Just spent an amazing two days at this place and I would highly recommend it. The unique and uncommon caravans are a treat as well as the location amidst nature gives one the perfect holiday vibes. The showers and toilets were clean, breakfast tasy and the staff, a special mention, were very friendly. We also rented bikes and drove to the scenic countryside not very far from the Hostel. The only drawback is the distance from the city center but the free shuttle service compensates for that. For the quiet and lovely surroundings, I would gladly travel 15-20 mins extra everytime. Would love to go back! Thank you Lucky Lake!!

Wow what a find. Will definitely come back to stay here for a sunny weekend away from London. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Great setup. The movie trailer. The breakfast bus. Super clean and super chill. It is located on a lake where well-retired Amsterdammers greet you with a hallo while they swim past your kayak in the canals they use as roads to their island bungalows. There is great swimming/running here. You can do a run-swim-run-swim repeat biathlon across a circle of islands within the lake. Will definitely be back. Thanks Lucky Lake!

Fantastic little place outside of the hustle and bustle of the city. Great atmosphere with very friendly and accommodating staff. Many spaces to sit back and relax, check out a movie in their theatre (photo below), or grab a bite to eat. They are also walking distance to a wonderfully designed café, and provide a shuttle to the metro. Cannot recommend enough.

Absolutely brilliant hostel, out of the hustle and bustle of the city set in beautiful surroundings next to a huge lake. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Very chilled atmosphere. No problems with smoking. Highly recommend. A great place .

Magical! The hostel blends into an agreeable landscape. The staff is super friendly: always ready to help and chitchat. The breakfast is great. The room could've been cleaner, there was dust and hair left dragging on the floor and the bathroom. The Bike rental service is a huge plus, it is also affordable. To use the washing-machine, you pay around 7euros which I found exorbitant given the price one pays for the stay. I Loved staying at Lucky Lake hostel, would definitely go back to it!

Amazing hostel with the cutest cabins and caravans to stay in! The staff are all lovely and the shuttle to and from the train/metro station makes it fairly easy access. I didn't end up going to the lake til the last day I was there but it's amazingly gorgeous! Definitely reccomend going here. Just be aware that there is smoking in all areas of the hostel except the rooms themselves.

I’ve stayed here twice now. Once in the spring, another in late summer. Both times have been absolutely magical. My first visit came at a time when I had been backpacking for about 3 months. I had stayed in basically every accommodation possible at that point. Airbnbs, hotels, friend’s flats, and more hostels than I can count. Lucky Lake stood out as my all time favorite lodging during all of that. The staff is incredible, the caravans are cozy, the vibe is mellow, and the tranquility afforded by the remote location is almost overwhelming. You’ll have to take the shuttle to get to and from the closest metro stop, but it’s really no big deal. During peak hours it makes 2 trips every hour, and offpeak is every hour. They have some snacks (~€3) and beer (~€1.5) on-site that you can purchase. The lake is a short walk away and the toilet/shower facilities are clean and well maintained.

Lovely hostel. Very clean with very good facilities. Dorm rooms were big and had lots of space. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hostel is outside of Amsterdam city centre, however it only takes 15/20 minutes on the metro to reach the centre and there is a free shuttle bus to Lucky Lake which runs from 7am until 1:30am every day. Could not really fault the place, I would definitely recommend staying here.

Stunning place , the attention to detail is good to make sure your stay is easy and pleasant , the facilities are consistently clean , the service from the staff is exceptional we were treated well throughout our stay with help on anything you need and pleasant smiles . The breakfast was great with a wide variety . It’s amazing value for money especially with all you save from the facilities . The water sports were great and super cheap . Despite being during the heatwave the caravans were comfortable and clean as well as having great decor . I can’t recommend this place more nowhere else worth staying in Dam when this place exists will be coming back as soon as we can .
