Shower had no less than 3 kinds of mold (that I found) growing in various places. 1 shower and 1 bathroom between 12 people. Stairs are very steep and very narrow - this hostel is not disabled friendly at all. Its not even decently-abled friendly Staff are friendly, except for the owner who feigns poor English and doesn't make much effort when trying to sort out bookings. Owner also entered every room at 3 am and counts people room, without knocking. Entered bathrooms without knocking to do the same. Alcohol is allowed in the lobby, except cheap beer and wine which they sell at reception for reasonable prices. Location is decent, quite central. The only positive aspect to this hostel is it’s great location. When we got to our room we noticed a terrible smell in our room coming from mold on the walls partially hidden by posters. We complained about this and they told us that they would clean our room which they never did. Secondly, the bathroom was terrible because water wouldn’t drain quickly enough when taking a shower causing the entire floor of the bathroom to be covered in water. The entire hostel lacked of cleanliness.

I have stayed in a lot of Hostels and unfortunately this has to be one of the worst. The service was absolutely shocking. We arrived and went to the reception desk and were told by the man working there to sit and wait. We waited for about 15 minutes while he just sat on the computer. I don't believe that whatever he was doing on the computer was of higher priority than checking us in... The hostel itself wasn't overly clean but we only stayed one night so it was all that we needed. I give the extra second star because I was really happy with the size of the bins in the rooms. Usually in hostel rooms the bins are tiny and not enough for the amount of people staying there. If you're after a decent sized bin, this is the hostel for you.

After several hotel and hostels we stayed in this bobs youth hostel. Very good location and clean rooms. Nearby we rented bikes from a company called King Bikes. Nice bikes and service. 2 weeks amsterdam on a bike was really fun!

Staff were friendly enough no big wow there..not a bad place to state over all cheap and cheerful free tea and coffee in the morning at reception I thought was a nice gesture. Oh and also the stairs age very steep and the hostel is split between two buildings.. 10 minute walk not evenecessarily to the red light district. .

Cheap and central. Location is great. Wifi connection is great in the room, but only all right in the common area. After reading reviews my expectations were low but the rooms are clean and the beds comfy. The bathroom facilities smelled mildly of mildew but they weren't dirty. I will definitely stay here next time I visit Amsterdam too!

All our stuff were wet and to take a shower was impossible. It was more water from the rooft than from the shower!!
