We was so hungry that we came here 🤣! One day in Amsterdam and I think that all people are very friendly and polite! Service is quick and they noticed their customers. the tables are too small for eating (on the terrace). Food was okay! Wines are not good!

Nice cozy cafe. The atmosphere is great and the food and drinks are more affordable than the rest of cafés and restaurants around. When we ordered their (hot) chocolate milk, it was made with water though.

We had lunch at this pub, sirting outside with our doggy and loved it. The food was great. I had the goat's cheese salad and my partner the fish and chips. The salad came with two slices of bread, a delicius whole-wheat one and a white one, accompanied by garlic butter. The dressing was nice and the mushrooms lovely! Th fish was also tasty and fresh and the fries with mayo to die for. The service was very fast, adept and friendly, which surprised us given how crowded the place was. In summary, a well-run place with very lovely pub food.

Location and seating is great, service is also exceptionally friendly. However, this review is primarily about the food, which was embarrassing. I've been here on multiple occasions, and had some of the bar snacks (bitterballen), which can't really go wrong anyway. We decided to try the food for dinner. We ordered a spare ribs and a steak with peppercorn sauce. Both were of extremely poor quality. The ribs were dry and barely contained meat, the steak was supposed to be medium but served raw. When I asked, the staff was very friendly and swift, and indicated they would "swap it". A few minutes later I get THE SAME STEAK back, which they simply tossed back in the pan. Crazy. For the price paid it's honestly embarrassing. Stick with drinks and bar snacks at this place and you'll be fine.

Nice bar right next to the canal. Not a huge drink menu, but has all basic stuff. We didn’t have food here, just drinks: a glass of Rioja and Negroni, both were nice. Our server was super helpful and friendly, top star service! This place is good for a casual drinks and people watching. Will come back for sure!

I went here on a busy Friday evening with a friend and we had a lovely time. There's "terrasje" outside seating, inside seating and "serre" seating which is a covered seating with a clear view of the outside so you can enjoy the view but not be exposed to the weather There's a variety of options on the menu brews, and bites/borrelhapjes that go well with a few drinks. There's als a lunch menu and a dinner menu I chose the kipspies with pindasaus which is chicken with peanut sauce and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The serve staff also was friendly and gave you the time to enjoy talking and dining without any rush The prices vary from low to mid and there's plenty of variety. The location and atmosphere can't be beat.

The six of us sat down here and had dinner. Everyone found something that worked. The service was courteous. We enjoyed it and would be happy to come back.

Great to sit here and people watch on a Sunday lunchtime. The club sandwich was remarkably good, the French fries had some kick to them, which was a pleasant surprise and the service excellent.

Popped in for lunch after the Amsterdam Dungeon. Sat inside. Food was good, but drinks were better. Had a few good beers on draught. Full bar. Seating was a little tight, and service was the greatest, but overall an enjoyable experience. I would return. Didn’t have hugely high hopes based on the outside, but it exceeded my expectations.

Great place to stop for a quick bite. My friend had to try the Dutch snack so we stopped here. Very friendly and quick service. Good food. My coffee was excellent. Visit here if you're passing through!

Simply said, this is (IMHO) one of the top five pubs in the world. It's not a wow experience, just comfortable, friendly, great range of beers, great food, great atmosphere. Do yourself a favour and check it out.

Great location for people watching and soaking up the atmosphere. We stopped for lunch and shared the tomato soup, a toasted ham and cheese sandwich, and an order of fries. The toasty was delicious and paired perfectly with the tomato soup!

This restaurant was delish. My niece got the chicken salad with the basil dressing and while she didn't really care for the dressing the salad greens were amazing. Both my husband and I had the fish and chips. The French fries were cooked perfuly and the chicken was flaky and outside crisp. I normally am not a huge fish fan but this was really good. The service was great prompt and respectful

This pub was our absolute favorite in Amsterdam! The staff was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to take care of us. The atmosphere was upbeat and filled with locals having a good time. Highly recommend on your visit and stays here.

I stumbled upon this place a bit by accident at first, and then I kept coming back very much on purpose during my visits to Amsterdam, because it's just a very very cool place to hang out in. I didn't try the foods, but they have some really interesting beer choices and amazingly friendly staff. The tables outside are by the canal and the vibe in the evening is so charming. I recommend this place a lot!

We sat outside for a light meal and drinks - the atmosphere is excellent and super relaxing watching the people pass by. I had a chicken salad that was surprisingly good. We had bar snack for the table and these were the usual snacks. They offer a tasting menu of their beers which was very cool. The service was a bit slow but not unusual for Amsterdam. Overall I would recommend this spot for a relaxing place to have a drink and people watch

Amazing place fit for terrace and indoor, and also the craft beers are amazing- especially the Witte Antonia. Staff has always been very helpful. One of the best places in Amsterdam to grab a beer or even a burger/nachos!

We had lunch there today and the food was good - not awesome, but fair and honest. Would eat there again. We had the falafel sandwich and the chicken one and they were both tasty. Beers good, of course!

Great location for people watching, good food and good beer. Would love to come back. I sat outside with a book and enjoyed the great weather (not provided by the restaurant 😉).

We haven’t even tried the food yet, but already are big fans! Ended up here by accident, after a very bad customer experience at another restaurant 5 minutes away. What a joy to be welcomed with a warm and friendly smile, and great customer service. Just got the first part of our order: Bierbrood with Blonde Barbierboter. Delicious! (Added 10 min later:) and the same for the Fish & Chips. 😋

Great for local amsterdam Dutch cafe. Outdoor particularly nice. Tram drives by every once in a while. Service is fast, friendly, and highly recommend getting a beer or wine with some Dutch bar snacks.

Do not recommend going here when it's busy. Waited half an hour for food only to receive one dish wrong and another dish missing. Solution was to offer a 'free drink on the house' while waiting (which we declined)... we told them to just scrap the dish from the order altogether then and suddenly 5 minutes later it was ready. Food was ok. Do not order the fries. Won't be coming again.

I can definitely recommend the huge selection of beers and the Moscow Mule was very good as well. They also have some snacks, sandwiches and burgers.

Great Cafe in a great location. Staff were super friendly and the beer selection could not be better. We got the spicy nachos and burger and were happy. I definetly recommend the ipa on tap or the home brewed trippel

De Brabantse Aap is a place where you can enjoy great food, house-brewed beers, and a cozy atmosphere. You can either drop by to warm up after a cold day in the winter or enjoy the canal view outside in the summer. The staff are very friendly and will give you recommendations, but you can’t really go wrong with the menu here. Pro-tip: try their homemade bread!
