The staff were kind and well spoken in English. The room was clean and of reasonable size for us. The hotel was very well located, within 5 minute walk to the Zaandam train station which has trains every 10 minutes to Amsterdam Central, which is about a 15min train ride. As well as easy access to many other easy forms of transport. We had breakfast included which was nice but not a lot of variety. In terms of cooked breakfast, there was only beans, bacon and boiled eggs. I expected proper breakfast available so they should add sausages, options for fried and/or poached eggs and hash browns. I would have also hoped for omelettes and pancakes cooked on request, but there was no availability for that. It would have also been better if the breakfast was available until 11:30am rather than closing at 10:30am. There were also some small issues with the room which added up to be a bit frustrating. The pillows were very small, sort of half size, with normal size pillow cases folded around them, also the shower towels were small. So, the hotel should invest in larger pillows and towels to improve the experience of the guests. Lastly, the room had cardboard tea & coffee cups and plastic water ‘glasses’. This should also be changed to China and real glass, so that the guests feel they’re actually staying in the nicer hotel that was initially advertised to them. Hopefully, the hotel management can recognise the improvements mentioned in this review. With these improvements my review would certainly be 5 stars. Overall, I would recommend staying at this hotel as it is well priced compared to many and the staff are very accommodating with great location.

Stole my headphones and when told them they gone missing out room had nothing happen didn’t care at all nothing was reported didn’t check cameras and was rude throughout my stay. Absolute rats stay away

There are many things that lets you come back again and again to this hotel, first of all the lovely and professional staff; they would spend hours with you to help you with your needs specially Mirjam in the reception. The location is perfect, just 2 minutes walking to train-bus station and just cross the station you will be in the heart of the town of Zaandam where you can find lots of shops for everything and tens of restaurants... However the restaurant in the hotel is really good, there delicious, many options food lets you clean your plate :)

Stayed here for a few nights recently. Rooms clean and tidy. Helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was continental style but also had bacon, eggs etc. The hotel is 2 stops away from centre of Amsterdam by train and the train station is a 5 minute walk from hotel. We purchased a 3 day travel ticket from station when we landed which you can use on the trains and trams, worked out really well. There is a convenience store opposite the hotel. It was nice to stay just outside of Amsterdam central and it was so easy to get there when we did go to visit. There are restaurants and shops close by to hotel, even had a Primark ;) Would definitely stay here again if I ever return.

Ideal location. Not far from the train station. Rooms are a little small. No mirror across from dressing table so makes getting ready a little more difficult. Fresh towels when asked. Tea making facilities good however we drink English breakfast tea. None of this was available.

This hotel is in the outskirts of Amsterdam requiring a 10 minute train ride which costs around €3.10 or €5.30 from the airport. It's a short 8 minute walk to the hotel from the train. 24hr check in is available. The room we had was a double with a very spacious bed and excellent bathroom facilities. The rooms are small but adequate for 2 adults. Unfortunately our room didn't have a light in the ceiling so it felt a little dark even with all other lights on. Our friends had a different room and theirs was much brighter with a ceiling light included. The WiFi didn't connect for us whilst there even when we checked with staff they stated it was working but couldn't understand why. I heard other guests expressing similar issues. Breakfast was included with our rate and it was very good with plenty of options. Whilst you are further out of Amsterdam it's a great hotel if you don't mind walking with staff very friendly and the premises clean. The bar closed at 11pm each evening

Everyone wants to book this hotel, please stop! You can book "Zaan Hotel Amsterdam zaandam" which is only a dozen meters away. It is in the same location, but it is cheaper and more advanced! It's a 4-star hotel with a higher rating and a few dozen euros cheaper! !

This place is 3-5 min walk from Zaandam station. It is very convenient if you want to arrive late from Amsterdam. The neighborhood is quite. The double room with common bath is perfect for family. Good breakfast options

Me and my partner stayed here for a short break in Amsterdam. We initially had problems with our flights as our outbound flight was cancelled and rescheduled to a different day. The staff at this hotel were very understanding and it was no trouble rescheduling the dates of our stay to align with our new flights. The hotel itself is a very short walk (< 10 mins) from the centre of Zaandam which is a lovely, quirky little place which we wouldn’t have seen if we’d stayed elsewhere. There is also a train station in Zaandam which will get you to Amsterdam Centraal in about 10 mins. A return ticket is around €6 per person so it’s absolutely worth staying a little further away and saving your money as opposed to paying extra to be in the city centre. The rooms are clean and contemporary with all the essentials. There is a little supermarket opposite the hotel too, should you need anything else. We didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant so can’t comment on the food but we did have a couple drinks in the bar one evening which was pleasant and the service was good. I would highly recommend this place. Thank you to the staff for their flexibility and understanding.

Room nice and clean, every day fresh bedding and towels if you want your room cleaned. The lighting in the room wasn't great, but I believe it was to be more eco-friendly. There was a local supermarket, McDs, and a few shops and restaurants nearby, which was nice and useful. Although just outside of Amsterdam Centraal, it was easy enough to catch the sprinter into the main city, which took between 6-13 minutes. Around €5 return ticket. Do not get a ticket for the metro as it will not work on the sprinter train.

We stayed for 3 nights in January. Place is very clean. Breakfast was delicious. Loved the coffee machine!

Hotel is great! Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pleasant and fresh, Only down side is the WiFi on the top floor (5th floor) doesn't work very well but this can be fixed!! I would highly recommend staying here as it's situated in a great location next to Zaandam train station.

Staff were all excellent, friendly, and would go out their way to help. Inside the hotel, it was clean and comfortable. Outside was a little disappointing, views of a car park and no sun in the evening.

Workers in this hotel are racists. I did a booking and they told me I can’t checkin because they don’t like my look so I had to pay 200€ to cancel the booking. Not acceptable behaviour.

Nice place to stay.. Did have to keep going to reception for tea bags etc as never got them, the room service phone didn't work... The room was quite dark even with both lights on overall it was a nice stay.

Reception staff were very unpleasant and rude, dismissive. Food is okay but overpriced. Last year, it was lovely. This year? So very different. Will not stay here again and would not recommend.

It's a great place since it's near the trainstation...easy to commute around. Breakfast just not much offered. Was overall okay.

178€ for one night ! We got nothing, but dirty a dirty, broken tables, broken desks, apart from shampoo you get no other toiletry items. The bed was with hairs from guests before. Will never come back again and yes you shouldn’t visit this place. Horrible 😰

Absolute perfect place to stay for when visiting Zaandam. The hotel is just next to the train station Zaandam where you get sprinter, which brings you in 10 to 15 minutes directly to Amsterdam Central. The hotel comes with big and clean rooms and a very good and easy service. Check-in and Check-out are fast and easy as well. Breakfast is the only area where I see potentials for improvements, as the setup and selection is just basic Standard.

There was an odor in our room that we tried to get rid of by opening the window and spraying the room down. It masked it for a bit. Possibly the smell was stale smoke. The area carpet in the room had some questionable spots on it - one looked like blood so we took the bath mat and covered it up. The restaurant was only open for breakfast but we did not pay for breakfast so didn't use it. The staff were friendly. The area after dark didn't seem very safe.

Employees are very kind and our room was nice and big, but unfortunately not very Clean. From the beginnig was sugar on the window board from the guests before us and also during our stay the room was not really cleaned Up. The bathroom floor was not wiped, the mirror not cleaned, the carpet not vacuum cleaned etc. Breakfast was okay, but often no bread, no Cups, no dishes anymore, because not enough staff. Our stay was not really bad, but also far away from beeing good. If we come again to Amsterdam we'll choose another Hotel.

A fair price with more than sufficient rooms. Clean, updated and comftable. Great bar/restaurant. Friendly and polite personell. Enough to get for a nice private evening in your room.

It’s quite out of manage, first time I met a room with a broken door lock. All the staffs are very reluctant to even answer to you except Maria the housekeeper. You could find better choices around the station

Upon arrival we were very supised and disappointed in having to pay additional city tax for our package holiday. No hand soap in the room, sadly only paper cups. The hotel in a good location close to the train station, trains to Central Station 5 minutes superb service. There is a local supermarket close by, we brought fresh bread and pastries ate them on the train for breakfast. Finding the hotel, when leaving the station turn right, walk over the railway bridge, the path wideneds look to your right there is a lift plus escalator and stairs, take these at the bottom turn right and walk straight, the hotel is in front of you.

All the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating, especially to our group of coworkers. Several of us needed to check in earlier than usual and they did their best to get us rooms ASAP. The kitchen staff also worked with our food allergies which was a first for me (as someone with a milk allergy I'm used to simply eating salad not being cooked my own special soup!). I loved my room, the staff, the service, and the location and hope I get a chance to come back.

Great position 400 mt to Zaandam station and Zaandam is a very nice village that is worth a visit. 10 min to Amsterdam by train. We experienced a bit of confusion at the check in. The hotel is new and comfortable. We had the family room which was spacious and clean for 3 persons. Also the bathroom was big. Suggestions: I would add a light in the main room as in the evening there was a lack of brightness. Minibar was empty, this is not possible in a suite of a 4* hotel. Breakfast was very good, I would suggest to add more fresh fruit and vegetables. Doors in common areas close to the reception are heavy and hard to push this should be improved. More towels in the bathroom would be appreciated. Overall I would advise this hotel as it was a very nice stay!

I came here to accompany friends who were guests at the hotel. The public areas and rooms were very clean, with pretty fresh decor. The staff were kind. There is plenty of information about the surrounding area available in the lobby. The location is good since it is very near the station, with a frequent train service to Amsterdam (12 minutes) and walking distance to the town center. There is parking available and the room key operates the barrier.

Nice warm welcoming upon check in. The room was great and clean. Nice bar, good breakfast, parking provided, friendly staff. Overall great and had a nice stay.
