The Krasnapolsky continues to exceed expectation in nearly every way. During this 3 night stay I would especially praise the following: Attentive and considerate staff. Spacious, comfortable, well-appointed rooms that are impeccably clean. A great breakfast room, cafe, and bar. An attentive concierge staff. In short, the Krasnapolsky delivered a stay of the very highest quality.

Highly recommended Positive Points: 1. The location is excellent, offering convenience and accessibility to key attractions in Amsterdam. 2. The service provided by the staff was exceptional, demonstrating a high level of hospitality and professionalism. 3. The view from the royal suite is breathtaking, overlooking the beautiful Dam area. Negative Points: 1. The room temperature and water temperature in the royal suite was consistently too cold, which affected the overall comfort during the stay.

The hotel is right on the Dam and across a fabulous mall. Lots of store near by and it's in a busy area. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The same goes to the staff ladies on breakfast they were so nice and talkative, and breakfast was delicious. Lots of space in between the tables. The cleanliness of the rooms could be better. The cleaning lady barely cleaned the room in the mornings. The sheets and towels didn't seem to be replace everyday. One morning she didn't even replace the amenities. The beds were very hard.

I had the great pleasure of a short stay at this wonderful hotel a couple of years back, but never got round to leaving a review. The whole experience was amazing! From the second you enter it is clear this place is a cut above your average hotel. The staff were attentive, courteous and spoke perfect English (my Dutch is horrible). The building and architecture simply stunning! The room was very modern, very clean and comfortable. The bathroom incredibly clean. Although it's in the heart of the city, there was no issue with noise. Perfect location for exploring Amsterdam. I'm really hoping to go back after Covid allows us into the Netherlands again.

The service from the moment we arrived was exceptional. We were greeted by Veronique who instantly made us feel welcome and checked us in. Every member of staff was attentive warm and friendly, taking care to ensure our experience was one to remember and personable. The breakfast was amazing and the atmosphere to match in a beautiful setting. It was a couple's break for my birthday and the staff/hotel made sure our stay was extra special with amazing gestures which will stay with us. A massive thank you, would highly recommend and if or when we are in Amsterdam again, we will definitely be staying here again ☺️. I was here for five nights celebrating our Anniversary, the hotel facilities were amazing and friendly stuff. I would like to thank them for their help, care and support to get medical support and arranging a doctor visit in the room . *Overall the place worth the experience and above my expectations. Highly recommended !

Hotel with an old school vibe. A good location in terms of it being downtown. The staff were all super friendly which I really appreciate. Very good cocktail bar and cozy bistro. The room was a good size with a separate living room. I like the smaller boutique hotels a bit more but this was definitely a good hotel.

We have just had a wonderful 2 night stay at the hotel for our first visit to Amsterdam. The breakfast choice was outstanding. We loved the chocolate fountain! Rooms clean and modern, stunning interior and location is absolutely perfect. Staff were all very helpful and happy. We can’t wait to return!

We stayed as a group of 10 for a friends birthday and the service was fantastic! Although our rooms weren’t ready, the desk staff kindly offered to store our bags until the room was (which was exceptionally helpful, given the weather!) We also were able to borrow some umbrellas - which was extremely helpful. We were very grateful for this. The rooms were beautiful & very comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who asks. A central location, attentive staff and impeccable rooms. Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

This was probably the best hotel experience that we have had in Europe. The staff, the building, the breakfast buffet were all excellent. On arrival, I told the doorman that I had stood in front of the hotel fifty years ago as a student and vowed I would come back.. He whisked us off to reception where we were treated like royalty. Our suite was exquisite. We enjoyed three wonderful breakfast buffets.. In particular, Hamzy was friendly as well as efficient. This is definitely the place to stay in Amsterdam

Location location location!!! This is where you want to be. Everything is basically walking distance. And it’s just a nice area. Hotel was beautiful, very clean. Staff is extremely helpful and kind. Rooms are spacious, clean, beds and comfy. We got upgraded twice. Would definitely recommend and come back here. Housekeeping comes early- very thorough and refills everything !!! There’s water, a nespresso machine and tea kettle as well in the room. Breakfast is actually very decent although not many vegan options, but my Husband enjoyed it. They also have non diary milk :)

    - Very good location, it’s exactly and literally in the city center (Dam square) - Very clean hotel. - Spacious room when you compare it to other rooms in Europe. - Good concierge service. - Very kind and helpful staff by the door (help you to get a car - gives water and umbrella when needed) - The phone was not working and the staff in the reception were told several times but nothing was done to fix it, every time we need something we had to go downstairs to tell them personally like if we’re still in 1910 or something. - One of the sinks was plugged and also they were informed once and nothing was done, the other time I insisted they send a plumber immediately to fix it and they did ( why do I have to ask for the same thing many times when I paid this amount of money?) -A bit pricey.

What a wonderful respite in the heart of Amsterdam. Excellent service from the front desk to the turndown staff. Every question answered in the most polite and professional manner. The breakfast hall is delightful and the presentation was first rate. The selection in the Champagne Room was fun and flavourful. Every staff member was gracious and friendly. Couldn’t have picked a better place to begin our two weeks in Europe.

This is truly a five-star hotel. Its central location in Amsterdam is unbeatable, placing you right at the heart of everything. The service is exceptional, characterized by its speed and efficiency. However, despite these remarkable qualities, there are a few points to consider. The breakfast experience could be enhanced as it felt somewhat repetitive with a limited selection. Additionally, the TV system could use improvement; even if you're not particularly interested in casting or media sharing, it can be challenging to access your favorite shows from your phone or laptop.

Beatrice on the front desk was very friendly and her level of service was amazing! We had a room overlooking Dam square and although there was a little noise overnight it was worth it to look out onto the square at night from the floor to ceiling windows in the room. Room was large and comfortable and location was second to none only a 20 min walk from the station and right on Dam square

Stayed here for two days. No TV for the first 24 hours after multiple service calls. No instructions as to how to contact the front desk from the telephone. Had to download an app to get anything to work and then scroll through multiple services to find the front desk. No room service because apparently we had triggered do not disturb, which is some light switch type thing that no one explained to us and check in. For a five-star hotel it really fell short in the number of departments. Had to ask to get the room cleaned up and when we were trying to enjoy the space people had to be coming in and fixing TVs and fixing the housekeeping, which should’ve all been done because we had put in a service ticket for it. Lighting is very poor in the room. Multiple confusing switches everywhere but hard to figure it out. You have to spend some time. trying to figure out how to use this room. Trying to see anything in the room in the daytime there’s just not enough light coming in through the window. This room cost 2000& US for two nights without breakfast. So for that price I think the service fell short.

Perfect stay. Couldn't have wished for anything better really. Staff were SO helpful, nice and went out their was to make me feel special (it was my 30th). They added a lovely, personal printed card to my room, along with a large happy birthday chocolate bar! The hotel is stunning from top to bottom. I've found sometimes a hotels reception is the "5 star" bit but the hallways/corridors and often rooms fall short of your expectations but this is not the case here. The location is as good as it gets. Housekeeping was very good and even came up after normal time because I'd missed them by accidentally triggering the "do not disturb" button. They stock up the extra stuff I requested and it was all completed before I came back. Mini bar wasn't crazy prices either, which surprised me. Was an incredible stay. Thank you 😊

Overall we had a great experience. The King bed was too hard for my taste, and I would have appreciated a hotel gift shop, but everything else about our stay, and the property were great. The staff were excellent. The Tailor was spectacular. Concierge was a great help, and assisted my family with several supports.

Everything about this hotel is fantastic. From the cleanliness, beauty, and location… to the top notch team - we were so happy with our stay! Make sure to take advantage of the brunch, if you can! It truly had everything and anything you could ever ask for. Five stars across the board - thank you for a wonderful experience.

We arrived before noon and they were able to get us into a room. We stayed in a suite overlooking Dam Square. The room and the view were exceptional. The room was modern, beautifully designed and very clean. The breakfast room was incredible with many offerings and excellent service. We would definitely recommend this hotel and we would stay there again.

Pros: -Really nice hotel with a great location. -The door staff are super helpful and overall customer service very good. -Bed is huge and comfortable. Cons: -We found the room to be rather far away and confusing to find, also it was loud at times at night being next to a bar in the alleyway. -TV could offer a better selection of channels… -We could not open a window in the room.

My husband and i LOVE this hotel. Perfectly located in the square. And was upgraded at no charge to the family room. The service was impeccable and being so close to the action was fun. If you want a quieter location stay further out on the canals, but this hotel can’t be beat for really enjoying the city.

We booked a room for one night, but as 1 our family member was sick, we had to extend our reservation. Our room was already booked, so administration promised us another one. Usually you have to wait several hours until the room is cleaned and you can check in, but in this hotel, although it was difficult to find places, they very quickly organized another room for us so that a person who was not feeling well had the opportunity to lie down. Very nice staff, wonderful manager. Thank you very much for your timeliness and openness to clients ❤ And also the hotel’s wonderful location, within walking distance of the main square, many museums and attractions. Magnificent interior and top-level service. The compliment my husband recieved with wishes for a quick recovery was so nice. We really appreciate it and will definitely come back here again.

Great location, but not really a five stars. It feels understaffed, with little attention to details. At arrival, the bedroom was not clean. Hair in the tub, dirty little towel pleated on the sink tablet as if it was good to go, and water from previous guests in the kettle. I had to place multiple calls to the reception and finally find a cleaning lady myself in the hallway to have the situation fixed and be able to take a shower 90 minutes after. Mistakes happen, but poor handling of a bad situation from the management. They felt a phone call three days after to check everything was ok "now" was enough of an apology. Underwhelmed...

A very high level hotel, very helpful and welcoming. There was a problem with the room and it was solved immediately so that we could have a good and fun stay. The hotel is in an excellent location, the best in Amsterdam, highly recommend. We will definitely come back here again!!!

Summary of our stay here is excellent hospitality and customer service. We had an issue in our room where the night light would not turn off. We called the front desk and they sent a technician. When it became evident it was not being resolved immediately, to our delight, they did not hesitate to upgrade us immediately to a bigger room. Additionally, the excellent service at the breakfast. With fast service on seating and beverages delivery by the lovely waitresses, it was always a great start to our day. Many thanks to Jocelyn, Aida Barerra Rosanna, Edna

Amazing and beautiful hotel. Love it!!! Perfect location, comfortable room, nice and helpful staff. Recommend to take bikes from the hotel. The Cafe is also good. Delicious breakfast. There was not enough hagelslag :). We also had the best price.

A huge hotel made by joining many buildings together. It felt well presented, the staff were helpful to the point of leaving the building to show us places to eat. I had a door key fail which was a pain when it takes you 5 minutes to walk to your room from reception, but it was a minor error.

15/10 for this hotel. Cannot recommend it enough. The staff were right to your service, very friendly and helpful. A big thank you to Samira for making our stay so comfortable. We stayed on the top floor and the view and decor were out of this world! Stunning design, the bathroom was my favourite part of the room. Everything extremely clean! The breakfast/food hall is phenomenal! We loved Rosanna and Maureen 😊 so helpful and friendly! Honestly couldn't recommend this hotel enough! I don't think I would stay anywhere else when going to Amsterdam. You couldnt get a better location, right on Dam Square, in the heart of the city. Absolutely my favourite hotel I've stayed in.

Last weekend we stayed at the hotel. From the first moment we arrived the service was excellent. At first there was something wrong with our room. We went to the reception to report this, we gave the staff our room key so they could change the room while we were shopping. When we came back we were escorted to the new room by 3 staff members, they even had a note from the manager and a plate full of homemade chocolates. The new room was bigger and more beautiful then the one before. The next day at breakfast, I have never seen such kind and helpfull people. The service was amazing and nothing we asked was too much. Marilen, Jocelyn and Donna, thank you for the nice talk and everything during breakfast. You are really an asset to the hotel! Also thanks to the staff from the reception, you really made our stay amazing!

The staff is amazing. The breakfast is a must. Definitely add the breakfast. Marilen, Rosanna, Aida, Jocelyn Joey, and the best omelette makers ever make it a great experience. I would have given the hotel 5 stars but we did not have hot water in the shower.

Fantastic location, far enough that one can have a nice and silent stay away from the vibrant areas. Décor in hotel was funky and out there. Comfy beds, rooms on the small side but nicely decorated and well equipped. The towels/bath sheets in particular were of a really good quality. Staff were excellent and made our stay very relaxing and comfortable.

This hotel was a great stay in a very convenient part of Amsterdam! We literally walked everywhere. Service was excellent and the staff was very kind and friendly. Great, comfortable king bed and a nice shower. I wouldn’t pay for the breakfast as it looks pretty basic and there’s so much to eat in Amsterdam. Check out The Tailor cocktail bar within the hotel and also make a reservation at The White Room for a fine dining experience!

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. It is so beautiful; the rooms and beds are so comfortable and the staff is fantastic! From the very welcoming check in process to the awesome concierge, we were delighted. Great location, too. The breakfast buffet is off the charts in the remarkable Winter Garden. Would recommend to anyone & everyone! Fantastic!

My wife w I decided to celebrate our anniversary in Amsterdam. The Grand hotel made sure that we enjoyed our stay and before arriving, they informed us that our room Will be specially decorated. Once we arrived, we found the room filled with lovely decorations. The hotel was helpful and friendly and the service was quick and superb. I tried the breakfast at the Wintergarden restaurant and it was a very delicious. Overall, out stay at the Grand Hotel was excellent and will definitely come back one day.

The hotel was fully refurbished and it’s looking pretty good. The location and staff are EXCELLENT. The breakfast is in such a lovely restaurant and the food great. We just thought that the pillows could be better. I struggled to sleep on them every night. And the AC should be made to work better. The rooms were boiling!

  • 5/5 Mustafa M. 1 year ago on Google
All the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are great, and the location is excellent. It’s one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in and I’d definitely come back to it. We wanted to walk everywhere so the location is perfect, everything is within walking distance from the area and you have a lot of restaurants and stores in the vicinity. Highly recommend this hotel.

Right on Dam Square, the hotel looks a little unassuming from the front, but is quite big inside. High end finishes throughout the hotel, huge comfortable beds with everything in the room you could ask for. Staff were always very friendly, breakfast included and had a huge selection from cooked breakfast and omelettes, to pastries and cheeses. Didn't actually realise it was a 5⭐ hotel when booking, but certainly lived up to it!

  • 5/5 Laura Ann L. 1 year ago on Google
Completely central to dam square so fab locations for first timers. Impeccable rooms and service. Unsure if all rooms are like this but my dad and I booked a "twin" room which turned out to be 2 twin beds pushed together and before we even noticed (as we would have just pulled the beds apart) we were upgraded to a 2 double bed family room with double bathroom and lounge area! Absolutely outstanding and really made our stay! Thank you so much 💓

I don't normally drop reviews but our stay with Anantara has been exceptional and it exceeded our expectations. We surely had a lovely stay, thanks to all the friendly and accommodating staff of this amazing hotel! Lovely location at the core of the city, great rooms with huge washrooms and also, we had superb breakfast and service tended by Miss Aida B. It's our first visit in Holland but if we come back, we will book with Anantara again for sure!

Had an amazing stay here with my mother and sister! Upon arrival we realized we made a booking mistake and booked a room with only one King Bed. The front desk, Sammie, I believe helped us with this efficiently and got us moved to a different room. The room was extremely well appointed with exquisite detail. The Tailor Bar and main restaurant are some the best places in the area. The absolute star of the show was breakfast!!! Will stay here on every trip.

Beautiful hotel in dam square. My party stayed 6 nights over the New Year’s Eve holiday and I don’t have much to complain about. The breakfast was amazing, I especially liked the yogurt bar. I loved all the selections of mocktails the bar had too. Overall, if I find myself in Amsterdam again I would love to stay at this hotel again.

Very luxurious hotel with beautiful clean rooms. The staff is very friendly. Good breakfast buffet with friendly and helpful staff. Options for 2 good restaurants located within the hotel. Great location also. At Dam Square with lots of great shops and restaurants nearby.

The location of the hotel is excellent, walking distance to shops and restaurants. The breakfast at the hotel was also delicious with a huge variety of foods to choose from. We stayed there 5 days and all the personnel was very attentive to our needs. Will recommend to anyone who wants to visit Amsterdam. Attached pictures within walking distance of the hotel.
