Beautiful interior, high ceilings, loved the light because of all the windows. Would definitely recommend the ravioli. The artichoke/ ricotta dip with pita was also very nice. If your visiting artis zoo or a museum close by I would for sure make a reservation here for a nice break. Only minor is that you pay 1€ for tap water, something I find strange in a country where tap water is free for everyone

Wonderful and affordable food at De Plantage. We sat down after visiting Artis Zoo next door, only 1 minute walk! The food here is tasty and high quality with reasonable prices. The ravioli was especially good to me. Pet and child friendly place with a nice interior here as well.

My experience was diner with family. Overall everyone enjoyed our evening. The location and atmosphere is a bit special and posh. Looks like some Eiffel building you can find in Paris. Food was really good, the lamb was the great choice. Service is ok, no complains. Price is a bit high for similar place in Amsterdam but you wont' regret it. Wine was also fine. So definitively a good recommandation.

The atmosphere and wine selection were the highlights of my meal. We went as a group of 7. The other couple absolutely loved their meal. They had the steak and and lamb for 2. My family had the steak (his was over cooked), tuna, and the ravioli. Pros: The lamb was the star of the show. Everything is presented beautifully. Beautiful setting Cons: One steak was over cooked while the other was not I had to ask for my wine 3 times before I received it. The rest of my table received their second drink before I received my first.

Excellent food, let down by slightly disinterested service. Our server seemed to want to be anywhere else. The lady who served our wine, however, was excellent. It was our first time trying natural wine and she talked us through it brilliantly, and it tasted exceptional. Cocktail menu was good, with some forgotten classics and new creations which tasted great.

Great historical spot for lunch.. we had lentils soup, fattoush salad, fatteh and shakshouka with Turkish meat. We also tried the churros for dessert.. everything was good & well presented. Beautiful location for a Sunday lunch with a Lebanese inspired menu!

We visited the restaurant last week while visiting in Amsterdam. The design is very impresive and the food and service are not lacking behind. Super recommended: starters: the ravioli dishes, both of them. Take the big portions, it will be gone in no time. Main: the meat meal for 2, was absolutely amazing. Just note that the main is not coming with a side dish other than a small salad. Might be worth to order separately.

During our family holiday in Amsterdam, we stumbled upon this remarkable place. Despite not having a reservation, we were promptly seated. The service was accompanied by genuine smiles, creating a fantastic atmosphere. The food surpassed expectations; every dish we ordered was truly fabulous. A must-visit place if you're in Amsterdam.

The service is really slow but food was quite good. We ordered the lamb and it was delicious but we had to ask four times to get water.

We had sweets & hot teas of different flavors. Waiter was a bit sloppy & forgetful. He did not repeat the order to ensure accuracy. When I asked him to, my hunch was correct, he mistakenly was wrong in recording the order.

As I know how good the service usually is, this time around I was disappointed. I would say, when a service time ends, let’s say lunch time ends, and your guests are still there, make sure to appoint at least a server that “wants” to check that table. After 15:30 till 16:30 no one asked us a single time if we were doing okay, I called a server over multiple times to ask for more bread, water, drink etc and guess what? We never received the bread, never received the water. It’s a pity because the first server that was there till 15:30 was amazing!! And when he went on a break we felt lost.

A birthday party is ruined. The establishment is unfairly popular and doesn't live up to expectations. It's hard to get in, but in fact you get poor service and messy toilets. The room is cold, but they don't offer blankets nor adjust to a comfortable temperature. The waiters do not recommend dishes and are sceptical of foreigners, the menu is not intuitively clear. An absolute surprise for the birthday girl was the presence of long women's hair in the dish, although the waiter said that it was the wool of a real lamb. But we can see that it is hair (picture attached) and a bug that we found in meat. They apologized sparingly and removed the dish from the bill. Overall service rating of the place is 2/10. 1 point for the sparkling wine, which we chose ourselves. 1 point for the strachatella, but now not sure about the quality of the dish. Not recommended for a visit.

Lovely restaurant set in lovely surroundings. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Particularly loved the chocolate mouse for dessert which was light and full of flavour. Would definitely recommend a visit if you are ever in Amsterdam

I like the interior of the restaurant, big and so there’s much space , the food was ok, the fish soup I had was a bit salty and nothing extraordinary, the main course lamb was to share between two, morocco/middle eastern style , the taste and smell was a bit too strong even if there was much herbs on it. The service wasn’t so good , there was one waitress to look after the area , it was hard to get her attention and also she never looked at our side when she was walking around , guess she was inexperienced so it was a bit frustrating to have to wait and try to get her attention whenever we needed service . The desserts were nice though , the chocolate mousse was amazing. Other than that, nothing too particular about this place .

5/5 for food 5/5 for location and restaurant ambience 3/5 for service The restaurant is situated in Plantage park and very pretty and elegant as a restaurant. Matching up to this was the food both in terms of quality and taste. Where things go downhill was the service, as I’m not sure whether the waiting staff were overworked or just generally not as accommodating particularly the bar staff. They were not rude but there was an “air” of not wanting to serve you.

The location is really unique in the artis zoo of amsterdam and so beautiful, as you can see! The starters were really so delicious! We ordered the two types ravioli (with beetroot and with boar ragout), small and big, the curried fattoush and the fatteh syrian salad. While for the main courses: - for the “albacore tuna in sesame crust” we expected more than three pieces of tuna for 24.5€ but especially not the combination with the riso pasta w/ cheese (that in Italy is used only for the babies) extra cooked and the italian tomatoes sauce w/ capers; - the lamb w/ all the veggies instead was really good. Compared, I understand 24.75€/ person for the lamb but not 24.5€ for three pieces of tuna. Dessert and cheese were delicious also! The staff was professional but nothing more (for me the staff is kind when talks with the clients, suggests what to eat, the wine to pair and tells something about every food ordered). They forgot to bring the bread and oil but once asked, they brought them. Will we come back? Probably yes because look at it: is awesome! Sure for a drink, and maybe to try another menu at the restaurant!

I came back 2 years later and the atmosphere was just as nice as the first time around. Lunch time at De Plantage is really great. The price to quality ratio is excellent (can't speak for dinner service). Food was seasoned well, and arrived quickly. My favourite was definitely the fava bean ravioli with pickled radish - a really unexpectedly nice combination. Service/staff good. Overall, a really nice location to have a relaxed and satisfying lunch with friends and family.

It’s an elegant setting for a special occasion. Yes it’s big but well laid out with a separate bar area and the staff were great. Bistro style menu but done very well. Ravioli good and the lamb leg for two was fantastic.

The place is very beautiful, the dishes are very good, and the wine list is exceptional! Slight downside for the atmosphere, there is a little lack of music.

A pretty cool restaurant with nice outdoor seating and a cool indoor area. I had the ravioli with fennel sausage and it was very good. The muscles in fish soup was good but a bit too much of a fishy taste for me. Toasted pita ham and cheese was good as well, along with the churros desert.

We waited for long time before getting a waitress to take our orders. We ordered water and a bottle of wine that we received after a while. After almost finishing the wine without food, we complained with the waitress and she apologised as there was an issues with our order and they were making our food by then. When the food finally arrived it was delicious (still not worthy of the long waiting time though). Waited again beofr ordering dessert and finally the team leader approached us apologising for the delay and offering us the desserts on the house. That's the only reason why I'm putting 3 stars (we didn't get so lucky with another place). The place is gorgeous and the food is good, so I still suggest the restaurant, if you don't get bad luck with the waitress/kitchen.

Beautiful place essentially at the zoo near the big bird cage. Food was great. Wife had the pork neck and i had the steak. Both were very nice. Service was really slow but it was a hang out for the evening place anyway. Really great way to spend the evening. Great place for a date. This was actually the plantage restaurant.

Place is very nice, but the service is really slow. We stood up in the hostess spot for about 10 minutes and not one waiter stopped to seat us to out table (even though plenty of them were walking around us). I had to reach out to someone to see if they could help and finally showed us to our table. We finished our plates, not one waiter asked us about our food or took our plates, 30 minutes after we finished our plates were still on our table. Food was goos, specially the oysters. Had very high expectations of this place.

Lovely restaurant and great staff. Fast, efficient and the menu is not bad just very pure. Food is excellent and I love the drinks and cocktail moments. Make a reservation if visit at a later moment (evening). Personally I love to have a lunch in these historical buildings. Great light and view of the Artis park. Nice decoration, and when you prefer to work a while. Also this is possible to do. Enjoy!

The interior and exterior is very lovely. Tried the lamb which was a little dry, the sides were super tasty. The wine selection is decent and the deserts are absolutely good. Above all I wanna highlight the lightning fast and professional service of the staff. Overall we had a great experience and will decide come back again.

Lovely place next by the artis - the zoo. I love inside interior, with a high ceiling and clean design. Food is great . We had a slow cooked lamb that come with spicy /sweet figs, grilled zucchini and rise. Side dish are not needed. Wine per glass are from 5-7eur, they have a solid wine list. Service is nice but they keep forgetting our drinks and we will wait for a long time. Personally I was coming here many time and love coming back. Outside terrace is nice with a view of Flamingos. Thank you

The vibe was great. Staff were doing their best, it was a great atmosphere mix with families, couples, kids and coworkers. Abit pricey but good food. Thank you guys for making my birthday great 🥂 *the cake was from us, but you pay for the plate like 4€ per person!

De Plantage has everything you need for a great dinner with friends and family: friendly staff, delicious food, fast service, beautiful location with flamingos in the back garden. Prices are appropriate for Amsterdam. Ps. It is also dog friendly

My favourite place to eat in Amsterdam. Such good food, great staff, the location is fantastic and you have an open view on the Artis floor zoo. It’s a wonderful space and design. I really recommend to taste their appletaart, it is to die for.

A must visit in Amsterdam! Beautiful building, great atmosphere, and delicious cocktails and food. The Earl Gray martini is so unique. We ordered the roasted lamb and the pork belly as main courses, and had the carrot soup and bufala entrees. Will definitely be back!

Great ambiance and friendly staff. Very fast service and the food is well prepared. Unfortunately my Tuna was killed by the tomato sauce. My selections for the night were not happy. However the choices my wife made were very good (if I had them, probably it wouybe 4 instead of 3). If you love fish as I do, don't go for the tuna with tomato sauce. In sum, it's a fantastic and cozy place but the results is not uniform. Maybe I'm being pretentious, but I was disappointed by the results. The food is good, but not as great as I expected 😥

Food was OK, for the price you paid you always expect something better. Good enough to one time visit only. There are better places for the same price.

1st time visit, while waiting to visit the Amsterdam Zoo next door. We sat outside at the back, away from the street. Great ambiance, friendly crew, nice outdoor sitting area. Enjoyed a fresh orange juice & mint tea.

Summer oysters to start and a delicious red fish fillet with black rice as mains. Great value for money. Suitable for large groups (we were 7 people). Excellent service.

An elegant redesign of an old filmstudio to a restaurant of class, unfortunately the meny does not cope with the transformation and the service is lacking professionally staff. The pork dish where way to salty and cocktails not top of the notch. Though a strong 3!
