👍👍 The cabins may be small, but the location, breakfast, host and price made for a fun and memorable stay. Eating breakfast as the boat sailed down from Zaandam was a wonderful experience. People often mention breakfast, good, small, rooms, room, location, stay, great, night, ship,

Small but wasn't an issue for me. If you are staying at the same time as noisy guests you can't escape from them. Majority of the time a very peaceful well run boat

OMG oh my God. No comparison to other hotels. Best location ever. Next to Nemo Science Museum where you can pop in for meal and 5 th floor viewing platform. Avanti has a great atmosphere. Mixture of visitors playing guitar. Celebrating birthday. Group of friends. I love every moment being there. Professional customer service day and night. Good value for money. Excellent. I regret to book other hotels. Wish to stay longer

The boat is super well located, 10 min from the central station and the city center. It moves every two days but the destinations are always accessible at 10min walking distance or by ferry (free) in the city center, this allowed us to have a mini cruise. The staff is great and very welcoming. The cabins and showers are clean and the guests were very quiet and respectful. The breakfast is good and complete. We had access to hair dryers and a shared refrigerator where we could store our groceries. We were a group of 6 and could spend evenings and afternoons in the common room talking or playing board games provided by the crew.

Just excellent value & location for the station, great views over the harbour & immediately next to the science museum. Expectations should be aligned to the price which was cheaper for a private room for the 2 of us, with breakfast, than staying in a hostel without. Classic Dutch ship, quirky & interesting with a friendly bunch of independent travellers as fellow 'passengers'. Shared bathrooms but good hot showers & a decent continental breakfast too. More fun than a hotel, just mind your head on the low bunks & ceilings!

This hotel is near the center town ! We were very well received by the host. The breakfast is great and you can get some coffee or tea for free at any time. The rooms are small but it is ok for a small stay. However, the showers are not very convenient because you need special shoes and a robe

The rooms are very stuffy. The rooms were very warm even when it was freezing outside. It might be good for winter, but it was very difficult in summer. Breakfast was nice. You can get coffee and tea whenever you want. The bathroom was averagely clean. However, space to shower was limited. The employees are friendly. It was very nice to have your coffee at night and sip it on the ship overlooking the sea. The sounds of the rooms could be heard. We heard snoring and some disturbing sounds. If you are coming with your family, I may not recommend it for this reason. It can be nice for friends and couples. (Average)

Nice little hostel with good breakfast provided. Rooms are absolutely tiny but the location is good, who really needs a big room anyway?

  • 5/5 E. 1 year ago on Google
I'm gonna start out by saying the rooms are tiny because ur on a barge so that makes sense, if u can't live with that move on. Now, Annie is literally the best and nicest host ever , the boat feels like ur home from home. She will guide u and help u through any of the many many questions I subjected that poor woman to and come out on top, what a legend. I'd also like to mention her friends that were around and made the place feel so cool. If u are genuinely cool and need guidance Annie will kill us for this 😂. Eddie Ireland, Jus havin a sausage roll 😂

The rooms are super small but everything was clean and the location is excellent. Great value. I would definitely stay there again

No heating in the room, got a dirty mask on the floor, which was very disgusting. I have slept in many places and of course I did not expected something special. But no heating during the winter and not even bothering to trow away at least the mask to look more clean is a no go. I would never visit again. Also since I was in a hurry to catch a train I hoped to get the breakfast as soon as possible. As stated the breakfast should have been served between 8:30 and 10. At 8:27 there was not even a sign that someone is going to serve anything. Not for once I was able to meet someone from the staff.

We have been here for a night and were happy about that we had this room. Two or three nights would have also been okay, but not more. It is cozy but very very tiny. Share bathroom (goood ones) and share toilets. Breakfast Was suprisingly good and better than expected on a boat. Sometimes they Set sail and change the location. Yes, it is a driving boat! Recommend the location at all -> if you are bot afraid to loose comfort and aren't claustrophobic ;)

Cabins small and bathrooms small - expected that as it was a boat booking at very accommodating rates. The self cook/ self buffers breakfast table was novelty which was testing us so many ways Some passengers(guests) might struggle with the cabins suffering from damp bed covers after a night of contact with condensation on the interior hull walls or the unclean washing facsimiles. No I thought .... I checked out even thought I’d booked two nights....must be getting old

Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to sleep at Avanti, since the host wrote us an e-mail two hours upon our arrival saying we would have been relocated to another ship, the Vita Nova. They wrote "due to complication with our ship" and lately we found out that it was because they didn't get enough bookings and decided to save money by grouping all guests on one ship. The short notice was really unfair, because it didn't give us the time to look for an alternative. The Vita Nova was much bigger than the Avanti and of course crowded. The toilets stank and were dirty, as for our room, which was really old, dusty, run-down and ugly. It felt like sleeping under a staircase. We stayed only one night and found a better hotel nearby for almost the same money.

Really central, good price, nice staff, central area is really comfortable and the breakfast is good. But the rooms are really small and has mold and dust in it. The corridor is also smelly. I also had to take a cold shower. But the staff was really shocked when I told them, so maybe I was just unlucky. The doors are really hard to open. They have emergency buttons but don't react when they are used (used by accident though). All together it is OK for one night.

Bunks are small but liveable. Location is great to hang out and enjoy in his weather but is a bit away from non-bus public transit. Breakfast was excellent. We had a great stay!

Pros: Very good location near the center, helpful staff, great breakfast with ham, eggs, bread, cheese, etc., free coffee, tea, wifi. Cons: Very, very small cabin room, it's much smaller than you can think it is. You can stand on the floor or lie on the bed, but you cannot sit even to tie your shoelace. If you would plan to have a romantic night with your love, forget it - there is no chance to do anything in that cabin room. If there is raining, you cannot rest in your cabin, only in the common area. It's too expensive for this kind of accommodation.

Really nice place to stay in the city center. The only thing it, that it can be noise with other tourist...

It's very affordable ship hotel, it's very good experience, but the WiFi no really can use in my room. So i have to go to receipts area, otherwise all is good

My brother and I stayed here in December and absolutely loved it. Dave and Annie, the owners, were the fantastic hosts and everything about the ship was very accommodating. They offered us suggestions on what to do during the day and what places to see at night. The ship its self has a nice quaint atmosphere and is very comfortable, especially for a short weekend stay. The cabin style rooms were a bit of a squeeze but suited us perfectly. I would highly recommend for this place for a weekend getaway.

Great atmosphere in the cabins and the lounge. The bathroom could use some work but everything else is as good as it could be. For that price 100 percent recommended.

Also noisy because of the "cigarette smokers". There are no rules and regulations - or if t...
