Very easy to use. Contactless wrist band that is comfortable, you can use on any amenity. The showers were warm and great water pressure. The place was clean and inviting. The self serve bar and food was great. The bed was comfortable. Small units, but really didn’t need anything big. A great compromise when you don’t want to pay full hotel prices to sleep but want more security than a hostel.

Amazing concept! Definitely worth a visit. This place in itself was a bucket list item for me and it lived up to the hype. Very well set up, room key and all vending machine payments done through a wristban. I really like this concept as you don’t have to worry about loosing your room key. This place is perfect if you want to stay at a hostel but would like the privacy of your own room. There’s people around and the staff are always there to help but can have your own space if you need it. Aesthetically, this place is sweet! Love the fast that you can choose top or bottom bunk when you arrive. Shower and toilets are clean, modern and towels and robes are provided. Definitely worth a visit! I’m planning to explore the Rotterdam CityHub next! 👀

A nice space in a great location. I enjoyed the privacy of the hub, but the communal aspect of the shared spaces. The highlight of my stay was Herman, the CityHub cat!

Great place for staying in Amsterdam. People are very welcoming and the atmosphere is really friendly. You can eat or work on your laptop in the tables at the lobby for hours and then go to dinner some place near...i would go back there!

I love this chain and the beds are incredibly comfortable. WiFi was patchy in the room and the toilet could do with a revamp (hard to tell if they're occupied!). Herman the cat was a lovely surprise and the staff were great. Not as good as the one in Copenhagen but the cat is a definite plus

I’ll start with the staff. Every single member we met treated us like old friends, yet remaining professional at all times. Always a friendly smile, always willing to help in any way they can. I’ve never witnessed customer service like it, just fantastic. Secondly, the location is brilliant. 5 min walk from the tram to get into the centre, straight forward, right opposite and have cooperation with the Breakfast Club which, is also amazing. The cleanliness of the pods, toilets, showers and communal area was 10/10. Fresh towels were readily available and because my partner and I are hot sleepers we needed a fan - within minutes of request it was outside our door. The showers are waterfall showers, an actual pleasure to use. We’re avid campers so seen some real nasty ones in our time ;-) there were hair dryers and shampoo/ body wash available for everyone. I cannot fault it. We are going to return. We loved every second of it and have already recommended it to work colleagues and friends!

It's a little off the beaten path, but if you're in Amsterdam mainly for the culture and not just to party, it's a great spot. Even still, there's a few bars around, just be sure you get your dinner before the kitchens close ;) Absolutely the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in, and the staff are super helpful and friendly. If you're looking for an upscale hostel experience, this is definitely it.

Totally worth the stay! The pods are quite small, but the lobby is a great atmosphere for playing games, having a few drinks, and planning your next move. Would stay again!

Best hostel experience I've ever had. They thought of everything that someone staying here could need. The staff is always there to help, although I had trouble with the check in kiosk several times. The open bar was rather finicky but very convenient. The lobby has a relaxed atmosphere and someone is always there to offer city tips. I loved the in room speakers and LED light schemes they had through the app. They even have a resident cat! The premises were really clean. The bathrooms and showers had a great ambiance and played classy music. I would very much recommend staying here for the location alone as it has everything you'd need if you wanted to escape the bustling city center but also be close to bars, restaurants and stores. The rooms are very soundproof and inventive.

We came here and as we arrived in Dam late in the evening we thought we would try this place as an experience before checking into hotel the next day. We are so glad we did! It was very clean, very functional, lots of welcoming and fun communal spaces, self service options and mini table tennis. Check in was easy and secure. The location is near to lots of things to do, a market, foodhall etc. The best bit and biggest shout out goes out to the staff though. They were just lovely, chatty, lots of great recommendations and they delivered the cherry on the top. I just wonder if this hotel we are going to next is going to live up to the City Hub now ?!?!?? Xxx

Perfect if you just need a room to sleep while travelling. The service is well designed - efficient and streamlined with self-check-in and door access bracelets (no padlock numbers to memorize). The pods are quiet but not totally soundproof which isn't a problem unless someone is standing outside your door talking loudly. If you're staying here take your phone calls in the reception area so you don't wake others up.

The City Hub’s are a fantastic concept and this one in Amsterdam is great - comfy beds and perfect location. Nice mix between staying in a hostel and a hotel. Staff also great. A recommendation for CityHub to make this a 5 star experience would be to improve soundproofing. You can hear everything on the top or bottom bunk, which can be annoying when you want to get some sleep. Some guests were playing loud music in the pods at the early hours in the morning, which made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep.

I was excited about our stay at Cityhub and it still blew past my expectations. Such an awesome concept that allows travelers to stay in a prime location at a reasonable cost. Loved the self-service beer and coffee. The pods were extremely compact as expected, but the lighting, music, and robes were nice touches. And the bed is very comfortable. Shared bathrooms still allow for privacy and plenty of space to clean up. The rotating staff members/guides were all very friendly and informative. Self check-in/out were a breeze. Very walkable location near an awesome food hall. If you're on the fence about this concept and don't need a ton of space, book it! My wife and I will definitely be seeking out similar concepts when we travel in the future.

amazing hostel with lots of privacy. almost feels like a full hotel experience. everything was spotless clean. lovely resident cat. comfy common areas and convenient snack and drink availability. we enjoyed the phone camera mounts next to the bed as well :P

Nice concept hotel i liked it a lot. The room space is limited but cosy. The hosts are gold standard never met such nice people like this. The style of the bathroom and wc is kind of weird but in a good way. I also can recommend the breakfast the food was pretty good. I wish I could stay longer. In full resume I think it's the best Explorer nest you'll find if you can house in small places

Had a really great experience. Leanest to manage, cleanest and quiet place. I was there for 3 days and it was quite a pleasant stay for me. And location is🔥

Always a great experience at CityHub. Everything is sparkling clean. This one is smaller than the Copenhagen one, but has all the amenities you need. Plus, they have the sweetest cat host :)

For this vacation i will use word “perfect” ,everything you need is there. As a young couple that was mainly walking and exploring the city this was perfect accomodation for that type. Service was sooooo nice and helpfull 24/7. I was skeptic about the sharing bathroom, but it was so clean with all the additional staff that you get (bathrobe, “ritual” shampoo,etc.). Overall i was glad that we stayed at the hub… Ps. The location was great and peacefull, everything was near.

Such a lovely hostel! Staff are friendly and attentive, they helped my partner with an issue and even gave us free breakfast for the problem! Rooms are super cool and bed is comfy, love how you can connect your phone to the speakers and lights. If you get a tram you’re 10 minutes from the centre making it easy to commute round amsterdam. Showers and toilets were always immaculate! Would deffo recommend to anyone who wants a bit of privacy but also for a good price!

Gotta say I was afraid of sleeping in those tiny places, but the experience was amazing. The place was extremely clean, and the inside of the cabin is not as small as you think, the bed was even bigger than any other hotel I had been in Europe, a couple can sleep peacefully and with plenty space there inside. Toilets and showers were extra clean and the service was amazing. Great option if you just need a place to sleep and get a shower.

I stayed here in June 2022. The hosts were great - super friendly and extremely helpful. Check in is easy and innovative in that you check in yourself using a screen and create your own room “key”. The place itself is cool with a series of sleeping pods. Everything was easy to find and use. Bed was comfortable, shared bathrooms were good. Reception foyer area is nice and has lots of places to sit. My only negative is that I was here just for one night at short notice and had almost no other options for a Saturday night layover in Amsterdam, so I understand the high price for one night. But that said, the property was not good value for money. It is far from Centraal station and for the price I paid I’d rather get something with a private bathroom and somewhere to sit in my own room in a more central location.

As advertised. Small pods. Clean comfortable bed. Space for 2 to stand at end of the bed. Shared toilets and showers areas well maintained. Staff very helpful. Great communal area to relax in. Would highly recommend 10 euro breakfast across the road. Foodhallen great option for dinner. 15 minutes from town on number 17 tram. Would recommend if you don't have mobility issues.

Brother and I stayed here for a few days when visiting Amsterdam. I really like that it was clean. All the employees at the reception I interacted with were knowledgeable, welcoming, and friendly. The wristband is a great idea, making it hard to lose keys. If I find myself back in Amsterdam again, I will choose city hub.

Had a lovely 3 night stay here, kind of a halfway house between a hostel & hotel. Check in was seamless, city hosts were friendly & very helpful. The pod was small as to be expected but bed was large, and there is enough room to sit up. Only thing is for 2 people it makes moving around quite tricky, if the pod was a little wider I’d have been happier but I understand price/space etc. Bathrooms were my favourite part, lovely design, clean and always empty. Only negative feedback would be more hand towel tissue, it was always empty!! The rituals shower/soap was such a nice touch (I’ve even bought the same one since leaving because it was so nice!!) The bar and lounge area was lovely, and the ‘help yourself’ concept was great !! Location was very close to the tram, but be prepared for a bit of a walk to the centre if you’re not taking the tram. Checkout was just as easy & could still use the locker after leaving (for free!) highly recommend for couples looking for a reasonably priced stay

It was my first time in a hostel and my experience was very pleasant. Room and surrounding areas were always clean, the staff was friendly and very helpful. I was hungry and all the local shops were closed and one of the travelers kindly offered me half of her food :).

Second time for me and my husband in the hub. We really love it here, the atmosphere, the facility to communicate with the receptionist by WhatsApp. I also really appreciated the good water pressure in the showers and the detail of having shower gel AND shampoo is also well received, especially knowing that the brand is RITUALS. This place is ideal for a couples trip, we’re hoping to come back soon!

Great place to stay. The facility is very clean. Bathrooms are very nice with plenty of space to get ready. Also, the service is excellent and they are very informative. Will definitely be staying here again.

We absolutely loved this place! Great combo of hostel and hotel with super nice (and clean) bathrooms and shower rooms. Pods were super cute and beds were comfy. It is a tight space with two people, but that adds to the fun of it all! All the hosts were great and super helpful. We rented bikes from CityHub which was much more convenient than renting from a third party. Was about 20-30 min walk from city centre but we enjoy walking, so it wasn't a problem. There are some nice local restaurants around, as well. Would recommend!

Absolutely fantastic spot - a quick tram ride away from the center of Amsterdam. Lovely and friendly staff and best of all a resident cat who visits you! Toilets and bathrooms were clean and well-equipped. Rooms/pods are obviously small but perfect for a short trip, would definitely stay here again if I visited Amsterdam again

It was an amazing experience. I did not really know what I was going into living so close to other people and having common bathroom and showers. But it was really nice and a luxurious experience. The room can fit pretty well two adults, having a great standard. The bathrooms and showers are separated with their own closed space and by gender. So you feel you really can be for your self. Btw showers are of the rainfall type - that I love. Really cool using worn doors to give the personality to else clean and high standard facilities. When going back and forth from the rooms you have a nice black kimono that you can use. The great thing is that you can be as social as you like here. You can stay in the hub or sit down in the shared space where it is easy coming in contact with other fellow travellers. Would really like to live here again.

This was such a fun and dynamic experience. The facilities were exactly as described. Everything was clean, and the lobby is spacious and offers you pretty much everything from snacks to ping pong. What makes CityHub stand out, however, are the hosts. They truly do go above and beyond to ensure that you feel comfortable and welcomed not only in their space, but in their city. They were always delighted to give you ideas, engage in meaningful conversations, and introduce you to others on the hostel. I have so many new friends now thanks to them! Huge thank you to Sybren, Luca and Matthias for helping make this trip so memorable with their candor and affability, and all they do to build a sense of community in this space.

My stay here was amazing. The rooms are very cool and you can connect music and lights can change according to what you want. The bathrooms are very clean and they provide some basic shampoo and soap. They also offer toiletries and snacks in their vending machines where you can pay with your wristband. Check in and check out were super efficient and there was always someone you could ask for any general inquiry. It was my first capsule hotel experience and I would highly recommend this place to other travelers.

This is my first experience with CityHub and sleeping in pods so I just can confirm that I’m very positively surprised. The lobby is cosy with small bar and lockers that was very practical on the day of leave because we left luggage in hostel after we made checkout. Rooms are clean, mattress are comfortable. All pods have sound system, you can change colors of lights, and you receive towels and robe. Bathroom is also very clean and all toiletries are from Rituals brand.

The place is super clean and the personal is super nice! The location is not really central, but the road back to the hotel made me discover some beautiful canals and streets of Amsterdam, that otherwise I would have never seen. There's a street market right outside the hostel, almost everyday, where you can pick fresh orange juice for really cheap! At night the street is very quiet even with a couple of pubs close by. A nice improvement would be the vocal control for the lights instead of using the app! But I mean it's already a 5 star review so..

  • 5/5 Orsolya K. 1 year ago on Google
Great experience, clean, half underground, so cozy, extraordinary capsule rooms but totally enough. And 0-24 bar in the lounge. Price is good compared to hotel/hostel prices around. And there is a hostel cat who visits everyone in their room, so cute😄I loved being here.

  • 4/5 Elza R. 1 year ago on Google
We only stayed there for one night but it was really nice and cozy. The personnel was very nice and polite and our stay was very pleasant. The only drawback might be that you could hear everyone walking outside of the capsule but overall it was great. We would definitely go there again.

Wonderful location, 15 minute walk to central Amsterdam, plenty of restaurants nearby as well. The hub is very safe as you need your key to get to where the rooms are. Service was wonderful, staff was very friendly. Rooms are small of course but clean and neat, you can adjust the lighting to how you like it and there are extra blankets in the lobby if you're cold. Toilets are clean and tidy, sinks only have cold running water, showers are wonderful, hot and cold running water with good water pressure. Community kitchen is available, my partner and I didn't end up using it but its there and it's clean. Hang out space is adorable and tidy as well. Occasionally a cat was in the lobby but it never went near the rooms, and it was well behaved.
