DO NOT BOOK HERE! I stayed here with my partner & friend for 3 nights, and it was an absolute nightmare. The rooms are AWFUL! No window in the room, no bin to put rubbish in, and no air con! The kicker - every time you shut the bathroom door, you get locked in from the inside. That’s without locking it! We told the staff about the faulty door and they apparently fixed it, but nope. If it weren’t for having other people in the room, you’d be stuck in there. Another thing, the wardrobe in the room wasn’t secured to the wall and practically fell on my friend when she was sleeping. The staff are rude as anything, charge you a fee the moment you walk In that wasn’t mentioned in the booking (27 euro). Whenever you’d try to talk to the staff they’d laugh at you, not provide any advice or info on what to do in Amsterdam and not very great English. The walls are also not sound proof, so we’d be hearing slamming doors from other guests at 4am along with all the conversations they’d be having. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS!

0 Stars would still too much for this Hotel. We booked 2 rooms for 4 people. When we arrived we found larvas, bugs and dirt in BOTH beds. When we removed the sheets there was even more dirt. We told the receptionist and he didnt seem to care at all. He offered us a new room and basically told us that we shouldnt have lifted the bed sheets?? The new room was OKAYISH, no bugs/dirt in the bed, but the whole room overall was just not clean. We didnt feel comfortable staying in the hotel at all so we decided to reach out to our booking agency. The receptionist then came up to our room and was super rude and told us that if we dont want the room, we have to leave because we "RUIN every room for other guests" by lifting the bed covers. We were honestly shocked and left the hotel 1 hour after arriving. We had to organise a new hotel and the whole experience was just HORRIBLE. We dont think telling guests that "they just shouldnt have lifted the bed sheets" and that they "ruin every room for other guests" by looking underneath the bed covers, is an appropriate reaction after said guests have just found literal DIRT/ BUGS AND LARVA in their beds. Also besides the dirty rooms, everything else was also just super dirty. The carpet floor has not been cleaned in what looked like ages. There was a super gross smell throughout the whole floor (chemicals mixed with sewer smell). The receptionist was rude. Not a single apology, just straight up RUDE.

Don’t be fooled by the photos. Very basic hotel room. Disgusting carpets with numerous stains. Dirty sock found next to the bed. Strange stain on dressing table seat. Basic bed. TV too high on the wall. Dirty balcony and windows easy to open from outside. We ended up leaving the hotel to stay elsewhere due to a strong smell of sewerage coming from the bathroom. We think it was from the shower drain. Receptionist was rude and didn’t want to help. We asked for a refund and he was not cooperative. Do not stay here unless you are desperate.

Very clean room, modern furniture, very clean and well equipped bathroom. The staff is polite, nice and helpful. You can buy tickets for the public transportation from the reception (there are also 24/48/72 hours tickets that you can buy). There is a tram station near the hotel and several small lovely shops and restaurants around. The location is not the best though, being a little bit far from the center.

We liked the location, even if it's not central there is public transport with which you can quickly get to any tourist point. It was cleaned every day, and towels changed daily. Not so far from the hotel is a place for very good breakfast, Coffee Oslo. Very small room, pillows not very comfortable. When the coffee in the room ran out, it was not supplied, we had to go and ask for it at Reception. We had a room on the main road and every 30 seconds to 3 minutes the traffic lights would go off or change, and trust me they are not quiet )) The price is a bit high for the hotel facilities.

The beds were so uncomfortable, we had 1 tiny pillow each with no padding in at all. Beds were filthy and ridden with bed bugs. Me and my partner are covered in bites and are not happy at all. When asking the hotel for a refund they said no. I would not recommend staying here.

I booked a room that was supposed to have huge window for about 120 EUR per night. But I was given a room with just a little window in the ceiling, dark and claustrophobic. I could not sleep there as there was no fresh air coming to the room despite that window was opened all the time. I doubt such location would be approved for living in a more civilized country. There are cheaper hotels in Amsterdam with higher standard.

I booked the hotel as it was cheap but still looked decent, when I finally arrived and saw the hotel from the outside I definitely judged a book by its cover on this occasion as it didn't look great HOWEVER getting into the actual room and sleeping on the beds I couldn't really complain at all. It was very good and the beds were very comfortable surprisingly. The staff at the front desk were very helpful so that was great. There's a tram/bus stop right outside which makes it very easy to get around in Amsterdam. I highly recommend this hotel.

Extremely kind and accomodating staff. Able to meet a variety of needs and requirements with remarkable professionalism. Personally, I had a special requirement secondary to an exceptional circumstance. This was dealt with great professionalism and politeness. I am very grateful for this. The location is also good as very well connected to the city centre and to the central station. I would recommend it!

We found BED BUGS in our room. The guy at the reception promised that we would receive an e-mail the following morning, describing the fact we left the room, just to be sure that my friend and I could receive the refund, but the e-mail never arrived. Furthermore, the reception guy didn't manage at all our situation, so to help us find a new accomodation. We just left the "hotel" at 1 in the night, with our luggages and no roof on our heads. I have been bitten by the bed bugs and I'm still recovering from it. Do I need to add something more?

Good location, but be ready for a third world experience. Rooms are nasty no one has cleaned behind the beds for months it seems. Curtains were super dirty with god knows what. In my view it’s a little bit overpriced for what it is.

This place is great, honestly. The rooms are clean and quiet, the staff is friendly, the restrooms are clean and well lit, there’s free and fast Wi-Fi and a small bar and concession stand. Would definitely visit again.

We stayed at the hotel for a week. the rooms are smaller than I expected, but that's okay. Nice surprise that the room had a balcony! the cleaning works great, I was really happy. They visited almost every day when we were away. They had made the beds and even folded my night t-shirt🥹❤️ 4 stars for the location because public transport runs right next to it. Tram number 17 goes directly to the center!😊

After seeing the reviews I was preparing for the worst. But everything was perfect. It was clean and I got a good night of sleep. It’s perfect if you only want to stay the night. Definitely recommend.

Good, basic hotel with all essentials. Staff kind and helpful. Room was clean and functional but one of the bedside lights was out and a socket was temperamental. Very close to public transport links to Amsterdam centre. Would stay here again!

Nice, clean rooms - friendly and helpful staff but right by a busy road and the single-paved windows dont stop the noise

Our experience of the Belfort was a 4 stars one. To understand why the rating is low, here are some points of explanation based on our visit: - the basement rooms are very unequal. Some are located street side, which is very busy. Our room was on the other side - which was quiet. - DON'T go there during heatwave, the flat get hot very fast. - Service is friendly but had some minor issues (no coffee/mug replacement every day, we had to ask). For the positives: - great location (next to tram 1 and 17, and two lovely parks). - good price - was clean, good shower and room Overall, it was a good experience and I would recommend the hotel for a stay as long as it not in summer.

Absolute value for money, the rooms are clean and modern with a lovely shower and comfy beds! They came equipped with tv and fan, the bar is well stocked and it was easy to get into the centre by tram. The staff were all friendly and accommodating as well - would stay again!

Just one star for the workers in the hotel. Its really hot, the room is right next to the street and everyone can see everything. The room was unfortunately full of dust and the worst was that we really cant sleep and stay in the room for long because it was stuffy. The hotel had no air conditioning system and the fan was damaged, made warm air and was very loud. Wouldnt recommend

Good price, nice very clean big room,no windows for the rooms in the basement but not a problem, excellent transport to city centre about 15 minutes by tram or 50 minutes walk

Very clean and modern room for the price. Comfortable beds! no ac so can get hot but there is a fan.

Worst possible hotel. The guys at the reception is very nice, cooperative and with always a smile. But the rest of the hotel is just less than one star. The rooms are below the ground level, and the only windows they got are super small, not enough for ventilation. You will soficate for sure. The ventilation for the bathrooms is the worst. There is no air conditioned, it’s like you are in an oven down there. I don’t even understand how this places are allowed, if there is an emergency, you’ll probably won’t survive. Make your self a favor and book somewhere else, or you won’t enjoy Amsterdam.

Honestly this place is totally fine. If you're expecting a luxury stay then it's not going to give you that, but if you want to stay somewhere clean, nice, with friendly staff and in a great location then this place is perfect. I would recommend bringing ear plugs if you're a light sleeper because of the road/tram noise outside - I did this and it didn't disturb me at all. There was a mild, slightly odd smell in the drains when we arrived but this went away after a shower and was completely fine after that. The bike hire was awesome and there were loads of great bars/restaurants/cafes in the area, plus the parks! Oh.. and the 'disgusting carpets' from other reviews.... our floor was a nice laminate so no problems there!

If you're not underground you're upstairs next to a busy main road which would be fine if you could close the window, but alas the rooms double as a sauna, so it's either sweat (no AC) or super loud traffic and bugs. I just killed a mosquito on my leg writing this. Staff are lovely, easy access to the city on the #17 tram but the room itself could barely accommodate the bed in it, let alone myself, my partner and our luggage. Toilet is technically in the shower, for the money you pay I don't think it's worth a stay. Breakfast is added cost on top of the room, tram passes available at reception, battery powered safe leaves you unsure of the security of your belongings. Room was clean on arrival but overall wouldn't recommend or stay again.

We were stuck with an underground room that only had 1 TINY window which was made 10x worse by the fact the room was constantly hot and clammy. Staff were averagely nice, not excessively helpful or anything. Definitely will not be returning to this hotel on my next trip to Amsterdam.

Extremely dirty hotel. Insects were all around the room and bathroom. This hotel deserves a serious inspection from the health authorities in Amsterdam. Rooms were having a horrible smell and extremely loud since windows are not insulated (you can listen every single noise from the street). Room floor carpets all dirty. Very bad experience. Not recommended at all. Please stay away from this hotel (room price is far from cheap).

Value for money, not too far from the centre so convenient. Room was small, you could move but you can’t do a party so fair. Staff were nice, polite and willing to help you. Bed was fair even if I used it for 1 night. Sufficient number of towels, coffee offering in the room. No windows so if you gonna stay for more nights it is something you should consider. Noise every day and night several times coming from the bathroom was disturbing at times. Noise also from adjacent rooms was annoying. Very thin walls so bare this in mind.

Really not sure why this place has such harsh reviews. Maybe people need to lower their expectations. Sure the carpet is stained and the wall is scuffed, but really why does that matter? This place is clean, the bathroom was especially gleaming on our arrival. Front desk was friendly and helpful, the bed in the room was really comfy. Sure there was a bit of noise from outside but nothing that kept us awake. Tea and coffee in the room. Didn't try breakfast or NY food at the hotel. Tram right outside and a nice coffee shop round the corner with edibles and a smoking room. Considering this was the best price hotel we could find in the city, I'm really happy with it.
