Scammers. I made a reservation for €500 last year that had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. For over a year they have been ignoring my emails. On the rare occasion I've gotten through to them on the phone they've lied to me, then they duck my calls. Yet they have time to promote the hotel on Facebook daily. I am likely never going to get my €500 back, after getting nothing in return for it. If that sounds good to you, I'd recommend making a reservation with these fraudsters. For everyone else, keep your money in your pockets and away from Quentin Hotels.

A bad note and a bad review because I booked a room in this hotel, and told my arrival hour, and once my confirmation mail in my box I took my train and finally came in front of the door at the time I said... Then nobody to answer me or open the door... it's closed !!! I can't believe it...the worst thing that can happen when you travel in another country, is that you don't find a place to sleep. Happily I found a hotel just next door with an empty room to stay. What would happen if every hotel around was full? sleep outside? So thank you for teaching me a good lesson : Even if you book a room on the internet, ALWAYS call the hotel and check if the booking is well done just after receiving confirmation letter. I beagan my stay very bad thx to you and it's unforgivable. I won't do the mistake to try your hotel again

Very disappointed. The pictures of the rooms looks much better than in reality. For the price that I paid I could’ve had much better service and facilities. To start with, they did not mention that the breakfast will not be available due to corona measures. It shows on booking that they still offer breakfast. My room was in another building. It was a walking distance from the lobby building. Stairs were cracking, broken and very steep. the building look so old and creepy. The room itself smelled like vomit. There was one outlet in the entire room and wasn’t near the bed. The free internet was so slow and the connection kept crashing. The one advantage will be the location, but still there are so many better options near it that could be less expensive with better service. Also.. I was traumatized when one of the staff walked into my room while I was still in there sleeping. It happened twice. I was late at checkout but they should know that I still in the room. Respecting my privacy was the bare minimum they could do. The second employee didn’t even apologize and he dares to enter the room to translate to me that I should hurry up to checkout. It wasn’t less than rude and frustrating. Please don’t go to that hotel.

The Staff were very friendly. The check in is just after 15h and they allowed us to put our bags in a separate room. Breakfast was fine, nothing special (but 2 of the 3 plant milk packages were not good for consumption). We stayed for 3 nights and the room service was quite disappointing, they just changed the towels and made the bed just for the second night. The room decoration was old and worn. The bathroom was very tiny and had mold and mildew! The elevator wasn’t working and the stairs to the second floor were almost like climbing a wall. They ask you for a 100€ deposit and a 15pp tax. If you already booked with them, good luck because you will need it!

UPDATE: Hotel responded via Google Reviews 7 months after I posted below review. They appear to be interested in "resolving" the issue so I emailed them. Their "resolution" was to offer me a 6 month extension to a voucher to stay there! I have long since re-booked my holiday with a professional hotel, as if a response 7 months late is ever going to help. Review stands: Give these people money at your peril. BUYER BEWARE. Booked two nights in Amsterdam that got cancelled back in 2020 due to covid. Hotel was very accommodating initially and we were advised to re-book when travel opened up again. Have been trying now to contact them for over 6 weeks. Phone at reservations rings off the hook. Phone at hotel the same. No response to repeated emails. Even tried the email "contact us" link on web page. Its as if they have locked all their doors and simply walked away...with our money. (and other's money by reading reviews). We all understand hard times, but SOME communication would be professional.

Save yourself time best way to describe this place is Faulty Towers ! If you aren't scared of heights and stair case that feel like you are going to enter into a another Vortex then book! The radiators are joke me and my partner had 8 hours sleep in 3 days due to the noise, the shower didn't work in the other room . Only great thing was the location the rooms aren't cleaned properly and when you complain they don't wanna know I've asked for some money back cause of the inconvenience and lack of sleep!

Great location, within a good walk distance to the main part of town. Good customer service offering a nice breakfast service. Steep stairwells to the upper floors.

Booked a hotel through Booking.com but no one opened the door nor answered the phone (tried numerous times throughout the day). In other words, I wasted my money. Do not book here unless you want to waste your money and wait indefinitely in front of the hotel for someone to open up.

The only thing that checks out with the available description is the address - nothing else. The so called “hotel” is extremely dirty, they even took my own personal towel from my room and I quote “it is gone forever”. First you have to pay and only then you can go check your room - it is a smart strategy because if you would actually see the room before payment you would just simply leave. Probably the worst place I have ever stayed at.

Worst hotel experience ever!!! My boyfriend booked a room for 3 nights at this hotel for which he paid 868 EUR! What was supposed to be a decent hotel, turned out to be the most disgusting place I've ever seen. No matter how this hotel looks online, you never really know what HORRORS is hiding until you get there!!! We were given a room on the 4th floor, even though there was no elevator and we had 2 large suitcases. The stairs of the building are from 1900 and you are afraid to use them even without having to carry a 20kg suitcase. We were helped by someone to get to the 4th floor, and from the moment we arrived in the room, we experienced both visual and olfactory shock: - The smell in the room was worse than a public toilet - The bedspread was dirty and stained - The windows looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years - The curtains were torn, dirty and dusty - There was hair on the floor - The towels in the bathroom smelled and not like laundry detergent The hotel refused to refund the 3 nights paid, although we left the place as soon as we booked another hotel (about an hour). The only solution they proposed was to offer us a room in the basement!!! PLEASE AVOID THIS SO CALLED “HOTEL”!

Hotel Staff were nice, room was decent, could of done with a kettle and tea & coffee. Decent place to stay, very close to everything you would need for a few days stay... No real complaints, room was clean, tidy. Bed was very very comfy..

The only saving grace of this hotel is its location. Staff unfriendly and unhelpful, very steep stairs, no elevator and no one to help carry luggage to our room, which was on the 3rd floor. Of the four nights we stayed here, only ONE morning our room was made up, in spite of me requesting it and hanging the 'please make up my room' tag on the door. This meant we had no coffee, except the first morning and for four days our dirty cups from the first morning's coffee stood on the table. At least we received clean towels each day, which meant someone was in the room but didn't bother to do anything else. The last morning we only had one towel. Our room was incredibly small, bed had no headboard, not enough space in cupboard for clothes, and window couldn't open or close properly. It was propped up by a piece of wood to keep it open! The bathroom was beyond tiny. Could barely move in there and there is no space to place a vanity case, or even a make up bag. There was some renovation happening, which wasn't pleasant during our stay, but at least it shows they're improving some aspects, but this will not give me much confidence to return again. I would not recommend. Nothing looks like it does on their photos. It was more expensive than a very nice hotel we stayed in Paris just days before, and you can't even begin to compare it with other hotels in the same price range. I'd suggest rather staying somewhere else.

Not stated yet but cannot get hold of anyone at the hotel and when I do they hang up. I have a booking and they have stopped responding to my emails as I need to change dates due to an emergency. This has been going on for weeks.

The hotel premises are divided into two buildings, one on no. 89 and another on no. 86. I stayed at the 86. Both are close to an Albert Heijn store, and the bus/tram stops. Bus 397 will take you from/to Schipol Airport. The staff allows you to store your luggage before check-in/after check-out. My room is small but not cramped. The bedroom and bathroom are clean. We can open the window to let fresh air breathes into the room. The heater works. I'm not a fan of the mattress; it is too soft for my back. The staff cleans my room every day except for the last day before checking out. To reach the upstairs room, you have to choose between the very steep stairs and a very slow elevator. Amenities: - Liquid soap, shampoo, toothpaste, towels, hair dryer - A desk and a chair - Coffee, tea, cups and an electric kettle Breakfast is served in the house no. 89. You can at least get coffee, tea, juice, bread and jams, croissants, and fruits (bananas, apples, oranges). The supervising/receptionist lady, who can speak English very well and maybe Spanish or Italian too, exudes friendliness and a hint of rudeness at other times. Other staff don't speak English well. I'd give 4 stars if the mattress were easy on my back.

Great location, rooms a bit small and stairs are steep but check in was smooth. Our room came with a lettle,4 plugs, a safe and a wardrobe, next to a desk, with a TV also. pretty good honestly.

The receptionist was extremely helpful and nice. The rooms had a good price/quality ratio. You can't expect 5 star rooms if you don't pay a 5 star price. But still everything was nice and neat. We were givin a room with a small terrace so good to smoke on the terrace. Great location right next to Leidsplein. Our original reservation was for the Quentin England Hotel and I confess at the beginning I was a little worried about them changing reservation to the Quentin Amsterdam. But everything turned out great. I most likely will be returning to this Hotel in the future.

The personnel was very kind and helpful, always nice and joyful. The hotel itself maybe isnt the newest, but it’s definitely great for travellers who want to see the city and have somewhere to sleep. Many people complain about dust or dirt but it was very clean, and service came every day to change our towels and bins :) There are things that show marks of usag but it’s quite obvious looking at amount of visitors - it mainly shows that many people choose it so it’s a great location. I overheard how much of work there is to do and how few people there are that can do the job so I think it should be appreciated how hard they’re working!! Summing up, I highly recommend this place <33

The entire hotel smells like grass in the afternoon. You can also smell it in the bathrooms. There is no elevator so you need to carry your luggage up the steep creaking stairs. Bathrooms seem unclean and doors/walls are very thin. Our window was broken and you cannot lift up the window that far - so you are pretty stuck with the heat and smell of weed. This also made it impossible to sleep at night in a loud city like Amsterdam. For some this weed smell might be rough, but otherwise the hotel is good for a cheap price compared to the others. Location is nice, but it’s not worth it unless you can sleep in a loud environment.

There are several reasons to why I rate this hotel one star. 1) There is no elevator, and you have to carry your luggage up all the steep stairs of the hotel. 2) In the afternoon and night, the hotel smells of grass. 3) The walls and doors are very thin, you could hear the hallway too well at night. 4) Our window was broken and there was no airconditioner. Only way we had air in our room was to support the window with a plank. You also had to choose between no air or the noise outside. 5) The breakfast is too small and it’s better to go to a bakery instead for breakfast.

The stair is scary as hell. It’s so steep wondering is someone died falling off the stair. The room so small. 332euro for a night it’s like living in a shoe box.

If you don’t care about climbing stairs (like for real) and a small room for the standard then it’s ok. Our rooms were clean and fitting description. The other comments were severe and we were scared of what we would find but it in the end it was more than ok. In conclusion it did the job for one night

Friendly staff at the reception, room are cozy and heated, they have towels, shampoo and liquid soap and a hair dryer. Since i've read so many bad reviews about this hotel, i've been pleasantly impressed by the conditions. And more than that, the hotel is positioned very convenient to the heart of Amsterdam. Considering the price/distance ratio, they have the best price. I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone and I would definitely come back here.

While I love the location, the WiFi quit at around 9 pm and did t start to work again until about 8 AM. despite being told this is a smoke free hotel, I smelled smoke first thing in the morning when I woke up. Neither my partner nor I smoke and we hadn’t opened the windows

Excellent location. Family room downstairs at number 86 was overheated and with no thermostat. Reception was unable to help. Temperature in the room in October was well over 27 deg even with windows open. Waste of energy of colossal proportions. Layout is awkward. Had instant coffee and kettle in room.

I was kind of scared to stay at the hotel because of the reviews. My room was actually okay. It was clean and the shared bathroom was clean as well. The location was good as well.

On arrival, an extremely steep stairway up into the hotel greeted us. A struggle with heavy suitcases. The staff were welcoming and always polite. Issue with toilet rectified very promptly. Didn't like the shower/wet room having to clean up excess water on floor by toilet/sink every. The room and decor were to a good standard. Just enough storage space. No tea/coffee making facilities in room. Hotel in a great location to trams. Easy reach to cafes and bars. Great location by canals. Views were great. In a quiteter location just a stones throw from busy area.

AWFUL from start to finish! Arrived at the hotel and the hotel hadn't received our booking, when I had it all confirmed on my side via emails. We wasted 3 hours of our holiday at the reception desk trying to get to the bottom as to why our booking was not received by the hotel. The hotel wasn't able to put us up in the room we had booked as someone else had taken it and the hotels alternative was for us to pay 375 euros for ONE night and for us to receive a refund at a later date. This was all suggested by a poor Saturday girl who was on her own who had no authorisation to allow us to do anything else but pay this ridiculous amount as there was no management on site or no management available for us to speak to as they were off enjoying their holidays. We paid the 375 euros as we didn't want to be trekking round Amsterdam trying to find accomodation on the day and waste anymore time of our holiday. Got into the room and it was disguting. Paint falling off the walls. Shower head didn't stay in one position so had to hold it whilst showering. Furniture looked old. Was an awful stay from start to finish. 2 weeks after our arrival and we are STILL waiting for our refund. Please, please, please avoid this hotel at all costs. Side note, whilst we were waiting at the reception for 3 hours, another gentleman was complaining to the receptionist about shocking mould that was all over his bedroom and he couldn't physcially sleep in there and no one from the hotel was there to help. Poor from management, you should be closed down! The images provided by the hotel sells something that isn't actually there! I WANT MY REFUND.

160 + euro per night no breakfast included Tea and coffee in rooms ?????? I had no coffee only 2 teabags one of which was open had to ask for some coffee it didn't arrive during my stay. 1 electric socket not working so had to use extension cord across room Room very small but clean Staff pleasant enough TV impossible angle to watch and no signal but not a problem as hotel centrally located and lots to do in Amsterdam

  • 4/5 Delphean O. 1 year ago on Google
Good location. The staff were fantastic, allowed us to leave our luggage when we checked out so we didn't have to spend our last day carrying it around. Staff on hand 24/7 which was great and have a small bar where you can buy some drinks to take to your room. The room was a good size for 3 people, had 2 single beds pushed together and then another single. There was a small desk which had a kettle and tea/coffee sachets. Toilet and shower very nice and clean too. The TV wouldn't work though, we told them part way through our stay and they gave us another option to try and get it to work but it still didn't. Wasn't the biggest problem but at tines would have been nice to have some background noise when back at the room. Will definitely be staying here again in the future though.

Probably the worst hotel experience i’ve had. As others have mentioned the rooms are small and worn, the stairs are really steep and the railing is worn and loose. Breakfast is very bad with only toasted bread, hotdogs and coffee.. But the worst part was that we had hotel staff walking in on our room in the middle of the night at 00:30 to ”check if anybody was staying there”. Absolute disaster, never in my life have i had that happen to me. Don’t stay at Quentin Amsterdam, it is super expensive for what it is. At most it’s a two star hotel and then i’m being kind.
