Besides a cool event and vibes being good in the basement, the staff were very much lacking in friendliness. Especially the bar staff. I asked for 5 beers and a guy with tattoos said ‘you can ask that in a cuter way’. It felt forced and lowkey mean and selective. Perhaps he was hinted at wanting a different crowd. Please look into this, as it’s killing the vibe.

I’ve been here twice, both times it was not a great experience. First time the staff was very unfriendly, second time just the atmosphere of the place was not good. I will definitely not return for the 3rd time.

DJs and location itself were good, but the security staff kind of ruins the vibe.. First of all, how is it even legal to charge for the toilet usage??? I already paid to enter the premises and you're selling me liquids?? Then the security guy at the toilet was overly aggressive and no one of the staff seemed to actually care about the well being of a man who was obviously having some medical emergency and who was sitting on the floor in the women's bathroom. The toilet guy was just super aggressive to him and his friend, as he entered the "wrong" bathroom, even though the women were more concerned about this guy's well-being instead of him being in the wrong place, which he obviously was not able to grasp anymore. A club visitor notified another person of the security staff while the toilet guy chose to continue scolding the guy and his friend. That'd be like me telling a person suffering a stroke that they should stop freaking me out.

Cool spot to hang out with locals. The Volkshotel has options for everyone - coffee shop/lounge, night club and Doka, the underground bar. We went for a storytelling event and enjoyed it. If we were looking for an after-hours spot the next time in Amsterdam, Doka would certainly be on that list, even though it's a bit far out from the city centrum.

I went here a couple of weeks ago and unfortunately had a bad experience You had to pay for toilets when you've already paid to get in the venue and are drinking drinks from their bar that are making you need to pee??? Created a really bad vibe. Furthermore, the man 'guarding' the toilet and security staff were intimidating. Can I just pee for free in peace please? The sound system brings the bar super high. Truly amazing. I would recommend renovating the look of the room though...feels a bit too much like a dungeon and it would be nicer if it’d be a little bit more cozy.

Came there at 23:30 we were first, deep house was playing, quite melodic. Decided to give it an hour, at 1:00 am there were a lot of people. All depends on the music. The sound could be louder.

A really cool music venue with DJs playing off old school vinyl records. Great vibes

I was there on a Saturday night - few and not very pleasant people, subdued atmosphere. Bar is friendly and capable, but it lacks the atmosphere of a downtown bar and seems a bit out of place in a hotel catering for Backpack-tourists mostly.

I've had utterly amazing experience here all the time. Best sound in Amsterdam. Great cocktails. And even bouncers are groovy.

Some of my favorite night life experiences have been here. Nice cozy basement vibes with great crowds who come for the music. I read a disturbing review regarding someone being asked to take off more clothes upon entry which was shocking to read hence 4 stars and not 5.

Unparalleled sound system for the audiophile. Doka is a 10/10 sensory experience for the ears. The personnel are top notch. Even though I like techno with a higher bpm the house nights just always hit right every time with these speakers man. If in Amsterdam not to miss. <3

This is a large complex where you can stay overnight, eat, go to a concert, a disco and even a music training. Very atmospheric place. I recommend👍
