I wanna to express my profound disappointment regarding my recent stay at NH City Center Amsterdam. Unfortunately, I encountered several issues that greatly impacted my overall experience. To start with, the room I was assigned to was far too small for comfort, which made it challenging to move around freely. Additionally, I was dismayed by the poor value for money that I received, considering the quality of the accommodation provided. Moreover, I found the attitude of some of the staff members to be quite unpleasant and, in some cases, bordering on rudeness. In particular, Deon, the individual working at the show cooking station, stood out for his unfriendly and cold demeanor. Furthermore, despite bringing the matter to the attention of the hotel staff, the heating in my room was not functioning correctly, resulting in an uncomfortably cold environment throughout my stay. Although I must admit that the hotel's location was convenient and a few standout staff members made a positive impression on me. Specifically, SRI, who assisted during breakfast, deserves special recognition for her exceptional service. Additionally, I would like to commend Chris and Yassine at the reception for their professionalism and helpfulness. In light of the issues I have highlighted, I trust that you will take the necessary steps to address these concerns promptly to ensure a more satisfactory experience for future guests. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Very good location canal view was very nice. Easy walk to museums, lots of restaurants in the area. Staff was very friendly, the breakfast buffet on the main floor had a very good selection with made to order eggs. It was very well run, as every food item was replenished quickly. Staff works very hard with a smile on their faces. Sri was the hostess at the front and she was always very happy and got to know who you are, which made us feel great. Rooms were cleaned in a timely manner Thank you everyone for a great two week stay

The hotel is located in an amazing area in the center of many attractions. Everything around is within walking distance which makes the stay that much better. The staff go above and beyond during your stay. The receptionists Christi and Daisy are literally the most helpful, friendly, and professional staff Iโ€™ve encountered in my travels throughout Europe. Every staff member you meet greets you with a smile and ensures you have everything you need. Sandra is hands down the most amazing kitchen staff Iโ€™ve met. She cooks top notch breakfast and even hand delivered my plate! I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great location and friendly staff!

The location and service here were amazing. Very attentive staff that could arrange everything from taxi pickups to bike rentals and tours. Rooms were cleaned every day and they did an excellent job of it. Rooms were pretty standard - small and the beds were a bit stiff. The location can't be beat - directly in the middle of the old city and on the canal. We would definitely stay here again if we make another trip to Amsterdam. There is a restaurant downstairs where we had a good breakfast a couple of mornings, and a little mini "store" where you can pick up snacks and drinks and pay for them at a kiosk with a self checkout credit card machine. Bike rentals were super easy and then you can lock them up right outside to use for how ever many days you rent them (15 euros a day).

Breakfast is really good however there's no consistancy. Everyday the same items are cooked differently. Location is great. Room was quite dusty upon check in. Housekeeping doesn't have a standard. Each day the cleaning was different. Room design needs more thought; full length mirror is inside the wardrobe but the door doesn't open wide enough for you to see yourself! No plug points next to bed. TV is in a strange angle from the bed. The mattress is awfully hard!! The AC unit has this bright and annoying green light which lights up the room at night. And they entered my room whilst it was on do not disturb!

Modern, beautiful and very spacious rooms, modern and clean toilets. Walkable distance to all sightseeing places in the city of Amsterdam. Breakfast had lot of varieties and Car Garage for Hotel guests @50euros per night, still much cheaper than the public parking spaces. Located on the street with good Restaurants and Bars๐Ÿ‘. Also PET friendly

Love the location of this hotel. The hotel was very nice, the staff was very pleasant. The rooms are clean, small but doable. The area is near all of the best shopping. There is a Chipsy King directly across the street for some delicious fries. There is also a small bakery a couple of doors down if you want to grab a snack. I plan to visit again very soon and I am already booked for this hotel,

I have just started my stay here at NH City Centre Hotel Amsterdam , itโ€™s day 1 of an 8 day stay and this first 24 hours has been absolutely fantastic! I have a minor disability and the staff have gone above and beyond to make me comfortable and looked after . All the staff are lovely but particularly two lovely young ladies by the name of Sarah and Daisy , they took extra time to make sure my room met my needs , they were amazing ! From the moment I entered the hotel I have felt at home , itโ€™s clean , organized, but by far the staff make it superb ! I will post more reviews as my stay goes on , highly recommend this hotel folks .

I stayed at NH City Centre for my first time in Amsterdam. Location is 11 stars out of 10! We walked EVERYWHERE. Please get a room with a canal view, has it will enhance your experience to the maximum! Breakfast is delicious and very varied. Lovely bedrooms. Staff is SUPER nice and professional which makes a memorable stay. I would like to highlight the friendliness of Monika, that checked us in with a smile and lovely approach, and Brian and Liz that helped us a lot before and during our stay planning everything and being very caring during our days there. Celia and Sandra at the restaurant were absolutely wonderful people too and very helpful. A place to recommend for sure! Thank you for everything.

Nice place to stay but rooms are compact. Good view from our room over canal. Great central location. Easy access to city, attractions and Centraal Station. Air con wasn't working on hot day but they gave the offer of another room, (we decided to stay with the view)

Wonderful location with all the tourists attractions close by. It is also very close to trams and metro. Staff were nice. Breakfast had a great selection. Rooms are a little small but clean. One minor complaint is that the bathroom sometimes had sewerage smell. Also the stairs at the main door are a pain to get luggage up. Hotel had a small section to buy snacks and basic amenities. It also had a decent hair dryer and you can rent out umbrellas

Very nice hotel. Great facilities and comfortable rooms and great value breakfast! It is very close to attractions and placed pretty quite location. The reception service was not perfect as we waited some time in line. All in all, it is a great place to stay and I do recommand it!

Great location but a little expensive for what you get. I was a single traveller and my room just had a small single bed, though the canal view was lovely. There was only 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel, and a bathmat for the floor. Nothing extra. No extra balanket for the bed either. The floor had crumbs on it when i arrived (i immediately took off my shoes to be barefoot and then put them back on). If you need a bare bones hotel for a single night, this one will probably do, but be prepared to haul your bags up two sets of stairs at the entrance, as thereโ€™s no easier way inside. I didnโ€™t have breakfast but the dining area looked nice. Very bright & open. I appreciated that there was a scale in the lobby for weighing suitcases. That was very convenient when packing up.

incredible location, two minute walk from kalverstraaat. my ground floor room looked out on to the canals, and was incredibly comfortable and quiet. bath and shower were spectacular. breakfast was sumptuous and the staff were eager to serve. the gym is modest but it didnโ€™t take away from my experience because there was enough to work out with. highly recommend

This is a great hotel in every way. The views in canal rooms are beautiful. The breakfast is delicious with all kinds of options. All the hotel people are so friendly and helpful. The location is amazing, and rooms are plenty big enough for Amsterdam. I've stayed here so many times, and at many other places too, but think this is the best value for the money. And the little things do count: it was super nice to receive cookies and a note in my room Sinterklaas day this month. Can't wait to get back!

The room we had was not that big but we were given the best view, view of the canal. The location of this hotel is so perfect, 5 - 10 min walk to the flower market and if you want to go the dam square it is just 5 min walk, the groceries also nearby, everything is within reach with inn-reach. The staff Are very helpful, courteous , friendly, accommodating. The rooms are always kept clean with a free bottle of water daily. Will definitely stay again at NH citycenter.

Checked in and given a very small "standard" room (541 i think). 2 narrow and incredibly firm single beds. Not suitable for an adult with any level of comfort. Staff unable/unwilling to offer an alternative so had a sleepless night. Next day was moved to a much better room with a double bed and a decent sized window. Good response from the staff but disappointing (worst) experience on first night as someone who has used NH hotels a lot over the years and recommended them to others.

Location, location, location - right? This place is centrally located, the rooms are clean, spacious, and the beds are nice (on the harder side, if that matters to you). The staff is very friendly. The air conditioning works great! The shower has a very high lip, so you might struggle to get out. Great place to stay when visiting the city.

After getting off a 12 hour night bus we needed a place to drop our bags and use the bathroom. The hotel staff were super lovely and allowed us to store the bags for free until check in. Even though we didnโ€™t stay with them, I could tell that they knew what hospitality meant. As someone who worked in hotels for years I really appreciated the kind smile even though we were not spending our money with them. Definitely would be top of my list if I were to come back! Thank you!

The room was not what I booked. It was vastly smaller. My window looked out onto a wall so the view sucked. The breakfast was awesome. The staff friendly and helpful.

I spent a night here with my best friend and we both really enjoyed it. We got a great room with a view. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Everyone of the staff was very smiley also in the morning which brightens up the day immediately. Big recommendation :)

Great location, hotel looks dirty inside, the carpets in the hallways never been cleaned. Rooms are very very small for two people. AC does not work properly. If you try to get the room to your desire temperature is not going to happen. If you are coming from the US this is a 2 star hotel

Super helpful staff at this location! We were able to leave our bags in their storage room before and after check in. There is a small shop in the lobby with drinks and snacks. We enjoyed our stay!

Was ok the staff were friendly and nice. Overpriced for a small room and the fridge totally useless no storage on door and so small. No cutlery or kitchen facilities. They give you vouchers if you don't get your room cleaned, beverage of your choice. Yeah right there choice only beer wine or soda. I fancied a vodka (joke) Nice view and the cleaning ladies were awesome, lovely ladies.

My most deceptive stay since at least 10 years (and Iโ€™m a frequent traveler) The balance quality price is extremely low The pros : localization - friendly staff - clean - decent breakfast The cons : room are sooooo tiny Room are old and very basic Room are not properly designed : no ac nearby ur bed so no chance to plug your mobile - bathroom door that canโ€™t stay open - closet that you canโ€™t fully open (as it it too close from the bed) Bed are SINGLE bed ! So you pay 140 euros to sleep in a kids bed Light in the room make you feel like in an hospital Gym is very basic (but better than nothing ) For 80 euros I would say it would have been a fair deal โ€ฆ

Clean, friendly, convenient. I stayed for 3 days and everything was just fine. 15 minutes walking distance to museums and right next to the water in the heart of Amsterdam. Garage including Wallbox for EV's available. Tesla charged fine. Would come again. โœŒ๏ธโŒโŒโŒ(โŒโŒ)

Everything at the NH City Center Hotel in Amsterdam is top of the line. Perfect location, beautiful lobby, excellent service, comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast, clean, great shower and more. My wife and I were on vacation in Amsterdam and we enjoyed the warm and chic ambiance of the place. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Amsterdam.

Solid 8/10. Location and the breakfast buffet are the highlights. All the main attractions are within walking distance and it took us about 15 minutes to walk (with luggage) from Amsterdam central. There is lots of bars and restaurants in the area. The room was small, but had a fridge and was very functional. I'd go back mainly for the breakfast. Minus points only because our bed was hard as rock. It was like sleeping on a brick.

It was great. Room was spacious with a side view of a channel, the beds were amazeballs. Breakfast was awesome, there was everything one could want (they had me at the chocolate milk/muffins), Breakfast service was excellent everyone was super friendly. Reception was under staffed BUT the Receptionist made up for it in entusiasm. Nicely located. Will be returning.

The hotel was OK. Very close to the city centre but the room seemed a bit cheap; small bathroom, no view from the window. The breakfast however was very good with a wide range in different types of food.

Cute hotel, guest services very helpful and friendly, allowed us to check in very early. Room was small but clean, great shower. Had umbrellas we could rent for 2 euros for 48 hours. Great location

Great location right in the centre walking distance to main attractions. Hotel very clean checking took some time. Security of hotel good you need to use room key to use lifts so not like anyone can be hotel. We had 3 sharing a room, room had everything we needed definitely would stay again

  • 2/5 Zaid 2 years ago on Google
Firstly upon arrival, we booked a room with 3 separate beds and during check in the room we requested was given to family that was checking in exact same time as us, they were kind enough to turn around and swap rooms. Reception staff are slow and make you wait ages. You have to take your own luggage to your room. Toilet separate to bathroom and you have to leave your car key with reception with isnโ€™t ideal when you need to go to the car frequently.

We're staying in room 223 for our anniversary this year, the room is perfect! Just what you need, with a great view overlooking the canal. The hotel itself is in a great location, no more than a 10 minute walk to all the main attractions. The staff are so friendly and helpful! I can't recommend this hotel enough.

  • 4/5 Christian S. 2 years ago on Google
The location it's great. Just 10 minutes walk from the main streets and fun area. But far enough so you can get a good sleep without much noise on the streets. The breakfast is OK but not great. The options are limited and wouldn't recommend it for the same price you can have something more solid in any Cafe around. Service needs some improvements for advices in tours and options. Mainly because they point you out to use their partner, tours and tickets. Which is a good one but not the best. And basically you can have the same prices online so no major saving overall.

Four couples stayed in this well-located, recently (?) remodeled, and efficient hotel. Although the rooms were small, they were immaculate. The staff was unerringly helpful and friendly, the breakfast was well worth its $17, and we found many restaurants, cafes, and bakeries nearby. We'd stay there again!

  • 5/5 Kobi S. 1 year ago on Google
Excellent location!! Close to all the good shops and restaurants. Excellent service and a warm welcome. Highly recommend. Our room was a bit strange, you enter and there are stairs in front of you, but the view is amazing and the room is well equipped.

The hotel is in a fantastic location. Right in the middle of all the canals. 15 minute walk to Anne Frank's House, The Heineken brewery and tons of shops. The lady that checked us in was great. I believe her name was Estela. She took the time to map out points of interest and even searched some available tours for us to do. My wife and I had two single beds which was a little awkward. The breakfast buffet was good.

  • 1/5 Farha S. 2 years ago on Google
I have not even checked in. This review is only the review of the hotelโ€™s concierge service. Absolutely pathetic. No regard for people coming from a tiring journey. 5 ladies on the concierge and horrible management of crowd. They donโ€™t even apologize or try to speed up the process. This has to be expressed so you can keep this point in mind before arriving. I will definitely add another review after my stay is complete here.

  • 2/5 Thalia D. 1 year ago on Google
It would be great if there was either a security guard, a receptionist, or a scan to enter at night. None of those exist, anyone can walk into the lobby and follow you to your room and I do not feel safe entering this hotel in the evenings. I travel non stop for work and this is one of the very first times I experience this. Especially during a VERY busy period in the city like Amsterdam Dance Event. Rooms are small and more in line with a 3 star. Needs better sound proofing for the doors. The 2 stars are for the location.
