Nice hotel, but don't think for a second they will make their loyalty members feel special. When asking at check-in about included breakfast (due to being a titanium member) they told me they would need to know up front if I wanted to have breakfast. At checkout I was told it wasn't included, and that the Marriott loyalty program didn't have any benefits at their hotel. Would have been honest of them to clarify this up front instead of when presenting the bill. As a result I won't be staying here anymore, and can highly recommend the Apollo Hotel that's part of Marriott as an alternative. Edit after reply: I did not sign anything except the regular non-smoking policy. I was not made aware of the fees for the breakfast in any way. This reply again proves how this hotel deals with customers.

    1. The bed sheet was torn 2. We stayed for 3 nights. The room was not cleaned on Day 2. When we asked for house keeping we were informed there is only 1 person available for house keeping and hence our room could not be cleaned 3. There is a nice restaurant on the ground floor which unfortunately turns into a night club at night. Entering the hotel at night is uncomfortable with bouncers at the entrance and loud music from the club. The hotel entrance is crowded with the club goers. 4. Our room was on the 3rd floor luckily so we didn't hear the club noise at night but I can't imagine the first floor rooms being comfortable and quiet at night 5. The front desk staff is polite and efficient 6. The location is good (near the museums) however it is right next to some red light windows even though the hotel is not in the red light district which was a bit weird. 7. The hotel has a Marriott affiliation of some sort but the service and overall quality is definitely not Marriott srandard

Room size is very disappointing, it looks in hotel's website larger than what it is. Two persons with two bags and we can hardly move around in the room. Also, the rooms are outdated. A positive side is the location of the hotel, it is very accessible and near everything.

Sir Albert Hotel in Amsterdam charmed me with its elegant blend of modern design and warm hospitality. My room was stylish and comfortable, with thoughtful amenities. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay, offering personalized recommendations. The location was perfect, nestled in a vibrant neighborhood with easy access to the city's sights. A delightful experience that made my visit extra special.

SIR Hotels do not disappoint and nor did Sir Albert. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by reception and swiftly checked-in. We arrived earlier than planned and the reception team were able to give us advice and recommendations for the local area whilst we waited for our room to be ready. Our room was warm, clean and cosy. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was warm and had a good pressure. Great shower facilities and soft bath towels! We did not dine in as we were visiting Amsterdam for a local event and Sir Albert provided the perfect base for us. Check-out was smooth and it was nice to relax by the fire in the lounge to read a book before leaving. Thank you and we will be back!

Absolutely loved our stay at Sir Albert in Amsterdam. It’s in an awesome, energetic neighborhood that reflects more of the authentic Amsterdam lifestyle we came to visit. Downtown is great but it can feel like the “tourist capital” and we don’t love that. Sir Albert is cozy and fun, great design, delicious restaurant downstairs and comfortable rooms. In the running for one the best showers I’ve experienced as well 🤪 We had one minor hiccup during our stay and the team at Sir Albert went above and beyond to make it right. This will always be a place we think about when we visit Amsterdam in the future. Thank you to everyone at Sir Albert for a great experience!

Great hotel. It’s really close (10 minute walk) to the Rijksmuseum, which was important to me. It’s also about a 5 min walk to the train station, which is easy to get to Central Station. Rooms are incredibly tiny and “bathrooms” are a sink in the main room and shower and toilet in their own rooms. Electric curtains to make it black out, which is awesome. Overall it’s super stylish and MOST important to me - it was quiet, clean and the climate control allowed it to be really nice and cold (here in summer). Elevator was large enough to accommodate luggage and the area was safe. It’s a great place to stay, really and I recommend it!

The best thing about this hotel is it’s location. But unfortunately, that was all. The room wasn’t clean, particularly the floors. We didn’t get housekeeping everyday. The phone didn’t work so we had to WhatsApp the front desk for anything. We called for towels and got different numbers of towels everyday. There was part of a rag on the pillow one day when the room was made up. The front desk was polite but requested service was slow. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Less than expected, indifferent service, and the "Sir Residence" not worth the price. Our family of three paid $$$$ for four nights in the Sir Residence "suite," 16-20 June 2022. First, the positives: the location was convenient and the shower was large with good water pressure. Next, the negatives: 1) The noise from the restaurant bar, with pounding bass until 1 a.m. for three nights in a row. On Monday night it was a bit quieter. 2) The dark black decor and lighting in the hallways, which conveniently helps hide the dirty carpets and scuffed paint. This place would not be good for anyone with vision impairment, the hallways are really quite dark. 3) The sagging mattress in the larger of the two bedrooms -- there was a perfectly body-shaped trough on the left half of the mattress. 4) From the website, the Sir Residence is made to look like a suite withe two bedrooms, including a couch. But it was just two separate hotel rooms joined by a private hallway, where all the doors swung closed and locked automatically unless you propped them open (we didn't find the doorstops until our third day). Where a couch would have been ideal was instead a huge bathtub right in the living/sleeping area. Extremely impractical, since the shower is already very nice (see the positives above). 5) The logged-in WiFi wasn't working (and no one seemed concerned about getting it fixed when we asked about the log-in problems), so they directed everyone to the "Day Use" unsecured network. Consequently my husband was unable to access his work email because it requires a secured network. 6) For the entire four nights of our stay, we made just one small request that was never honored and never followed up on. We asked for two flatter pillows (the beds had many pillows that were overstuffed but only one that was flat enough for sleeping with a healthy neck position). First, I filled out the online so-called "Personal Page" with our request, given that they supposedly have a "Pillow Menu" but never got any response. Then we asked at the front desk and were told that because the hotel was at 100% capacity they had no more pillows that night but that housekeeping would deliver some the next day after other guests had checked out. We never heard from them again. So much for any special service that might come with paying for 4 nights in their most expensive accommodations. If the price had been 30% less, we would say "you get what you pay for" and give the Sir Albert a higher rating. But when 4 nights cost more than one month's rent in many cities, you expect a bit more.

We had an incredible stay at the hotel. The location was perfect for sightseeing, we walked everywhere to all the many spots on our list. The rooms were well appointed and the staff very friendly and helpful. The young lady that checked us in, Nina(I think), was so gracious about a mix up on check in days i had caused. They were super accommodating and made us feel like valued guests. This hotel is a real through back to classic hospitality.

Spouse and I stayed here for few days the week of 2-19-24. Great front desk staff and were very accommodating. Didn’t try restaurant. Highly recommended and will stay again Pros: very close to several public transportation stops, great market and food options down the street, walking distance to Heineken and several museums.

Beautiful hotel, nice and comfortable rooms and at an excellent location. However the staff is not at all up to their task, I kindly asked for an upgrade for my elite status and I got a horrible standard room with two single beds. The person at the checkin was completely incompetent, but we got that sorted out. I tried to get room service and when dialing the service desk they simply kept in hanging up the phone over and over again. Should the general manager be able to recruit and train some professional and serve minded staff I would have given it 5 stars, but unfortunately the staff managed to completely destroy a perfect customer experience.

Our stay at Sir was absolutely fantastic, and it started with one of the warmest receptions I’ve ever experienced. After looking at the delux rooms online I made a special request in the online reservation, and they happily arranged for us to stay in that corner room. The bed was unbelievable, and my husband and I are opposites (in our firmness preference) and we both slept so well. We come to Amsterdam often and love this neighborhood, and now we have our “go-to” hotel when we visit. Absolutely wonderful experience- book here.

Sir Albert was highly rated on Expedia. It’s a lovely hotel. The rooms are quiet, the lobby is beautiful, the staff are all friendly and you are a 10-15 min walk to everything. The parking was quite inconvenient and I would have waited to rent a car had we known. A car is really more of an inconvenience in Amsterdam. It’s better to walk or grab a bike. We are happy with our stay.

We had an amazing stay at the Sir Albert. Great location near terrific restaurants and pubs and close by to the Metro. Loved hanging in the Study with friends. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Will stay every time we are in Amsterdam

The service at Sir Albert was flawless. Shoutout to Ishmael and Leila! They were fantastic hires. Very helpful in offering recommendations, kind, and welcoming. This goes for all front desk staff. Other standouts worth mentioning… - The bed linens are so comfortable! I often feel hotel linens are scratchy, but these are so soft. - Cozy sitting area in the lobby (and very well designed). - Fully stocked, clean gym. - Location being 15 min walking to all the main attractions. - They put a candy cane and sweet not on all doors on Christmas Day. This was such a sweet touch for those who were away from their families. Obviously, I highly recommend Sir Albert!

We had a miserable experience during our three night stay at Sir Albert. The hotel is advertised as air conditioned, however, it does not have air or any air circulation. The room was stuffy and the shower has zero air circulation with mold growing in the corners. We asked the front desk 4 times if they could address the lack of air and they said they could "reset" our system. Nothing was ever reset or improved. I commented on how much cooler it was in the reception area and they indicated that area was on a different system. One day, after we left for sightseeing and mentioned how hot it was to the front desk, someone entered our room and opened all the windows. When we returned home after a day of sightseeing, our room was extremely hot. I have no idea why they would have let hot air to an already hot room. You can find better hotels in Amsterdam.

This is a modern and stylish hotel - I loved the interiors! The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Location is great, close to museums and lots of other attractions, as well as the metro station. We stayed in a room on the top floor which had a great view and bed was super comfortable.

My worst stay in Amsterdam. I could not sleep for half the night because a DJ was playing on the ground floor up until 2am or so. Tried calling reception but they were totally worthless. I can highly recommend to avoid the place.

There were many things to like about the hotel. The staff was very welcoming and nice. The bed was super comfortable and the rooms were clean and interestingly decorated. But the bathroom was soooo dark! Hard to put makeup on. I know Sir Albert is going for the cool, sexy vibe, but I’d say they should give options to make the bathroom lighting a bit brighter. Also, there is very little storage in the room. The closet is tiny and full of other stuff, and no drawers or even under bed storage. Kind of s problem. We stayed for three nights and it was hard to navigate the small space with all of our gear and suitcases out in the open.

Had the most amazing experience. We had a special celebration weekend with friends. And the hotel crew - led by Nina - was just absolutely fantastic. Amazing rooms, super friendly hosts, beautiful location, and an above-and-beyond willingness to help. I'm from Amsterdam myself, so am familiar with hotels in the area, but Sr. Albert is my absolute all-time favorite. When any of my friends visit the city, there's only one hotel I recommend to them.

My one night stay at Sir Albert Hotel was wonderful. I checked in on a Tuesday afternoon after my travel was delayed. Not only was the property able to check me in early, the staff was welcoming and helpful during the check in process. The only 4 star I ranked was on overall service specifically in relation to food. When I arrived at the hotel, I asked about accommodations for the connected Sushi/Asian restaurant and requested the concierge make a reservation on my behalf. Surprisingly, the front desk agent told me they couldn’t do so because the restaurant was a separate legal entity. That was very disappointing from a service standpoint because the main benefit of a connecting restaurant is to provide a convenient & enjoyable service to guests. This inconvenience turned me off so notably in the moment, that I chose not to visit it the restaurant for dinner. In addition that that experience, the breakfast spread was underwhelming. They offered no eggs, bacon, sausage or warm breakfast of any sort. I would not purchase the breakfast package up a return visit. Luckily, the location is fantastic and I was able to find breakfast, lunch & dinner options within 5-15 minute walking distance. The highlights of my short stay were the friendly staff, the room itself & location. Looking forward to staying again on a future visit!

Great hotel in a great location: 10-15 min walk to all the museums and so many great restaurants in the area. Outside of the city center so it was pretty quiet. Only complaint is that DJ in restaurant played until 1AM, which made it a bit hard to sleep at night. Otherwise a terrific stay

Boutique hotel with a hip yet nice vibe. GREAT location for exploring the museum quarter. Rooms are charming, albeit small. The WC and shower are two small, separate closets, while the sink is in the room. Tiny desk with one desk chair, and that's it. The service is outstanding; everyone greets you with a smile and enthusiasm. Note, the thermostat in my room was inoperable; no matter how high I turned up the temperature, the room never warmed up. The marble tile floors are very, very cold; use the provided slippers.

Lovely aesthetic, bright welcoming lobby area with friendly staff. My room was spacious, clean and had all the amenities expected. Only downside was the restaurant IZAKAYA was closed and I was only informed on arrival which was disappointing as I had hoped to try the cuisine. De Pijp is local to Amsterdam Central...but has a vibrant neighbourhood of its own. For me it was a great stay overall.

  • 2/5 Nicolai Chen N. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel is nice and the staff were extremely accommodating and service-minded. However, my room was on the first floor and there was loud music coming from the restaurant/bar each night until late (past midnight), even during the week. This made it very difficult to sleep, and as I was in Amsterdam on a business trip, was not ideal for my work commitments and meetings the following days

  • 5/5 Harry W. 1 year ago on Google
Excellent hotel. The rooms are spacious, elegant, and beautifully finished. Bed and pillows are extremely comfortable. It is quiet and peaceful at night, despite having a restaurant/lounge downstairs. Neighborhood feels safe and has many restaurants/businesses. There is a small free gym just down the block that has everything you need for weightlifting workout. A few small notes: the WiFi is not great, it seems you get throttled after using a certain amount per day, after which it’s nonfunctionally slow. Also the temperature control does not seem very responsive, sometimes the rooms can get warm at night.

I stayed four nights at Sir Albert hotel and it was great! The location is amazing, just five minutes by foot to the Van Gogh museum and Rijksmuseum, and there are tons of bars and restaurants nearby. I stayed on the highest floor (4) so it was quiet. The bed was comfortable, and the room had everything I needed. Their staff was friendly and their room service was good, too.

This hotel is incredible! The most amazing and kind front desk staff. Every inch is gorgeous and the rooms are a good size and the ledge along the bathroom wall was amazing for storage (I feel most hotels do not have enough counter or shelving space in bathrooms). Oh and the shower closed off from the rest of the bathroom… so tranquil and private. We’ve stayed at Airbnbs and other hotels in Amsterdam and this one far surpassed them all with both facilities and location to the metro, amazing restaurants and the museums. Hope to be back for a longer stay at Sir Albert!

ONE STAR IS TOO MUCH. Front desk service was horribly rude! there were footprints on the walls, toothpaste on the sink.. The tv had a mind of its own! It would turn back on, and it would turn the sound on when muted. I had to unplug it for the stay... The floor was dirty but hey... We found coins on the floor.. Bring a flashlight 🔦 it is extremely dim in the hotel and smells unreasonably strong!! If you have asthma or a sensitive smell you will hate it. Terrible experience here

The moment we arrived at the hotel we were greeted with very friendly staff, they love to help if you have any issues. Though I do wish we were informed that the contents of the mini fridge were not complimentary (and very expensive), I don't often visit hotels and this may be common knowledge nonetheless, I'll own it up to being my own mistake. The room itself was very comfortable, though I can't help but feel that a few elements were not of expected quality. Firstly, the television seemed to be a little archaic, we'd have liked to stream a series on Netflix but couldn't seem to figure that out. We also wanted to see if we could lower the room temperature any more considering the summer heat was beating down on us, but we unfortunately could not and at least I was stuck sweating a bit in my sleep. Lastly, there was a bottle of mineral water (which I assume was probably complimentary) on a nightstand which we could not seem to open. Not a big deal, but a detail nonetheless. For the rest it was a great stay, and I would recommend it if you are planning on staying in Amsterdam for a few nights.

Lovely hotel in my favorite part of Amsterdam, De Pijp! The hotel was very nice, the rooms were great and the kind staff really made our stay perfect! From the hotel you can walk easily to all the nice bars and restaurants the city has to offer. Would definitely go back!

  • 1/5 John M. 1 year ago on Google
If considering this hotel do not stay on the first floor. I had a restless night. The bar is directly below some of the first floor rooms. It was all bass all night in my room until the bar closed. The bed was too soft and I never got comfortable (I realize that’s a preference thing). Also having the headboard of the bed directly in front of the windows is just bad design. Very disappointing given the price. This sort of set up is what you’d expect from a hostel not a hotel. The staff were nice and helpful. It’s more of a design/ management flaw.

The entire staff at the Sir Albert treated us extremely well but Bjorn at the front desk was absolutely fantastic! Very helpful, informative, and friendly. Went out of his way to get my relatives and I great rooms with no prior notice after our reservation at an Airbnb did not work out. Even found us a fantastic room with a small balcony after our first nights stay. Another staff member named Sergio also went out of his way to help us during our stay. Comfortable rooms with great decor and a wonderful staff!

We stayed in a deluxe room which was a reasonable size but had quite a small bathroom. The shower was lovely and hot though, and very powerful! The bed was very comfortable too and we could quite easily have stayed in it longer had the alarm not woken us up early in the morning (we assume that this had been set by a previous guest and would possibly recommend that staff check these once guests check out?!) The illy coffee machine was nice however, it constantly leaked water all over the bedside table. The restaurant was very crowded and noisy most nights, and people would stand directly outside the entrance to the hotel smoking which we didn't like. Housekeeping was okay however our bed sheets weren't changed at all during our stay (5 nights) which we found unusual.

Amazing hotel. I was here for my girlfriend's birthday and the staff decorated the room before we arrived which was such a lovely touch. We had breakfast in bed and it was perfect. Room was very clean and you had a beautiful view from the balcony. Couldn't recommend this hotel enough. We'll definitely be back.

My husband and I stayed for a few nights recently. The hotel staff were very welcoming and even managed to give us an early check in as our flight got in at 8am. We were advised our room may be noisy as it was on the first floor, as the restaurant played music until 1am, however I didn’t find the noise much of a problem. We were also offered a room on a higher floor, but would have to wait until 3pm for normal check in time. We were given Baloons and chocolate in our room, as we had told the hotel we were there for our 10th anniversary which was a lovely touch. The bed was very comfortable and water pressure in the shower was amazing for a hotel-probably the best I’ve stayed in. My only complaint would be the room was quite dusty and could have been cleaned a bit better (marks on the light switches, tables, glasses etc). But I went over these myself with a wipe. The snacks also didn’t have a menu to explain how much they were. It was Overall a lovely hotel & welcoming friendly staff. Our bags were stored for our flight home, no problem. We didn’t add the option of breakfast as we felt it was quite expensive so I can’t comment on that. The market is a 5 minute walk away which is a must for a browse. We would return in a heartbeat if visiting Amsterdam again!
