Great option for visiting Amsterdam and its surroundings. You are 2 minutes away from the Zaandam station where you can grab a train and arrive comfortably at Amsterdam centre within 10 minutes. Much better than being at a random hotel in Amsterdam and getting slammed in the tram to get to the centre. Brand new hotel, only a few years old and you can feel this. We had the standard room and we had enough space. Coffee machine in the room to get your morning kick and bathroom has a wonderful walk-in rain shower that we enjoyed a lot after a long day out. The personnel was very welcoming and willing to help. Room rate was good for what you get. Only downside is that breakfast is on the expensive side, but there are tons of breakfast options within 3 minute walking distance so we just grabbed something from there. Definitely recommended!

Great customer service. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were clean and big (we had a deluxe). Shower was amazing! Luxury beds, clean comfortable and nice pillows. There is a supermarket opposite and the station is a minute walk where it was just two stops into Amsterdam central and easy access to the airport (cheap fares too). It was quiet and relaxing. I would recommend this hotel and I would certainly go back. It was the perfect location. There is also a little shopping centre. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely stay. Keep up the great customer service - it really does count

Made an honest mistake booking this hotel thinking it allowed pets, unfortunately they didn’t allow. Asked for a refund, which they couldn’t give as it was already the day of the booking? Made me pay €75 for nothing in return. No apologies and no compensation whatsoever. Very arrogant and robotic desk workers. I would wholeheartedly recommend to steer clear from this hotel if you are looking for a decent customer service.

This hotel is such a gem and I am grateful that we chose it for our stay. The hotel staff members are all so nice, friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfy. The railway station is literally two minutes away (yet there isn't any noise from it), there are bus stops nearby, you can walk to the city centre, there are supermarkets nearby - all set for a pleasant stay. Totally recommend it!

Great experience staying here, staff were so welcoming. The location is great being near Zaandam station, shopping malls & groceries. If you’re travelling to Amsterdam be careful of google maps and route your trips from the station and you’ll need to get regional train pass. The hotel itself - the amnities were great, bed was comfortable and I felt safe. Would definitely stay here in a more quieter area. Thank you! : )

Excellent location. Just 2 stops from Amsterdam Central & only 17 mins from the airport too. Hotel only a few minutes walk from the station & opposite a large supermarket which was great for snacks. Rooms large & spacious. Fridge in the room & tea/coffee making machine. Bathrooms superb. Very large with deep bath & walk in shower. Bed a back breaker unless you love a soft mattress. Some scuffs on the walls in the room; could have done with a lick of paint. Our room was made up with fresh towels daily. We chose to include breakfast option & choice for breakfast was varied. Zaandam pleasant for a wander & great little Italian just by the station. Overall, this hotel is good value & we would recommend & return.

I lived here for 20+ day’s. So i can tell you about my experience. The checkin was super easy. Transportation is just few steps away from this hotel weather it’s train or bus. View is great around the hotel. Superstore are also a few steps away from this hotel. Breakfast was amazing and options were diverse. If i get a chance to live again I’ll surely go to this place.

Stayed here a few weeks ago. The hotel is in a great location. On arrival the staff were friendly enough, however this was the beginning of the end of the good experience. The rooms...we had two different styles of rooms booked. Both were dusty you could see on the carpets the lines of dust. This was overlooked just so we could enjoy our time away. I was overcharged at the bar for drinks. We had to pull the guy up for this. Turns out he charged us for a bottle of wine when we asked for a glass. Again not the worst thing that happened, this was me getting trapped in one of the lifts in the hotel. For over an hour! Fire brigade and emergency services were called and eventually got me out. Both myself and my wife were extremely upset by this. The hotel did not check on us after the incident...we didn't see a manager. And on check out it wasn't mentioned either! When we did say...we simply got...oh yes that was a shame. We were really disappointed at this responce and we got charged the full amount at check out. We will be coming back to Amsterdam in a few months but will not be staying at this hotel. There was no Compassion or apology offered.

All the staff were lovely, especially the bar man who made our stay even better. Only a few minute walk from the train station and you can take a 10 minute train central to Amsterdam Central. The rooms were clean and the bed was extremely comfy. The bathroom was very spacious and clean. Would recommend the double room. Definitely will be returning!

I recently stayed at this hotel for six nights, and while the room was spacious and the location was perfect with a nearby supermarket and a lovely hill within walking distance, my experience was marred by a few issues. Upon checking in, I inquired with the reception staff about potential noise on the 1st floor, and I was assured there shouldn't be any significant disturbances. Unfortunately, this turned out not to be the case. On the second night of our stay, we encountered a problem with our key card, and when I approached the reception to address it, I was met with the same unfriendly demeanor from the staff that I had encountered on the first day of our arrival. I tried to explain to her that there was noise coming from a room adjacent to mine, but her response was rather unhelpful and unfriendly. She informed me that it was a housekeeping room and offered a simple apology, lacking any willingness to address the issue further. As a guest in a 4-star hotel, I believe that the first impression, starting with the receptionist, is crucial to the overall experience. Unfortunately, the unfriendly and dismissive attitude displayed by this particular staff member left a negative impact on my stay and contradicted the expectations of a hotel in this category. In conclusion, while the hotel itself has its merits, the overall experience was soured by the unfriendly receptionist, which, in my opinion, does not align with the standards one would expect from a 4-star establishment. Additionally, it's worth noting that the receptionist we encountered on our second day was quite pleasant and friendly. However, it was disappointing to have the same unhelpful staff member from the first day resurface on our third day, which added to our overall mixed experience.

    >>>>WARNING BAD CUSTOMER SERVICES<<<< I rated 1 star because of really bad customer services. I have stayed there once thats why i wanna come back( facility is 4/5). But this time…disappointed. My fault that i booked room unrefundable. However, i cancelled my trip to Holland due to funeral of one of my family member. Its really unexpected that i would expect hotel management team can support. I booked 2 nights (cancelled 1 day before trip) with almost 500eur. But they did not consider to refund even 1eur! So seriously, i am really disappointed with their customer services. Definitely, we wont come back Zaan hotel if we plan trip to Amsterdam. They are NOT flexible AT ALL!!!! NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

No room service. Towels were not changed regularly. Reception communication was not clear. Laundry was not take from room for two days. Third day was not even send for wash from reception. Had to push them to get the clothes washed. Room and breakfast was good. Location is great just near the Zaandam station. But service was almost zero

Great hotel, lovely staff, amazing rooms. Great price compared to Amsterdam Central. 5 min walk to the train station, superb train service, 10 -15 min train ride right into Amsterdam Central for 6 Euro return. Great stuff. I'd definitely stay there again. Thumbs up.

Stayed here in October 2022 for about 5 days. As a solo traveller in Europe for about 2 months, this place was more than perfect in all aspects. The service was absolutely fabulous, staff was super supportive, the rooms were beautiful and the whole area felt more than safe. The connection to metro/rail service to Amsterdam city (15-20min) is just a minute walk. Thank you Zaan hotel. I think I'm coming back to you the next time I'm in Amsterdam. You made my stay absolutely delightful.

I want to thank Patrick on front desk he is always smiling and very helpful. It was one of the best hotels I booked, clean, quiet even it's close to the train station. The point I have it's only about some of the staff their attitude like they don't want to serve you.

Love this hotel, I come here often for business. Food is fine, employees are extremely nice and helpful and the location is amazing. For the rooms, they are fine. I would’ve rated 4, but I’ve had AC issues about 3 out of the ten times I’ve been here. Which feels a little annoying, as two of the three times they were unable to fix it during my stay. The service is good, room service is fine as well although the surcharge of 5 euros feels a bit unnecessary. Besides that, the people who work here are very nice and I’ve not met a sour face. The location is perfect, close to a supermarket, city centre and public transit hub. And with close I mean a 2 minute walk, with escalators and elevators available for anyone who is less mobile. I’m sure you’ll enjoy your stay here :)

I love this uniquely styled hotel and luxurious quality of room, the bed is comfy and the room is clean and spacious! The location is great that it takes 5 minutes walk from Zaandam station, the little city got everything you need, such as supermarket, restaurants, fashion stores, pharmacy, cafes, even art supply store…etc.

Good location within short walk from the train station. Both check-in and check-out were easy and fast. We stayed for 2 nights in room 545 which is a deluxe room on the highest floor. The room is reasonable size with a small window. Overall, the room was clean and tidy. However, on our 2nd day, the housekeeper did not replenish any of our toiletries in the bathroom, and our used glasses were not cleaned at all. Also, in the morning when we were getting ready in the room to go out, there was a staff hanging outside our window cleaning up the window glass. We felt that this could have been better communicated to hotel guests. I was changing my clothes and getting ready to go out and my curtain was not closed at all. It was quite a shock to see someone suddenly appeared outside the window. It felt like an intrusion of my privacy. Hopefully the hotel manager can look into improving communication on such matters in the future.

Nice place. Rooms are good. The food, especially the breakfast , is spot on! Never had scrambled eggs as nice. Housekeeping need to replenish consumables on a daily basis. But that's a minor gripe. The location cannot be beat! Perfect for the train station. Want to explore Holland?...there's a train along in the next 15 minutes... Saunter down from the hotel, get your ticket and, oh look, there's the train!

Beautiful hotel, however our shopping was taken from our room after room service and it was never found again? We had bought some stuff and had photos in them too and we was told that it’s policy that nothing is taken from the room so there is nothing they could do about it?!?! They gave us free late checkout but obviously this wasn’t as good as my shopping and photos of our trip being returned. Just be careful where you leave your bags. Such a shame this happened because it’s a lovely hotel itself

The hotel is well located in the nice town of Zaandam and it is a short walk from the train station. My room was large, clean and comfortable. The sheets were clean and the bed and pillows were quite comfortable. There is everything you need to spend a pleasant night. The breakfast was plentiful and I liked it.

The staff were lovely, always willing to help, the rooms were very clean, albeit we had some issues with a broken plug and toilet roll holder. The location of the hotel isn't great if you're visiting Amsterdam for a few days as you need a regional travel card to go-between Zaandam and Amsterdam, there's also a LOT of stairs between the hotel and the train station, so be aware.

We stayed here for 9 days. The location is really great. You can take elevator closed to the train station and then walk only 1-3 minutes to the hotel! And we really love the atmosphere around which is not toooo city for us. The room has a good layout especially for the toilet! (Very well-organized). The wall is very soundproof. However, there is a problem with coffee machine during our stay period. The staffs seem somehow not welcoming to us although we can speak English.

Fantastic hotel in Zaandam. Would recommend for ease of getting into the city as well as Zaandam. Station is a 1 minute walk from the hotel which is super convenient. You won’t be able to check in early so don’t arrive til 2. Room was spotless and beds were very comfy. Can’t fault it!

We stayed here for 4 nights and it was honestly perfect I could not fault them at all on anything. The staff were lovely the rooms were spacious, the location was literally a 30 second walk across a road. And a 10 min train to Amsterdam centraal. If i could give it more stars I would!

The best option if you want to rest and explore the city. It’s cheaper that hotels in Amsterdam and is nicer. You can take the train (around 15-20 minutes). The place is lovely and all the personal is very friendly. The rooms are excellent, the bathroom are incredibles and you have a supermarket right across the street. I’m hoping to return very soon, this is going to be my choose for the next stay

My husband and I travelled to Amsterdam for our anniversary (4th-7th August) and had an extremely poor experience here. Upon entering our room we were greeted with a large, dead spider on the wall and a revolting, questionable stain on the bed sheets. Our complaint was addressed with an offer for free breakfast, which was cold and lacking in flavour. For a 4 star hotel and the premium price we paid, this was pathetic and very disappointing. The least we should have been given was an alternative room. Our experience was further ruined by mosquitos or bed bugs that proceeded to bite us for the remainder of our stay. None of the toiletries were replenished over our 3 night stay. We won't forget this anniversary, for all the wrong reasons. And we do not plan to return any time soon. Furthermore, I would not recommend this hotel because to reach Amsterdam, you must purchase a separate sprinter railway ticket. The standard metro tickets do not work, which simply adds insult to injury.

Amazing experience at the hotel, check in was so smooth and professional. Staff don’t need to help as everything is clean up to date or brand new! The building outside was chocolate box! And the surrounding town was as pretty as a fairy tale! What a wonderful experience.

  • 1/5 Olaf H. 7 months ago on Google
the location at the train station is OK - the rooms are small, the windows don't open. the whole thing is a maximum of a two-star hotel by Central European standards. In fact, there are so many houses that are classes better. The breakfast is well below average in every respect. The parking lot in front of the house cannot be used, the staff refuses access - this means that you have to pay another 20 € per night for a parking space and you have to carry your luggage to the car on public roads the next day. In fact, this house is not a recommendation and one visit is more than enough.

The Hotel is running down....the price for the Rooms are too expensive comparing to the conditions of the room. The walls are dirty an need a New painting urgently, there were spider webs in the corners and Not such a clean Impression. Once we wanted a room service, only the beds were made...used towels were left on the Floor, somehow the room service wasnt finished. The employee forgot also the card in our room... Not to be recommended!

Good sized rooms that are clean, quiet and modern. Liked that there were European, British and American plugs in the rooms. The shower was distinctly lacking power (it felt like being drizzled on) and there was no water in the room.

In general, the hotel is good, but when we arrived, the reception was not pleasant, and you wish you had not booked this hotel, then you are surprised that there is a city tax that will be deducted from you, and a security deposit was booked without informing me, so from my experience, do not be surprised if this happens to you. The room is opened by room services without your permission, which makes you anxious, but on the penultimate day they called to ask me if I wanted the room cleaned. Cleanliness level is good. Train station very very near

Loved this hotel. Easy access to Amsterdam centraal. Trainstation dead opposite. Shopping and food places all within walking distance. Rooms were lovely and clean and comfortable, amazing shower. They gave us complimentary umbrella's in the bad weather (thank you!) Only issue.. they did not replace the coffee pods for the coffee machine, so only the first morning we have coffee in the room. Would definitely stay again, I do recommend 👌 great value

This is a super spot to stay in. Train station is a 3 minute walk away, and trains into Central Amsterdam are every 12 mins and take about 15 minutes to get there. I would definitely stay in Zaandam again. This hotel suited all our needs perfectly. The one fault was for breakfast , the scrambled eggs were pretty inedible, and they tasted like they were made from powder. Breakfast is about 18euros per person, so I expected better. The beds are super comfortable, which was an absolute bonus.

  • 5/5 Ilse van D. 9 months ago on Google
Good family hotel wothin close proximity of Amsterdam. Loved the size of our family room where the toilet and bathroom were seperated. If all your activities are in Amsterdam itself I would however advise you stay there since the commute can take some effort and time if trains are cancelled.

Perfect location for our short visit to Amsterdam. Easy 3 min walk to the metro with a quick ride into Amsterdam. It was nice having an Albert Heijn less than a minute away for snacks and beer. Also very close(10 minute walk) was a nice restaurant and bar area. With shopping along the way. The room was perfect and the beds comfortable. They had a gym,but had to go to the front desk to get let in,so never tried it out.

Went for 3 nights. Beware of "Tourist Tax", cost us £46 for just turning up 😖. Why don't they tell you about thus when booking? The hotel is spotlessly clean and staff are very accommodating. Our room was absolutely adequate for our stay incl. fridge & Krupps coffee machine and internet TV. The view was poor, but we didn't go for that. A mini market on the same precinct stocked our frdge with all our comforts. Train platform is a stone's throw away and the transport system is totally stress free. There are some nice quaint eateries on the other side of the platform for a tasty quick bite or breakfast alternative to the hotel. Air con rooms, bar & restaurant. It's a beautiful looking building of classic Dutch architecture. Yeah, I will recommend!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a modern hotel conveniently located close to the train station, offering direct access to the vibrant city of Amsterdam. My overall experience was highly positive, with the hotel's top-notch facilities, exceptional service, and enticing dining options leaving a lasting impression. One of the standout features of this hotel is its prime location near the train station. With direct access to Amsterdam's city center, it was incredibly convenient to explore the cultural, historical, and culinary delights of the city. The train connections were frequent and reliable, making it effortless to navigate the area and enjoy all that Amsterdam has to offer.

Great hotel! Nice location with a grocery store across the street. Nice gym and very comfortable beds. Friendly staff and only a 15min train ride to central Amsterdam. The train station is just a 2min walk away which is very convenient!

I’ve had one of the best stays in my life. High quality of food during breakfast. Location is perfect your in the middle of the center. Grocery store in front of the hotel. A small gym enough for doing quick workouts. Don’t expect a big gym. Super friendly workers.

It’s nicely located just beside the Zaandam train station (but still very quiet) and is surrounded by many good restaurants and supermarkets. The bed is comfy and room is spacious - the only concern is that the shower closet is open and the water can easily splash out to the floor of the entire bathroom. Still a perfect hotel for me! And I will surely stay here again when I visit Amsterdam once more.

  • 5/5 Vidhura M. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel room consists of a safe, a small fridge, a coffe maker and if you are a TV person there's a good sized one with both BBC and CNN together with the domestic Dutch channels. Staff and generally helpful. Very conveniently located near the Zaandam (north of Amsterdam) Station - that's about 12-15 minutes train journey from Amsterdam central or 18 minutes from the Amsterdam airport.

My stay was ok. The room was not completely clean (to my standard) there were food splashes on the walls and skirting boards. My sink was blocked (which was sorted for me by maintenance). My biggest issue was: the doors were banging all day and night, clearly the building is not built very well due to the fact that every single time a door shut, it woke me up or disturbed me greatly. I will leave this review at 2 stars due to the friendly staff, other than that, the hotel was not to my standard. My room was supposed to be deluxe double however, when I compared it to my friends it definitely was not comparable. My friend had a very nice room and my room matched a 'standard' room quality.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, wonderful facilities and the room was super cosy. Felt very relaxed and at home. Helpful staff and very clean. Wonderful interior too. Can't complain. Very close to Zaandam station too which is convenient for getting to and from Amsterdam Central.

Nice hotel with spacious rooms. The price is good for the service. The rooms have a coffee machine, safe and ironing board with iron. The bathroom is big and really nice, offering all the usual plus hairdryer. The beds could have a better mattress, although it was above average for a hotel. It is just 1' from the train station and 13' from Amsterdam central station by train. The breakfast although a bit expensive is really good. The hotel's restaurant (TSAR) is good and convenient. The only thing I have to comment is a weird smell in the corridor. Else a really nice stay there!

  • 4/5 Claire B. 2 years ago on Google
Rooms were nice just marking it down as I hate coffee and as such I didn't not appreciate making a cup of tea in my room with hot water from the coffee machine, tried to run water through it to get it coffee free but didn't happen. Service in the bar was good and location would have been great as less than 20 mins on the train from the airport, but the night we landed no trains were running so it took us 3 buses, 2 trams and 3 hours to get to the hotel. But I think that was just bad luck on our part!
