Super cool place. What i love is the service, the waiter didn’t care if we were from out of town he was over the top helpful and friendly. The beer was great and food even better. Sits in a nice little spot of town. Lot of random people there as it is a bar. But nothing bothersome. Highly recommend the wings.

We walked in on a Sunday night without a reservation and were able to be seated right away! Food was amazing and staff was friendly and helpful. We had a great time!

The food was great! Sunday roast! But it's too bad they charged us 13.60€ for 2 carafes of tap water. If you are charging for water, it should at least come in the bottle. Or, let people know that you don't serve tap water... Maybe they thought we were tourists and they could get away with it. We were not....too bad I didn't check the bill before paying. On the bill, it said 2x peroni (which we didn't order) That was our expensive carafes of tap water! I'm too trusting.

Love the music here, jazz and blues mix. Super friendly bartender. Chill vibe. Recommended a great fruity Amsterdam wheat beer.

Marvelous food and drinks. We had some proper vegan options. Like grilled eggplant and mushroom bitterballen. Pinot gris and decent espresso. There was a good laid back but proffesional ambience. Nice and spacious inside. Skilled people at service and in the kitchen. Nothing but props

We had a great time. The athmosphere is amazing and the staff was incredibly welcoming and warm. They also checked our vaccination qr-codes which we think to be a very responsible thing to do. Sadly this was the first time on our trip in amsterdam. But maybe their good example will lead to more establishments doing it. It's just to keep everyone safe anyways. We had a Ceasar's Salad (the sauce tasted like it was homemade, although we didn't ask) and the beef and ale pie. Both tasted really good and we'll definitely come back next time we're in the city. 10/10 would recommend again!

Went here as had great reviews and seemed reasonably priced. The service was great. The staff very friendly and even helped us get outside to a table. The food was delicious. We had the chili fries and nachos. The fries were criped and cooked perfectly the chili not too runny not too thick but that perfect combination. Perfect once you added on the creme fresh the jalapenos added just the right amount of kick but not over powering. The nachos we so yummy. The fresh chips were thick and did not crumble or wilt under the the toppings. The quac was really good and I am usually not a huge fan but it had the right flavor. It was late and we were all tired so we didn't have any drinks but the variety lookedreally good with several varieties of beer, wine, and ciders.

A lovely place. I got a baked Camembert with crispy bread and fries. Everything was perfect. The Camembert ist baked with garlic and rosemary which gives it a very interesting flavor. The interior is supreme. Very well thought out with a nice rustical feeling. Still everything is clean and fresh. The service is excellent. We got a table next to the bar and were regularly served and asked if everything was alright. The owner speaks perfect English, which is to be expected from an English woman :D (Almost everybody does in Amsterdam but still, a nice fact to know)

We went here spontaneously to have some coffee. Being tired of walking around Dam Square early evening was looking for a decent place for coffee (not the coffee shops) and was surprised to find Black Dog which looked like a traditional pub but the bar tender was happy to make us nice coffee and served with a friendly smile and not with a despair look on the face of bar tender when younare not asking for expensive alcoholic drink. There was no signs of rushing us to finish our drinks and then to our surprise we found Indian spicy cauliflower pakoras on the menu, which being Indian, we had to try. And we were not disappointed. Well done and I will definitely be back.

Cannot recommend the black dog enough. Everything is top tier. The service is excellent and Simon makes you feel like you're back in the UK. I was really hoping the roast was good after having such a warm and friendly welcome and it did not disappoint. The beef was perfect and the Brussel sprouts had a lovely flavour, possibly the best I've had. Kitchen took it pretty far with the char but it was bang on. Straight after, I texted fellow Brits living in Amsterdam to come here. I look forward to returning!

The place is authentically English, and so is the alcohol offers. The Sunday Roast is a good nice experience, but you have to book in advance! Recommended. The other foods are not at the same level unfortunately, but anyway a great place for an evening outside.

Gotta say, after a little smoke of Amsterdam's finest, the wall decor was a little intense 😅, but this was made up for by the delicious beer and bar food. Hands down the best quesadilla I've had in Europe (and I'm from California). Nice vibe, very relaxed and cozy.

A lively bar with good bar food. The gyozas were good. The chili dog was excellent, served in a bagel like bun and loaded with chili and jalapeños.

Loved the experience here. Food and drinks were really nice! We came in to watch the soccer and also got some drinks and a bit of food. The waiters were extremely nice and even let us switch tables twice to move closer to the tv. Highly recommend!!!

Very nice staff and better food. For a bar this is some of the best food I have ever had. The nachos are to die for. Busy place but not too loud. Clean and fun environment.

Awesome place. My family ate here for lunch on our first day and dinner for our last. All the food is great. The staff was super attentive and fun yo chat with. They have board games, great beer, and outside seating, too. I am certain we will visit again!

Nice place with friendly staff. It's mainly for drinks and quick bites. The downside for me was that there were a lot of smokers, in fact all the tables surrounding us. But nice place overall.

I'll start by saying I've had the best wings I've ever eaten here, and to make it even better they give you all flats without even having to ask! The service here was also amazing, on top of their excellent drink options and great prices for everything. Was definitely in the top food experiences we had while visiting Amsterdam!

The place is affordable, offers great food and a nice selection of drinks. For a full meal and 2 rounds of drinks(for one person) it costs about 20€. The only negative thing was service - we had to wait a long time(~30min.) for the waiter to take our order(which he eventually did only because we called him). He also put quiet a lot of foods and drinks into our bill that we didn't order which in total was about 40€ extra. So if you end up visiting this place, make sure you check the receipt!

Don’t worry when you don’t have reservation around, you can always visit Black Dog. Great place for relax lunch and dinner! Nachos are great :)

After spending a week in Italy it felt great to have a proper birre and they have Buffalo chicken wings!! The beer is great. The food is great. The owner is very cool and personable. Would recommend 10/10.

I went recently with a couple of friends and I wasn't disappointed. We ordered four cheese burgers and some nachos to share as a starter. Unfortunately the nachos came at the same time as the burgers so we had to much food at one time. Other than that, the staff was friendly, and the food was tasty. Might go again sometime.

Amazing staff, food, and overall atmosphere. The drink selection is excellent and the food is incredible, each meal tastes like it was made with thought and skill. The staff is awesome, very nice, funny, and easy to talk to. The artistic decor and good lighting makes me want to chill all day and night!

I’ve tried both the quesadillas and the Sunday roast. Both great, but if you get a chance to eat the Sunday roast, you simply have to do it. So tender, so tasty, so Sunday. Soooo good I want to stay an extra week in Amsterdam just to get a taste of it again.

All of the stuff, and we're very friendly, attentive and quick to meet all of our needs. Actually they were the most welcoming stuff we met in our trip in Amsterdam. The food was nice as well, according to me, more likely to Mexican food. They have a lot of board games so you can never get bored there. We bought a polo t-shirt so we can encourage the development of this place. Cannot wait to wear it and tag The Black Dog.

Yass!! Was recommended this place by a bartender elsewhere when I went looking for late dinner. Very nice waiter recommended the lamb special and a “not too strong” beer. Bang on the money. Only missed out on the brownie for dessert. Oh well… reason to come back.

It was pretty close in the city centre. Food was okay, average. Chicken wings were nice but buffalo chicken burger was a bit dry (not a fan of breast). You can sit outside with a nice atmosphere. Total 44€ for two burgers and one small chicken wings :-)

Huge choice of the craft Dutch bottle beer. I was lucky to be served by the waiter with a good mood and it made my evening 😎 Hot Dog is spicy with the sausage of high quality. Tasty 😋

Insanely good burger, solid drinks (lil highly priced but they were, as I said, solid) and the dessert was incredible. The atmosphere is great with the music, the waiters were friendly and it definitely felt very British. Would 100% recommend for locals/tourists alike!

We came here May 2023. The service/people were amazing and the burgers were heaven! Best I've ever had. We are coming back to Amsterdam soon and this is on the list to revisit 😍
