Positives- Friendly staff, super hipster environment, great ambience. Ordered the five course menu- food was very nicely cook, beautifully presented and very flavourful. Negatives- I understand it suits the theme (school chairs and all), but the chairs were actually really uncomfortable- enough for me to feel it's a problem. Food came out quite slow that by the end of it, even though I ate a 5 course meal, whether I felt satisfied. Odd. Overall, I would still recommend this place, it's spacious enough for big group dinners or couple date nights.

Always ask in doubt what something us as sometimes there is no description. Ordered "golden latte" €5.40 (something along that amount) was a turmeric latte, VERY STRONG, unable to drink it. Cheese waffle with avocado and facon was super yummy. Cappuccino was great €2.80. Croissant came with chunky jam and butter. Also the breakfast pot was big and had generous amount of granola, great value for money.

Amazing food! Really romantic atmosphere in an old warehouse and great value! I’d skip the cheese platter.

De school complex is a special place in Amsterdam. One of the most amazing people and vibes in the city. This cafe will welcome with you much love ❤️

Went here to visit the night club. The lady at the front of the door sales (Sept. 16) was extremely rude and told us that our party of 4 was too big of a group to get in after waiting in line for 45 mins. Don’t recommend.

We went for a coffee with my boyfriend. We loooved the coconut cake <3 The coffee looked very pretty and the taste was as tasty as good looking eheh. The staff was particularly friendly and very fast. Love how you guys offer the water with the drink, a plus and very well appreciated! We also loved the chill atmosphere of the place. We will come back for sure! 10 min walk from my place, worth it!

Great place for a dinner with friends or colleagues. The restaurant is located in a former school building. We tried the 5 course menu with wine pairing. Overall, a great experience however I wasn't blown away by any of the courses. The food is great but not incredible.

Despite being a bit out of the center and somewhat hidden, Cafe de school is absolutely worth going to. It is a cafe/restaurant with a lovey outdoor seating as well as indoor space. The coffee and brownie were excellent. The lunch options also looked good and were well priced. Love the unique ingredients. Very comfortable place to be! Highly recommended

The experience started off well, with the atmospehere looking nice and the service being friendly. However, we sat in a nice spot around the middle, and were not told what to expect. Just as we ordered our coffee after lunch, a really large group of people arrived, seemingly after some protest, who completely surrounded us, kept putting their things on our table, were screaming and shouting alll around us, and at some point to get each others` attention even started banging on our table, even though we were very clearly not part of this event. Moreover, the staff even opened the doors so they could get in more easily, which made us really cold, as it was less than 10 degrees outside. This completely ruined our experience, which could`ve been easlity avoided by the stuff warning us beforehand, and possibly suggesting a more quite spot to us. Additioanlly, when we went to pay, there was even an extra chanrge on the bill (which they did take off when we pointed it out), but noone even asked us how our experience was, nor did we get any sort of an apology for how our time there was ruined. At the start i would`re really said this to be a good experience, but after how our time there ended, i would not ever go back.

Alfresco area perfect in warmer weather. Gives you a somewhat secluded atmosphere that is a perfect contrast to the normal Amsterdam dining experience. My personal favourite vibe, recommend.

    We bought 2 sandwiches and 1 koffee : 6,5 x 2 + 2,5/3 = 16 max. but paid 22,5 🤨🤨🤨 I understand maybe we were distracted but ...

Good food but super slow service and both time I was there. They kind of wait for you to order a new bottle of wine before they serve you the other dish, almost feeling like a cheap scam.Anyway the food was very good.

Restaurant DS is part of 'De School', an underground club in Amsterdam West that used to be known as 'Trouw'. It is split in a restaurant and bar/cafe. The latter has great weekly changing plates. DS has high quality, modern dishes and great wines. But the winner is the ambiance. Located in an old garage school, it is well lit and perfect for both couples as groups. Make a reservation to secure your spot.

Really nice place to be. Come there for drinks but there is a restaurant, sound really good

Groovy place with friendly staff, a lovely atmosphere and excellent food. In my personal experience most restaurants with complex meals tends to be style over substance, the food looks good but tastes mediocre at best. Not so here, this place really delivers on stylish, visualy pleasing meals that also taste excellent. The final masterstroke is the truly amazing wine of which there is plenty to choose from. You definitely won't be dissapointed.

The coffee was delicious, the place is quiet and relaxed, we order some waffles with avocado but it could have been better.

Not sure about the restaurant, but the club part is terrible. Rudest bouncers at the door, and rules they have created not to obey. We went for 4ppl and they did not let us in because we were a big group, even though the house rules says up to 4 is okay. What are the rules for if you are not gonna obey?

I tried to get in, and they told me I could not get in because my friend was racist. I don’t know how they could assume it, because my friend did not say any sigle world. I was considered racist because my friend was. I give every month to an African association most of my savings, I have a lot of friends from all over the world, I respect all people around me. I had a very disappointing adventure, considering I paid my ticket in advance and I could not get in because of the mood of the bouncer. I would never recommend this club to someone who is planning a trip to Amsterdam, because it is a waste of time, and it depends on the mood of the bouncer. Lucky, since I was a “racist”, I could spend a night with my international friends in another climb, just because we are lucky enough to get another taxi and another ticket for a club in Amsterdam. I will ask for a refund for the ticket untilI will have it.

👍 A cozy restaurant with a view. I liked those Avocado chips very much. Comparatively budget friendly in central Amsterdam. (More ideal for a coffee date.) They are providing white bread with steak. . . PS: Don’t forget to reserve a table and visit the restaurant.
