Hands down the worst hostel in AMS. I've stayed in AMS 5 different times, in hostels, and this was the only hostel available. I can see why. We entered a small dark and very smelly room with 5-6 people yelling at each other. The people in the room were disrespectful and overall extremely weird. We felt so uncomfterable we wanted to go home early but ended up moving to a different hostel. Do yourself a favor and check out the rooms before you pay! They said they don't have a return policy (for a reason) however, if you press them, they will give you a full return. Hands down the worst experience i've had at a hostel in the past 10 years traveling (i've stayed at over 20 hostels). Definitely the worst hostel in AMS. this place really is only good for a 1 night stay, which is exactly what i did, so it was fair enough. most things you read on these reviews is true overall. • the stairs are what you should expect for a tall amsterdam townhouse, i had a backpack however so didn’t struggle much, suitcase users beware. • the rooms are extremely crammed and there is very little space to move around in at all. however the rooms are very clean, and the showers work well. one thing i didn’t see mentioned was weirdly a church bell or something goes off in a building very close by every 15 minutes, without fail. i cannot remember if it was throughout the night as well but it was from at least 8am - 12am(midnight). weird.

Rooms super small. No natural light in the room. Beds were quite comfortable. Points for the every morning cleanliness which also maintained the cleanliness in the bathroom and toilet. Dorm rooms with squeaky bunks, people sleeping and awake at all hours of the day, a door that is so loud it will startle awake any of those aforementioned sleeping people. CENTRAL AMSTERDAM...so sorry, people aren't going to bed at 8 p.m.! If you want peaceful quietude, maybe a spa vacation in the remote areas of the Himalayas might be a better choice for you! And the comments about the stairs...yes, they are steep, but this is how they built buildings 100 years ago (get a clue)! Super inexpensive (I stayed August 2-9, 2021) and paid $20/night for an 8 bed/mixed dorm, but they also have other arrangements and single rooms available--Hotels 2 doors down (and in general) run an average of $160 usd and up. I have been well over a dozen times, and my stay started with an argument with a bunk mate over assigned beds, the rooms are way too clustered and the bathrooms are extremely small with no room. we ended up leaving early, because of how uncomfortable we were with no other options and I would not recommend anyone to stay here. There are typically 12 people in a room and nothing looks clean. Would not recommend this to anyone.
