My partner and I stayed at The Hard Rock Hotel in Amsterdam on 30/8/22 - 1/9/22. From the minute we arrived to when we departed from the hotel, the service was absolutely excellent! The hotel room was very clean and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable and spacious. We were pleasantly surprised at the personal greeting on the TV. The shower room was beautiful, the shower was very enjoyable! The staff were extremely helpful and kind, friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much to ask for. The whole theme to the hotel was amazing and interesting. We really felt like we were stepping back into a part of music history. Overall we would highly recommend visiting this hotel. We will definitely be going back! Thanks to all the lovely staff who made our stay very enjoyable!!

Very nice hotel. The staff were friendly. The only disappointment was that we booked a superior double with a balcony. All the pictures on the website showed the balcony overlooking the canal, however we had a balcony looking inward to someone else's room. It was pointless except to open the window for fresh air. There was no view worthwhile looking at. This should be pointed out when booking or at least on the website pictures. The breakfast had lots of choice but for the cost I have have had better outlooks from a balcony

This is an exceptional spot to commemorate Kings Day with your loved ones. The location offers breathtaking views from the balcony rooms, so make sure to book one in advance to enjoy the stunning scenery. The area is surrounded by amazing food choices, giving you the chance to indulge in different cuisines. Moreover, everything you need is within reach, so you can have a hassle-free and unforgettable celebration.

I recently visited the hotel and I experienced extremely disappointing service at the front desk due to one of your employees who was extremely rude. The Asian lady on the front desk had a lack of professionalism and courtesy which left me with a very negative impression on my overall experience. I hope that the attitude of your employee is addressed as no one should be spoken to in the manner in which she engaged with me.

High tea with my Dutch friends from Italy. Nice experience. Good food. I would have preferred more salty things but that's me 😅. Everything was very good tasting. Friendly service, Carlos was our waiter. Thanks for everything.

We got our first floor room. The view was very nice and you got a little balcony. Also equipped with big TV and hot tub. The bed was very comfortable. I haven’t have a good sleep in a hotel for so long, yet I slept so well on their bed. The only downside is that, I got woke up at 3am on a Friday night. As everyone knows, Lidesplain is know for clubs, tourists etc, so I would suggest NOT to get a lower level room. Get a room that’s on higher floor or you will be hearing tons of noises in the middle of the night. They also got a bar downstairs, which is cool. Their cocktails were a bit too sweet but it’s fine. Overall a really good location, nice vintage room, nice staffs.

Good hotel, plenty of character, in a good area. Clean and well presented, with a nice bar and the American cafe on site. I enjoyed my week’s stay at this hotel. The hotel bar does better cocktails than the American cafe. The American cafe has a piano that guests appear to be able to to play, if that’s something that you fancy.

Nice hotel not far from the places to See in Amsterdam. The Hotel seems to have very thin walls, sometimes you think someone is in your room, when there are people speaking in the corridors. The room wasn't really clean and some of the soaps were used. Breakfast is ok, you can eat Buffet an they have a Breakfast Menu as well. All in one we had a nice stay :)

Lovely building, however on arrival was asked to pay a 50 euro deposit per night we was staying. There is no mention of this anywhere so be prepared, we also only received 40 euros back from this 150 euro deposit for no reason! We left our room as we found it and only used room service once which came to 11 euros! Lovely hotel and location was excellent but was honestly let down massively by this altercation, I did contest this at the hotel and they said if we feel we should return more they will do, which they of course have not!

Amazing stay here at the hard rock hotel, very friendly staff also super pet friendly here as well w/ deposit 100€ and pet fee 60€. This is definitely a hotel I would stay at again on my next visit. I’m in love with the aesthetic and it’s right near the tram so it’s easy to get around central Amsterdam, and the parking garage is five minutes walking from the hotel. Hotel rooms are very secure you have to use your room key to get into the elevator as well as your room.

This hotel is in the PERFECT location in Amsterdam. We had a junior suite and our room was huge! I will say the thermostat didn’t work in 107 but we found ourselves not needing it at all. The rooms are really quiet and we never heard our neighbors. The staff was so nice and went out of their way at all times. The restaurant had good food and drinks. Wonderful afternoon tea. You are in walking distance of so many amazing restaurants, bars, museums, parks, convenience stores, coffee shops, candy stores, truffle shops, and more shopping. Casa de Sergio is a nice little Italian place we loved. There is a taxi pickup right across the street if you need to get anywhere else.

Just got back from a fabulous stay. Everything was first class. I'd made an error on booking and booked a twin which when I contacted them changed for me to a double with canal view which was very nice. Even left some treats in our room for our anniversary which was very nice. We arrived early and left our bags and then had a call at about half past two saying our room was ready which was a nice touch. The room was fantastic and the bed was huge. Rooms cleaned very well each day. The concierge was very helpful. The breakfast was fantastic and open for long hours. Such a great choice. We had a few drinks in the Bar America and cocktails were great and reasonably priced. Bar man was very engaging. The location was fantastic. Lots to do around the hotel and easy access to the trams. We got the bus from and to the airport which was very convenient as the stop is a few minutes walk from the hotel. Will definitely visit again. Thank to

A group of six of us stayed at this very central hotel in February, they kindly upgraded all three of our rooms. The service was impeccable & the staff were so lovely & friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are beautiful & the breakfast was amazing. I have nothing negative to say about this hotel, we were very sad to leave & I will definitely stay in a Clayton Hotel again.

Had a lovey stay here, we arrived early and room was already ready for us . There was no body wash in the shower but as soon as we spoke to the staff it was replaced and spares given to us . We booked bed & breakfast, so glad we did ,breakfast was lovely and lots of choice and available until 11. All staff were pleasant and helpful. Location of hotel was great , we caught the bus from the airport which dropped us 3 min walk from hotel . Will definitely stay here again when visiting Amsterdam .

We had a most pleasant stay, with happy birthday balloons in our room and a generous room upgrade. We enjoyed a lovely dinner in your landmark restaurant with a breathtaking view of both the interior and the Leidseplein, with remarkably few cars passing by. One suggestion: have your complete foreign staff try to learn Dutch. One young unsmiling female waiter at breakfast did not speak Dutch and when kindly addressed on this by me in simple, slow and friendly Dutch, she impolitely retorted: "YOU can speak English!" without even a modest attempt to utter a professional phrase in Dutch. The tall Hungarian waiter, on the other hand, elegantly did his best to communicate in both English and Dutch: kudos!

The American Hotel is one of the oldest in Amsterdam and I love it! It was the Hard Rock Hotel, now it's a Clayton and the high standard has remained. Perfect location in the center of Leidseplein Square from where various trams leave that take you everywhere, tram 2 and 12 with two stops you are in Dam, as for the museums you can get to the most important ones on foot (Van Gogh, Rijksmuseum, Moco). For a different evening the Casino is in front of the Hotel. We signed up to the Clayton Club to take advantage of some discounts and upon our arrival they gave us an upgrade to a beautiful Executive Room with balcony, the view of the square is truly unique. The staff was very kind and helpful in solving every problem, special thanks to Enola (I hope I wrote the name correctly).

We had a fabulous time and nothing was too much trouble for my 50th birthday weekend also my Husbands 49th birthday . Our Rock Royalty room and lounge with complimentary food and drink was just perfect. Michel was so professional and helpful and made our stay extra special. . We had a really fun filled 4 night stay, The location on the Leidseplein is great. As I say all the staff were awesome but special mention Claire, Bas, Lisa as the quiz was fun every staff member makes you feel like a celebrity! A perfect weekend and can not wait to return . Thank you Hard Rock staff for making it extra special!

My recent visit to the American Cafe left me deeply disappointed and offended due to the shocking display of racism and disrespectful behavior by one of their waiters, Thomas. As an Arab customer, I had hoped for a welcoming dining experience, but unfortunately, it was far from that. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, Thomas seemed to harbor animosity towards us. He took our orders with an air of disdain, walking away from the table without any courtesy. To make matters worse, he served us poached eggs that were incredibly dry, he didn’t even bother to ask how we prefer them. Despite the fact that no restaurant should serve them overcooked. The worst part of the experience came when my wife politely asked if she could take away her drink , to which Thomas replied with a deeply offensive comment, "We have to recycle the glass, Don't you do that wherever you come from?" This racist remark not only ruined our meal but also left us feeling humiliated. As customers, we expect to be treated with respect and courtesy, regardless of our background or ethnicity. It is deeply disappointing that such discriminatory behavior is allowed to persist at the American Cafe. Racism has no place in any establishment, and it is disheartening to see that it was tolerated by the management. I urge the American Cafe to take immediate action to address this issue and implement training and policies to ensure that all customers are treated fairly and respectfully. Racism should never be tolerated, and it is essential for businesses to foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend the American Cafe to anyone until they address these serious concerns and demonstrate a commitment to treating all customers with dignity and respect.

Nice Art Deco etc, slept OK 1 night, curtains drawn as draft coming through the balcony doors..Next night the room was a haze of Ganja, the curtains help against the draught but not the ganja smoke..its allowed so not complaining, my complaint is how did it get in the room...then 01.15 someone banging on the door and also at 01.30...no sleep for us that night, I did complain at reception when checking out but a pretty awful response..I have written to complain..Nice area of town but stay somewhere else..

We just returned from an 8-night stay in Amsterdam, and we stayed at the Clayton Hotel in Amsterdam (formerly the Hard Rock Hotel). Nothing but great things to say about this hotel -- the front desk staff and bellhop were very friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned and made up every day, and everything was perfect there. And the location can't be beat -- near the intersection of two tram lines, and walking distance to the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. And the building itself is beautiful, inside and out. We're already dreaming of our next trip to Amsterdam, and this will be our first choice of lodging when we begin to make plans. Highly recommend.

Hotel seems in very good hands since being bought by the Clayton group. Room was fun and funky with nice decor, Chromecast smart TV and fender Bluetooth speaker. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Area is very busy and close to lots of sights, bars and restaurants. Takes about 30 minutes to get there from the airport via bus and tram.

The hotel is now the Clayton. The staff were absolutely amazing. We flew in early and they checked our luggage. They provided maps and directions of the city. Hotel is in a great location, can be a little loud (we stayed over a Friday night). Great bar and cafe as well.

This was our second time staying here (first time was last year and it was the hard rock hotel). Nice rooms and great location to everything. This time we got a balcony room and the room was smaller but having the balcony was nice. Very clean, nice staff. Would stay again.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The moment you check in you feel like you are a part of the world of the great rock stars. The atmosphere in the hotel is fantastic. Great rooms and really good cuisine. Very well situated in the centre of Amsterdam at the Leiddeplein.

Very nice hotel with a view on Canal. The stuff was really friendly and if you rake two floors junior suite you have to be satisfied.

Everything are customer centric. A best place to discover Amsterdam for a 3 to 5 days. Close to perfection 🤙. Try and enjoy your trip 🇪🇺

I absolutely love this place! The hotel facilities are superb, nicely located right in the heart of Amsterdam with a short walk you can reach almost everything in town. Whenever visiting Amsterdam, that’s the place to stay! Staffs at the American Hotel are fantastic and the room was nice and clean! The bar of the hotel is a nice place to grab a drink before strolling through Amsterdam. 👌

We spent six nights here, and although we weren’t all that happy at first, the longer we stayed the more we enjoyed staying in this historic hotel. We had great sleeps on the enormous bed, and really enjoyed our huge Junior Suite with late sitting area. A large bay window overlooked a somewhat busy canal, so there was always something to look at (keep your eyes open for the family of bright green parakeets living in the adjacent trees). I enjoyed soaking in the tub after long days at museums, and the rain shower had plentiful hot water and good pressure. Breakfast was fine, though a bit repetitive. For a hearty start, order the uitsmijter- fried eggs with ham and cheese. We had a few minor housekeeping issues which were dealt with swiftly, and although we didn’t care much for the decor or room layout (why place basins right beside the bed?) we really liked the hotel and its fantastic location close to everything we wanted to do. We would gladly stay here again, and for the price paid (book directly on their site), you really can’t beat the value in expensive Amsterdam. Thanks team for a great stay!

Great hotel overall, but the pillows and were awful and my queen bed was actually two mattresses with a topper on top. They would constantly move and I barely slept. Otherwise a very clean, original and quiet hotel. Breakfast was delicious.

Concepts are great but quality hotels are founded on a bedrock of service excellence - The Hard Rock Hotel is a hopeless failure in terms of service and about as far from service excellence as I could imagine. 1. We specified Rock Royalty rooms for our stay with a dedicated floor, express check in etc. 2. We were 5 people in 3 rooms 3. Ahead of our stay we received an email from the hotel highlighting the benefits of our Rock Royalty package with a dedicated check-in desk to avoid waiting to get to your rooms 4. My friend waited 30 minutes for his room upon arrival 5. I waited 20 minutes for my room upon arrival 6. Our rooms were not together as promised 7. We were charged for breakfast which should have been included with the room 8. Our upgrade was a different price on the bill to what was offered by phone when we called the hotel I spoke to the manager and gave him an opportunity to fix the issues, he fixed some of them and offered a bottle of cheap sparking wine by way of an apology which I returned to reception. Great concept with Fawlty Towers style execution - avoid.

I had stayed at the American Hotel many years ago when it was an InterContinental hotel. So it was a no brained to stay here again. The staff are warm, friendly and welcoming. Our room was small on the first floor overlooking the square and had a balcony. Yes, it can be a little noisy late at night and the trams rumble by, but as I live in London I am used to noise and it didn't bother me. The room service offered a choice of daily attention or what we preferred was to not being disturbed and all we requested was a top up of the tea coffee which is provided. We had a wonderful 5 nights at the Hard Rock Amsterdam Hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again on our next visit to Amsterdam.

Our stay in the Hard Rock Hotel Amsterdam was wonderful. There were just 2 things about it that we would change. But lets start with the positives. The location is amazing, especially if you're planning to visit Paradiso or any of the nearby museums. The hotel has very friendly and funny staff. The hall in which the breakfast was served was stunning. The rooms were also great- big bathtub, shower, comfy bed, fender in the room, big TV, the room was spacious. The two things which we didn't like about it were: 1) the room was very dark. We were on the first floor and had the canal view and really even during the day with all the lights on it was very difficult to not fall asleep there and I'm not even mentioning the nighttime (which during this time of the year starts at 4 pm). So I recommend you bring your own lights :D just kidding, unless..? 2) The windows are old and therefore it can get pretty windy in the room, even when the doors and windows are closed. Otherwise the room is modern, but these two things should really be worked on. Over all our stay was great and I wouldn't mind coming again 👍

Perfect location . The atmosphere, the staff at front desk, concierge and bar were very friendly, the interior decoration, i just love it all ,it was splendid. We enjoyed our superior room with balcony and canal view . We experienced lunch at Cafe American with good friends of ours and the meal was delicous, also the cakes are a must. 👌 Here again, very attentive and profesjonal staff.

Had a lunch drink there and I must say upon entrance this place takes you to another world of vintage collection walls and diverse staff. Drinks we ordred came on time and the staff seem to have vibe. Could not fault anything and will definitely come back to explore the food. Wine was a 6/10

Short visit ..we had a couple of minor issues which were dealt with promptly and professionally. Definitely one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in . Special mention to the lovely gentleman that looks after luggage and accompanied us to the airport.

We had a great time in Amsterdam and staying at the Clayton Hotel really made us feel at home. Location is great, there is plenty to do around the hotel within walking distance. The hotel was always clean and the staff very friendly. Each time we walked thru the lobby we were greeted. This was our second time staying at this hotel. First time during the previous brand. But not much changed, we do look forward to staying here again on our next Amsterdam trip!
