional. The bath tub is broken and flooded water in the bathroom. The staff try to ask us to take shower outside without compensation. And he has to communicate with boss so they banging the doors multiple times without solving the problem. We left the room for 1 hour so they can clean and check. Came back and the bathroom still remains the same(wet floor, not evening changing towels), so we ask towels for change ourselves. After one more hour another guy banging the room again said room cleaning after we made clear to the front desk that we’d like to relax this morning please don’t disturb again

It is the worst hotel I have ever been! They don’t clean your room bed is the same as you left every day! Washrooms are dirty and terrible shower situation with no shower head! If I had the choice I wouldn’t even give one star to this hotel.

2nd time returning and couldn’t ask for more. Rooms were spacious (double deluxe), location was perfect and so convenient and the staff are very friendly and welcoming! Rooms are very dated but clean and mini bar drinks are only €2! Only reason for not a 5 star is there was a sewerage smell occasionally which can’t really be helped, regardless of this I’d still return every time I visit amsterdam

Great location and staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms could use a little updating and the beds are pretty firm. But the rooms did include a fan, safe and mini fridge but they were very hot in the evening and the windows are so big you can’t keep them open at night. Located in a really navigable spot, close to the tram line and lots of cool spots - super walkable and something always going on outside!

I honestly believe that it's the BEST hotel in amsterdam. the location is amazing, the rooms are very nice and fancy, clean place, 24\7 reception. and the stuff is AMAZING, THANK YOU for the service.

Never ever again. No air conditioning 40 degrees in the room. You have to sleep with an open window but as you are right at Rembrandt plein you can’t sleep cause it’s too noisy. Wasn’t very clean as well.

Interesting hotel in a very crowded location (Rembrandtsplatz). The stairs are very steep. The rooms are nice but old. Everything is a bit in its ages but it has Charme. Breakfast is also worth the 10 euros. The price of the room is a bit too high thinking about drunk people, not letting you sleep during the whole night.

  • 4/5 JP S. 2 years ago on Google
Great location, cozy and with local style the room with a nice view on Rembrandtplein, helpful and friendly staff. Steep stairs though.

The hotel is very well located, right in the center. The reception people are very kind and friendly. A perfect deal! If we return to Amsterdam we will repeat hotel.

We’ve booked a twin room with private bathroom but when we arrived at the hotel the receptionist she told us that only 1 twin with shared bathroom is available. Hotel very old and dirty, room not clean. Only good things is the location in the center of Amsterdam (Rembrandtplein), near the hotel there are supermarkets, coffeshops, bus stop and restaurants. About the clean, in my Country (Italy) an hotel like this would be closed yet!!!😂

😐 It is a large, somewhat impersonal, completely unshaded and extremely noisy campsite (we were in the tented section).Noisy because there is a large multi-lane bridge nearby, which is still very busy at night.
