Great location, in a central location of the main city. Price seemed pricey for what it was. Rooms were very basic and mattress was very small. Okay place to stay for a base of seeing the city.

I have fond memories staying here in November, 1999 with my future wife. Our flight came in very early morning and the staff let us check in at 7am before opening. We appreciated that very much. Really neat place with a great view from our 5th floor room. Lots of stairs but we were young and it added to the charm.

My experience at the Hotel Amsterdam Inn had both positives and negatives, but I cannot recommend this stay for the vast majority of people. Positives: - Location: this stay was in a great location and was very walkable to the majority of places we wanted to visit. - Staff: the staff at the front were very kind and helpful, and were responsive to our communication. They also helped us bring our bags up the incredibly steep stairs Negatives: - Stairs: The primary reason that this stay is not somewhere I can recommend to many people is because the steep and narrow stairs (with no elevator) make this hotel really inaccessible. Both my friend and I had heavy checked bags, and had to ask for help to get them up the stairs. I really appreciated that the staff at the front desk helped us with our bags, but I don’t think there’s any room at this hotel that would be accessible for some folks with physical disabilities. The stairs were honestly so steep and narrow, it was comical. We asked for a room on the lower floor, but none were available. - Room cleanliness: my goodness, it was bad. When we first arrived, there was a lot of dust on the floor, a weird stain on the wall by the bed, the bathroom smelled really gross and was super dirty, the shower curtain was moldy, and we were really uncomfortable. The next day, we told reception and they were very kind and said that someone would clean deeply that day. I do believe they tried their best, but I think the room needs a much deeper cleaning than can be accomplished in an hour. I really don’t like complaining, especially since the staff were so kind and the rates were lower than many, but I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone except maybe folks who want a private version of something similar to a hostel. I see potential in this hotel if they were able to remodel, deep clean, and add an elevator, but I don’t necessarily think that’s going to happen any time soon. They were completely booked for the time we were there, so maybe this hotel works for a lot of people! However, if we had another opportunity to make the choice, we would’ve made a different one in hindsight.

Too many steps with no lift, you have to carry your baggages on your shoulder all the way and climb the historic staircase. But the building view and location is nice, heater working ok. Bed cloth are clean. No breakfast. I could find hot water in lobby but not in my room.

Location, bed, price, and reception were fine. There was no lamp or power outlet next to the bed. There was a small coffee machine but no cups. The bathroom had a weird smell and one of the 3 towels I got had hair in it. The walls were paper thin, I heard EVERYTHING happening in the next room! That's especially great when you need to get up at 6 am and extremely noisy neighbors come home every night after 10 pm. The hotel might be an option if you're on a tight budget, but my experience has been terrible. It's cheap and close to the center, but there's no comfort.

No frills, relatively good value for money given the location. Stairs aren't for the faint-hearted - check the photos. Staff was super friendly; checking in/out was such a breeze, he even gave me good recommendations on not-tourist trap eats in Damrak. I feel horrible for forgetting his name, but he's the new guy/student and he's great ]Unfortunate that there was heavy construction being done along the canal and the politiebureau during my visit. Not the most pleasant view and and loud sounds.

Location was great and the view was nice. But the rest wasn't good. We were supposed to have one bed but instead we got two beds with two mattresses. The mattresses didn't stay in place which made sleeping quite uncomfortable. The room was mostly clean but a few spots looked very dusty. There were no nightstands or nightlights (only an overhead lamp) which was disappointing. The wifi didn't work on the 3rd floor. Besides that, we heard a lot of noise from outside, even with the windows closed. And the curtain was barely wide enough to cover the window. Lastly, the breakfast was very simple and definitely not worth the money. Would not recommend this hotel.

The perfect hotel for a sole traveller to stay in overnight. Warm, friendly, and, for a single room close to the city centre in the canal district, perfect. Clean and tidy, lovely fresh bed sheets and bath towels, with a modern walk-in shower ensuite. Absolutely what I was looking for and far exceeded my expectations. I should have stayed longer, but I will definitely come back.

Lovely hotel for a short trip. Rooms weren’t the absolute best but cozy for an overnight stay. The receptionist is super nice.

If you are looking for a nice sleep to rest on good mattress( this is why sleep), definitely this is not the place for you. The mattress we got been sagged and totally not useable to have a good rest, so to survive the night we had to sleep sideway.

We had a great stay at Hotel Amsterdam Inn. Room was in a ok standard and the people in the reception gave us a lot of recommendations about the city. You can easily take the metro from the outside of the hotel.

The location was good, but there is no other word for the room other than dirty. The floor was filthy with so much dust and dirt which I can't imagine was from just 1 previous guest, mouldy bathroom and window ledges, the bathroom stunk of smoke, the bedding was all stained and the coffee maker in the room just had old murky looking water in so we just didn't use it. Provided soap, shower gel/shampoo, plenty of loo roll and a hair dryer though which was good, and the staff were polite.

I had a pleasant stay in this hotel. I was staying in Amsterdam for a concert in the Melkweg and the hotel's location couldn't have been more perfect. The room was small, but had everything you need. The only downside was the lack of an elevator, especially since my room was on the 4th floor, but I think that is not unusual in Amsterdam buildings.

Excellent location not far from bars, restaurants, supermarkets and public transport. Friendly staff they let us leave our bags, excellent wifi connection, smart tv, kettle. Nice canal view. Uncomfortable (very small) room size for two people if you staying for more than 2 nights. The staircase is narrow and steep, very difficult if you have luggage – do not recommend for older people and children. Bathroom curtain had stains. Shower area was quite small and cramped. Just have more sockets, or sockets locations.

Very dirty and noisy (bar area behind). Room was not cleaned when we arrived nor during our 4 days stay. Beds not made, towels left on them. Check also how dirty and old the pillows and mattresses are. Only good thing is that the city centre is 15 min away for on foot

Location is amazing. Lots of attractions at walking distance. The staff is very friendly. Rooms are small and facilities are a little worn down but it's a good deal for the money. The room I stayed in has a nice view to one of the channels but I had to move one bed in order to gain access to the small balcony. I deduct one star because the sink in the bathroom was very dirty, it was clearly not cleaned after the previous guests checked out.

Please never book a room in this hotel. Dirty, dusty and so dated!! I had to move the bed because I dropped my phone and god knows what I found under the bed. Hairs, crumbs ,pieces of nails!!!! The mirror in the room had finger prints marks and we found body hairs in the toilet sink. TERRIBLE PLACE! Only good thing is the location.

The hotel Is located so close vondelpark not fare from the center. The room was nice and clean, nothing was missing and the owners were very kind and helpful. I hope to be back soon.

Good staff Gréât location. Gréât view on canals (extra) That’s 2 stars. Poor mattresses and so much humidity in the room and bathroom Poor floors, dirty Poor toilet hygiene.. expensive rooms, looking at what you can get in Amsterdam it’s seems overpriced.

8.5/10! Amazing price for the location. You get a canal view, and you’re super close to everything in the center of the city. The building is slightly old, but they did a good job giving it new paint and making it feel like a nice place. The owner/main receptionist (he’s from Croatia) is very nice and helpful; however, don’t listen too much to his advice - we found that a lot of what he said wasn’t true. You can also rent bikes for €12.50 a day, with a €50 deposit. Only downside is that our door was slightly less wide than the doorframe, so literally every noise in the hallway could be heard with clarity. Last night, for example, there were drunk guys talking super loudly in the hallway and it felt as if they were right next to us because the open space between the door and the doorframe allowed the sound to travel right into the room.

Absolutely not clean rooms. Quite bad beds (but I had worse). Hard to get up to the rooms. Nothing for big or elderly people. But very friendly staff and it was an uncomplicated stay

Good price per location and privacy. Unfortunately location is close to some bars and people drink and shout all night till 5am. The building structure is all wood and a little noisy from neighbors walking on top floors or slamming the doors. Not a huge as price per location worth it.

Dear Lord what is wrong with half of these people. This hotel is actually quite clean and I enjoyed my stay and the courtesy of the staff. Its in the perfect area and has everything you need.

The hotel is at an amazing place close to all the attractions. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. This hotel is at the older Amsterdam area and one can easily stroll the streets near various canals as well. But having said that, the building is old and as is typically with all older Amsterdam buildings, the room is small and stairs are very narrow and steep. Even lifts are non existent. It is impossible to carry big suitcases to the top.

This is a very basic accommodation that is the next step up from a hostel or dormitory style places. It is an old building with a number of rooms dedicated to guests. My room had two twin beds, a television, Nespresso machine, hairdryer and its own bathroom and shower. The staff was very helpful in explaining the city layout and how to get around cheaply. While does not have the best views, it is located close to many attractions like the Rijksmuseum, Heineken experience and a number of restaurants and bars. The place is cleaned daily though sometimes you have to navigate the bags of sheets left on the stairwells. Additionally, the stairs are quite steep and the steps are very narrow. People with larger feet should pay particular attention. Finally, if you arrive after hours, you must go to another hotel nearby (Hotel Marnix) to check in. Again, this is a good place for the price, especially if you do not want to share a room with 4-10 strangers.

The hotel was a pretty decent place, the room may be small however, it was perfect for what we were doing in Amsterdam. It was clean and the beds are comfortable and for the price you are in a beautiful part of the city looking out over the canals. Lots of food and drink near by.

Very good price and location, but no so clean...

It was decent for the price.the rooms were okay .bed was comfy but pillows not great .had lots of mirrors and plugs and a hairdryer with desk and chair and a wardrobe. The maids came daily to give you fresh towels and toilet roll. The shower curtain was broke and left on the floor so the bathroom got really wet .The staff were really nice and friendly and the location was pretty good.

Neat and clean. Good budget hotel. Service is great. Staircase is steep so think again if you have heavy luggage. Location is the best part.

It is a basic hotel. It is clean but it is very noisy I stayed two nights and both nights I woke up between 2:00 am - 3:00 am due to the noise of the other guests (one for an argument and another for the noise from the stairs and the bathroom of the upstairs). The staff was very friendly. For travelers who don't care the comfort is perfect!!!!

Solid hotel overall, but great for the affordable price. Rooms are small but normal quality. The stairs are super steep which wasn’t an issue at all for my friend and I but could certainly be for some. All the staff were really nice too

the staff were lovely and the rooms were spotless the only down fall was the marks on the walls, and the mattress was completely stained. They could at least have a mattress protecter on top. Also there was a few random people that would come in the halls and talk which was very annoying, as the bottom floor was reception and then you have to go outside to go to the top floor for the rooms. Also it was a bonus having the high street right round the corner.

😐 It is a large, somewhat impersonal, completely unshaded and extremely noisy campsite (we were in the tented section).Noisy because there is a large multi-lane bridge nearby, which is still very busy at night.
