A great cup of fries in cold weather! Service was super fast, despite a moderate queue I got my food in a couple minutes. The fries were freshly made and crispy & warm - one of the better ones I've eaten. A variety of sauces available. Unfortunately, due to the way it's presented, the top part of the fries would be heavily coated with the sauces (which became cold quickly due to the weather), and the bottom part of the fries would have little sauce. Perhaps I didn't eat it properly? Still recommended for comfort in the cold weather!

My friends and I stopped here to try the fries on our first day of vacation, and they were so good that we stopped 2 other days! I never liked American mayonnaise, but after trying the traditional Dutch mayonnaise, I cannot stop thinking about it!! We tried several sauces; the ketchup, spicy ketchup, mayonnaise, satay sauce, and truffle mayonnaise. All of them were delicious, but my favorites were the satay sauce and the truffle mayonnaise. When I eventually make it back to Amsterdam, I will be stopping here everyday!

Overrated.... Sauces are great, but the fries not so. The potatoes that they use does not have any flavor when fried, so you are actually eating fried flavorless fries with sauce. Fries can taste so much better! They also do not display the prices of their drinks and these are very expensive.

As you may know, there is no such way to do rocket cience with potatoes, so the french fries itself is the best you can have as all good places with minimum knowledge: warm and well cooked inside and crispy outside. However, the staff is super friendly and they have a thousand of different sauces to try. Therefore you can escape from your old boring traditional mayo! Super recommended!

Great fries done fast and hot. Walk up, tell them what sauces you want, and within seconds you'll have a large cone of hot fresh fries in your hand to enjoy. Don't forget your fry fork and napkin!

Came here after hearing about the famous fries in Amsterdam. There was a line when we arrived so I already knew the food would be great. Line moved fast even with the long queue. Ordered the fries with classic mayonnaise sauce. Probably the best fries I’ve ever eaten.

Had the Oorlog special sauce with large fries and it was the best combo ever. Never thought peanut sauce and Mayo could go so well together. The fries were crispy and perfectly cooked. Gutted I’m unable to stay in Amsterdam for a longer period as I’d love to try the rest of their special sauces.

Probably one of the best fries you can get in Amsterdam! I was really surprised that the fries and sauce pair so well together. It could be their special sauce or their amazing fries. If you are around the area, please go to this place!

Vegan mayo with spicy ketchup was the best combination ever. They’ve got a plenty more kinds of sauces, which is great! You may experience different flavours, unlike the other “fritehuis”es. My partner felt that the fries were a bit too dry, but they offer a great taste in general. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Amsterdam centre.

There are so many french fries shops in Amsterdam but this one is undoubtedly the best of them all. We had fries with four different sauces and all of them were delicious. Fries were crunchy outside and soft inside. At peak times there will be rush and you might have to stand in a line for about 10-15 mins.

Heard this was the fry spot to go to in Amsterdam. To be honest, the fries are about the same from anywhere in the Netherlands, same crispiness, same texture, same everything. But what was cool about this place was the 29 different sauces they had. Some of the ones that intrigued me was Joppie sauce, Piccalilly sauce, citroen mayonaise, hannibal sauce, green pepper sauce. Ultimately I ended up going with the Truffle Mayonaise. Solid portion of the sauces and I would go here again. Pretty long line but we got to the front within 10 minutes.

They have the best fries I tried in Amsterdam! There is usually a small queue there, but it moves fast. The fries are just perfectly cooked and they have plenty of options for sauces, so you will most likely find something you like. :)

Really good fresh chips and fast service. Only a few people queuing and it took literally 30 seconds for them to be made. Around €3/4 depending on the size, extra €1.20 for 2 sauces. I got the fries sauce and peanut sauce and both were very tasty, would recommend

Best homemade Belgian fries in town. This shop which was found since 1957 lives up to its name. The fries tasted so fresh and not a bit greasy at all. What’s best is there are 28 sauces to choose from. We had the mayo and it goes perfectly with the fries!

Was recommended by someone that this place is the best fries in Amsterdam and yes this is worth the hype. The fries is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Their mayo and ketchup is out of this world. Mayo is whipped and fluffy, ketchup is not your ordinary Heinz. We had to get it twice bc 1 is NOT enough!

Delicious Frites!!!! Wow! We enjoyed them with Oorlog mix (popular Satay sauce (peanut flavor) with their classic mayo sauce with onions on top!) LOVE LOVE LOVE Satay sauce! (Didn’t know it- but now we do!) the combination was fantastic! They’re served in a cute paper cone- but it meant the bottom part of the fries didn’t have any toppings. (But this meant we were able to taste the fried plain- and they’re really flavorful!)

Came here because I saw it on social media. Nice fries, a shame you have to pay extra for sauces. Feel like 1-2 should be included. We got super fresh hot fries but would have been nice to know at time of ordering how long it would be.

Where to start…just a small place with one counter and no seats. The fries taste amazing, crispy on the outside and soft from the inside. The selection of sauce is huge and most are vegan, too. There will most certainly be a line but the wait is worth it!

The staff here are sooo great, very kind when we were just short of change! I started off my day not in the best mood and was instantly turned around after my visit here, they put a smile on my face and made me feel great and this was all before eating the food! The fries were definitely the best in Amsterdam, lovely and crispy and a delicious taste even when plain. Would highly highly recommend. For tourists remember they only take cash or local cards (no visa or Mastercard) so come prepared, you don't want to miss out on these!

Very good homemade fries. You come here for the choice of sauces. There are about 20! And some you pay more for. 2 for €1 when I visited. I can recommend the spicy ketchup, especially if you like it hot ! The fries sauce is a sweet mayo. Fries served hot !! Worth the walk, and 2 mins from the flower market.

Really good Belgian fries with a lot of choices for the sauces. We got lucky and arrived when it wasn't queuing that much. But try to be there early if you don't want to wait too long.

If you didn't like the fries, you should be try this fries. I'm sure after then you start to having more fries. Because fries and sauce are fabulous. They serve the fries by proper way, which is really best part of it. They have S,M&L size of fries and So many option for the sauce. We tried two S sizes with melted chedder cheese, barbeque sauce and kethcup. That was nice.

It is delicious but standard fries, nothing to overrate. We got tartar and oorlog mix sauce, they are good.

long queue but goes very quick anyway. they’re very quick and efficient in what they do. Love the chips with special curry mix sauce (curry + mayonnaise) topped with onions.

These guys know how to do chips. They just know, no way to explain it other than they just know something we don't! The chips here are absolutely gorgeous, crunchy and golden and very nice portion sizes. They have all the typical sauces too, but the one try is War. Which is peanut butter, mayo and onions. They call it War as the flavours are 'fighting each other'. We would have gone for seconds, even thirds if the queue hadn't extended round the corner! We did have to wait a few minutes as there was a huge school group who had mass ordered ahead of us, but as soon as they had passed through we were in and out within maybe 15 seconds. This being ordering to having our chips in our hands! This place is amazing, I can't wait to come back and eat more war chips!

The service is super nice. There are lots of sauces to choose from, I asked for the typical one with Peanut butter, mayo and onion, a bit weird but very tasty, a must try! Sadly the fries lacked salt, so when I ran out of sauce, they felt a bit plain.

Favorite fries from my trip through Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris. Super crispy and extremely flavorful. Worth the wait if there’s a long one, as it goes quickly. Definitely try multiple sauces if you can - the truffle Mayo was to die for!

Thick fries, a lot of sauces to choose from. I tried mayo and peanut. The peanut tastes like Singapore satay bee Hoon sauce without the peanut crunch and is less sweet and less spicy. Kinda that kind of feeling. Good experience.

Good fries but don’t see why they are #1. Perhaps self proclaimed. Tried their original Dutch way of eating w/ peanut sauce, mayonnaise and onions - quite bland way of eating. I prefer ketchup or some other sauces.

Bought medium sized fries with one serving of sauce. You can pick your sauce. Cost was €4.50. Really Liked the fries. Nice and crisp to go with sauce. Fairly hole in the wall but prepare for queues as lot of blogs have talked about this place. I did think they are a bit pricey.. if you got large and one sauce it'll set you back over €6. I think they can charge less for the sauces. 0.70 per serving of sauce is much.

👍👍 The perfect place to enjoy high-quality seafood at a reasonable price. Was surprised to see this large restaurant buzzing at 5pm (both inside and outside!) but after seeing the fresh fish on display and trying the sashimi which just melts in the mouth I understood why.
