The most amazing customer service! The first time I went there I was not hungry anymore but heard about the place from so many Indian friends that I decided to go in just for a quick snack. I kid you not, we ordered two big plates and we ate all of it, it was that good. And we got it in a blink of an eye after ordering it. Their dosas are amazing, and there is a huge variety to choose from, suiting any dietary preferences. They are very kind and considerate about the feedback we provided. The food was amazing, it almost takes you back to India for the short time you’re there. Usually the customers are both internationals and Indians, so if you’re mindful of spices, they have you covered as well. Just let them know in advance your spice tolerance :) definitely recommending!

Sarava bhavan is one of the best South Indian chains in the world offering South Indian mouth watering cuisine. This restaurant based in Amsterdam is a good hospitality spot with good ambience and food. The food quality has deteriorated at Saravana bhavan not only abroad but in India as well. This place is close to heart as I have been visiting Saravana for almost 20 years.

A worldwide franchise and not the prettiest interior but they're offering an authentic Indian taste. The service is fast and the dishes are lovely (although the metal bowls remind me of my cat at home 😅). Friendly people and good vegetarian and vegan food. 👍

This was my first time trying this and it did not dissapoint! We didn’t have a clue with the large menu to choose from, so we asked for recommendations. We ordered too much food for 2, but that was our own fault. The dosa was BIG and fresh! The interior wasn’t great, but who is watching that when you’re having good food..

We tried 4 different varieties of dosas and they were really tasty. The service was very friendly. Ambience was nice. Overall amazing experience and would definitely recommend.

I was very excited to try Saravanaa for the first time. The place was super busy but we were lucky to get a table for 6 people. I ordered the Masala Dosa and it was super yum. The selection here is huge and it’s very filling. The other dishes were quite disappointing. I had the spring rolls as starter, for me they were a bit tasteless, with too much dough and lack of fillings. I was also confused by the Ketchup which they seem to serve along with many dishes. Other dishes were okayish too, but not not overwhelming. I might give this another try next time, but this this the experience did not convince me.

We visited Amsterdam for one day, this place been recommended for us by family. Decent food, lovely fresh justice. Nice decoration. What put them down was dirty toilet, not attentive stuff. Also we ask for tap water and they said they don't serve tap water. We found this very strange. Overall I will recommend to eat there.

Authentic taste of south Indian meals here. Aboard indian restaurants always find it difficult to bring that authentic taste, this one was surprising.Rose milk was just okay though. Service was excellent.

I'm always thrilled about Indian foods. Here, I tried garlic bread and dosa for the first time. Dosa isn't exactly a bread but something similar. It tasted great, and one dosa is sufficient for one person. Plus, there are various sauces to pair it with. Other than that you could see the kitchen in the restaurant, it was also amazing.

After the renovation, this was our first visit to Sarvana in Amsterdam. The ambience has improved a lot and dosas are yummy as always.

The food was awesome, complete package of south Indian flavours! The service was very quick and staff were very friendly. We had to wait for a few minutes but not too long so it was ok. I would highly recommend this place if you would like to experience an authentic south Indian food.

A nice family diner, with good soleful food. Very tasteful, freshly made and fast delivery. Even if we were 20+ people we did not wait long for our food and we also easy pay separately.

Great indian vegetarian food. I especially love the dosa. The restaurant has been renovated and is much more pleasant than it used to be. Moreover it is nice to know that people are not used as slaves here anymore. Dosa's and curries are very tasty and the idli's are also great. I'm not a big fan of the vada's. It's good food, good value and good service. Long story short: visit recommended!

My friends visited this place a year ago and everytime we would take about amsterdam, they would always be in drool of the food served at savarna bhavan. I was on EU trip, and I went there and boy oh boy. I cannot explain what I experienced. We ordered ghee rava masla dosa, mixed thali and lassi. With each bite, I had burst of flavors in my mouth. It was transporting me to somewhere else. Lassi was so pure and referesging. The food was fresh, it was served very quickly, the service was on point. On the top, the staff there was so professional. The place had a cozy feel and the music was creating an apt atmopshere. We ordered tea as well which so good it refereshed me completely. It was THE BEST MEAL OF MY EU TRIP! I would definetly make sure from now on, if i am traveling and savarna bhavan is there, it would be my priorty to eat there.

Was missing Indian food during our Netherlands trip and grateful to have found Saravana Bhavan. Went in 2 days for lunch and dinner. The Mysore Masala dosa was delicious. Prices are very reasonable and portions are generous. Was kind of busy for dinner but the service was friendly and quick. Excellent for people looking for Vegetarian options. If you are taking a public transport , it’s a 1 min walk from the nearest tram station.

Friendly staff, filling portions; the classic local north and south Indian dishes are delicious and quite authentic. Fancier stuff is average. During non-rush hours, the staff is attentive. Pleasant ambiance with soft music. The restaurant maintains a good hygiene.

This is a really good option for Indian tourists who have a craving for eating Indian food. Filter coffee is worth trying here which is really good in taste. Overall service was good and waiting time was not too much. One thing, I dislike here that they don't provide proper plates while serving food.

Saravanaa only name is enough if you are travelling out side india, food taste same like you are eating in india . Price is also lowest than other restaurants in Amsterdam. Service and dine in experience is nice. Please visit if you are in amsterdam.thank you saravanaa for serving food like home.

A popular vegetarian franchise that always delivers on taste. A very wide range of dishes on the menu so you will be spoilt for choice. We tried the veda and paneer 65 for starters. Both were very tasty and more importantly, freshly prepared. For mains we all had dosas, and they were accompanied with sambar and various chutneys. Also try the mango lassi, delish. A great vegetarian lunch if you are in the area. What lacked on the ambience side more than made up with the efficient service and good food.

Amazing food great ambience , little away from center but when you seek perfect south Indian food you don't have to look elsewhere. The place provided exact same flavors what we tasted in India . Service was quick and the ambience is just too good.

The famous Saravana bhavan from Tamilnadu, India. I had high expectations going there with regards to taste as it's usually Vegetarian people's Paradise. Looks like there was zero maintenance or no effort taken to make it appealing inside the restaurant. Felt like some random Indian restaurant that have no interest in Business just selling food literally. Although I will give full marks for this - They played some good vintage Tamil songs and maintained the Tamilnadu vibe ❤️ Service nothing to write home about, even In India the same chain restaurant people used to show some attitude (I had it in Delhi once). I ordered Ghee Pongal (10 Euros), Vada one plate (6 Euros, 3/piece). Asked if there is poori then he said "it will be too much for you". I mean he is looking at me and deciding himself which is weird. Honestly I could eat both the Pongal and poori + Vada. He reacted as if the Pongal is of full plate but it's rather two serves which is just half the plate only. Any kid can complete it. Anyways the taste was good but I have had much better Ghee Pongal at Delhi, India (in same Saravana bhavan). Vada & Sambar was good, no complaints. But the chutney seemed to be something straight from the refrigerator!!! This place needs major revamp as it's situated in a prime location which can attract people with rework and not only for its name :) Also people could be more kind and attentive towards customers. Customer first in this Business even if you are making millions it's important to be grounded!

What a delight to find this place in a foreign land. You can never go wrong with Saravanaa bhavan. The taste is standardized across the world. I would say it's a tad bit pricey, even compared to Singapore and you'll feel the pinch if you're coming from India a little more. But it's totally worth it if you're craving for Indian food and don't want any surprises.

This is pure vegetarian Indian or you can say South Indian restaurant. We ordered Dosa, Medhu Vada, coffee, Manchurian and Lassi, everything is yummy and authentic I must say in taste only Manchurian was not upto taste for me. We have cravings for Indian food in Amsterdam for 6 months and finally at this restaurant cravings satisfied. I will recommend this restaurant if anyone wants to have pure Indian cuisine food. 🍲

One of the best south Indian restaurant in Amsterdam!! Ambiance is good and service is also good but they delayed the dosa. Other dishes were on time. We had Masala dosa, Onion ghee rava masala dosa, Idly Vada and filter coffee ☕️ All dishes were delicious and tasty 😋 Must visit this place!! Highly recommend.

We have been to many Indian restaurants, but this one is comparable. The portions were huge and the food 🤩. We will definitely come back to try out more of their dishes. I can only recommend this place 👍

Oasis for a South Indian in the midst of a desert. Saravanaa Bhavan offer great exotic food at reasonable prices. The staff is really friendly and punctual.

This place is heaven. The food here is so good and really authentic. If you want to try real South Indian food and not able to visit India (which you should try and visit) you can go here and order any food it will be best. Suggestions: Masala Dosa, Utappam, Rassam, Idli and Wada sambar. Dont miss filter coffee.
