The staff was so friendly and helpful. Great beers and very good food in a cozy place. They have an extensive burgers' menu and also good vegetarian and vegan options :)

Excellent burgers. Tasty salad substitute for the fries. Very good beer selection. We had the buffalo mozzarella burger and portobello mushroom burger. Very yummy. Excellent music plays while you enjoy your meal. Dimly lit but definitely bright enough. A very warm atmosphere, romantic even. We will return the next time we are in the Netherlands.

Amazing place for food, drinks and laughs! The owner/barman is super friendly, the food was incredible, all made with Zest own spices and flavours. The beers are own-brewed, you can see the brewery in the back of the restaurant. Very cool vibe in an amazing location right on the Bilderdijkstraat!

We were looking for a restaurant in the area with vegan options. Everywhere was booked out and we almost walked past Zest but we saw "vegan menu" in the window. We're so glad we tried it - it was perfect! Their craft beers were fantastic and so was all the food. The vegan options were particularly good - a tasty vegan stew and many different vegan burgers. Everyone was happy and we'll definitely go there again.

They had 4 home brew on tap but I only tasted 2, the imperial stout and the IPA. Definitely worthy! I’m a stout person but as I was at the bar and I saw many people order the IPA I had to try. Food was also delicious. I had a typical Bulgarian dish with veggies and feta cheese. You might thing oh it’s just veggies but it’s a meal, I got full. Not so full that I couldn’t eat the chocolate cake made with stout! Amazing! Owner and staff are very friendly, good atmosphere and very unique. I totally recommend if you would like to experience something out of the crazy crowded!

So happy to find this place. Good beer, tasty food, cute place, and great service! They have their own beer (three types) and four more options on tap. They also have wine, bottle beer, and mixed drinks/liquor. Many things on the menu sounded good, so I’ll have to go back. We tried a burger and the baked feta. The burger was cooked as requested, toppings were fresh, and bun toasty. Husband was pleased. The baked feta was a big portion of feta, tomatoes, a fried egg, and a VERY spicy pepper on top. It was served with toasted bread. We saved room for the chocolate cake made with the imperial stout. Nice rich, kind of dense cake. Yum! We had great service throughout the meal. Friendly people here.

What a gem this is. Great craft beer to wash down your choice of burger all served by very friendly staff that make you feel welcome. You get a good view of the chef cooking your food in the open plan kitchen. If you're feeling that way inclined you can take a seat on the mezzanine floor. Good options for Veggies too.

I booked a table, just in case, and arrived on time – of course. Although there was no need, because some tables were available, they were already expecting me and called me by my name. That was nice. I ordered a Black Milk from the local Asperius brewery while waiting for some food. Very smooth and milky. Then, I had some baked feta cheese with tomato and a Bierwurst. Magnificent. The pita bread that accompanied it was also fresh and crispy. I burned my tongue a bit because I just couldn't wait. Definitely worth the visit.

Veeery good place to have a burger and other starters. I had the “Zesty beast burger” which was amazing!!. Everything was VERY tasty and the atmosphere was hasta perfect. Also really good services.

When you’re hankerin’ for a burger, this is the place. The beef was juicy, cooked just right, bun was toasty warm as were the onions and cheese: it worked so well, I felt like I was back home in the US. Fries were piping hot and delish. Too bad I don’t drink or I would’ve tried some of the proprietor’s very own Espyria, but I did get to hear all about his and partner’s bak bromer, parked outside!

Just had an amazing experience at Zest! The burgers were outstanding, bursting with flavor, and the craft beer selection was on point. The cozy atmosphere made the evening even better. Zest is a great little place, just enough off the tourist trail to be less crowded and more local in feel. They brew their own beer (Asperius) in small vats at the back of the place. It's a micro micro brewery. Selections vary depending on what they've made. The Russian Imperial Stout was smooth but with some heft, and the IPA was lightly hoppy rather than the over-hopped resin that seems to be all the rage in the USA at the moment. They have a small but tasty menu, including some Bulgarian specialties and a few very nice vegetarian dishes. They've been brewing their own beer for the least 4 years. Pop in and help keep them in business for the next 4, you won't regret it.

Laid-back atmosphere, friendly staff, an impeccable tastefull dishes, reasonable prices. But their craft beers are the real stars of this place. Worth to try all of them...or at least go for Hell Yes or Cure :) Warmly recommended!

I dont know how this place has a rating of 4.8. We waited over 45 minutes for two dishes (one was a salad...) when the restaurant was empty - and I mean, there was only the two of us there literally! The food was good, nothing special. The worst part was that an extremely dirty looking man came in and we saw him going into the kitchen. Seemed like a regular...Will not come back.

Best bar in Amsterdam! My wife and I dropped in on our way back to our AirBnB and loved it. The service was amazing, the craft beers delicious, and we had fun conversations with the staff. Papa Nico is the man. Looking forward to dropping by again next time we’re in town.
