The hostel is really clean, quiet, incredibly cheap and close to Amsterdam (~20 minutes by bus). The host was really nice as well, it was truely one of the best hostels I've been to so far, also found it really safe for solo travelling🥰

The location is really good, right on the central square and good connected to Amsterdam centraal. The building itseld is already really nice and feels like and old dutch tavern. On the other hand the hostel is not clean, and feels like it need some renovations. The shower room was cold, the bed not really comfortable but the worst part was the kitchen. So dirty! Ofc i cannot blame the owner for that, but the guest. Clearly the low fares are really attractive to a lot of low income workers, that stay long term in the hostel and have no interest in looking after their mess. Such a shame cause it could be a really beautiful place to stay in for a few days

For a place with rooms for so many people - its quite quiet. There is a lot od showers, so you never have to wait. Also kitchen downstairs is available for guests. Host is very nice, helpful and quick to respond via Whatsapp. Localization - in lovely city Purmerend is okay too. Its not far from Amsterdam and public transport works perfectly.

This is the most affordable accommodation in the Netherlands, and I had an entire dorm to myself when I stayed! The staff were very strict with security which was nice to see too. Thanks Hostel 45!
