If you desire exquisite food and a five star meal this restaurant is not to be missed! The best meal you will have this year, and was one of the most memorable and amazing meals of my life. We had the eight course meal with wine pairings and it was incredible! Every course a new surprise and delicacy! The chef is immensely talented and the wine was thoughtfully selected to accent the incredible food! Each physical plate is also thoughtful and selected to provide a wow factor hard to describe. To top it off the service is kind, friendly, warm and inviting. Do not miss your chance to dine at this exceptional restaurant fit for royalty! If you love food, and creativity this is the place for you!

It was an amazing evening. All dishes were delicious and prepared thoughtfully. Big kudos to the kitchen staff who created art on our plates. Waiters were very kind, experienced and welcoming. Atmosphere is also unique in a historical building in the heart of Amsterdam. It definitely made a difference among other places we’ve been. Highly recommended

What a beautiful beautiful location! They also did an amazing job with the Christmas decorations as well. The staff is excellent and even more importantly the food is delicious and very well prepared. Good and varied wine menu available as well.

A modern cuisine featuring restaurant that is embedded with history in Amsterdam. Order: 8 course meal with wine pairing (I forgot to take the pic of the sweetbread) Silver and gold spiegel Michelin special. Location: Heart of Amsterdam, close to central station and basically everywhere in the city. Beautiful restaurant and the patio dining was fabulous. 5/5 Service: Our server was charming and delightful.. impeccable service. He put up with my state of progressive inebriation with every passing course and wine pairing. In my defense, I had been drinking before the restaurant. 5/5 Value: high end restaurant. Not cheap. Expensive relatively for many restaurants . However, the quality of the presentation and ingrdients and service makes it fair for value..the discounted special price made it a steal. 5/5. Still 200 euros per person. Keep that in mind. Taste: the chef is very talented. He managed to create culinary masterpieces. The wine pairings were thoughtful as they complemented the dishes very well. 5/5 Highlights of the night included the rib eye of beef very rich and flavourful, langoustine (which was cooked to perfection) and the first dessert. The milk and honey dish. Ice cream and honey crisps with an almond cake. It was light yet sweet. I enjoyed the coolness of the ice cream to balance out the heaviness of the previous course (rib eye). However, the best dish for me was the mussels. It was the star of the show. Perfect dish, flawless execution. One of the best dishes I ever had. Overall: outstanding meal. I have no complaints of this restaurant. A brilliant meal with some of my best friends whom I consider to be as close as family made the remarkable meal even more memorable. 5/5

The best place! Such amazing food and great service experience here. I _strongly recommend_ this place to everyone who enjoy amazing and innovative dishes. Perfect to visit as couple or group of friends. Ambiance of restorant represents authentic Dutch spirit and culture. Any dish there - genius piece of art. Beautiful and delicious. I found taste as very impressive and memorable. As well as plates - super creative and cute. My absolute favourite: dessert! No words to describe: it should be tried. It might looks "simple", but suuuch various and at the same time full of harmony symphony of tastes. Also I enjoyed much eating vegetables and duck. That ball, covered by fancy feather - such mind-blowing bullet of pleasure ;) We ordered 5 courses menu and was perfectly full and satisfied. I was entirely positively impressed by everything! 🤗 Next time travel in Amsterdam - I'll visit this place again. And try to be as hungry as possible to order more courses menu: I tempted to try their veal 🥰

We had a fabulous time last night: a gorgeous, unique location full of history and allure, excellent hospitality and sincerity that is hard to find, and then the absolutely stunning dishes with combinations of texture, flavours, colours that are the stars of the show and bring a tear to the eye of gourmets like me. The staff was incredibly kind and we got to celebrate my husband's birthday in a festive manner, which we highly appreciate. For fine Dutch cuisine, this is the place to be. We can't wait to return, thank you Silveren Spiegel, for a fantastic culinary experience!

Romantic, upscale and a bit expensive. Worth it if you’re looking for a really romantic date. Very nice for a good dinner out. We had the tasting menu which was both beautiful and excellently prepared. The building is really old and looks like it’s falling forward but that just added to the charm. Inside they had beautiful old delft tiles around the hearth which I love (see photo). I highly recommend it for an upscale nice romantic dinner. I’d go there again for an anniversary or some other occasion. It would be an awesome place for a proposal too!

A beautiful dining experience from start to finish. Lovely service, beautiful setting and a delightful tasting menu. We were surprised by the gorgeous detail in each dish, and the fun incorporated to the dishes for the festive season. Flavours were superb, and the level of technique is very high. We decided this was our best meal of 2023! I especially loved the milk and honey dessert. Thank you de Silveren Spiegel team!

Our visit to De Silveren Spiegel was unlike any other dining experience we have ever had. We were welcomed by the friendliest staff who took our coats and bags before seating us at a beautifully arranged table in this wonderfully historic setting. After a brief introduction to the history of the the venue we were presented with 3 of the most incredible amuse bouche which excited both in design and flavour. We opted for the 5 course lunch menu with a cheese course for dessert and we could not believe what we were presented with every step of the way. Each course was so beautifully constructed into works of culinary art. The look of this food was so exciting that we avoided looking at other tables as to not ruin the surprise of the dish that we were about to be presented with. My wife and I were blown away be the flavours we experienced, flavours that are so incredibly complex and pleasing that they are indescribable in this short review. Each course was described and explained and our waiters were as enthused to present them to us as we were to receive them. If you are ever in town this venue is not to be missed.

Perfect restaurant! We celebrate there our anniversary and at the end of our dinner we got little fancy surprise that was very very welcoming. Food is fantastic and overall atmosphere is tremendous. Wish to visit it again.

We went there for my wife's birthday. The settling is super charming--a historic building--and we sat upstairs with a view of the square outside (and a bit of a slope to the floor). Service was amazing, starting with a welcome at the door from the owner and continuing with our waiter, Christoph (spelling?), who took great care of us for the rest of the evening. We selected the seven-course chef's menu with wine parings. We've sampled many prix fixe meals over the years, and this may be one of the best we've had. While sometimes an individual course can be just okay, this night each course was excellent and stood on its own. The wine pairings were also great. We learned that the chef was the owner's son and took time to give him thanks before we left. It was such a great evening, and we plan to return when the menu turns over later this spring.

The restaurant is located in a charming old Dutch building, nice atmosphere inside. The dishes are a treat for the eyes, fine dining small portions but decently delicious. A lot of attention to smallest of details in every dish. Staff were friendly and efficient. Overall good experience!

Absolutely mind-blowing experience! Each bite was truly a culinary climax, each course was a chapter in magnificent story of your time in Amsterdam. Book this place early as open reservations are rare (for good reason). This is by far the best 1-Michelin star restaurant I have been to out of the six that I have ever visited! This place should seriously get another star! Staff was excellent and very multilingual.

Great innovative dinner in a cozy 400 years old building. Especially meat dishes are tasty. Presentation impeccable. Winepairing not suprising but trustworthy.

Situated in a historic building in the centre of Amsterdam, the restaurant has a very cozy ambiance and vibe. We did a 5-course Silvester Lunch with wine pairing on the last day of 2023, and the experience was excellent. The food was great with wines that perfectly matched every dish and the service staff professional and friendly at the same time. I definitely recommend this place.

The booking was easy.. since I mentioned we are vegetarian, got a prompt call from the resturant to enquire if we are okay w mushrooms n eggs. We arrived at the restaurant 15 mins early to our reservation time. The dinner commenced with the chef's entrée, a trio of tasters that set the stage for what is to come. I loved the third taster, a unique small ball-shaped dish with spiced liquid filled into it. As it melted in the mouth, it released delicious flavours, serving as a palate cleanser before starting the courses! Each items were disabled out w local ingredients, I guess. The portions were small and right-sized. The highlight of the meal was the fifth course, the main dish, the flavors were bold yet balanced, and the presentation was a visual delight. I have a sweet tooth so a bit biased on the desserts 😅 I enjoyed the two desserts, each was delicious, well presented and flavour full… but not like a dessert from an exclusive/speciality dessert shops. The staff were attentive, and knowledgeable, and contributed significantly to the overall dining experience.

Best dining experience I have ever had. The staff made you feel like family and were extremely professional. I never had an empty glass or dull moment during our dinner. The food was an explosion of flavor and culinary genius. Every bite was a was a journey, and paired with the sommelier’s wine choices we had a unparalleled experience. Definitely book ahead. This is not a walk in dining kind of place. As soon as you enter the doors gears in the kitchen start turning and every portion is crafted and cooked to order. Before we knew it we had been there 3 hours without realizing time had passed. Also, get a chefs choice pairing and meal. Don’t short yourself and get the 5 course, Get the full plate size to really enjoy the experience.

Me and my husband have been looking forward to visit de silveren spiegel for quite a few years now and I am so happy we went yesterday. It is amazing to enjoy a wonderful dinner in such a beautiful and historic house. The service was beyond excellent as was the food. The meal was an artistic journey of all senses. The courses were gorgeous and tasted divine. It was also really interesting to learn a little more about the history of the house from the knowledgeable staff, that made the evening even more perfect. I can not wait to visit again and to bring more family members with me!

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish: staff, food, atmosphere — all magnificent. You’ll pay plenty, but I don’t regret a bit of it. Totally memorable and delicious in every way. Can’t wait to return.

I have to be honest, I can't quite give this restaurant a full five stars. The presentation of the food was undeniably artistic, a visual feast for the eyes. However, when it came to taste, the dishes fell disappointingly flat. They lacked the depth of flavor that one would expect from such beautifully presented plates. Also, it truly puzzled me that a Michelin-starred restaurant would conclude the dining experience by serving tea in the form of tea bags.

Best meal in Amsterdam. Fantastic food, innovative, exciting flavours, magical presentation. This family owned business is amazing and has been around f100s of years. Yet food is modern and spectacularly presented. Tjis young chef is a magician!!

Easily rivalling Michelin star restaurants. Fantastic service, beautiful and very tasty dishes and an ambiance unique. They show that Amsterdam and Dutch cuisine exist and it is wonderful. Will certainly come back. My new favourite restaurant.

Where to begin. From the moment you walk in, to the moment you leave, it is spectacular. Truly a dining experience. Best yet, it feeds all of the senses. The food looks wonderful, smells wonderful, and taste wonderful. It’s hard to believe you get so much flavor from a tiny work of art. Not to mention the wait staff were great and accommodating.

Outstanding Dutch food in a cozy/romantic restaurant, intensively conveyed by the historic building, beautiful crockery and explanations by the very attentive service, which is determined to give every guest an individual, perfect experience. We had a six courses menu with (highly recommended) wine pairing. Since all food was high on flavor but low on carbs, we never felt full, always longing for more. My favorite dishes were the Dutch aged beef tartare with hollandaise sauce (see picture), the Dutch smoked eel and the sashimi-quality langoustine. Everything added up to be an outstanding culinary experience we'll remember for a long time. Be sure to have a reservation and be aware that this level of gastronomy isn't cheap.

The taste combinations in dishes were amazing. Whole restaurant experience was impressive - very friendly staff, beautiful serving, tasty food. I’d like to point out that I found meat dishes more matching my taste than sea food. Keep in mind that the smallest menu consists of minimum 5 courses, so you should spare around 2 hr for dinner.

It was well prepared and magnificently presented. Each dish was more creative than the last. Hands down the best dinner experience we have ever had-outdoing Michelin starred dinners we have attended! Thank you for a wonderful night!
