I have spent lots time searching for hotels and booked this hotel couple weeks ago. I have messaged this hotel right away with some of my staying questions. Finally one week before arrival day, this hotel chain messaged me and telling me that NH Museum Quarter was closed due to Covid-19 and they were trying to transfer me to their other hotels that had bad reviews of 7 stars and smaller room, and in different area. I totally understand the closing due to Covid-19, however, this hotel was everywhere on the internet taking reservation at time they told me it was closed. It is still "live" as I am writing this review, so it seems to me it has never been closed. If it is really closed, this hotel listing should have not be available. I have never gotten a answer for this. Don't waste your time with this hotel chain, you might end up with different hotels, not the one you booked, and the worse part is that they won't tell you until you messaged them. I am glad I did not get this surprise at door.

My current stay at the NH Museum Quarter has been far from ideal, despite paying premium rates in high season for a purported 4-star hotel, as it fails to even meet basic expectations like Room Cleaning.ย  Despite being charged for housekeeping as part of the per-night room rate, this hotel appears to neglect these services. As a frequent traveller, I've stayed in a few hundred hotels, with 2023 alone encompassing over 50 hotels in more than 20 countries. What transpired today is unprecedented, even in hotels with much lower ratings. I left my room around 3 pm, placing the "clean my room" sign on the door. Typically, I inform the reception before leaving to facilitate room cleaning since they know the room is unoccupied. In my haste, I forgot to do so but remembered a few minutes later. I promptly called the reception (refer to the attached call log screenshot), and they assured me that the room would be cleaned. To my surprise, upon returning at 10:30 pm, a full 7 hours later, I discovered the "clean my room" sign untouched, and the room remained uncleaned (refer to the attached photos). Despite informing the reception, the apology I received was lacklustre, accompanied by a subtle message of "accept it" and "deal with it," with no visible effort to rectify the situation. There is no drainage on the bathroom floor, and thanks to this, the bathroom will remain perpetually wet until housekeeping comes and wipes it. While I acknowledge that such things can happen, the callousness displayed in handling such situations at a hotel which is charging so much (approximately 160-200 Euros per day), is unacceptable. It's worth mentioning here that NH Museum Quarter is one of those opportunistic hotels that seeks to capitalize on the most trivial matters. For instance, borrowing a hotel umbrella for the ever frequent Amsterdam rains costs 3 eurosโ€”a practice unheard of in other hotel brands. Since they claim to be a "4-star establishment" and charge premium rates, it's imperative that there is some accountability here. Guests deserve better quality of service. My hope is that this review serves as a wake-up call for improvement and warns any potential travellers about what they are paying for.

Nice and spacious rooms. The staff is really helpful and friendly. Will highly recommend staying here. Hotel location is really nice with major attractions just a short walk away. Plenty food and drink options nearby.

Hotel is clean, convenient and nice! Great location in the city and on the outskirts. Very close to many shops and restaurants, Heineken experience was about an 11 minute walk from the hotel. 1. Checkin was easy, young lady Martha was nice and got through quickly. One little note she missed was our request for two twin beds in our two rooms. (I was travelling with 3 other people). Got up to the room and had to come back down to get it sorted but was done within minutes. Other than that room was nice, spacious and had all the necessary toiletries. 2. Breakfast was nice, with the exception of the older Philippino lady. Not sure if her personality was just curt but she was rude and does not know how to be in customer service. I understand that maybe something happened one day and she didnโ€™t want to be there but for two days in a row? Everyone is going through something, you should be courteous and mindful of this, your attitude and actions affect others. 3. Overall, the experience at the hotel was good. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed 4 nights in March. All you'd expect from a city 4* - quality service, clean rooms, relaxing lounge/lobby area with a bar. On arrival the receptionist noticed it was my birthday later in the week, that day when we came back to our room there was a note from the manager, some chocolates and a voucher for 2 drinks at the bar. Classy touch! Location wise, you might feel a little bit out of the centre of things if you don't like walking (you're a good 25 mins away from the central districts) but it was fine for us. If you enjoy food I'd recommend skipping breakfast at the hotel and crossing the canal into De Pijp - there's loads of little independents and we'd recommend Rainbowls the most. Last mention is for the room. We booked a 'superior room with a view' and what a view it was. On the 7th floor looking east through floor to ceiling windows really gave it a penthouse feel.

I am in a wheelchair. I called directly the hotel to book a wheelchair accessible room. When I arrived , the elevator was not working well and the only room accessible was occupied!!!! So I had to manage in a very small bathroom with a bath and a toilet without bars. The next day, I got the room for disabled people. Yet I was very desapointed. The bathroom was large enough but the way the accessibility has been implemented is really not in line with standards and not acceptable for a 4 stars hotel. No bar on the wall near the toilet. If you need more detail. Just contact me. The other negative point is the lack of trading of the staff. The positive points are that the hotel is well located and very quiet.

This hotel has some negative operational issues management needs to overcome. However, with that being said, the staff does an outstanding job to make your stay very worthwhile. Lourdes and Giada are to be highly commended for their professional and customer service-oriented manner. I have never been more impressed! They were faced with multiple issues outside of their control and yet remained focused on customer satisfaction as their top priority. The booking reservation was completely incorrect, even though it was the hotel's own reservation team who assisted us. We were faced with two twin beds, when we booked a queen, a standard room when we booked a superior room, changing rooms 2 times/3 days in the process. Had it not been for this great front desk team, I would have rated this hotel much lower, but when you have hotel employees who go above and beyond to make things right, you don't find that everywhere. Our room was clean, comfortable and a nice finish to a rough start. To the ladies in the breakfast area, job well done! Each day they made sure everything was in order and presented nicely. Lastly, NH Hotels, you must do a better job with your reservation team so they do not misrepresent what the customer is purchasing. Secondly, keep the public restrooms clean! They were not well-maintained (trash cans overflowing).

This hotel was absolutely perfect for our stay as a family of 3 traveling with my parents at Christmas! Located in a great area just a few min walk to the museums and an easy 20 min walk or 10 min bike ride to the center of old town. We had an issue when we arrived with the travel crib being broken, and the staff helped us find a temporary fix for the night and the next day they replaced it with a beautiful wooden crib. Rooms are large, and as we stayed on the top floor, we had gorgeous floor to ceiling windows with an amazing view of the city and sunrise. Also, the blackout curtains for night was perfect for our 2 year old to help him get a good night sleep. My only complaint is that the bar/restaurant was closed the whole weekend (only open during the week which seemed odd) which was a bummer being Christmas time and wanting to enjoy a nightcap in the cozy lobby. But overall very happy with the staff and the value and I would definitely stay here again!

This hotel is a great location! We originally thought we would be far out from all the action, but we were so so wrong! This hotel is in the perfect spot to hit all the hotspots. If you want to take the bus more into the downtown of Amsterdam you can, or you can just walk! Hotel is clean and quiet.

Very tired hotel! The advantages of this hotel include a good location and underground parking, but it does not belong to the hotel and the car must be small to enter the elevator. The receptionist with a Spanish accent was rude and not friendly during our check in. Although the room has a great view, all the furniture and the bathroom are very old. The breakfast leaves much to be desired. But the worst thing is when a cart with garbage and dirty dishes passes in front of you during your breakfast. The sport room is in a basement with no windows or air conditioning and is not suitable for floor exercises as you can hurt yourself there. There are no exercise mats also. But we must pay tribute for the most part the staff was polite and friendly.

Great! The staff are definitely the highlight of staying here. They are extremely friendly and helpful, they allowed us to check-in a few hours early. The breakfast here is amazing! Great options, tasty food. It's also pretty close to Jordaan, where a lot of great restaurants are. If you are a tourist this is a great spot to stay! One note. The wifi is terrible(2mbps down, 0.5mpbs up). They limit your speed to extremely slow unless you pay extra which is ridiculous.

Very, very nice breakfast. Nice large rooms with good view. Rooms could be more modern, but it's actually fine and it's very clean. Friendly, helpful and organised staff.

Really good service and very well located hotel, just 5 min walking distance to the Rijksmuseum. Good breakfast. Rooms are big but a little old fashioned. Bathroom with courtains in the shower.

The view from the room, to the canal, was incredible. Windows are wide, light is perfect. Quite, spacious place, an unforgettable experience.

Extremely close to the museums and many restaurants. The hotel staff are friendly and polite and answered any questions I had very quickly. The breakfast is good and offers a selection of hot and cold items, however they will also prepare other hot food like omlets based on your request. I enjoyed my stay here as the room was very comfortable and had everything I needed, as well as a nice view!

The location is great, rooms are not as big but manageable, kitchen/service is good but they were completely closed during the Christmas period and if guests didn't go out to restaurants to eat, then you were in hard luck. Poor management planning for the season. In general, good ๐Ÿ‘

The Hotel was exactly how it looked in the fotos! The hotel is very comfortable and looks beautyful! We had such a good view i was satisfied about the sunrise๐Ÿฅฐ The only thing that was kind of interesing is that the breakfast was special and smelled very different than other Hotels. The bacon did not smell like bacon, and pancakes smelled like banana bread, maby next time write how it tastes or someting๐Ÿค”

Loved staying here. It is within walking distance of all museums, and close to many trams if you need. The room is comfortable, spacious, and clean. They provide everything you will need whether you are visiting for business or pleasure. Highly suggest staying here.

Great customer service by the front desk team especially extra kudos to Sergio, Manuel and Jeffery. You guys made our stay enjoyable and relaxing. You were professional, helpful and courteous. As a bonus, the hotel has a self-serve laundry facility for no fee.

I wish I read the reviews before I booked. I was shocked this was considered a 4 star hotel. The rooms are extremely dated, the curtains and carpet look 50 years old. My carpet had a lot of stains and just needs to be replaced/removed throughout. Also had a booking issue and no longer needed the final night but the hotel refused to reverse the charge and instead charged me for an extra night stay. I would highly recommend staying elsewhere if you can.

A great twin aspect room with TWO chairs and plenty of space. Staff are very helpful and breakfasts are great. They have a great idea that for each day you forgo housekeeping you get two free drinks at the bar. A very enjoyable week.

I had a delightful stay at NH Museum Quarter. The location was fantastic, with easy access to the city's renowned museums and attractions. The staff was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure my comfort throughout my stay. The modern and well-appointed room added to the overall positive experience. I highly recommend NH Museum Quarter for a memorable and enjoyable stay in Amsterdam.

I know this is an old hotel (old building) but the rooms should be tidied up a bit (new curtains, better lightning, etc). This is why I'm not rating it a any higher. I also had to change rooms as my room had this weird clicking sound every could of minutes which didn't allow me to sleep the first night). Location is quite good, however closest metro is about 600 meters. Worth considering that

It was the 2nd time at this hotel. The rooms are very clean with the view of the cannal, and very quiet location with walking distance to the museums and restaurants. Our room's safe wasn't working when we got the room and the staff attended and fixed it in less than 30 minutes. Well done!

Booked the Hotel but after reading the last review I called the hotel up to double check if they are really open. The receptionist told me that they are โ€œvirtuallyโ€ open but physically closed. Guest booking this NH would be transferred to another NH just 1,7 km (approx 1 mile) away from the Museums Quarter. Seriously โ€ฆ. Unbelievable !!!

A very nice hotel in the center of Amsterdam. Lovely suites on the upper two floors. The dinner and breakfast were superb and tasted even better while the city's restaurants are all closed due to Covid-19. The staff was very nice and helpful. Great location and easy to get around. Close to so many fun things to do. Hotel staff are attentive. Like the ice machine on each floor, so you do not have to venture to the bar. It overlooks the canal and fun to watch the boats go by. Would recommend!

Hotel was nice. Location is great - close to subway, tram and bus stops. Within walking distance to the Museumplein. There is a small supermarket nearby and many different restaurants. The only thing that can be improved is the room interior. We got the premium room and everything was a little dated. Minifridge had was working well but had some broken parts on the exterior. Other than that the hotel is great value for the price :)

The best hotel experience I have had in Europe. The room was clean and spacious. The staff was helpful. The cost is fair. They had a proper shower that didn't leave water all over the floor like with so many other hotels in Europe. My friend's room was just as nice with a great view. Highly recommend!
