Hostel Utopia is the perfect place to stay during your trip to Amsterdam. Its situated next to the famous Dam Square which is only a 5 minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station. Many restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, discos, casinos, museums, shopping malls and (ofcourse) the Red Light District are situated around this famous square. No doubt that Hostel Utopia is an excellent starting point to discover most charms of Amsterdam. Underneath the hostel is the famous coffee shop 'The Plug'. One of the most well known coffee shops in the city because of their exclusive high end cannabis products.

Nice little room on floor 3 . Steep stairs as expected. Easy check in which is just up the road from room . Clean toilet and shower . Good location and nice weed shop downstairs

Expensive place, and they do not comply with basic services, there is no water for the shower or for the bathroom, the room is dusty, the light does not work well. Too much noise, you will never be able to sleep, the stairs are dangerous to climb and very uncomfortable. The staff never answer the phone. It is not close to the station, you have to walk many blocks and waste time because the reception is in a different place from the accommodation.

We were agreeably greeted and even given tips about places to visit. Rooms were clean albeit small. Location (central Amsterdam) is very convenient, but incidentally is also on top of a coffee shop, so the smells come through opened windows from time to time. Climbing the steep stairs replaces your cardio workout

Needed a stop over for an early train and should have paid more to stay elsewhere although it was still €120 for one night. For the price the room was dreadful, smoke seeping in from the coffee shop below. The only good points were the man on night reception and the clean towels and bathroom. Everything else was terrible.

Price is good, but it is too warm inside and you have building work under the windows and a tram. We had some problems with a key, but the hotel employee helped us quickly and efficiently. 5 minutes walk to Dam Square. I paid 257€ for 2 Nights.

This hotel/ hostel was a disappointment. I paid 250 euros for 3 nights in a four bed mixed dorm. I paid far less in Paris and Brussels for a much nicer hostel. I’m not sure why it was so expensive for me, Saturday night was over 100 euros 😳. Beds were not bunked, no privacy. No breakfast or bar :( The only thing this place had going for it is the location, but there is currently construction so the street looks terrible and it’s a bit loud at night. Locker was too small for my backpack.

No star from me. Here is why... I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with 2 other friends, we got a separate 3 single bedroom, price was a bit high, but we didn't mind it as we had our own space. The only annoying thing after the first night was that I started getting very itchy and annoying spots on my body. One of my other friend started getting them too. We searched around the room to see if there was any mosquito's around but I couldn't see any! Which leave it down to bed bugs!! Now that I am back home (England) even after few days the red itchy marks. I have around 20+ that I could find all over my body. The reason for the bad review is so the business can improve on these issues and make their business better and also help other people decide where is the best place to stay

Overall im very happy with my stay. Location couldn't be better, everything was clean and exactly what you expect from a hostel. Doors and stairs were noisy, as well as the stairs being very steep, but thats why it's a reasonably priced hostel and not a hotel

Pretty typical of a hostel, basic accommodation but unfortunately the only available rooms was at the very top of a long and very thin staircase. Unfortunately I suffer with severe asthma and had to stop twice to inspect the room to use my inhaler. Decided not to stay and spend some cash and take an executive suite at the Victoria Hotel. For an extra £100 trust me it's worth it

Very small plain room and the beds were ok. Everything was clean but this hostel is managed by Bob's youth hostel about 300m away so service is basic. Shower and bath are shared but shower opens right into the hallway as some hostels. Definitely rugged for the price, not bad though

I really enjoyed my stay in this hostel. It's clean, cozy, and safe. The staff was very friendly and helped me with any questions I had. It's in the center of Amsterdam so you can easily walk anywhere. The only problem is, they don't accept credit cards so you gotta make sure to always have cash on you if you need to pay or purchase anything. Other than that, no complaints! Would def recommend!

Didn't stay here, but the young lady we dealt with in the coffee shop area was a great asset to the operation. She explained about the hostel, and we found that the prices were very reasonable. Now I'm older and a hostile may not be in my future, but when I was younger, i travelled extensively in Europe utilizing these communal living places quite a bit. An interesting place to meet new people.

Stayed here and it was the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in. It was quite pricey (to be fair, we did book late) but the next morning, the owner screamed at us to pack our bags and get out. We had overslept maybe 10 minutes past our check out time and this seemed very uncalled for, considering we were polite and quiet the entire stay.

😐 It is a large, somewhat impersonal, completely unshaded and extremely noisy campsite (we were in the tented section).Noisy because there is a large multi-lane bridge nearby, which is still very busy at night. Also noisy because of the "cigarette smokers". There are no rules and regulations - or if t...
