The worst experience EVER. I booked a room but my dates were wrong and not refundable. They didn't use common sense, made my life in a TERROR MOVIE if I want to reserve another dates, and wanted to charge me more money (I pay a really high price in the first reservation).

I can't understand how there are comments complementing the location. It's not good at all! As for the hotel itself. Well as a seasoned traveller I struggle to find anything positive to say about this place except for the pillows were good. Service is non existent, you have to traipse back and forth between this "hotel" and another for the check in process which was a nightmare. The building is an old Dutch House being used now as a hotel. Your room is just a box room with makeshift shower room. The stairs are crazy. The room we had was 2nd floor but had 4 flights of steep stairs. The room was number 11, however the layout means you go past numbers 20, 13, etc etc on the way to this room. Some rooms are owned by hotel Floris some aren't, you will see stickers on the doors with other hotel names. There is no reception at this place and therefore no one to help or advise. We emailed the reception in the other hotel (a fair walk away) to ask if they would print out boarding passes and they never even replied!!! I wouldn't recommend this hotel or anything to do with the company to anyone. Find somewhere better and in a better location as this is a joke!!!

THIEVES !!!!!!! HOTEL MAX, FLORIS AND IRIS !! THEY ARE ALL THE SAME!! UNDER ONE MANAGEMENT!! They locked our room and took money from my girlfriend's card without even calling us or email us!! We just went for a river cruise and when we came back they were locked our room with my pills inside it, but NO ONES CARE!!!! When we went to ask the girl from the reception, she told us that is because we damaged the sheets with a bit of stain (that can be washed!!). They fine us €80 for simple white sheets!! And they told us that they won't let us in the room if we do not sign the amount that they took from us. And we had two choices: to sign the receipt for €80 or to leave the hotel with no refunds for the already paid two nights!! They didn't care about my pills inside the room, they didn't care about our luggage inside the room, nothing!!! The only thing that they care was to sign the receipt for the money that they took from us without even inform us!!! THE WORST HOTEL THAT WE HAVE BEEN SO FAR!!! YOU DO NOT NEED THIS EXPERIENCE!! STAY AWAY FROM THOSE 3 HOTELS!!!

Worst hotel I ever stayed at. Everything was dirty, pillows were so bad that I waked up with a headache every day. Shower was leaking, you can hear every little movement of the neighbors, no privacy. The guy at reception was nice tho.

Good enough if you don’t plan to spend much time in your hotel. Good: location and staff. Bad: no lift, tiny rooms, one room had the toilet in the shower and the shower leaked and didn’t drain well. Note: check in is at Hotel Iris a block away.

Small but cozy rooms, maybe the fact of the toilet being in the shower and the hand washer in the room made it a bit awkward. Walls are too thin and you can hear everything. Having to check in and out in the iris hotel makes it quite inconvenient. For the rest quite good.

Great location away from too many tourists. Very small room and the toilet is in the shower, which was weird, but that wasn't a deal breaker for us. The staff (at the hotel you check in at) was so friendly. We would go back.

Had a great experience at the hotel. One of the best hotels in Amsterdam if you want a good bang for the buck. Everything was clear an flawfless from the check in to the check out. If people are disappointed about the check in being in an another hotell or the rooms being small they should read and do actual research before blindly booking. Highly underrated hotel in my opinion. Had an amazing experience at Amsterdam and will recommend this place to friends and colleagues!

Check in was absolutely frustrating. This was an on the spot, last resort booking, as our original hotel cancelled our reservation, and weren't notified until we arrived. The check in for this hotel is in a different building, across the river at the Hotel Iris. So if you're using google maps to navigate, enter Hotel Iris, this took us a while to sort out as when we arrived at Hotel Floris. There's a buzzer/intercom at the door with a piss poor map with no instructions or clarity that check is at a different location. Every time we buzzed for assistance we could barely make out what she was saying as the volume was really low. After figuring out the check in was at the Hotel Iris, we walked over with our back packs checked in, acquired our keys and headed back to Hotel Floris. We were so relieved we finally got a room to put our bags down and rest our heads, then we realize the rooms are not in any logical order. Apparently, the building houses rooms for 3 different hotels; Hotel Floris, Hotel Iris and Hotel Marx. So we walked up and down the rickety, steep, and narrow stairs until we found our assigned room, without any warning or instruction from reception. Needless to say, the room was small but clean and modern. The bed was in the middle of the room which it made harder to move around. Windows are big and they open which was nice but the view was nothing spectacular. The location is ok, a bit away from the hot spots. We took a tram to get to the square. There's a Lidl (supermarket)directly in front of the hotel, but the room doesn't offer a fridge or kettle, so it was quite useless. The area is more residential, so it's less busy. I can't comment on the staff, as the only interaction we had was with reception who was polite but not helpful. Internet was solid, bed was comfy, showers were hot with good pressure. Would I stay here again? For the amount we paid and the hassle we went through, i'll consider other alternatives.

😐 It is a large, somewhat impersonal, completely unshaded and extremely noisy campsite (we were in the tented section).Noisy because there is a large multi-lane bridge nearby, which is still very busy at night. Also noisy because of the "cigarette smokers". There are no rules and regulations - or if t...
