I've taken many hop-on hop-off buses around Europe but this one is by far the worst. The route itself is terrible. It essentially travels around the perimeter of the city while all of the attractions are on the inside and are not visible from the bus. The audio guides did not work on our bus - we tried six different seats and several pairs of headphones. The bus driver was rude. It was like taking a city bus but paying 25 euros per person for the privilege. Do not recommend.

During my recent visit to CitySightseeing services, I unfortunately had a rather unpleasant encounter with the staff. This was quite surprising to me, as I have visited their buses in various countries before and had never experienced such rudeness. The incident took place during the boat tour, where the driver's behavior was particularly offensive as we approached one of the stops. Upon reaching the front of the boat, I was met with a loud and abrupt shout from the driver, demanding, "What do you want?" In response, I simply stated my intention to disembark at that particular stop. However, the driver's response was far from friendly, as he angrily retorted, "You can't leave here; I specifically asked if anyone wanted to disembark." It should be noted that I was seated towards the back of the boat, where the lack of audio made it impossible for me to hear any announcements. What struck me even more was the fact that this was not an isolated incident. I also overheard the driver being rude to another passenger on the boat. This made me realize that the poor treatment was not only directed towards me but seemed to be a recurring pattern. In an attempt to resolve the situation, the driver suggested that I climbed on another boat so I could leave on that stop, which I declined because it wasn’t safe. It was clear to me that the overall tour experience was far from satisfactory, and I would strongly advise considering alternative tour options that offer better service and a more pleasant staff.

That had to be the worst hop on hop off experience we had ever had. First of all there are no marked spots to catch the bus. We were told by the blue kiosk, we went there wandered around and luckily found an Aussie couple that told us this was the stop. The tour covered a whopping 8-9 stops, Heineken one was eliminated due to construction. Early on some US guy yelled stop, went down and complained that the driver never stopped. We then understood his pain, or was a terrible waste of 54€ for 2. London, York, San Fran, Lisbon and Dublin were all 5 star experiences with great guides, lots of stops, and lots of info. The London one was 3.5 hrs and about the same cost. Audio guide didn't match the locations we were at at times. Lots of radio silence and long stops due to traffic. Driver would make wierd noises that were funny at first then got annoying. Save your money and use a bus pass or fo a walking tour. A truly unjustifiable waste of 54€. We did one loop and got off and walked the rest it was so bad. Wish we could get a full refund. My advice take the Original Canal Cruise for 1 hr for 13€, that one was outstanding with a great guide who explained so much and we saw more then on this ripoff overpriced bus robbery.

We thought that this bus tour could be a nice way to see as much as possible. We did waste our time and money. On the route of this bus you can‘t see any of the places which makes this city so interesting. You better do a boat tour or explore the city by foot.

City sightseeing Amsterdam were amazing. We did both the bus and boat experiences. The free tour of gassan diamond factory was excellent. Alvaro who was our tour guide on our green line boat tour was amazing, and so helpful and gave us the information we needed to get the most out of our time/experience of Amsterdam's finest attractions. Avoid. I wish I’d read reviews before booking this. I’ve been on multiple City Sightseeing tours around Europe and usually find it a great way to get your bearings in a new city. However, in Amsterdam, we didn’t even make it onto the tour. We had one jam-packed day in Amsterdam and planned to start with this tour. We waited outside Central Station for over 40 minutes, along with a huge queue of others. By the time a bus arrived (there’s no timetable), it was completely full and we weren’t able to board it. We decided not to waste any more time waiting for the next bus as we had lots of other things planned for the day. I can’t comment on the quality of the tour but would advise against this bus if you don’t fancy waiting around endlessly. This certainly wouldn’t work as a “hop on, hop off” experience. Tried to get a refund but no dice. Complete waste of money.

The bus parks for half an hour at the Diamant museum, the audio guide provides little insight and is hard to understand with the driver yelling the number of the next stop and listening to the radio at the same time. However, this bus gave no information other than selling me to go to a specific site for another tour. I don’t recommend this. Walk around based on popular sites or get a ride somewhere. So if you’re in Amsterdam only for a day, don’t use this service. If you’re here for a couple of days, May be give it a go

Had some lovely staff on the boats including a man called Fan who gave us extra information from his own experience of the different tours. Fan definitely made our trip so much better. Amsterdam is a great city and there is plenty to see and do. However do yourself a favour and hop on a boat through the canals. There are some wonderful buildings to see, and just the whole experience of being on the canal gives you a different perspective of Amsterdam. Even better, if you have time, is to walk over the bridges and follow the canal. There are plenty of photo opportunities, places to stop and have a coffee and also some decent eating. Great Way to See Amsterdam Booked city sightseeing Hop on Hop off bus and canal boat cruise for the 3/04/19. Was very easy to locate pickup point at Amsterdam Central Station where you could either get on boat cruise on bus. Opted to go on boat cruise first and was absolutely blown over by the Hostess Delia. She was very helpful and kindly offered to print my mobile ticket for me as I was running out of battery, Thanks Delia you are a credit to Citysightseing Amsterdam. Also thanks to the boat driver who charged my phone. The complete canal boat tour took just over 1hour 30mins with lots of stops. Free earphones were provided and a selection of languages available to listen to information about places of interest in Amsterdam. Then got on the hop on bus , for the city tour, the complete tour takes about an hour and half , with full commentary given in number of languages, as I only had a day in Amsterdam only got off in the complementary Gassan Diamond factory tour. Overall pleased with City Sightseeing Amsterdam and would certainly book city sightseeing tours in other cities as I have done in the past.

Absolutely not worth the money. The time tables were very off and we stood and waited at one stop for over 30 minutes. The ceilings were incredibly low in some spots and my 5'2" self hit my head trying to sit in a seat. There were also a number of seats on the bus that had very low visibility to what we were driving past. The boat was great, but the bus felt like a waste of our time and money.

Low ceiling height on lower level of bus make it impossible to view the city. Watch your head on the upper level of the bus the metal frame for the window ceiling are easy to miss if its cloudy. Bus times are very inconsistent. The boat was better than the bus but the audio is the same as the bus.

Very little signage or description to find the pickup stops. We wasted a lot of time looking for them. Very unhappy with the marketing of this tour. Was not worth the money in my opinion. The tour bus app says 9:30 am start time but the buses didn’t start until 10am. The first driver was rude and grumpy and the speaker input for my headphones had a lot of static and the would go in and out. I expected more of a personalised experience and more stops/sightseeing.

Citysightseeing Amsterdam is the worst hop on hop off we have done. Like other reviews I have just know read wish I had before hand. Do not waste your money. The stops are not marked they just stop on side of road and yell what is apparently at that stop so you get off and there is nothing. Would recommend they need to review the service and look at ways to improve so you feel like you get value for your money.
