Any museum that puts hate speech on display without calling it such is highly suspect. There is no reason at all to include this except to introduce/promote hateful ideologies... and this message, right in the middle of the short exhibit about HIV was clearly deliberately placed. I am still shocked.

The museum visit was enjoyable. It was interactive where you can look into microscopes to see the microbes and collect chops at the various exhibits. I especially loved watching the ants exhibit. There was also an area that showed you how items such as bread looked like when left alone for years.

Although not as big, had exceptional and fascinating displays. Some were interactive with controls for the cameras or microphone. The place was clean and crisp, with the displays being quite well positioned and laid out to navigate. There were a few people there when we were there but it didn't feel crowded or choked at any one spot. Great place for kids, and great spot for tourists fascinated with microbiology or even biology in general.

Amazing place to learn about microbes, bacteria, and microorganisms. Cutting edge technology and interactive installation s. Most of the exhibits have live cultures under a microscope. They also run interactive lectures. Kid friendly. Must see, especially if you are interested in this topic.

Totally worth it. Incredible museum and a great experience. Only thing was that not all stamps were working properly, but that's just a detail.

Our visit to Micropia in Amsterdam was fascinating! The microscopic worlds presented here are impressive and provide a unique insight into the invisible life around us. The interactive displays and informative presentations enriched the visit greatly. A must-visit for anyone interested in the invisible wonders of microbiology!

A unique museum! It’s an expensive ticket if you’re paying full price, but there’s a lot to see and the exhibit is very unusual and fascinating. I loved collecting the microbe stamps! It’s a good way to make sure you see every part of the exhibit. You can spend a pretty long time here—the museum is small, but there are accompanying videos with every section if you want to watch.

(Translated by Google) What a great experience. There is a huge amount of information available about the smallest of life forms! It is also presented in a very nice way. You are not bored for a moment. There may be more interaction with assignments. I loved the ant colony. You can see up close how the ants work! In short: An asset to the city!

One of my many highlights of Amsterdam! I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is so interactive and engaging, plus the ant colony was fascinating. Also caught a talk with one of the scientists that was interesting. Well worth the visit!

An outstanding exhibition. I have never visited a science museum as interesting and unforgettable as this one. I got to learn about a large number of microbes in the most fun and amusing way. I would definitely love to visit the place again someday.

We had a wonderful experience at Micropia! It's very interactive, and you can even collect stamps to track your visit. Don't forget to get your stamp card at the entrance! The museum is free for museum card holders. Strongly recommend as a weekend activity for both adults and kids. ⚠️ The elevator didn't work during our visit, so visitors had to use the stairs. Be aware if you need accessibility facilities.

Super interesting museum. Liked it a lot. Nice to learn and understand better the big role that microbes play in our life. Fun experience, looks like the children who visited liked it too. It is recommended to combine your visit with a visit to the ARTIS zoo.

This was one of my favorite places we visited during our trip to Amsterdam! Entry was free with our iAmsterdam card, and we couldn't resist purchasing a little plush tardigrade to bring home! Super interesting exhibits with all kinds of interactive attractions. The staff were all lovely, and very welcoming. Everyone in our group agreed this was our favorite museum in Amsterdam!

Came to Amsterdam for a one-day trip. Bought tickets online for a set time at 14:00, although was able to get in sooner with it not being busy. It's on two floors with the route starting from the top and ending at ground floor. There are a lot of interactive displays with microscopes which is really cool. It has a their laboratory on display as well where you can watch the technician work. There are free lockers at the entrance so you don't have to carry everything around. The gift shop is small but has good items, to include an ale. We took our time and looked at most displays and interactives, and it took about 90 minutes. Would definitely recommend to people interested in microbiology.

One of the most interesting museums I have ever visited! It costs only €10 for students and even cheaper for kids. It is definitely worth seeing as you will some some mind-blowing things, read some weird facts and see how different microbes look like. It is definitely a unique experience. It will be also beneficial to your hygiene as you will definitely improve it after being in Micropia! Overall, a must-see museum in Amsterdam!

If you have any doubts or are second-guessing going to this museum, let me reassure you that it is AMAZING!! So educational, interactive, entertaining, and truly fascinating! I’m a nurse and had to take microbiology for my bachelors degree and this museum still had a lot to teach me. I have only been this blown away by a museum once, and it’s nice to see something so creative. The scientists and microbiologists behind this museum must really care because it shows through this museum. It was €17 when you buy an online ticket. They have restrooms and free lockers for you to put your things in before you walk around. It took me about 1.5 hours to walk through and that was after glancing over some material I was already very familiar with. Also you get a discount on a ticket to the zoo when you show your Micropia ticket. The gift shop was also so cool! I got two at-home Petri dishes for me and my wife to experiment with when we get back to the states!

We stumbled across this museum while searching for different science museums to explorer and we were not disappointed at all. Part of the ARTIS zoo and other attractions. If you want to learn the most, plan to be here for at least a couple of hours. We ended up spending 3 hours here and still did not read every placard. The staff were extremely nice and willing to answer any questions you may have. This is such a great museum to learn about many of the different microbes that exist in our world. We arrived early and nearly had the museum entirely to ourselves, which was great to be able to take of time to explore. If you are on the fence about going, you should take the time and explore the world that we can’t see with the naked eye.

Fantastic! The exhibits were very well put together and displayed. The staff were great too! Had a really long conversation with a woman who worked in the lab, not about microbiology but about politics. Very friendly, very informative and very fun! Really good value too. Highly recommend!

You can see all kinds of bacteria through microscopes and there are all kinds of preparations to view. Micropia is also very rewarding and educational for children over 9 years old. The smallest is made visible here, for the first time and a new world opens up, full of hitherto invisible creatures ... (Original) Micropia is gelukkig los van Artis zelf te bezoeken. Content: GREAT It's a very nice museum. In terms of the exhibitions and the explanations and the overall content, it was magnificent. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. I loved it. Purchasing tickets: BE CAREFUL! I think it is better to buy the tickets at the counter, I mean in from a human being, if possible. You will definitely need a credit card. But, even with that, we had some issues with booking tickets online while waiting in the line outside via the qr provided. I received the confirmation email, but it took some clicks here and there to download the file, and initially the thing wouldn't download. For my friend it was even more difficult. The confirmation email took several minutes to arrive, by which point we weren't sure if he had booked a ticket. Fortunately, a confirmation email from the bank reached before we tried buying another ticket. With all this, we anyway had to wait in line to talk to a person. It was all solved, but a little stressful, because we booked tickets for right away, and there are time frames for access and all this took a whole 15 minutes to resolve. But thankfully, for this museum it wasn't soo bad to be late. Maybe making the purchasing process easier with either PayPal or Google pay or something, so it is not so complicated for tourists from everywhere, the experience could be even better.

Got to know variety of viruses and how they are omnipresent. It's impressive to visually see there are literally billions of bacterias and viruses surrounding us. Really loved this museum. I would say if you have kids, it's a good showcase for them to ignite their interest in science and microbiology. When you visit the place, don't forget to receive a blank piece of paper and stamp it with as many bacterias as possible before exiting this place.

Literally the best museum in the world ! it allows you to understand a part of our nature and our environment that we often disregard, making especially interesting for young little kids who have tons of questions about the processes that naturally occur in their environment, as well as young students pursuing an amazing and fascinating career in natural science in which microbes are involved (and this range from biotechnology to environmental biology anf ecology), as well as to those adults who just want to learn trivia facts about all the contributions of microscopic life to the biosphere. Moreover, it is not an expensive museum to visit, while it offers interactive materials, and professionals to answer any questions you may have on the main theme: how we understand microorganisms and how to make the best out of our biological relationship with them.

Fascinating exhibits! You can see a tardigrade in action and interact with really cool installations. The real time body scan and kiss-o-meter were fun and instructive. The ant colony, collections of algae and mold were well presented. Has games built into some of the exhibits too. Highly recommended for kids and adults alike. It took us about 70 minutes to cover the entire museum. Baggage storage and toilets are available to visitors.

This museum probably stays under the radar to some people. If you are staying only for a few days -like a weekend-, I don't know if I would fully recommend it, but if you have enough time, you should definitely go. Also, I would recommend going to a coffeeshop first, to have an even more amazing experience.

I would recommend for everyone to see it and learn something about the world of microbes.

A must visit museum for any tween child. So exciting, so much to learn, so entertaining, too. Great presentation and very friendly and chatty staff who happily advise you on any curiosities you find questionable. Great souvenir shop at the entrance, too.

Great spot. Book directly with them. Get your guide never emailed me my ticket. Walk over and have tea next to the botanical cool spritzed area. You can also do the zoo and the museum if courageous.

Incredible place for everyone in love with science! The staff is very helpful and happy to answer any of your — even the silliest — questions. If you participate in stamp collecting, don’t forget to ask for the sticker on your way out. The kid in me was sooo happy to experience this.

Highly entertaining and informative museum. We loved Micropia! We visited as part of a combined ticket to the Zoo and dived into Micropia when the heavens opened. What we found was a highly interactive space where everyone is encouraged to explore the hidden world of microbes. My teenage children can be hard to please, but they were in their element here and were quickly engrossed. Upstairs, displays were well laid out, with microscopes at each station allowing the visitor to explore and wonder at the hidden realm that we are so reliant on. Downstairs, there was information about the human relationship with microbes, both good and bad. A visit to the zoo wouldn't be complete without a trip to Micropia.

Very interesting museum about microbes. This can inspire kids to want to lean more about microbiology. The museum is not big but puts the effort on using technology to explain and shows these microorganism in a very interesting way. We bought Artis zoo tickets so we could show these tickets to the front counter and add 8 euro per person to get into this museum. There are only two floors and not big. But we spent more than 1 hour because they have made it really well.

Super cool! Went with a group of adults, we all enjoyed the museum. Wish I could take my lab on a field trip here ☺️ I loved so many things, it’s hard to pick. I got excited when I saw they had a Microbe of the Month!

If you are interested in biology or just curious about the world of microbes, you simply MUST go here. Amazing interactive pieces, the staff were just fab, and thoroughly enjoyed the trip there. I will admit it was strange as a Brit paying €17.50 for one ticket into a museum, but worth it.

Incredible, very unique experience that I never had at another museum. The blend of science and technology very much adds to the guest experience, and doesn't feel tacky. I would work here if I could.

Fun and informative museum. What I enjoyed most about the museum was that youre able to play with the microscope, smell the rotting food, interactive booths. Definitely a good learning experience especially for the young ones.

I didn’t think my four-year-old would enjoy this but boy-oh-boy was I wrong! He loved it and the wonderful woman at the counter (we didn’t get her name) was absolutely helpful. They made the museum so interactive that even the youngest but most curious minds are guaranteed to have a blast. A must-visit for sure!
