The worst bed i have ever seen. It was too soft if you have back problem never go this hotel. We were couple and they put 2 single bed together and cover with double bed cover make it looks double. You can even sleep together because middle of the bed became great canyon. Nope never again.

Rooms are simple but well decorated and have everything you need, along with alot of character. Great price for the location.

I was shocked by how good this hotel is very well furnished, clean, easy check in instructions, everything was kindly provided in the room It's central location only walking distance from tram station that takes you to the central station (if you don't like walking) Loads of nearby local restaurants/bars, smoke shops, markets. The fact that this is small business would also encourage me and my friend to stay again at this place whenever we visit amesterdam again. Highly recommended guys you won't regret it.

Fantastic location with convenient access to public transport and lots of great restaurants and bars nearby. Hotel is small but clean and perfect for a few nights stay. Staff pleasant, no early check-in but we were able to leave our luggage and they brought up to our rooms once they were ready. Tea, coffee, water kettle available in the room plus Tony’s chocolates were a nice touch!

Great little hotel that was close to everything without being in center of the city. Very nice rooms and the staff was very nice.

The location is great and the service was ok. But, I ordered a double room with double bed and got a room with three single beds. Was really not nice since we are a couple. It's frustrating when you order something and get something else. When I asked the receptionist for this she told the hotel is fully booked so o can't change a room

Excellent option downtown Amsterdam. Although they do not have reception service 24 hours and no breakfast service, Danae cannot be more helpful. She was a significant plus to hour stay there.

This was a super cute lovely hotel! We stayed in a triple room. The shower was amazing. Had shelves for your soap. The bathroom sink was great and had a drain stop so we were able to wash some small items very quickly since it didn't have laundry at the hotel. Nice big windows had a tv also. The beds were very comfy and had a lot of pillows too which was nice. Some steep stairs are typical for a small hotel like this in the city- we had rolling luggage which was tricky but we did it. Had a little hot water boiler which was nice and they have tea/coffee in the room with some mugs. We easily were able to get around it was in a great location. They have a restaurant next door and some bars with food down the street. Overall great stay would recommend it.

Decent hotel for what it is. Very small Amsterdam house style. No reception area etc… We stayed in a triple room. Very cosy! Rooms are very clean and well maintained. Good amenities in the room as well. Good hotel for a quick stay. The neighbourhood is fantastic with lots of good shops, cafes and restaurants. It’s a 5 min walk to Rembrandtplein. (Beware of the steep stairs)

SUCH A FAB HOTEL! We stayed in the quad room, 2 couples, it was super comfortable and cosy. I reached out to the hotel ahead of the stay and told them we were celebrating my partners birthday and when we arrived they had decorated the entire room with balloons and decorations and left a bottle of Prosecco in the room. Such a nice touch and way beyond what most other hotels would do! Highly recommend! Thank you Hotel Dwars

Great hotel located close to the centre. Rooms were clean and hotel staff were very friendly. We paid approximately £70 per person per night which was definitely worth it given the location as well so I would recommend this hotel.

My daughter booked a trip during the summer of 2020 to celebrate the finishing of their A levels but for obvious reason had to cancel on a couple of occasions because of COVID restrictions. They are not looking for a refund but just the flexibility and understanding to rearrange sometime during 2022 and especially now most COVID restrictions have now been lifted. Unfortunately though the Hotel are insisting they use the booking before the end of March which simply isn't possible with their studying, and although we have explained the reasons why they can't, the hotel is unwilling to budge. This whole COVID thing has been a strain on everyone and this review could have so easily been a positive one with just a little more understanding. These students have worked hard to save this money for their first holiday abroad only to have it ruined by your inflexibility, shame :(

This hotel is located in a great neighborhood, rooms are lovely, nicely decorated and super clean! Beds are soooo confortable! Don’t forget earplugs as the walls are not soundproof at all, and some guests do not understand that if you come in at 11 pm or midnight, you should not be loud… I got an upgrade to a bigger room which I really really appreciated it. Staff is very friendly and allowed me to store my luggage after check-out. However they tried to charge my credit card during my stay, for the total amount of the stay (over 400€!!) which I already paid at time of booking; when I talked to the receptionist (as I had received a weird message telling me my payment could not be processed) she just said « it’s because we tried to charge your card, but then we cancelled it, so everything is fine » without apologizing. Didn’t appreciate that at all. Also, I had a little tecnhical problem at about 9 pm but reception is only open until 6; on my desk there was a number with written « for any question call this number » - I called it and the guy who answered said « this is not the hotel Dwars but the hotel XXX so I cannot help you ». So why put that on the desk? Also there is no switch for the bathroom light, it just turns off on its own after like 20 min, so if you go to the toilet during the night for example, the light will be on for a long time… I find it quite strange and not ecological. Globally a very nice stay and a hotel I recommend.

Was not impressed with the hotel. The bedspreads were stained & the turn down service did not even make up the beds. Not worth the money paid.

Room was not clean as it should. Too much noise at the top floor room (where I stayed) due to all AC machinery and other noisy stuff. Also you hear all the bars outside till late night. People working are very kind. Specially Tess!

Very nice stay in a very typical Amsterdam house... The room was good, be it quite compact. The beds were very comfortable. The two large windows could open, which I always find very nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I'd definitely consider staying at Hotel Dwars again. Not too much of a deal breaker was the water-pressure in the shower: that could have been better. For those who are not used to Amsterdam houses, the stairs can be a bit of a challenge... But I'd say these two remarks should not keep you from staying at this hotel!

It's an awesome spot, great location! More of a 2-star hotel though in terms of amenities, the place was super clean and modern though. Very comfortable.
