Great design pieces, each room was quiet different from the one to the next. Some rooms should have more warnings about lighting or noise for those who may have issues with it. Interesting and at times interactive. Large rooms and easy to explore.

I bet much enjoyed this museum and it's modern and contemporary art pieces. There was both a rebelliousness and thoughtfulness to the curated installations. Many of the artists re-envisioned uses for man-made materials, and others created new worlds and some were even interactive.

This is a great modern art museum. The special exhibits it has are the the best staged and designed exhibits. I am educated, entertained, and informed every time that I visit. It has its own collection on display and visiting art - all displayed in a variety of room to enormous to intimate.

I really liked how they designed the museum and exhibition. It was interesting and related to what each artworks means to be. Just took one star out bc my personal preference didn‘t fit so well to the temporary exhibition which was main at the moment, unfortunately.

Fantastic museum with a very reasonable entry fee. Tons of incredible art that spans across decades. Plenty of pieces caused me to sit in awe and there were several that made me sit and think. Just an FYI, the gift shop area is closed off on Monday/Tuesday. But there's also an area where one can store their coats!

This museum, beginning shortly, will add an extra admission fee, including for Museumkaart holders, and for certain expositions. This might be an added barrier to visit this museum. So, is this worth a visit? The stedelijk museum takes you on a tour of artistic expression from the Netherlands from 1900 till now. Mixed in, are temporarily art exhibitions. The art is varied and there is always something for anyone that catches the eye. I particularly loved the Martin Wong exposition and the information about his life. I particularly liked his deaf hand gesture paintings that became his signature in his art. The rooms are big and bright although seating is limited for those who are less mobile

Definitely not my kind of museum.. please consider going here only if you're in to very modern art and video type arts. I thought it would be fine, but didn't like it at all..

One of the best and better known museums of modern and contemporary art in the world. A must see for anyone interested in modern art, both for the important permanent collection and for the very well curated changing temporary exhibitions. Don’t miss the Dutch modernists, the minimalist art room or the impressive enormous Matisse cutout. I have to say I’m not keen on the new extension: totally out of place, it blocks the view of the old building, it’s already dated,…

Fascinating expositions of contemporary art. Lots of interactive objects. Quite some rooms where one can sit down and just let the surrounding art to sink in. “Youth” might be the most peculiar yet fascinating exposition I have seen to this day.

LOVED this museum. The installations are amazing, the wall text is incredibly informative and an excellent read. I especially loved the Modern show - they connected all the dots in such an in-depth, thoughtful - even provocative - way. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Modern art is always hard to like. Just have to go through a lot to find some hidden gems which one can immediately connect to. A good museum to visit as part of a bigger package but wouldn't recommend it individually.

I think this museum was so rich in art. There was a lot of interactive art. I really enjoyed my time here. It was not as busy as the other museums around, and this made the experience so much more enjoyable. Bathrooms were clean. I did not have to buy a ticket or reserve a time online. I did have to check my bags at the front, but everything was returned to me with no problems. I hope to come back soon and see what new wonderful pieces are available to see. There is a book and souvenir store inside of the building as well.

A nice art museum which has different exhibits from different artists. If you hold museum card, it is a free museum and you can experience different artists arts. Actually there are contemporary, and interactive art sections as well that you kid also might enjoy it

The Stedelijk Museum is larger than it seems. We thought it would only take an hour or so to get through it h everything and it ended up taking over 2 hours going to the whole place. We did try read most of the descriptions so if you’re in a hurry and don’t feel the need to understand every single piece you can probably see everything in an hour. The book store is more generic and I didn’t see anything specific to the Stedelijk.

I’m not a huge fan of art nor do I know much about art but my partner and I decided to visit the Stedelijk Museum when we were visiting Amsterdam. In the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam you can discover and experience modern and contemporary visual art and design. We were really impressed by how well everything was displayed and how clean the museum was. There was plenty of staff walking around and there was lots of art to see and a lot of variety. We used the audio guided tour to help us understand more about the art as we walked around. The artworks and exhibitions change regularl on the ground floor and first level of the Stedelijk Museum. We thoroughly enjoyed museum, especially having a go in the pinball wizard lab!

The exhibitions are good but the price is so high! I spent 3 hours in there and couldn't finish the exhibition so I asked if I could come back the day after to finish and had to pay again... Besides, you can not visit the museum shop without paying 20€ for an entrance ticket. Apparently you need to be rich to have access to culture... insane

(Translated by Google) PREDATORY ART DOES NOT BELONG TO THE STEDELIJK MUSEUM Me and my spouse visited your facility monthly. We will deny this pleasure until your museum returns the previously looted art to the representatives of the then owner. Your institution has learned little or nothing from history. Your behavior may be even more reprehensible than that of the ROVERS at the time.

(Translated by Google) Give the painting back !! How can you keep a painting that you know is predatory? Then you do the same as when the Germans stole this. Even worse, you even ask for money to look at it. As a museum you can hide behind rules and procedures, at the end of the journey this painting remains predatory. Not a hair better in my view. This museum does not belong in Dutch culture in my opinion. Honesty comes first to me. (Original) Give the painting back!!

Very good museum, and incredibly complet. I saw designs, paintings, pictures, videos, from different decades and artistic movement. Audio guides are free, which improves the visit. The staff was really nice. Unfortunately for a lot of expo we couldn’t really understand what was going on, because audio guides aren’t covering the entire museum. However, we totally recommend you to go.

(Translated by Google) A very nice bathtub for a culture bath. Very very good permanent exhibition in the basement of modern Dutch art. Finally a museum where I do not see Andy Wharol. The collection shows all the insight of artists who really influenced and marked their times. In the old building are the temporary exhibitions. 3-hour visit made in September in the middle of Covid 19. So no one in the museum. During the usual period, reservations are required.

Most of the films are very interesting so i recommend you watch them. If you aren't interested in sitting for 5 min at a time to watch a short film get high and look at the artworks. Even though they are interesting while you are sober some of the pieces would be fun too look at high. Its hard to navigate the museum and its hard to understanding which text belongs to which piece.

The Stedelijk Museum boasts a diverse collection, from a range of artistic genres and styles. From modern masterpieces to cutting-edge contemporary works, the museum offers a delightful blend of art, design, and local talent. The inclusion of various mediums, including paintings, sculptures, installations, and multimedia works, adds depth and variety to the collection

My favourite museums in Amsterdam after Anne Frank. The exhibits are moving and gets you engaged. The the audio guide was nice. Toilets are clean but all gender neutral so it was a surprise. The lockers mechanism is confusing, that’s the only bad thing in the museum.

If you are a modern art lover, then this is the place for you! Great variety of galleries and artists. Make sure to have at least 3 hours ahead to enjoy the museum to the fullest! Plus No1: you get a personal audio-tour so you can walk around free exploring the exhibitions. Plus No2: There are written information as well next to each exhibit. Plus No3: A safe wardrobe department is available for you to leave your belongings before entering the exhibitions' area. Plus No4: The restroom is a safe space for EVERYBODY, no discrimination here.

A very big museums with an interesting collection. I appreciated the student discount because I don’t think that the museum is worth 20 € when you are not into modern art. I didn’t liked the film part of the museum, even I ( with a small background in art history) thought the films were not insteresting and very random. I listened and read everything but couldn’t figure things out but maybe this is the attempt of art. Many people just walked past them. The collection of Picasso, Monet etc. was more my thing and I really liked the assorted art collection such as feminism and environmentalism. A big plus is that u can buy the tickets at the location and don’t buy have to buy the tickets online!

Museum for advanced users. If one do not know the basics of contemporary art, then the collection may seem boring. There are a lot of similar works, so the overall impression is that contemporary art is hard to perceive. An audio guide may help to enjoy the museum.

What a fantastic museum that has so many rooms filled with amazing art. The free audio guides were perfect to provide information on the many artworks and also introducing the curators responsible for building the many different collections.

So I went to this museum solely for the purpose of visiting the Arabic calligraphy exhibition. Let me tell you, it was magnificent. It made me proud to see an Arab artist being featured in such a museum. Apart from that, I’m not a huge fan of contemporary and modern art. Yet, there are some paintings and artworks that I enjoyed.

Great modern and contemporary art museum. They have rich art and design collection. It is interesting because they do not separate paintings from design objects or installations but put side by side.

A large collection of contemporary art, across a variety of media and level of 'what on earth did I just see'... Definitely worth a visit! It's best to pre-book your day just in case, but that's easily done online and you can pay at the door if needed. At €22 it's a reasonable price for the amount of pieces and exhibits you get to see (around 500) along with the usual educational information. It's spacious, so you don't at all feel cramped or rushed and can enjoy talking your time. Would definitely recommend!

Great museum. Tickets bought online advise last entry at 5.45pm ... this is when they start kicking the public out!! Arrive atleast 1.5 hours previous to this as its huge.

Lots of people at the time. Museum is nice, had many paintings that were inspired by the colonies. They had textile, architectural, video, photography and painting artworks, which was interesting to experience. They also had a hall for lesser known artists, for them to show their art and get become more popular in ways of competition. Lines were long at 14:00, so would suggest getting there in advance. Will probably return there.
