Stained carpets in the room, musty smelling, and the beds are not made for anything besides sleeping. But don't bother, every one in the hall way is audible down to the whisper. The check in lady was fantastic but the rest of the staff was awful. Door handles and bathroom floors are slimy and the morning staff was incredibly rude. Not even a good morning nor smile from any of them. Breakfast is severely lacking concerning the extra price. However, because of the staff, I will never stay here again and suggest taking your business elsewhere.

How this hotel can get away with calling itself a 4* is beyond me! Even TA’s & Booking.com’s rating of 3* is being extremely generous and misguided... I stayed here because it was close to the RAI (one of the two only good thing going for this hotel), as the other hotels (more well known brand/chain hotels) were either fully booked or way out of my travel allowance (double normal prices $$$$). What a huge mistake! Despite the efforts of the staff/housekeeping to maintain it, this place was falling apart. Carpets heavily stained, ceiling tiles rotten, mould in the bathroom, rusty tissue boxes, greasy hairdryer, bed sheets with holes, blood stained curtains, rotten smell throughout the hotel and broken light switches (which I don’t know how is not a safety hazard) are just to name a few of the issues! The replies to the ‘real’ comments below from the hotel states the “hotel is being renovated”... Well, that’s a complete joke; during my short stay I did not see any form of renovation going on whatsoever, even when I asked the staff, they had no clue of any renovations due to take place... For the positive reviews below; were you blind? In the lobby area is a room to grab water and coffee, this room looked bearable and on the one occasion I used it, there were three other people in there, all were sharing the same horrors I was experiencing. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this place and would recommend anyone even thinking of staying to not! The only good thing to say is that the staff are wonderful, helpful and courteous. How they can work in that dingy, rotten place is beyond me! This hotel could be a great hotel, if only they revamped the entire place and invested in modern amenities! 1* at best and that’s because of the staff!

We have booked the Savoy Hotel for our summer holiday from 3-7 June 2020. Due to the CORONA pandemic the flights were cancelled. We have tried repeatedly to get in contact with the hotel to arrange a postponement of our stay at the hotel. The hotel ignored the requests. A reputable hotel chain with trained staff should be able to respond to customer requests. The full amount was debited from the credit card, a service was charged which we were not able to use. We are aware that even the Savoy Hotel cannot be held responsible for entry restrictions, but this non-reaction is unacceptable. We do not advise anyone to book this hotel.

We booked Savoy Hotel four months prior to our travel. Unfortunately, our flights were cancelled as the country went to a complete lockdown. We notified the hotel immediately asking for either a refund or a change of date. First they had been ignoring our emails then in a curt, unfriendly tone replied that pandemic was not their fault. Happily held on to our money. Totally unprofessional, unhelpful staff, taking advantage of people`s predicament. My advice, stay clear and warn others.

Easy to get here by tram or metro. Tram stop is a 1 minute walk to the hotel. Receptionist was very friendly. We had a family room which was very clean, spacious and there was a nice bath. The hotel has a spacious lounge area where you can relax, have some free coffee/tea and play some pool.

Nice hotel in a nice area. No much fancy but it's clean and have a good beds and showers. It's located few steps away from a tram stop that takes you to Dam in few minutes. Free tea/coffee available 24/7 in the lobby. Smoking isn't allowed.

Small and dark room. We stay for two nights at 0 floor room (just in front of the counter), found hair on beds while check in. No tissue refill on the following days. The counter chat loudly in midnight, while some guest back lately, they chat, laugh together until morning. We could not sleep, it was just better than stay on street. We only saw the highly recommend comments on Booking.com...then book it..........did not check others on Google.... It was the most terrible experience among our trip in Amsterdam.

I have never stayed in this part of town before but was pleasantly surprised how easy it is to get into Dam Square via Tram from right outside the hotel! I found it friendly, comfortable & clean. Bathroom a bit minky but nothing to worry about. The staff were friendly & efficient - I will definitely be staying here on my next trip to Amsterdam.

Really good service and only 20 mins from Central (or €9 Uber), the staff are really friendly and helpful, the coffee machine is good but you can't make tea. It has a vending machine and pool table which is ready useful. The hotel can provide you with a food delivery website. The bathroom was really nice and clean and the beds were comfy, our TV didn't work properly

Very convenient to the metro and public transit. The room and interior was spotless. There was a reception room with free coffee and water. The best part of it was my experience at check in with Aleksandra. She was delightful and friendly. She took her time to show us places to see in Amsterdam and how to get there, also how to navigate the public transportation system. She went above and beyond to make our trip enjoyable. She is a treasure!

The staff are very rude and very unfriendly and would lie to us about available rooms and reservations. Prices locally and on website are different and the staff was trying to overcharge us. the room did not have a working air conditioner in a 30 degree weather. The shower head was broken. Some lights in the room did not work. I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. Find yourself a hostel instead you would a better chance of getting a nicer place with nicer staff.

Good stay but unfortunately bad service when we were about to check out. The breakfast and coffee was good.
