In
existence
for
over
half
a
century,
t
Kuyltje
stands
testimony
to
the
speciality
sandwiches
so
loved
by
the
Dutch.
With
only
4
and
a
half
by
5
metres
of
floor
space,
this
must
be
one
of
Amsterdam's
smallest
sandwich
shops,
but
it
ranks
among
the
very
best.
It's
current
owner
is
a
former
butcher,
as
reflected
by
the
superb
cuts
of
meat,
as
well
as
fish
and
cheese.
The
huge
selection
on
offer
is
positively
bewildering
in
such
a
small
space,
with
its
white
tiled
walls
and
marbled
counter.
It
is
a
favourite
breakfast
and
lunch
haunt
of
busy
executives
and
staff
from
the
area's
numerous
offices,
who
compete
for
table
space
to
enjoy
their
food
while
reading
the
daily
news.
Prior
to
ordering
your
selected
filling,
you
are
offered
the
choice
of
freshly
baked
rolls
which
can
be
either
hard
or
soft,
brown
or
white
and
with
or
without
butter.
There
are
classic
Dutch
favourites
such
as
Tataar
with
onions,
Half
Om,
Filet-Americain,
warm
smoked
sausage,
Pastrami
and
Zeeuws-Spek,
various
young
and
old
Dutch
cheeses
and
many
different
variations
of
bacon
and
roast
beef
combinations.
There's
no
need
for
confusion
as
the
friendly
owner
and
his
wife
are
more
than
happy
to
give
a
detailed
explanation.
