We had the high expectations but ended up to be very disappointed about everything here. Around 50% chance I ran into very rude service, that far away from a five star hotel stands for. Example 1 , we were waiting for our table in the restaurant and they never told us the table was ready. Later the intern waiter came over and said “if you are not going to sit at that table. I’ll give it to other people!” ; Example 2, the cleaning service tried to come into the room in early morning at 8am; Example 3, the coffee machine in our room wasn’t working and we called the reception. That woman picked up the phone was basically yelling at me and said “I’m not engineer. I don’t know how to fix coffee machine!” (Later she explained to us in the email that she thought we were hotel employees. Even then, how could she possibly be so mean to her colleagues?) Other than this, the room is creative but feels like a cage for some reason. Even the tiny shampoo bottle was broken and they didn’t replace a new one during our stay. And the rooftop wasn’t open. I gave two stars for nice decoration and food quality.

Great location but very disappointed. I had requested an early check-in as I flying in early from overseas. After 4 hours, they are still telling me that “they are in the room cleaning it right now and it’s almost done,” just like they told me 4 hours ago. I would have made other plans for the afternoon if you had actually been honest with me.

I love Andaz hotels. Never disappointed. Staff are always friendly and professional. The interior of room and all the details are always attractive in different cities and countries. Andaz hotel in Amsterdam was extraordinary. I could enjoy canal view and boat tour in the evening was great option to see the city and know the history. Thank you for the recommendation. The fashionable receptionist was very kind and professional!

My best friend and I had an amazing stay and will be back! The ambiance of this hotel is immaculate and location is excellent and allowed us to walk basically everywhere within 20 minutes. Once we landed I checked in on the Hyatt app and to my surprise when we arrived to the hotel around 10am our hotel was ready, which beautiful news to our ears. Flaminia checked us in and was helpful in providing great recommendations on places to eat within the city. She also assisted in booking our spa services, which we both highly recommend! Great staff, great location, good water pressure, comfortable sleep, fun events in the hotel.

I regret to say that my recent stay at the Andaz Amsterdam fell far short of my expectations, and I feel it is important to share my experience for the benefit of other travelers. While the hotel's location is undoubtedly excellent and it has a unique ambiance, the issues I encountered during my stay left me deeply disappointed. Firstly, the rooms barely had functional air conditioning, which was particularly uncomfortable during my stay. Despite being informed that everything in the fridge was "free," I found only a couple of bottles of water and a single coke, which was frankly quite embarrassing. My dining experience at the hotel was equally disheartening. As a guest, I expected to have the option to dine in the dining room. To my surprise, I was denied access. When I attempted to order food and eat in the lobby, I was told that this wasn't allowed either. Instead, I was forced to order exclusively from the hotel's limited menu at 9 PM. Furthermore, despite the hotel being nearly empty at that hour, I was instructed to eat at the bar area, which made little sense and felt unnecessarily rigid. Considering the price I paid for my stay, I found these limitations and the lack of cooperation in accommodating basic requests highly unsatisfactory. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this accommodation to fellow travelers, especially those who value a comfortable stay and tourist-friendly service. Additionally, the fact that the air conditioning was ineffective in all the rooms during my stay was a significant drawback. For these reasons, I would advise others to explore alternative options when visiting Amsterdam.

We stayed for one night after disembarking a cruise and found the hotel and staff to be extremely comfortable and accommodating. After being greeted with a welcome coffee during check in, the helpful staff quickly delivered all of our luggage to our room. The complimentary minibar was also a pleasant surprise. The staff was very helpful with recommending dining and directions to museums. We did have a small issue, where some broken plastic was mixed into the ice in my wife’s cocktail. It was clearly an accident and the bar staff was very apologetic and gracious in ensuring my wife was safe. The staff was also very helpful in reserving an early morning taxi pickup and kindly sent us off with bottles of water and coffee.

We had a great experience at the Andaz Amsterdam this past week! What really stood out to us was the kindness and professionalism of their staff (especially at the front desk); their willingness to help with anything we needed and their positivity was wonderful to experience, and we are so grateful. The hotel is perfectly located, near the water and close to cute shops and cafes. The hotel’s decor is beautiful and their amenities are top notch: delicious and very complete breakfast buffet, great spa (my husband absolutely loved his massage with Silvia), a functional gym, a cozy and quiet library to work from, a cute Alice in Wonderland themed garden, and complimentary Juniper happy hour & minibar. If we ever go back to Amsterdam, this is where we are staying again! 10/10 recommend. Thank you Andaz Amsterdam!

Amazing hotel, location, rooms. We loved our stay at the Andaz so much that we stayed another day. The front staff are very friendly and professional. The managers of the night shift and day shift were very accommodating, we could walk to pretty much anywhere we wanted to go. The only suggestion I would make is on the service side. Everyone was super friendly in person, but if you tried calling the host line you’d never get an answer. We also tried the “call back” option but they wouldn’t call back for hours. We’d have to walk down to ask questions or request something. No big problem but it kept me from a 5th star. This hotel has everything going for it for a 5-star hotel other than not answering the phones, and no place to purchase snacks/beverages after 11pm. Downstairs I did see the messages on all the phones were blinking, but never heard them making noise. I wondered if maybe the volume had been turned off on the Host phones. Anyway would love to stay here again, and will highly recommend to my friends.

Fantastic hotel and immaculate service. Very unique styling with clear attention to details of every corners. The room while not as large as expected (considering price and other offerings in town) was very comfortable and we found everything needed for length of stay. We stayed for 4 nights during busy IBC weekend. Despite the hotel clearly fully booked, there was not a single request that was not answered within minutes. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of buffet choices and hot dishes menu ("we would never say no to a customer" was the reply when we tried some variations of our own dietary needs). Bravo!

In a city that feels like a dream within a storybook, the Andaz is like stepping inside a magical fairytale. We stayed for one night during a layover in this beautiful city, our brief but expansive experience at Andaz was one of the best I’ve had. In a building that used to house a public library, the Andaz is the perfect blend of style, comfort and care by the excellent staff. The design concept goes far beyond most other hotels, mixing classic Amsterdam history in different eras. Powerfully modern yet historical in many curated touches in the rooms and overall hotel. The staff was friendly, kind and attentive. Tim checked us in and made us a dinner reservation for that night, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The custom furniture and fixtures were unique and chic, 24h gym and sauna.

Highly recommended hotel, the security, room size, breakfast and location is absolutely better than most hotels around its area. Ensure booking it the right time as the rate can get very high at some seasons. Never the less, highly recommended.

Great hotel. The design was amazing and the food was out of the world. Kind and friendly staff that are always there to help you. Highly suggest this hotel if you are looking to stay in Amsterdam and is a throw stone away to the train station.

I wish I could give even more stars for the service we experienced at the Andaz. To say our stay was excellent is an understatement. The staff at the Andaz takes care to ensure that every guest feels special, especially our smallest family member- an 8month old. We arrived to a sweet letter for the “little traveller” beside the crib provided by the hotel. A baby bath, baby care kit and gift were all included in the welcome set. Throughout the stay, the Andaz made sure we were comfortable, even when it meant calling us a doctor to the room on Christmas Eve. It’s never easy to travel with a new baby, but when things took an inevitable turn the hotel took care of every scenario to make our trip was full of positive memories. If none of this resonates with you, in short, food was excellent, location was perfect, room was clean, service surpassed all expectation.

I absolutely loved everything about this hotel! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, it was perfect. Anna at check in was the sweetest, most helpful staff we've ever encountered in a hotel. She gave us tons of recommendations (including where to get the best fries!). She offered us a glass of wine and gave us a room upgrade that faced the Canal. This hotel is stunning! Rooms are super modern and quirky, it just fits the city vibe. The location couldn't been better... 15 minutes to everything! We loved it here very much, and I wouldn't hesitate to come back!

Not worth the money. Open concept bedroom and bathroom just doesn't add anything to it. Shower looks like a closet, vanity mirror is not practically placed. Bed frame looks and feels plastic, and the headboard is made of glass for some reason. The pillows are not stuffed enough. Our breakfast wasn't included in the price so we did a la carte for 3 days. The restaurant staff was just really confused every time, and we always went when they weren't particularly busy. The prices there, surprisingly, weren't bad. The food tastes good...if you get what you've ordered. We didn't interact with the hotel staff much, except at the check in, and that part was perfectly fine. Decorations in the room itself and the rest of the hotel are just underwhelming, and look like they are cheaply made. Comparing it with the beautiful Andaz in Prague, just doesn't give you a 5 star hotel feel. We've also been woken up almost every day because of some weird squeaking noises and power tools. On the positive side, cleanliness is on a very high level and the location itself is amazing.

After a rough few days prior in Belgium, I was so happy when I arrived to the Andaz in Amsterdam. It was a little challenging to get to from the train station but once I arrived I felt like I was transported to a little oasis. The staff was always attentive, responsive and just lovely. The first day I was quite tired so I went to the bar at 5pm for their cocktail hour and had a drink. The rooms were absolutely incredible. I had a garden view and the garden is the best thing I have ever seen. This hotel is Alice in Wonderland themed and I couldn't have been more obsessed. I was having so much fun getting ready each day because the vanity set up was incredible. It was my birthday weekend so I decided to treat myself with a 3 night stay here and I just wish I could have stayed longer. I literally cannot recommend this place more! I will 100% be booking again the next time I find myself in Amsterdam. Oh, and the breakfast in the morning is also incredible!

Love this hotel! The room is kinda weird with a very open bathroom floor plan but the hotel is gorgeous and the service is top notch. Worth it to get breakfast included in your rate - it’s great! The room is a pretty nice size especially for Europe and the bed/linens are nice. Super cute area near a lot of trendy spots. Ask them to book a boat tour for you. Way better than one of the huge tourist trap canal cruises.

The first thing that i did not like about hotel was bathroom style. The shower was in the middle of the room giving no privacy for the person while having a shower. While one of us taking shower, other had to wait outside as there was no place for dressing after shower. Moreover there is no place for hanging any towels inside the shower . Although i have noticed them that we are brothers and sisters and we needed twin bed ; they did not warn us more they did not change the room type and gave us a room with such bathroom. Then i got very sicked after 24 hours, they have not helped my brother for calling an ambulance and they only provides a number and asked him to call ambulance although they saw me laying on the floor unconscious. We had to leave hotel after 36 hours by ambulance, and couldnot stay at the hotel for last 36 hours. They charged all the hotel fees more, since my my brother was very stressed and could not leave me alone in the toom ( i faded and was unconscious )he smoked tobacco at the window they us charged 350€ penalty for doing that.

We stayed here for two nights for a business trip and was welcomed warmly. We arrived very early and was able to be accommodated ASAP, so we were able to make it to our planned engagements. The room itself was smaller than we thought; previous Hyatt rooms we've had are way bigger. But we were ok with it, due to a short stay. Pay attention to the little decorative touches within the room itself, we definitely appreciated it, especially the bathroom. Also loved the fact that the umbrellas are available for guests due to the ever-changing daily weather. We had no complaints during our stay and would definitely recommend it to business travelers as well as those on vacation.

Location is wonderfully situated in a very cozy yet popular area of shopping, cafes and restaurants. Extremely walkable and just a 10-20 min to city centre. Ambiance and decor are top notch and whimsical in a way. I loved every bit of it (including the wall art). Will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Had a great time. Hotel was centrally located, easy walk to get to everything interesting. Staff very friendly if a bit too beautiful. Not good for someone my age. I would recommend staying there.

During the course of several months of dithering amid the covid crisis we had bookings at Pulitzer, the Hoxton and finally we arrived at the Andaz. And was it a good decision. We went and checked the former two and they were not as new as the Andaz. We got an excellent rate through our Corp perk site and therefore it made it much sweeter. I will admit my review will be a little less generous if I ended up paying twice what I paid for instance. The room was spacious by european standards, the location is a peach, so close to lots of places most walkable, the tram two streets away and yet not on the more crowded avenues of the city. The concierges could be more informative, though they tried to be helpful and were responsive. The rooms were well kept. My only grouse, please put a towel hanger somewhere near the shower.

This was my first time at an Andaz property and all I have to say is WOW. The decor right when you walk in is amazing and very representative of Amsterdam and the Netherlands. The front desk was so very helpful and kind! Location is right next to De 9 Staatjes and walking distance to the metro line. This makes it for easy access to great food and sightseeing. We were very lucky and got a room along the canal so the view each morning was memorable! Thank you so very much to the hotel staff for making my first Andaz experience great!

Fabulous location, stunning hotel! Our room was very tiny but we made it work! The breakfast presentation is excellent. There is a canal cruise located right at the front door! Well worth taking.

We stayed on the canal side and had amazing views. The staff made my birthday visit very special - flowers, fruit, and chocolate waiting in the room. I'm already planning my return trip. Staff was very helpful on restaurant suggestions and activity ideas. The rooms are interesting but very cool. I love the library/Alice and Wonderland feel of the whole hotel. Can't wait to return!

A really good stay in Amsterdam. Hotel is new and you get all the (good) service one would expect from Hyatt group of hotels. It is a matter of choice but the rooms have design over functionality and this might be disturbing. If you put that aside, then it is an excellent choice both for business and leisure.

This is definitely a must stay at property. The location is great and the staff are professional and attentive. I can’t give the property 5 stars because they missed on a few details. The phones took longer than they should to answer along with a few other things. I’m a normal everyday guy and I felt at ease. The hotel has a unique elegant feel without being pretentious.

  • 4/5 Fabrizio P. 1 year ago on Google
It is a modern hotel, with a particular design. Front office staff not well prepared, especially for a 5 stars hotel. We had some difficulties. My room was spacious and was in the back building. Didn't like the "deconstructed" bathroom. Slow elevator. House keepers were extremely kind and professional.

  • 5/5 Olya A. 1 year ago on Google
Located slightly away from the city centre on the peaceful road by the canal. We are staying on the top floor with a balcony and it is so quiet and relaxing. The room is spacious, stylish and the bed is comfortable. Separate large shower room and the toilet. Breakfast is served till 11 and has a good choice of food. The hotel lobby has a wow factor and will be admired by the modern art lovers. All front staff are friendly, helpful and look fashionable. I would definitely be back here again when I'm in Amsterdam.

We moved to this property after 2 days at the Pulitzer. Our so-so experience at the Pulitzer (room related) made us realize what's important in selecting a 5-star property, and Andaz is probably one of our favourite brands we stayed at globally (Maui, Seoul, Singapore). It's safe to say 'service' at most 5-star hotel will be top notch, however the rooms and amenities vastly differ. At the Andaz we had zero issues with the AC, room were not only tidy but was odour-free. While the gym here was bare minimum it still was adequate for a vacation workout. Sauna was clean and operational. The elevator ride up to the rooms had a neat little detail with the interior foyer.

  • 5/5 Julian R. 1 year ago on Google
I loved the Andaz Hotel! The rooms are a little weird design wise (you need to be okay with an open bathroom design) but very functional and clean. The interior wasn’t worn down but well maintained. The garden behind the hotel let’s you escape the noise of the city. The hotel is located in one of the prime locations at the canal front. The restaurant downstairs serves great food in the evenings and breakfast in the mornings. I loved the breakfast since they have this big open kitchen where you can see how they make your Omelet. Staff is very friendly too. There’s a sauna and gym area that I didn’t try because the Bathrobes were only available in size L but have been so short that I couldn’t close it in the front (I either need to loose weight, ask for bigger robes or both). The headrest of the bed is made out of thin plexi-glass which means you can’t really lean too much against it when watching TV.

This hotel has excellent design and a very good staff. On the day of the Pride parade, they hotel set up a viewing platform in front because the hotel sits on the parade route. It was unforgettable! and the hotel serves oysters champagne and other snacks for the guests, kept us out of the frenzy a bit and enjoying a good view of the parade (couldn’t see from the bridges or streets). It was the best seat in the house I’m told. I made the mistake of spending too much time in the amazing bathtub but that’s on me!
