It's an okay place for Indian and Nepalese food. for food we had the Papadum, Lamb Jalfrezi, Lamb choyalla, Lamb saag, chees/garlic naan, Yu momo dumplings (these were absolutely amazing! loved the dumplings) The dishes do miss a bit of kick if you don't take the spicy level up (so i would advise to get it a bit spicy so the dish really is nice and hot)...of course if you don't like spicy you can go for the normal one but for us it would have been a better experience if it was more spicy (the owner did propose to give us more hot sauce and checked on us if the food was okay). The amount of food you get is kinda underwhelming in my opinion for 22,50 to 25 euro for 1 curry (which is quite alot) and a small cup of curry...but most indian places do it like this but you do get the feeling it's not bang for your buck. Make a reservation before hand because it can get crowded especially on the weekends...but all the dishes i've mentioned i would definitely recommend (especially the momo dumplings and the Lamb Jalfrezi).

Arrived 5 minutes before my 8pm reservation. No one paying attention to the door so I had to walk through the restaurant and up to the bar to get the attention of the staff. I was then made to wait 15 minutes before the manager(possibly the owner) cleared one of the many unoccupied but dirty tables. At this point, I would have been very happy to at least order a drink and maybe some poppadoms, but again I was ignored for another 15 minutes while the manager disappeared. I would have left if I hadn't walked over half an hour to get here, and there didn't appear to be much competition in the immediate area either. The manager eventually returned, and I ordered a beer and some poppadoms that arrived burnt. The main course was very nice. Good portion size and presented sizzling, but I really felt like I was a nuisance rather than a valued customer and didn't bother asking about dessert. Overpriced at €51.

Waited more than one hour for food to come. The restaurant was almost empty though. There was only a table of six had been served before us. Luckily the food was good when it was finally served.

Maybe the best Indian/Nepalese food I have eaten and my wife liked it too. I will definitely come back here on the next Amsterdam visit.

Food was good, especially the butter chicken. Service was very reluctant and said hardly anything - she didnt even say hello to us. We didnt feel welcome which was very sad.

Food was good - I wish it was a bit spicier. Setting was a bit "blah" - it was quite busy...so I felt like I was sitting super close to other guests.

sita is amazing!! we sat outside after a walk in the park and the ambiance was wonderful. the food came quickly and you could taste how incredibly fresh all the ingredients were :) recommend the chicken choyala and the chicken momos — definitely the best restaurant in the museum square area!!

I love Indian food but have a general rule not to eat it more than once every 3 months because it can be so heavy, and often makes me feel like you're plodding through the next day still a bit too full (my own fault I always overeat). Nepalese Indian cuisine was a new twist for me and I couldn't have been happier to make this discovery. The food at Sita was not too heavy, or too rich. It felt much lighter and fresher, and as a result you could tell that the ingredients were really, really fresh. It was a taste sensation. The restaurant itself is comfortable and basic, but the two Nepalese wait staff were very friendly, and very helpful when describing their dishes and which dishes to pair for an outstanding dinner. We'll be back..in less than 3 months!

Nice place with tasty food. We ordered Chhoyola Lamb (chefs special). It was delicious but meat was a bit dry. But overall we all liked the taste and place.

We ended up by luck at Sita, based on the reviews we saw online. We have to agree with the positive reviews we saw online. Although the establishment was modest looking, we highly appreciated the discrete and peaceful atmosphere that allowed for a nice conversation over dinner. The food was delicios, came fast and the portion size was generous. Extra points from me for satisfying my request for extra spicy. But the thing that impressed me the most was our waiter. Such a kind and pleasant figure really took the cozy atmosphere to the next level. Will definitely come back!

Jackpot curry!!! - being from the UK I’ve found it hard until now to find a great curry. Shamed to say it’s on my street. Fish curry is awesome and try the hot chicken wings!! They say Napoleon but it’s really Indian! The family are Napolese. Service is fantastic & friendly. They also have good wines considering it’s Indian! Thanks

Amsterdam is the 9th most diverse city in the world, according to a few lists- and I wouldn’t be surprised if food at Sita helped getting on that list. The food, ambiance and most importantly- the kindness of the staff (Umesh) blew me away. The restaurant is super conveniently located a block away from the Van Gogh, Riksmusuem and Moco- and offers outdoor seating, perfect after a long walk. The food quality is outstanding- the flavors blending Nepalese and Indian spices and Umesh can adjust to every palette. The fish curry, momos were delightful- best I have had in Amsterdam. Umesh also recommended his special Nepalese chicken curry, which I’ve had before. It was quite a sight to sit outside and watch the bicyclists go by, smell the food, park their bikes and go in. Don’t think I have seen this level of organic marketing before :) try Sita, say to Umesh and you won’t regret this heartfelt experience.

Sita was an incredible dining experience in the heart of Amsterdam! I ordered a chicken vindaloo with garlic naan, and everything was exceptional. The service was also outstanding. Thank you so much for one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time!

Delicious! The presentation of the food is very special. They put the rice and curry on top of a small personal “burner” with candles to keep it warm. I had chicken korma and garlic naan. Delicious food, warm and satisfying. Korma had nuts and raisins which is traditional and amazing. Would go again if I was visiting Amsterdam again in the future!

Amazing food and people! Even for people who don’t like spicy dishes :) Would definitely recommend to take an ice cream for dessert, one of the best in the town!

Very delicious dinner here!Really recommend the set meal for two people, especially for new comers who do not know which to order. Each portion is enough and you can try different kinds of Nepal food. The mango ice cream is so amazing. The cook can speak fluent Chinese, which is totally surprising!
