This was my second time to stay at the hotel but definitely will be the last time. I’m so disappointed and wished that picked another hotel. The room is so small even though I booked at the largest room, as claimed. Yet so tiny. The AC doesn’t word!!!! It’s mid August for god’s sake can’t you already fix it!!!!! Talked to the staff about the issue with the AC didn’t do anything about it and apologized for being fully booked otherwise would transfer us to another room but guess what!! I checked the website they have many available rooms. How rude!! After we checked out I was surprised that extra charges were taken from our credit!!!! they emailed a receipt of beverages that we DID NOT take from the mini bar. We didn’t even use the fridge at all to even accuse us of stealing. The towels are DIRTY!! red stains, black stains name any color you’d definitely find it in their towels. Well, if you like being fooled and your money get stolen and staying at dirty hotels then sir Adam would be perfect for you 👌🏼

Stayed five nights with my SO. Location is great. We found the ferry service to be really good. It takes you straight to the central station in five minutes where most of the bigger atractions can be reached by walking. The rooms are small but functional. We really enjoyed the vinyl player and used it almost every day. The room was kinda dusty when we arrived and we noticed some spots that had not been cleaned for a long time. We informed the staff about this, but did not see an improvement during our stay. The reasons for the two stars is that the hotel was not able to provide clean towels. Almost everyday we got towels with either brown or red stains on them. We called and got new ones delivered to our room, but some times we had to call twice because the new ones we got were also stained. A hotel in this price class should be able to deliver clean towels. I have never had this problem before with any other hotel.

Hotel was nothing but positive. Perfect location. I arrived by train and in 10 min I was at the hotel. The staff were friendly and the check-in went smooth. Loved the music vibe in the room and elevators. The room was also very clean. Breakfast was great. And last but not least, the 24/7 gym.

Sir Adam prides itself on being in the cool, hip, "Brooklyn" of Amsterdam. Although a ferry goes every few minutes from the mainland to the hotel it is absolutely NOT a convenient or easy hotel to stay at. The ferry does NOT let you off in the heart of Amsterdam and the bike traffic at the port is not easy to negotiate. The hotel could not care less about your Marriott status. "We are not a real Marriott." Too bad the website didn't tell us that. My lifetime Titanium elite meant nothing and now I am even fighting for the points??? The desk is run by folks that do not really know the city so don't expect any kind of concierge knowledge. Rooms are fine, pillows need help, feels like a 1980's left over vibe. The manager was kind and knew his stuff but he can't be everywhere. We loved Amsterdam but would never stay here again. Sorry to say, I do not like to write negative things but want to help others in this case.

Hotel is quite nice. Located on the "quiet" side of Amsterdam, but a quick 5 minute ferry ride to the central bustling part. Restaurant "The butcher social club" is connected to the hotel. Ok burgers and cool vibe, but is dead after 21:00. The hotel gym is one of the better ones I've been to. My issue was with the service. I was in my room, using the bathroom and I had my do not disturb sign attached to the exterior door. The housekeeper knocked on my door, I said I was in the bathroom and not to come in. She still came into my room nevertheless, putting me in a compromised situation. I asked her to leave immediately and she wouldn't. I'm a big guy and can defend myself but felt very vulnerable in this situation. Imagine if the roles were reversed. I can say the staff does not respect your privacy and you can be put into an unsafe situation. There is no way to lock the door from the inside.

We stayed in our own city in a few hotels in Amsterdam and we liked both Sirs the most. Sir Adam is located in a very cool neighbourhood. It is only a ferry ride away from Central Station. Ideally connected to metro, tram, bus and train. The neighbourhood itself is upcoming and amazing to discover. The staff was amazing, they really go the extra mile for you. The room was spacious, super clean and very nicely decorated. Would definitely recommend!!

The stay in this hotel was amazing! The room was very clean, and I loved the city view of Amsterdam. The bathroom was great, a nice big shower head. And perhaps the best of all were the surprising elevators 🎶

Recently we had booked for a night at Sir Adam Hotel and we are completely satisfied with our stay. I was pleasantly surprised that the staff had arranged something nice and thoughtful for my birthday. The team is very kind and helpful and we have been assisted tremendously for the entirety of our stay. (We also thought the record player in our room was a nice touch.) The two of us would recommend anyone to stay at Sir Adam Hotel, who enjoy music, an artistic aesthetic and an exceptional team of hosts. We are grateful for the experience you’ve provided us with. Kind regards :)

Adored this boutique hotel. Gorgeous room with everything you need. Spent our wedding anniversary here and had the best time. Loved that you can play records in the room. Also love the disco and karaoke lifts. Staff were lovely. The Butchers club was great for evening drinks and food. Also the bar upstairs is amazing for sunset drinks. Definitely will be back

I visit Amsterdam at least one time a year and have stayed at various hotels. The hotel is located in a very quiet area which is a big plus. You take the free ferry that goes very frequently and arrive at a 2 minute walk from the hotel. Check-in is very very friendly and professional. I booked a Sir Corner and personally found the room not very spacious. Other hotels at that price range have larger rooms. The room itself is very comfortable, with a very good mattress and bedding. I’m glad I had a pleasant discount before booking the room. Cleaning had a few flaws, one the one hand it looked magnificent, but dirty glasses weren’t replaced and some places weren’t cleaned, but that are small details. I needed a bit of help because my roommate (known as my mother) was snoring like a herd of mating tortoises and they were very quick to help with some earbuds. The vibe of the hotel is lovely. The elevators are a gem. Breakfast and drinks are recommended.

One of the BEST hotels I’ve ever been to. It’s bold, edgy and so so cool. Loved the turntable in the room. Beautiful view. I was hesitant to book in the first place since it’s across the river but the ferry port is so close and there are lots of ferries departing every 5 minutes. Customer service was great too!

Very great value for money and amazing views and location. The room is beautifully decorated. However, the room is quite warm in summer and they always forget to make up my room in the morning. I’d definitely come back, but I’ll probably remind them to clean the room this time around.

So the reason I’m giving three stars and not less is because the staff here is totally amazing. They are the best part of the hotel. The second best part is the design and decor. It’s very fun and modern. However we had a major issue with the air conditioning not working. Our room was too hot to sleep in; and they even switched us to another room which was also too hot. I am not sure if this is a common problem or if we just had a bad experience. Our Marriott ambassador moved us to the nearby Renaissance, and they treated us very well - and their AC worked much better. People should also be aware that the rooms are cool and functional but small.

Really great guest service from the two guys at the front desk when I had an issue with my reservation. They were super busy when the issue came up but they still handled everything really quickly for me! Didn’t actually get to stay in the room as they had to put me up in their other property, but can say that the location of Sir Adam is great; right across the river by ferry from Centraal in a lively area. Fun restaurant downstairs. Looking forward to coming back!

Super friendly stuff, beautiful room (get the corner room with city view if you can). Cool location too, close to the central station.

Spend the night in their deluxe room, the view was on point. The reception team was super welcoming and helpful. They offer bike services as well, which we loved. The only downside is the not-so-good breakfast for the price/quality ratio. However I appreciated the fresh juices.

I won't bore you with the details, all I have to say is I absolutely loved this hotel and every single detail about it. I was skeptical about the location (having to take a ferry in and out of the city) but it turned out to be the best option for my needs. The room decor is artsy, unique and spotless clean. The food at the The Butcher was 5/5! Great vibes overall and will stay again either on biz or leasure.

The location of this property is great. From Centraal Station it is a quick ride on the F3 ferry across the river IJ to the hotel. There are ferries every ten minutes and the crossing takes an additional ten minutes. The hotel is steps away from the ferry station. The rooms are incredibly small. The style is industrial chic. The ceilings and most of the walls are bare concrete. There is no closet, only a hanging rack. There is very limited storage for clothing. The bathroom sink is located in the bedroom. The staff was pleasant but the service was not consistent. A request to empty the fridge of the room-service items was forgotten, an invitation to the Forbidden Garden roof deck to watch fireworks on New Year's Eve was made in error, the night staff had no idea why such an invitation was made, the roof deck was closed. I, personally, did not appreciate the industrial chic design of my very small room. It felt cold and claustrophobic to me. The location, on the other hand, was perfect.

Love the decor, very current. Each room has a record player! Very secure hotel, your room key is used to access the elevators, and you can only access your floor. Our room was quite small, hard for two people to move around at the same time while getting ready. Enjoyed our brief stay. After arriving at Amsterdam Centraal, you take a free ferry to the hotel.

  • 5/5 Sarah J. 4 months ago on Google
Awesome hotel. I had never been to this neighborhood before but I’m so glad I booked here for part of my trip. Super easy to take the free ferry to Central. Much quieter part of town compared to Central. Hotel was so fun, modern, with really high end finishes in the room like soft sheets, great mattress, and toiletries that smell amazing. Service was super friendly. Can’t wait to come back!

Unless you have a valid reason for being on this side of town, I strongly recommend you consider alternatives to this hotel, it is a warn out gimmick, an amusement park but I’m not amused. Room: Corner City View. Small for two with luggage for 14 days travel. View good. Service (Butcher): Young staff trying to apply what appears to be ever changing “rules” on what you can eat and where you can sit. There is a clear prioritization of outside paying customers versus hotel guests. What is advertised on the site is not delivered at the property, the food quality is poor for breakfast. Told repeatedly by the staff that they are short staffed. It looks clear to me that the strategy is to over sell, under deliver and guide the staff to simply apologize for the poor service quality! Oh, should go without saying stay clear of the laundry!!!

Sir Adam is a really funky hotel in a fantastic location. I actually prefer staying north of the river because the ferry is so convenient! The service was EXCELLENT. They graciously accommodated all of our requests in a timely fashion. The views from our corner room were STUNNING. My only gripe with the rooms is they are small and our particular room had no counter space for setting makeup and toiletries. If you are looking for a modern, quirky rock vibe with great views, this is definitely the place.

We stayed at the Sir Adam during the Autumn Break and to have a mother-daughter getaway. My daughter enjoyed the elevators :-) specifically the one with the Disco theme! The Front Desk always greeted us with a smile and answered all my questions. They were helpful. Our room was comfortable and when we needed more towels, they were delivered within 10 min. Location was super easy from Amsterdam Centraal station and it was great to be able to access the Lookout easily and multiple times as we were guests at the hotel. Thank you! Everything was great!

Choosing this hotel was half of this trip's success. What a fantastic concept! And so many things to do including fun elevators, the highest swing in Europe and the VR experience. Perfectly located to easily commute to the city centre with the free ferry, adding fun to the experience. Well done everyone!

This hotel is one of my favorites. The location is very convenient to Amsterdam and Amsterdam Central, especially with the free boat taxi that runs frequently. The actual hotel is trendy and a lively atmosphere, while also providing top notch service, particularly the front desk. Thank you to the front desk agent for the multiple sushi recommendations! Room sizes are typical for what to expect of a hotel room in Amsterdam, but they are very well cleaned and nice. The shower was amazing as well. Overall, this is a great hotel and worth the pricetag

My stay at Sir Adam was truly fantastic. The modern and stylish decor, impeccable cleanliness, and attentive staff exceeded my expectations. The blend of luxury and functionality in the rooms made for a comfortable experience. The team's professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile were remarkable. With top-notch amenities and delightful dining options, Sir Adam provides a memorable and enjoyable stay. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking sophistication and exceptional service.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Sir Adam Hotel in Amsterdam for the second time, and I must say, it just keeps getting better! This hotel is a gem in the heart of the city, boasting a perfect location that makes it a breeze to explore the vibrant center of Amsterdam. The rooms at Sir Adam are nothing short of extraordinary. Each one is uniquely designed, offering a special and unforgettable experience. During this visit, I had the privilege of staying in the suite with a view that took my breath away. The panoramic vista of the city was absolutely mesmerizing, especially during sunrise and sunset. It's safe to say that I've never had a hotel room with such an awe-inspiring view. What truly sets Sir Adam apart, however, is their impeccable service. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and willing to go the extra mile to make your stay exceptional. I'd like to give a special thanks to Aurelia and Tom, who went above and beyond to ensure I had a wonderful stay. Their warmth and hospitality were truly appreciated. In summary, the Sir Adam Hotel is the epitome of a top-tier hotel experience. The central location, unique rooms, stunning views, and outstanding service make it a must-visit destination in Amsterdam. I can't wait for my third visit!

Stayed here in September and had a great time. Room was funky and very clean. The record player was super fun and we used it a few times. Room was quiet which was also a plus. I had no issues with the towels that others mentioned. Hotel is also easy to access from the train station by the ferry!

  • 5/5 Alice N. 2 years ago on Google
Wonderful hotel, super stylish and incredible view of the Amsterdam harbour. Love the rock and roll theme and a record player in the room which was an excellent addition. The ferry from central station runs 24/7 and every 5 minutes so no problem getting here at all. We will definitely stay here in future trips.

I loved this hotel! The design and interior, the staff and mostly the location. They also did above and beyond when they packed us breakfast for a very early flight and it was really good :) Note- rooms are pretty small and no place for a luggage holder. Regardless we enjoyed our time in Amsterdam a lot mostly because we stayed in Sir Adam.

We had initially booked a stay at another hotel but we're transferred here (sister hotel) due to our original hotel being over booked. The staff were very friendly and accommodating on arrival. The rooms are a little small but are modern and offer fantastic views of the river/city. The only real issue we had was that the AC control panel is hidden down the side of the closet and has no control screen so you don't know what temperature you're setting. Breakfast is delicious! Would recommend the smoked salmon and poached eggs on sourdough. Probably best to have breakfast early as it gets quite busy after 9:30ish. Location feels a little out of the way but there is a 24hr free ferry service across the river. To be honest we probably only felt this way as our original booking was more central.

We stayed at sir adam for 1 night and we overwhelmed when entering the building by so many first impressions. The room was magnificent and the service extra ordinary. In only 10 minutes, you are from the trainstation with a boat ride (which is available 24/7) to the entrance of the hotel. You will definitely see us back here!

This hotel is amazing, overlooking the IJ River. We had a corner room, which was thoughtfully decorated in a hip & modern style, without cluttering the space. Our 2 elementary school daughters found the best surprise in their room. The staff went far and beyond by folding a whole zoo of animal towels, which shows their level of hospitality and caring. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Aesthetically beautiful design hotel Creative vibes with karaoke in the elevators and record players in the rooms. Staff were generally very friendly. Breakfast is in the restaurant downstairs (not complimentary for Marriott elite members). Location is handy, close to the North ferry port, so easy to get into central. Small but decent gym as well

Favorite hotel in this chain. Everything here attracts me: location, price, quality of service. The view from any window is amazing, from some rooms you can even see the the river in the distance. The only thing is that in order to see the beauty of the city, you must ask for a room above the 12th-13th floor when booking. Below - is not the same, in the field of view will remain at home. The hotel maintains perfect cleanliness in the rooms and corridors - when I come to a conference, I only stay here and have never seen a speck of dust. Bed linen and towels are always clean and well ironed. In the winter season, sir adam hotel is very warm, which is important in the presence of severe frosts. There are also many places to eat - both in the hotel itself and nearby. Personally, I prefer the Japanese bar-restaurant on the ground floor.

A very clean and comfortable hotel. We already knew what the hotel was like from Channel 4’s Travel Man series. The room was comfortable and the bathroom amazing with the rain shower. The Wi-Fi was strong and fast throughout the building which is another plus. The bed was comfortable and the black-out blinds guarantee a good nights sleep. The room cleaning was exemplary. We booked a city view. Next time we stay we will be asking for the view over towards the train station as this would be really special. The ferry is quick and convenient and really easy to get to.

These people are amazing! The hotel is wonderful. It is the best breakfast that I’ve ever had at a hotel and the staff are SO NICE. I was sitting in the lobby waiting to leave and they offered me coffee and food because I didn’t have a chance to enjoy the full breakfast as I was in a hurry to get to the airport. You guys are amazing and I look forward to staying here again if I return to beautiful Amsterdam!

Very nice design hotel and extremely friendly staffs. Stayed here for 4 nights in Amsterdam with Sir Adam. The room is very well designed and decorated, even though it is a bit small. There are nothing much around the hotel but the free ferry brings you to the centre in 5 mins.

information office in the city was closed but we received great information from the hosts at the desk of the hotel. Very friendly staff, gym is open 24/7. Great and comfortable rooms. City center is easy reachable via a free ferry (every 4 minutes and 24/7).

Top service and welcoming rooms! I have only great things to say about my experience at the hotel. The staff were so attentive and happy, and the rooms were cool. Even tho I traveled for business and this hotel has a more “chill and fun” vibe, it got me relaxed and happy to perform! - a little confused on where to go to get checked in..

I enjoyed my stay at Sir Adam Hotel. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Clean hotel. Check-in was a breeze. The food was really good – especially room service. I’d definitely recommend staying here for a fun, enjoyable stay. Also, the ferry ride is a major plus.

Staying at this hotel third time was again an enchanting experience from start to finish, offering a dynamic and youthful atmosphere with an unbelievable style and modern design. The exterior design of the hotel welcomes you with its vibrant energy. Modern architecture and lively colors reflect the hotel's character. Every detail seems carefully chosen to emphasize a dynamic and youthful ambiance. While my overall experience at SIR ADAM was positive, I must address a significant concern: the lack of ventilation in the rooms. Unfortunately, the windows in the rooms are non-operable, leaving guests with only the option of using the air conditioning for ventilation. However, relying solely on the AC doesn't provide a satisfactory long-term solution.
