The hotel was absolutely fantastic the staff were very helpful and friendly couldn't do enough for you. Location was just outside the city but only a five minute tram ride to the heart of Amsterdam. This meant that the hotel was peaceful and quiet. Rooms are very well equipped comfy large beds coffee machine and fridge. The rooms are perfectly clean and tidy. Only had breakfast but this was a good selection and very tasty. All in all I would πŸ’― recommend this hotel.

The hotel staff was very nice. The location is a little bit away from downtown but still a walkable distance. Nice restaurants close by and a peaceful neighborhood. Our room was nice with a nice view of the park. Would definitely stay there again!

Brilliant place to stay, away from the noisy nightlife but close enough to visit areas of interest. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly. Close to the tram line so easy to get around the city.

The staff here is amazingly helpful and understanding! Pillows are super comfy and the rooms are relatively large for this price range. I had a great stay! Special Shout-out to the Moroccan receptionist, you're amazing at your job!

The hotel is old, very old and initially you think that translates to luxury. The rooms are what you can expect from a hotel without stars that charges half (or even a third) the price. Some of the rooms have a musky smell (almost like someone has smoked a cigarette). What's with the warm temperature at night? You cannot change the temperature because there is no thermostat (as any half decent 4 star hotel should have!). However, the breakfast is good - the only reason for the 3 stars. Tip: just climb the stairs, you will be faster than the elevator that works like it was built in 1815.

In case you want to sleep an in cran canyon this is the hotel to go to. Paid 75€ a person a night but slept an a mattress worn out by the previous people. Nevertheless the breakfast was great but would not sleep there again !!!

Amazing location, me and 4 friends shared a family room which obviously is a little cramped but we were just wanting to sleep there so didn't care, location is right next to a tram which goes directly to the centre! Nice and quiet and clean however cleaner didn't take towels away and left pillowcases around. But the important things were done. Staff were lovely.

I loved this hotel. Nice large room with tiny shower but otherwise good catch. No air conditioning, be informed. Friendly staff, quite 2nd floor back yard facing room. Recommended.

It's my 4th time in this hotel, and I'm writing my review as guest in this moment.. You couldn't ask for better group of people to run this hotel.. They really care for you, and go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and welcome. The location is absolutely my favorite in Amsterdam, you just can't go better than that, unless you pay a fancy hotel over 1000€ per night Definitely will go back there any other time I'm in Amsterdam.

Wonderful staff that was extremely service-minded. Standard rooms are small and crammed, but affordable. We upgraded to a superior room to get a double bed, which staff missed to begin with - but then offered free breakfast to make up for this! Room was nice but separate shower/toilet and limited lighting, making it hard to do makeup.

Stay was terrible. Booked cozy room...turned out its in basement. 6 am you can hear people walking in park or some random people unloading stuff outside of your window Service was terrible - employees hardly know anything..asked them about nearby parking, hot chocolate etc. No clue! No lift to the basement...we fell down while taking our luggage to the room. There are plenty other options to choose from in the city center. This one is located outside and takes 15-20 min to reach to Central by Tram Note: Bathroom/Toilets are too small...when you sit on commode the sink is right in your face!

Fine hotel room but the rooms from 50 to 59 are in the basement with only a vent window and no view. So it was nice and cool in the room but no city to look out with. Service was top notch and any issue was resolved quickly. Breakfast was okay, coffee was not that good but the rest was fine and more choices then we expected.

A modern spacious practical friendly hotel in a great location. From fruit water on top in the lobby to providing wine glasses for our room to storing our luggage after checkout, this hotel showed us its customer-first mentality.

Had a great stay with two others at the Lancaster Hotel. The rooms were clean, quiet and came with everything you'd need when staying away. Service was great, everyone we encountered was friendly and we were a couple of minutes walk from the nearest tram stop that takes you into central and walking distance to well known boroughs and amenities (zoo recommended!). The coffee machine in the room was a nice touch (pods hidden underneath) and it was useful to have the option to buy food and drink from reception. The only downside was the rooms could have been bigger, but did the job!

It was the worst hotel we've ever stayed in. The room was tiny, two single beds pushed together, with a thin mattress on top. The bottom sheet did not tuck in, so scrunched up. Housekeeping did not fix it when they did the room. They didn't clean the toilet each day either. Bathroom was so tiny that the sink half overlapped the toilet. Shower the other side of the sink. Desk lamp was broken. Everything was dusty! Elevator didn't work properly! Scarey! Only one thing was good, that it was in a very good location.

Disgusting customer service from RAP. Was in the lobby a total of 4 min. ( play the tapes). And he was immediately dismissive of my whole group. Yes we may be louder than he had liked.. but we were legit, there and gone quickly on all accounts. With zero other customers around. He was condescending, belittling and rude. A simple hey, could you quiet it down, would suffice. But no. He told us β€œ to remember where we are at” Cute hotel… but hire better customer service attendants.all people should be respected.. but esp people paying at your establishment. Do better.

Breakfast room is smart and bright. Main hotel needs an upgrade. Basement floor rooms down large staircase, no lift access, no offer of help with luggage. Half way along basement corridor is another staircase with no hand rails, very dangerous. Standard rooms are very small, bathroom tiny. They offered an even smaller room on the ground floor when I pointed out the problems with the basement floor. Their assertion that it is a historic building does not get over the safety issues!!

Really appreciated the hospitality at Lancaster. Breakfast was well furnished with local and tasty products. Room was clean and perfectly suited for our 3 nights stay. Would recommend anytime.

No disabled access from the front so I struggled a little. No restaurant but good breakfast very clean and spacious. We liked the location and I walked everywhere as it was flat. The tran to the main station goes past the door. We enjoyed our stay

I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely come back ! I think so too: it deserves one more star ! The rooms are a bit small but very cosy and comfortable, it is just as described. It was very peaceful and calm no disturbance in the street. I think the only thing they can do is to improve the breakfast and they can totally go towards the 4 stars ⭐️ It was basic, not bad at all for a free buffet but rather simple, and no hot chocolate πŸ˜” The staff was super helpful and friendly ! I waited for my tram (it is super near!) in the lobby which is super cute and comfy. Also you can find a lot of little restaurant just at the corner of the road. Totally recommend it , thank you again πŸ™ πŸ’―

All in all a modern hotel. The rooms are clean and chic. Unfortunately we had a room in the basement that had no daylight. Nevertheless, we would recommend the hotel because the location is just beautiful.

This hotel is just amazing, the attention was excelent, the bed and pillows were absolutely perfect. You could choose the softness of the pillows. They decorated the room because it was my honeymoon. I will come back to this hotel. 100% recommended πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

Nice little hotel. My room was a bit odd with the toilet on the main floor but the sink and shower are in a loft.

Dear Lancaster Management, I just called to make a booking. Unfortunately i had a very rude and not motivated Lady on the phone. She told me to send an Email. But I wanted to speak to a person, who is in charge of reservations and wanted to discuss it on the phone and not email. She insisted to send an Email, as Jennifer who is responsible is not available until tomorrow. Very poor customer service. The LADY needs some training how to handle customers.

Good location, easy to take the tram and really good area. Walkable to city center (approx 30 min) and to all nearby canals and restaurants. Price was a bit higher than expected. First room we got was older and smaller but upon request we received a newer more comfortable room (with AC, as it can get quite hot on higher floors in the summer.

Lancaster hotel is quaint and a great location! Comfortable beds, and incredible staff. Would love to express my gratitude to the amazing reception, Rap & Mitch (?) unsure how to spell his name sorry! But they helped my partner find his necklace and they were very patient. Thank you for going above and beyond for us and I hope you take care!

Great hotel, city centre with parking. The staff were very welcoming, the hotel was spotless. Great attention to detail, I thought the coffee-to-go mugs in the room where a nice touch. A delightful experience, highly recommended.

Good location and a good price. The reason of the three starts it’s because the size of the room - very small. The window of the room is facing the side of the street it was very noisy. Be ready to check yourself in on a computer in the lobby. Also, parking is extra.

Don’t stay here if u value sleep. Especially don’t let them put u in the basement rooms. We were put In number 4 and it was basically a cupboard it was that small and the shower was broken. We got moved to number 11- little did we know that it was right next to the maids cupboard. Every morning from 7am we could hear them BANGING AND CLANGING around. I even went out and politely tried to say it’s 7am please can you try and be quiet coz the walls are paper thin. Final straw was our last day when they had a delivery. Metal cages rattling in and out. Luckily we were only there for a short weekend so stuck it out. This really put me off the hotel unfortunately as being tired is never fun on holiday especially a city break. I imagine the other rooms in the hotel to be okay. The room itself was lovely and well kept and the bed were really comfy. Location was good it’s well connected by trams to the centre. Again I imagine you could have an amazing stay here as long as u don’t stay In the basement !!!

😐 It is a large, somewhat impersonal, completely unshaded and extremely noisy campsite (we were in the tented section).Noisy because there is a large multi-lane bridge nearby, which is still very busy at night. Also noisy because of the "cigarette smokers". There are no rules and regulations - or if t...
