I stayed at the a Hotel V Nesplein on Thursday 13th July. Having stayed at the same hotel for the past 4 work trips I have made to Amsterdam, I had no hesitation to book my stay at this hotel again and up until now, I would have recommended it to many others. NOT ANY MORE!!! I have had one of the most awful and horrendous evenings possible. Do not stay in this hotel! Whilst in the hotel restaurant and bar during the evening, I had my room broken into. When I say broken into, I do not mean physically forced entry into but someone had key card in which to access the floor I was staying on and which enabled them to gain entry to my room. My laptop and charger were both stolen, however, it wasn't even this shocking and unfortunate event which was most disturbing, it was what followed from the hotel that was unbelievable and completely unacceptable. On discovery on the items being stolen from my room, I immediately went down to the Reception desk. In an incredibly rude, unfriendly and unhelpful manner, I was told by the night manager the following: - They couldn’t access CCTV before 10.30pm to review what had happened - They refused to call/notify the police - Would not move me to a different room, telling me the hotel was full to the max yet I could still go online and book a room - Next day, zero empathy from the staff on what happened nor did they even know about it - No sign of the manger nor would the staff let me speak to him as I had to leave to catch a flight. - No offer of a refund to my dinner or overnight stay. I am so angry and disappointed with the hotel's appalling attitude and blatant disregard for their patrons. The staff's shocking attitude and their absolute lack of support is the worst treatment I have received within the hospitality industry; I travel a lot for business and I have never experienced anything like this before. In addition to this awful experience, I noticed that the restaurant and bar service has also slipped since my last visit. The food was of a shockingly poor quality, it was expensive but barely edible! Stay at your own risk!

We stayed here for 3 nights and we had a fantastic time. The location is great, close to everything you want in any direction. The rooms are very spacious, modern and super comfortable with everything you need. Most importantly, the service was superb. We really felt they cared and they went above and beyond what was expected. It was my boyfriend’s birthday and they left balloons and a small bottle of sparkling wine in the room with a note when we were out. The next day we got engaged and they did exactly the same again. Those small details mean a lot. Thank you so much. We already know where we will stay again next time we visit.

Disappointing experience. Spent three nights at the hotel. Two of them with out air conditioning in the midst of a heat wave with no possibility of opening windows as the surrounding streets are quite noisy. I had to repeatedly notify the hotel staff and all they were able to respond was that "it should be working". Nothing was done or fixed in over 48 hours. Quite disappointing for a hotel in this price range.

I’ve been to Amsterdam several times. Last time I stayed at a 5 star hotel bc it was my birthday. This time it wasn’t so I chose this 4* hotel. Hotel V has service every bit as excellent as the 5* hotel;) Reception was extraordinarily friendly & helpful. Lisa at night spent probably 1/2 an hour calling a dozen restaurants to find me a reservation at a 2* Michelin restaurant, while working alone. I noticed she even went all the way upstairs to my floor to help open doors for a new guest with a baby carriage. She didn’t have to do that, & I’m sure the guest didn’t ask—but she did, nevertheless! Then the daytime front desk staff Sarah & Felice spent another 1/2 hour for me securing a reservation at a 1* Michelin restaurant with traditional Dutch food. Again, with a perfect attitude—like they truly enjoy helping the guests. Like professional concierges😃 The room was nice & cozy. Stylish & comfortable, although a bit small. Bed was comfortable, & they accommodated my request for a quiet room, away from the elevators The lobby bar is beautiful, as is their restaurant & sitting areas for drinks. You know this to be true, because locals come in to dine & for drinks, not just hotel guests (I always look for this sign) In summary, as a very critical eye surgeon who’s somewhat famous for being a perfectionist, & who therefore rarely is totally satisfied or dispenses compliments, I was totally satisfied with my stay—which is saying a lot😛👍

Highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Amsterdam. Rooms/bathrooms were very spacious, clean & comfortable. Also the location in central Amsterdam makes virtually any POI in the city a 25 min walk max. The staff was very accommodating and friendly as well. I would absolutely stay here on another visit to the city.

AMAZING LITTLE HOTEL!!! The service here was absolutely outstanding. The staff were so polite and friendly, the rooms were immaculate and so lovely, the food in the lobby restaurant was gorgeous. And none of it felt that expensive given the quality you get here, its AMAZING value and an incredible place to stay. Please treat yourself and visit this charming and conveniently located hotel, it was just perfect for me and my partner when we visted. Thank you so much HOTEL V!!!

Brilliant location, just a 2 minute walk to the square. They offer champagne on arrival and are very polite staff. Very clean rooms with huge beds and very nice quality bedding. They also supply slippers and a towel dressing gown for your stay. Very nice hotel.

Amazing hotel, really good rooms and great location. The staff were really nice and friendly with us too. The ambiance of the hotel was overall a really good experience, they had a great restaurant there available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A well stocked minibar and fridge were in the rooms. Room service was also prompt and tasty. We did have a little issue with an extra charge (under €5) from the mini bar which was promptly sorted.

Paid in advance for 3 nights. Diagnosed with COVID right before my arrival. Reached out to them to postpone and freeze my booking and said I would rebook right after. They refused to refund or even discuss. Asked them if they wanted me to come with COVID and risk getting everyone in the hotel sick. They didn’t care and still asked if I was coming. I have all the emails to back this up. STAY AWAY.

Lovely hotel in a superb location! The service was really good, the whole hotel is very nicely designed, rooms are spacious and the location is amazing, right in the city center, but in a quiet alley. Note the AC is centrally controlled, which sometimes (in hot days) might not be enough, but they provide a nice fan.

e enjoyed a pleasant 6-night stay. The a la carte breakfast was excellent, and we found that booking the stay without including breakfast in the room rate was a more cost-effective option. However, the dinner experience at the hotel restaurant fell short of our expectations. Fortunately, there are numerous good restaurants in the surrounding area.

What's with the no-laptop-policy after 18? Such a pity. A nice place, friendly staff but was kicked out the second opened my laptop, god forbid Not the place for businessmen nor entrepreneurs unfortunately

The ambiance was great - loved the library area for an after brunch cocktail. The only thing that could have improved the experience would have been a bit louder music.

Unfortunately nothing was like expected. We booked a room online after check all the pictures of this type of room. When we arrived at the hotel unfortunately, they offered us something totally different. This lower category room was not what we paid for and their answer was that it is a last minute booking , this is what we have available. Obviously they overbook the type or rooms they have to fill the one night gaps in their Rooming plan and give you something different. Although the worst thing was not the above ( because ok mistakes or bad reservation techniques could happen), the worst thing was their staff’s attitude. I had never faced such a snob , sarcastic and rude attitude in my travels around the world. The Front Desk was angry with us because we were asking for what we paid for , he was laughing and didn’t even give us a chance to listen our problem and disappointment and maybe suggest a solution to make our stay a bit better. Unacceptable and unprofessional way to treat a hotel guest. He only cared to charge you and then kick you out. he looked so annoyed when I compared and contrast the online photos with the real photos of the room and we both understood that I am right. When we asked to talk to a reservation manager or a hotel manager or a supervisor the answer was that nobody is there ,everyone is sick or days off even the next days. In a nice city like Amsterdam , with so many nice hotels, and so friendly and kind people it is so pity to be the bad exception like this small property ( It is not a 4* hotel obviously as wrong advertised). Their answer below probably will be that they didn’t have availability for other rooms and that they tried to explain and help us. This is definitely a big lie because they did had other room available after we checked in and of course they never helped us. They told us that if we write online what happened they will dispute our words. They should teach their team what is hospitality and customer service because accounting is not enough to work in Hotels and Accommodation. !!

Attention!!! Customer Deception!!. We booked a room we found available online, but upon arriving at the hotel, they provided a lower category and quality room. No willingness to help the customer. the receptionist was rude and had a sarcastic attitude, stating that this is what happens when you book last minute—unacceptable customer service. UNACCEPTABLE. Protect yourself, keep your money, and go to a real hotel. This is not a 4-star hotel, and they certainly don't understand customer service; they are totally unprofessional. I understand that sometimes mistakes can happen but the worst thing is the staff, their snob attitude and their mentality which is only to take your money. Stay away. ( the Hotel probably will answer that they didn’t have other rooms available to suggest, but this is not the thing the thing is that they did not anything to listen to our problem and give us a solution or a help and that the sell online rooms that they don’t have available)

The experience is good near Dam, but the adjustment problem is very bad. I am currently in the hotel and I suffer from the heat.

One of the best boutique hotels we've stayed in in recent memory Access: if you're coming by car you might need to get dropped off at Rokin 65 where you can walk 30 seconds to get onto Nes street and the hotel Location: 2 minutes from Dam square and from the metro and tram stations. Tucked away on the quaint street of Nes, but only a few meters from the main road of Rokin. Can't ask for a better location (unless you want views of the canal) Room: We paid a bit extra for the superior room which had lots of floor space and was spacious all around. We also had 3 windows that could be opened sideways and downwards. Room looks clean although the black toilet seats are a bit chipped. Service: all staff were extremely polite and helpful ever since email exchanges and all the way till we've checked out with luggage stored at the reception. Thank you to the gentleman at reception on noon of Nov 14! He offered bottles of water to take away for our trip to the station: costs nothing to the hotel, but the small gesture made the whole experience that much more pleasant Other things to note: - heating is somewhat centralised but you can control heaters in the bathroom and room but it can get quite dry over the night. - housekeeping can run quite late and they somehow missed our room on our third night so we asked only for a change of towels and bin linings. Maybe it'd be better if the "dnd" and "please my room" (yes it's missing a "make") signs are different in colours - bath supplies (shampoo conditioner etc) are all the same tube shape and cannot be reliably placed on the rack so it's a bit hard to use

This hotel deserves 4 stars but the service and food 5 stars! Room is very comfortable and bed is good! Room is little bit too cold but here is good blanket’s! This is very clean but 🧹 they cleaned our room quite late in afternoon! Dutch people are very tall but I am not 😝 so all I could see in the bathroom mirror was my forehead! Location was perfect 👍! the view from the room was an office building, but we didn't come to see that, so it didn't bother us.

We truly loved our stay at Hotel V. We even extended for an extra night as the hotel (and Amsterdam) were so fantastic. The hotel is very stylish, the room was huge and beautifully designed. The staff were all friendly. The location is perfect for exploring Amsterdam in different directions and despite being quite central it was very quiet. Would 100% recommend this hotel.

Can't say enough good things about the staff and the lovely hotel. Perfect location to all the action and nightlife. Walking distance to many restaurants and the famous red light district. We will be back, and we will stay here again without a doubt. Staff is as friendly and helpful as we have ever experienced, and we travel frequently. Wow, is all I can say about this hotel. Don't hesitate to book this hotel

Amazing hotel. I'd recommend to anyone and definitely stay again. The room was industrial-chic. Bathroom was spacious and clean. Incredibly comfortable - large comfortable bed, great amenities, super kind & helpful staff. Great location on a quiet street that's right in the mdidle of anywhere you'd like to walk. Perfection

Loved this hotel. Huge spacious room, powerful shower, excellent lighting and super cute Bluetooth speaker in the room. Resort level treatment and support in a hotel. The staff is SECOND TO NONE. They were so kind and helpful on so many occasions, and did everything they could to "go the extra mile". Would 10000% stay here again. Located easy (and safe) walking distance to Red Light District, Shopping, Eateries, Anne Frank's House, Canal Cruises, I am A'Dam, you name it. If you are agonizing over which hotel to pick (as we did) stop worrying and book this one.

Stayed here for 5 nights and we're really happy with the overall hotel and service. Location is central to everything and customer service is excellent. Reception were very obliging with all our requests, and very helpful in giving us an overview of Amsterdam. The room was beautiful, and the bed was amazing. By far the most comfortable of all the hotels we have stayed in! The housekeeping does run quite late, so be prepared for that. It did get a little stuffy in the room, but this was mitigated by the pedestal fan provided. Also the complementary coffee pods provided were outstanding.

I would just like to say a massive thank you to all the staff at Hotel V for making our anniversary very special. I'd informed them before arriving and they made the room extra special for our stay. The Hotel was amazing and the location was perfect for exploring the city. Massively recommended! Thanks again, Ryan & Danielle :)

The location of the hotel is superb, right at the heart of the city. The rooms are very spacious and have their own unique design. The service is friendly and efficient. The only downside was the breakfast in the hotel restaurant. There is no buffet but only a short menu of dishes. What I took was OK, but very small and left me hungry. Knowing that I'd not pay extra for the BF but find something better outside.

Rooms were great, bed was very comfortable and nice and big! It is pretty hilarious how your window faces directly into an office building but it didn't bother us!! Delicious coffee and great service, in a quiet location but close to red light district.

Very comfortable beds (plush, not firm at all) and everything was very clean. The decor is interesting; not terrible by any means, in fact I enjoyed it, it was just perhaps a little on the dark side, literally. The hallways are not well lit, so the combination of the dark blue (but very clean) carpet and the wallpaper reminded my son & I slightly of Tower of Terror at Disney, minus the scare factor! The same goes for our room - the lighting was less that ideal; spot lights on the ceiling and a few lamps without shades. Not a game changer by any means. And the room itself was great. We had a suite that was very spacious and comfortable. Also appreciated the security feature on each floor; there were locked doors to each hallway, so unless your room is on that floor, you can't access the hallway. We had little interaction with hotel staff other than Reception, and they were great; super helpful and friendly. We went out to eat so I can't comment on the restaurant. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great location, good amenities, friendly staff. The food is very good, both breakfast but also for dinner if you want to chill at the hotel instead of going out. I didn't like the industrial feel of the rooms, I wish they had better furniture. Overall a pleasant stay.
