    UPDATE: Changing my review a bit because I received a very thorough answer by the hotel. There is a temporary issue with mice because of road works that will be fixed hopefully soon. Looking at the other mice reports in the review they are very recent so it is not an overall issue. And living in the Netherlands for 10 years I also had mice in some apartments, it is a common issue. Great rooms with bubble bath and good facilities BUT you cannot be a 4-star hotel and have an issue with mice. I saw one that ran directly towards my table and got completely disgusted and lost my appetite. The hotel staff just said 'sorry' and did not do anything about it.

    Great Hotel! Modern and New. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Specially thanks to Stijn working behind the bar he was always our waiter, great vibes and professional service! Made our experience! 100% recommended! Great value

    I made two reservations at the hotel one for Saturday night and one for a Monday night. The reservation for Saturday night proceeded without issue. However, when I came to check in on Monday evening the hotel said I had no reservation. I was fortunate that the same person was on reception as when I had checked in on the Saturday however, there was much confusion and at one point, they were insisting that I would have to pay again for the Monday night - a stressful and unnecessary situation. Eventually, it was determined that the hotel had not checked me out properly on the Sunday morning and it was necessary for the person on reception to go and check that the room had been serviced before checking me in to the same room as I had previously had with the assurance that the room had in any case been empty on the previous night due to the error by the hotel. my issue is with the reception staff on Tuesday morning. When I asked for a late check out they were insisting on charging me at €9.50 per hour. and when I mention the previous nights problems, it find no record of this on their computer. The story I was given the previous night that nobody have been in the room on Sunday night due to the confusion turned out to be incorrect as I was told that the room was occupied by someone with a different name on that night. mistakes happen, but they should’ve been logged on the system and the late checkout should’ve been complimentary as a result.

    Very nice dinner place. The food was great and everything tasted so good. The staff was very friendly but the service was a bit slow. I would recommend.

    The Hotel and hotel staff at the reception was polite nice and very friendly. But mice in the restaurant is not so nice. The location is also great as they offer lots of parking and also a shuttle service to the ferry if you want to visit Amsterdam Centraal. The facilities such as gym, pool and sauna were also great and everything was clean and the hotel had a nice smell too. The rooms are very good size and also the bathrooms and rooms are clean. If I could have one wish it would be to include a shoe helper in the rooms but that’s personal preference. Why I cannot give 5 stars overall and also not 5 stars in service: We were so happy with the hotel and our stay and the breakfast was great with lots of fresh fruits an live cooking egg station we well as pancake and French toast station, that we decided for our last night to arrive back to the hotel earlier and have a nice dinner at the hotel restaurant. I planned on having a nice dessert at the end and was looking forward to it. However, just when we decided what we wanted to have for dessert the man sitting next to our table noticed a 1-2 mice running around in the restaurant close to our tables. I lost my appetite and did not order some desert and but we were allowed to moved seats across to a different area of restaurant as the man at the table next to us did the same. The staff in the restaurant was aware of this and I also mentioned it to the night reception as well as during check out the next day. Some staff members seemed more surprised than others about this situation but I really felt uncomfortable even though the reception was apologetic the restaurant staff seemed at least to me a bit unbothered about the mice situation on hand and at least I would have expected some sort of service gesture like as an example -one free drink or or a small discount some sort of gesture for this situation coming from the hotel or the restaurant. Of course I understand that it can happen as they have a large patio outside and they easily can get in and again the staff was apologetic but I felt a small gesture for it would have been appropriate as I really was put off my dinner and the dinner experience and therefore I need to deduct one star of the rating. However the dinner that was served prior was delicious.

    This has to be hands down the MOST DISGUSTING / DIRTY \ DANGEROUS hotel I have had the unpleasure of staying in. May I add I fly around the world & always stay in 4-5 star hotels at bare min I expect them to be clean. Well I had the shock of my life & have since this visit been so mentally scared I can’t rebook any trips atm due to the stress this has caused me! I was actually HORRIFIED to find blood & wee stains ALL over my mattress & bed yes the bed they expect you as a paying guest to sleep on ! Then I discovered 2 inches thick of dirty dust under the bed (clearly never been cleaned in YEARS) then to add insult to injury there was USED dirty tissues & socks under the bed like it made me feel physically ill ! I wouldn’t except this in a 1 start hotel let alone 4 ! I will be sending my photos & complaints to the people who rate these hotels & ask them to come & recheck them ! They should be close never mind anything eles this is big HEALTH & safety problem like we are talking about people’s body fluid how more horrible can you get. Next problem was they must of thought let’s hurt our paying guest as you your staff member clearly was not bothered about a dangerous bike which I was given to rent which turned out it had no breaks (they both completely failed on me after not long of riding out) these bikes are fast as well being electric so it’s super dangerous ! & when I told the staff once I got back he wasn’t even in the slightest bothered or concerned he was not going to get it Checked / fixed he would of happily just gave that bike back out to someone ! I had to make him report it & come & see the breaks for himself before he finally said Il get it checked ! This is the best part people so When I complained to the hotel managers about the shocking state of my room you won’t believe what their response was you can’t make this up! The lady said she sleeps on a dirty stained mattress at home & tried to tell me that 2 inches of dusts must of been made by me in 2 nights I stayed there like I actually laughed had I not been so angry ! What sort of thing to say to paying guests is this ? The worse part then was she went on to say we steam clean the mattress when CLEARY they don’t stains I WARN you not to stay here the health problems could be serious as it will not be pleasant to sleep on I’m in shock after complaining & explaining I was a loyal guest who has actually stayed with them before you would think no problems they didn’t want to offer me NOTHING at all they barely even said sorry I’m going to have to try & sue them to claim my money back as I won’t leave this & im NEVER staying with any of there brand hotels again I advise you to avoid this hotel I have no other reason to want to waste my time writing this review other than if it saves just one person from staying in this vile dirty place I’m happy as I read trip advisors before making any bookings this place needs to close down there staff was really rude

    Stupid room design. The W.C. is separated from the bathroom. The rooms were clean and large in size. New front desk staff they don't know how to smile. Thanks, Ms. Fayrouzah, for good quality service and your smile

    Good hotel with pool , only downside was the taxi shuttle which is €2.50 per person per trip for a 10 minute ride to the free ferry at ndsm. It gets gqite expensive after a few days. For a 4 star hotel it should be free.

    Great rooms. Bathroom was super clean and spacious. Bed was incredibly comfy. Reception service upon arrival was great, but room service at night (Saturday) was appalling. My wife called twice with no assistance. The breakfast is a must have as it was an amazing choice of foods. Highly recommend.

    Okay hotel 🤷🏻‍♂️ with wide Jacuzzi bath. Breakfast is good an worthy, but there is only local language near the dish. (Not a problem for breakfast, but decreases overall expression). It’s almost impossible to get to the hotel by public transport/on foot. The closest bus stop is 35-40 minutes away. And google maps advice to cross a highway (there is no pedestrian option) 🫣🤔. To solve the issue from the previous sentence hotel provides a transfer from the closest ferry stop. But you have to PAY for transfer, it’ half cheaper than the taxi (for two people only 5 euro CASH) but to pay for such service is definitely not a 4 star experience. And transfer only works on Friday - Sunday 🫠 3 times in the morning and 3 more in the evening. Also got woken up at 7 am on Saturday by vacuum cleaner in the neighbor’s apartment. Before checking out looked under the bad not to forget anything I’ve brought and I better didn’t, really dirty and lots of things from previous visitors. One more thing, I had a birthday on visiting day, and made a note about it in reservation, the only thing a got when came to the room was a small birthday postcard 🙂

    Very disappointed of the service in reception. Before we come we order fruits. In the email we gat from them its right we will have fruits till our stay. But the fruits comes only ones. We ask the housekeeping for clean towels they say we have to ask the reservation so we did ,but the towels never has been changed. In diner time we went to reservation again to ask for a second time. They do say will bring ,but that also doesn't happen so two days we use same towels. What irritant. First morning we want to have our breakfast in the room,but they say today we can't having. Super pure service. I been using hotels Van der Valk allot in the country, that one I stay fist and last time. I do not recommend 😐 that all. The only nice from there is tge restaurant the stuff was kind and food was tasty but I thinks they should looking there is a problem with the service.

    Food was good, surprised to see the shells were still in the pasta. The names of the food are kinda difficult...(with no pictures). No problem I liked the food I was just surprised to see the shells still in there, fancy.

    I went to the restaurant of the hotel. The service Is great. Everything Is clean (toilets included). Recommended also with children. I had the mushroom pie from the Wilde menù starter, gorgeous! As main I had the Château briand, delicious, the meat was melting in the mouth! I've also enjoyed the selection of wine. Attention to detail. Elegant without making those arriving in jeans uncomfortable. Love it! and you can end the night at the casino just a few steps away.

    I went to this hotel for some time to do some quiet work. I had a comfort room on the 6th floor where I had some space to work on my laptop. And enough space in the room not to feel claustrophobic. I like van der Valk as their hotels are spacious and good quality. The breakfast was really good and fresh with lots of choice. Lunch and dinner are also good with many different types op dishes. I rented a bike to go to 't Twiske for some walking and nature. That was lovely. I also used the free gym. Unfortunately it did not cater for the type of workout i normally do (calisthenics), so I had to be creative. Forgot my bathing suit so was not able to use the pool and the welness. The room was spacious and clean. Nice bathroom with a walk in shower. Toilet is separately. The pillows of the bed were very soft. Too soft for my liking. One other thing to improve: the "desk" where you can work on had very sharp edges so it started to hurt my under arm. I solved it with my laptop sleeve but would be handy of they were rounded. Service was good. Although during dinner and lunch I sometimes had to wait very long. During lunch on the terrace near the bar I actually did not see anybody for 10 minutes so I walked away to the restaurant inside. Room service price is outrageous in my opinion. 15 euros to have the food brought to you is too much. All together i had a good experience and I will definitely come back.

    I did not stay here, only had lunch. The "Angus beef cheeseburger" was very good, I had the possibility to choose between medium and well done(I chose medium), beautiful cooked, fries were quite cold as soon I got around to them and could have had a bit more salt. The burger itself tasted nice. The staff was nice, they came often to check if everything was fine. The restaurant looked nice with an luxe style unfortunately the through every window I had a sight of the highway, (which the hotel is placed next to). The hotel is also placed on the border between Oostzaan and Amsterdam(North) and Zaandam. It is also near the nature reserve 't Twiske. Also the nearest transit station is a bus station atleast 20 minutes walking

    We finally got here, after going to the wrong hotel originally!! Can't fault this chain, but there were some minor issues later in the stay. Hotel is spotless and very well maintained. Staff are mostly friendly with a well stocked bar and a self service area for snacks. Location is a bit out of the way, but a 12€ Uber ride gets you to the free ferry to the other side of the water. We were the only room of 4 couples who didn't receive any housekeeping, this may be due to poor wording of an email received by my wife which said replacement items or nothing. Clean towels, loo roll, toiletries, etc, were hung on the door handle outside. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, the food was good, but when one of our party complained there were no noodles with her noodle dish, she was surrounded by 5 members of staff, a bit over the top and intimidating considering the waiting staff hadn't told her that there were no noodle. Other than that, would we come back? Yes we would.

    Went for dinner and it was fantastic and fresh. Service really friendly and knows the menu. I had a port with sprit in a long glass. The bar man had never had this order before but said he's going to try this when he finishes work. Hope he did.

    I went there just to eat dinner, it was quite nice but their cocktail list is very very limited. & Not that great for the ladies. But for rest i really enjoyed my food, & unfortunately the location is not easy to get with.. with public transport. So ended up going with a uber

    Very good service and an extremely clean place. We started off with a business meeting with coffee. When our guest left we decided to have lunch. Not such a great plan. My partner had the Ceasar salad, which was OK, but no big deal, according to her. I had the Korean chicken sandwich. Taste was good, but completely uneatable. Mega chunks of chicken on the half of a full size baguette, with coleslaw and sauce in between, messy table and shirt as a result. Management, control your kitchen staff...

    The restaurant is rather spacious and cosy, it would be a great added value if the service staff can be less forgetful and more energetic, though they are probably overworked and tired.

    The hotel staff was hideously rude and this place is ABSOLUTELY Not worth the money. Hotel staff called the police after I and 4 of my friends entered the hotel for "suspicious activity" I'm guessing that means showing up drunk in Amsterdam? But the girl at the desk calling herself "Lisa" (short blonde) was the most rude person I have met in my life.

    Nice hotel and good dinner. Sadly some cobwebs at higher places but overal everything was nice and clean. Definitely recommended for staying however it’s hard to get there with public transport so make sure you can travel with a car
